Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

See here for the old thread.

Oh Dach hun we're all thinking of you and your DH. Excellents news there is no infection and nothing happened overnight. Fingers crossed this continues and all will be well. Sending you a big hug xx

Not a lot going on here. No really bad pains for 3 days and then last night was dreadful. Made me panic even more as I had sort of thought the pains had stopped and was starting to feel a bit better about things and so I was kicking myself for being lulled into a false sense of security. Am just taking it one day at a time and every day I am one day further on is a surprise and a bonus.

I am 6+1 now. Have sore boobs, very very tired and a bit of CM but nothing major. No morning sickness at all which in a funny way I wish would start as it would make me feel a bit better that things were developing as they should.

When did you guys get morning sickness/more CM? (apologies for the grossly personal question!)

xx

Minnie74 · 17/05/2011 12:16

dachs Glad to hear the pups are still where they should be. Still got everything crossed for you all. xx

lara collie harrassed banana can i join the scanning tomorrow mentalling please? Mines at half 5. Been bleeding (mostly brown with a bit of pinkish) again since Sunday and have some pretty bad period kind of pains today. Dp made me not go to work which I'm glad about really as have been feeling pretty tearful and fed-up, especially with dachs worrying news. Mw has changed my booking in appointment to this aft. I'm worried I'll just spend it crying! Not feeling positive at all anymore Sad Sorry to be so me me me.

katherine2008 · 17/05/2011 12:24

minnie big squeeze. I'm sure it'll all be fine and the scan tomorrow will reassure you. Bump, my MS started at about 7 or so weeks and stopped about a few days ago...

dooscooby · 17/05/2011 12:26

larami - my comment sounded really annoying didn't it - "just distract yourself, it's so easy" type thing. I didn't mean it like that, it's just I found it helpful last week to force myself to do some really horrid task that I'd been putting off doing for ages and my thought process was: "this might stop me worrying a little bit for a little while, but even if it doesn't and everything goes wrong with the scan, atleast I won't have this frickin awful task to do when I have to come back to work broken hearted?! Not sure it's the most healthy thought pattern, but hey ho!

Good luck to you too harassed. Keep chanting ladies x

OrangeGloss · 17/05/2011 12:31

Just seeing if there's any news from Dachs I'm thinking of the four of you

CollieandPup · 17/05/2011 12:36

lurking for news fromdachs and hoping for that miracle.

hairylights · 17/05/2011 12:38

Dachs still thinking of you and hopoing all is well.

Bump I feel just like you describe - I'm glad symptoms have returned - sore boobs and feeling off my food, sick (ish) and generally a bit woozy - which could be due to low blood sugar I guess.

But still freaking out.

In my very early failed pregnancies symptoms haven't been this strong - but they were on the one which lasted 10 weeks (but died at 8).

Until I have my baby, I don't think I'm ever going to be able to settle and feel calm :(

getawiggleon · 17/05/2011 12:54

Dachs You are all very much in my thoughts today too. I'm glad you got through the night and the pups are still in there. No infection is today's 'positive'. One day at a time. I hope you manage to get some rest today (I imagine you're under orders not to move very far from your bed at the moment?) Much love xx

Ladies, I may pluck up the courage and join you shortly if that's ok? I'm 5 weeks today (just a day behind Hairy) and things seem to be going in the right direction so far (I'm being monitored by a fertility clinic and my hcg is doubling nicely, progesterone is high etc). I'm very philosophical about this pg (at the moment) and I'm not really one for freaking out so hopefully I can try and offer some reassuring words and fill the room with a little zen from time to time (famous last words, hope I haven't just jinxed myself!).

LaraMi · 17/05/2011 12:55

Awww Doo - I promise, it didn't sound annoying. I suppose I was just chuckling to myself cos right now, work is the last thing that motivates me. Can't stand the bloody place. In fact just biding time till I go on mat leave (positive mental attitude as always, Ladies). In fact, I did pass the time this AM preparing my legal case against my stepmum who's contesting my Dad's will (beatch). It's actually a great way to pass the hours and burn any tension.

Harassed - you're seriously a grandmother? Wowsas - good on you... I bet you're a seriously young grandmother then (and from the sounds of it, a very glam one).

Daisy - can I have some chicken soup? Not cos I'm ill or anything, but just cos I'm ravenous.

Minnie - hope you're relaxing at home. Remember, as the other ladies say, brown is okay!

Hairy - the only thing that stops me feeling crap is constant eating... I don't think I'll ever be calm. I want this baby sooo badly that when he / she is born I will probably not let him / her out of my sight until he / she goes to university.

Where are you Blackkat?

pigletmania · 17/05/2011 12:56

Thanks very much Smile, if you want to add me Ian 4+2. thinking of you Dachs fx for you.

So just saw the doc again. Still a question of just sit and wait. no more scans for a few days either :(

Temp still not going up. This is the good thing for today.

Still leaking fluid though.

In other news the PIL came to visit and brought 14month old nephew and 3 year old niece with them. Insensitive at all?

katherine2008 · 17/05/2011 13:09

Dachs don't forget that the fluid replaces itself - the genius work of your body. Grrr to insensitive PIL. Please take good care of yourself and eat some yummy things. Thinking of you every minute of the day.

LaraMi · 17/05/2011 13:10

Step by step, Dachs. Make sure you don't leave that sofa / bed - remember what one of the other ladies said, those pups are stickers. Proper little fighters.

I totally agree re insensitivity of PIL...

Good to hear from you and if you need anything, we're here.

Just popping in to send huge African hugs & love to Dachs - you are in the right place, keeping everything crossed for you xxxx. Why does nature have to be so cruel? :(

Thanks Lara Im not 100% of dates so will update when I know how much I am updiffed LOL

Still thinking of Dachs

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 17/05/2011 13:46

dachs Glad to hear the temps are still low. it's a step in the right direction. Thinking of you x

cep · 17/05/2011 14:21

dach glad to hear your temps are ok. can't believe your pil that is really insensitive.

Bumpwanted · 17/05/2011 14:22

Help. Please help. I cannot stay awake. Its only 2.15pm and I can't leave work for another 3 hours and 15 minutes at best and I am not going to make it. I've been tired but this is ridiculous. How are you all managing to keep your eyes open?

I have done no work for the past hour as it is taking everything I have not to close my eyes. Have considered going to the toilet and sleeping with my head resting on the toilet roll holder for five minutes but there is a good chance I will be so asleep I will fall off the loo and onto the floor and then someone will think I have collapsed and will get our facilities team to remove the door and rescue me.

Please can someone talk to me to keep me awake...preferably for the next three hours?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bumpwanted · 17/05/2011 14:24

Ooh Dachs just seen your new post. Glad the temps are still ok. Stay off your feet and keep resting. PIL are SO insensitive. I would have kicked them out! xx

LaraMi · 17/05/2011 14:27

Bump - I feel the same... Plus I am PETRIFIED for my scan tomorrow and so simply can't concentrate at work. DH even suggested I feign sickness to go home (but I have two meetings later this afternoon). There is work I should be doing but I just can't. After promising myself I'll stay calm I started googling things I really shouldn't like "missed miscarriage rate at 11 weeks" (I even tiptoed into the miscarriage thread and looked at terrifying things I shouldn't go anywhere near).

I am also knackered. I wish I had a pack of something very chocolatey to graze on (that I can pick at - think M&Ms, Maltesers etc) but all I have is a Muller-Rice and a banana.

LaraMi · 17/05/2011 14:36

Bump, calling Bump. Are you sleeping? Or perhaps you'd rather sleep than talk to the likes of my neurotic self

katherine2008 · 17/05/2011 14:37

lara eat that Banana - it'll give you some energy! x
