Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

See here for the old thread.

Dachs I ve been lurking reading your story . Just wanted to say how terribly sorry I am for your losses. I can totally empahise , my DD was stillborn at 41 weeks in October 2010. Take 1 day at a time surround yourself with positive people only , try and eat , nap when you can and please consider counselling if you think it will help. The first few months , I remember , being totally horrondous but that old saying " time helps" is true , though it certainly won t feel like that now. The pain never goes you just find ways to cope , in my experience. Do whatever you need to help yourself and Dh through. As I view our experiences now as a couple we ll never experience anything more horrific than a late loss ( we d had 2 mcs prior to Georgie).sending you much love Louise xxx

IreneHeron · 25/05/2011 17:22

Dachs, you are an inspiration to be able to post support to others when you are going through so much. I hope your holiday with DH will help to start the healing process. I can't offer any words of wisdom that might help as I have no experience of this kind of bereavement but there are some lovely people on here and everyone wants to support you.

Lovely post AngelGeorgie.

Updiffed, all you can do is take each day as it comes. Don't feel bad for freaking out on here, that is what this thread is for.

hairylights · 25/05/2011 18:04

Oh dachs you are a truly lovely and inspirational person.

nickstermum · 25/05/2011 18:13

Dachs cant believe you are finding the strength to support other people, or even talk about things related to pg...

xxx

wombatinwaiting · 25/05/2011 18:26

Angelgeorgie and dachs - you are both incredible people with your support even in these toughest of times for you - truly inspirational.

Bit of a me, me post but hoping some of you ladies can help. I'm really struggling telling people - I'm almost embarrassed but can't work out why - and when they say to me "you must be so excited" I'm saying yes, but inside saying not really. I am honestly feeling pretty positive about this one yet can't get any sort of bonding going with bump and to get that excited feeling. I definitely was straight after 12 week scan and would love to get that feeling back again - any top tips? Thanks.

Velvetcu · 25/05/2011 18:41

wiw I felt like that too until the past couple of weeks. I wasn't excited just worried! Recently though I can feel baby moving a lot and we have a little chat at night after I've had a shower coz thats when s/he is really active. I can also feel which way it's laying and stuff and that helps. And I have a doppler. I'm also a bit embarassed about saying it - I feel like a teenager who's done something wrong for some reason!

pigletmania · 25/05/2011 18:42

bumpwanted Sad about that little rhyme but so true. Rest in peace little Alexander and Feliciaxxxx

pigletmania · 25/05/2011 18:47

Awwww [dachs] god bless you and your two little angles. I keep convincing myself that i am going to have a mmc soon, and kicker check at every opportunity. I keep thinking that when i reach the 12 week scan that there will be nothing no baby and it has all been a sham. Even when there is a time i don't feel sick, I think ah there will be a MC soon, oh dear. I am not going to see the MW until about 12/13 weeks I can't.

PinkFondantFancy · 25/05/2011 19:04

dachs you are such a wonderful caring lady. Reading today's posts and bump 's poem have made me cry on the train.

updiffed great news about the heartbeat-I have everything crossed that everything continues to go well.

katherine2008 · 25/05/2011 19:17

guys just in awe of you all - the support, knowing the right words, just being here - what an amazing bunch of women.

hairylights · 25/05/2011 19:51

wiw I've been having that conversation tonight. If it works out I can't see how I can tell work til I have to (ie: around six months point). I feel Like I just want to push everyone away ... And I really truly think I might not tell until long after I am showing ... And if people ask I shall tell them to mind their own.

lily06 · 25/05/2011 19:52

Dachs what a lovely post - thinking of you.

hairylights · 25/05/2011 19:52

And piglet I feel the same ... No booking in for me until after 12 weeks.

olismum23 · 25/05/2011 20:03

Congrats on your BFP Olis! It's really good to see you here :)

olismum23 · 25/05/2011 20:36

Lovely to be here!

Ok my first freak out question does very faint positives mean i will miscarry again? with DS i was six weeks before i found out with MC i was 5 before i knew and they were all very faint. I am only 12dpo but it is so faint it came up quick on the test less than 2 mins but it is so faint! it is predictor early result its supposed to measure anything over 12.5.
Any advice welcome

Hi olis congratulations on your BFP!! don't worry about the faintness, I've found some brands stay faint no matter how diffed you are. I say go with "a line is a line" and if it came up quickly that is great news!

pigletmania · 25/05/2011 21:10

congratulations oliesmum fantastic news Smile. I know hairy its a shame as it takes all the fun and joy of what should be a wonderful time. I am trying to not get too excited but its hard

Velvetcu · 25/05/2011 22:12

olismum23 · 25/05/2011 22:26
