The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hi everyone. Glad that your house is gleaming again Josie! Could you maybe send him over here for a couple of hours?Grin

Very embarrassed today. DP and I had a nice night curled in front of the TV, having a wee drink. Nothing unusual there. We went to bed (no JSing as we were both tired), and the next thing I knew I woke up at 3am and had wet the bed!BlushBlush Now I know you are probably thinking I must have been really drunk, but I honestly wasn't, and I feel so embarrassed.Blush It happened to me once before when I was pg, and I actually called the midwife thinking my waters had broken!!BlushGrin The thing is, I never need to get up to pee in the night, and now I'm hoping it's a symptom!BlushGrinGrin

JosieSmith1 · 28/04/2011 15:23

Forgot to tell you all - at work yesterday I accidentally printed off a MN thread [cblush][cblush] It was about 2 reams of paper and luckily I picked it up before anyone else could! I had to lie about what it was, then sneak it upstairs and dispose of it in the shredding bag [cblush] [cblush] A huge waste I know but what else could I do! I'm such an idiot sometimes, imagine if I'd been caught! Not only on the internet at work, but printing off huge amounts of MN!! [cblush][cgrin]

Congratulations on the tidy house, Josie! [cwink]

And sorry to hear about your bed incident, Bam, hopefully it is a symptom though! I've never wet the bed before, in fact my waters didn't break either, but ever since having DD I've had a bit of an embarrassing problem whenever I go swimming... I get water trapped inside me and it starts leaking out when I walk afterwards. Usually not til I'm fully dressed and outside, so it looks like I've weed all over my legs. I don't know why it happens, does it happen to everyone? I've got perfectly fine pelvic floor usually, I've not had any problems with that - maybe because of the EMCS - so I'm thinking it might be SPD related?

cowboylover · 28/04/2011 20:37

Hey Viroids,

Just wanted to set hi from the graduates thread and see how you all are. Nice to see lots of new names and the JS method works!

I am now 37+5 and about ready to pop but trying to maintain a relaxed JS attitude to it and not resort to every method of self induction out there!

Catch up with you all soon I hope [cgrin]

BamBam21 · 29/04/2011 12:41

Hi everyone!

Oh cowboylover you must be so excited there! What a lovely time to be due as well - not too hot, and a lovely wee baby for when the summer comes. My DS was born in December, and trying to cram a newborn into a snowsuit is quite a trauma! Good luck with the next couple of weeks.Smile

I am still hoping my "accident" was a symptom babylann!Blush I feel quite sick today, and I have that sort of low back ache that comes with ERTD. Also, boobs feel HUGE, but not too sore. Even DP noticed! Not due for a week though, so fingers crossed!Smile

Smiled at you printing Mumsnet Josie! My DP once tried to photocopy a fairly large document in a library, and accidentally asked for 1111 copies!Grin He couldn't work out how to switch it off, all legged it, never to return!BlushGrin

crowette · 29/04/2011 14:42

Hallo ladies :)

After 37 days, ERTD got me ... started spotting last night and very heavy and painful this morning Sad Had to walk to work again, as I had a 6am start and it's Sunday service on the buses, meaning NO buses on my route Hmm takes me 45 mins - not good with how I was feeling, very nearly turned around and called in sick!

All done now though - one of the bosses had a moan at the others for sitting around in the canteen for ages and allowing other colleagues to do so to watch the wedding, even though there were others who wanted to see it but couldn't because they were stuck on checkouts or on counters etc ... they soon moved, but he wasn't very popular, ooops Grin

babylann · 29/04/2011 20:51

Sorry to hear about your ERTD, crowette, and your rough walk to work.

I think I'm a bit ill, unless it's an effect of ERTD too, but I've completely lost my appetite and feel sick whenever I eat, with a constant headache and tiredness. Forced myself to pot my plants and build my greenhouse earlier though and feel so much better now it's done.

Good luck cowboylover, so close now! I tried every frantic inducing method in the books with DD, none of them worked [cwink] hopefully that will give you more motivation to try and avoid them, I don't know! We were going for walks and eating curries, having all the sex, every possible method and I started having contractions at 11am when DP was at work and I was still lying around in my pyjamas - almost 2 weeks overdue!

Grumbler · 29/04/2011 21:26

Sorry to gatecrash the thread ladies - I'ma bit of newbie and was having a read through some of the other bits on here while waiting for a frolicker to come back online... Loving the laidback vibe and the accepting attitude to people having a vent!

Also glad I wasn't the only one at work for the wedding today - and crowette if you're working for the same retailer as I am (the very wonderful Asda) - then I am SHOCKED at the rude attitude of the guy telling you to get back downstairs - our ROM told us he HAD to have the wedding on in the canteen all day! (which at least was an opportunity for multiple coffees)

Ah well - long bank holiday weekend ahead of us all now though! Lots of sunshine and maybe a Wine or two?

crowette · 29/04/2011 23:19

Hi and welcome Grumbler it is indeed Asda Blush but to be fair to the manager who had a go, he was complaining about those who'd spent too long sitting up in the canteen watching it - in effect getting paid time and a half to just go in and watch the wedding. I was down on the shopfloor sorting out waste, would love to have been sitting upstairs watching it, as I'd actually finished my own work and was just supporting a colleague.

I've only just got my second wind for the day Grin been sleepy and drained all day! Now I'm wide awake.

OH has been getting very broody again, cooing over newborn babies and saying it would be the best thing ever if we did have a baby, instead of just 'accepting' that I'm wanting one - so this cycle we're really going for it, JSing every other day as soon as ERTD ends ... if we have the energy Wink

BamBam21 · 30/04/2011 00:04

Welcome grumbler! Definitely joining you for a Wine or three! What's your story? I've been TTC for over 2.5 yrs, but trying to stay positive. If only the pee-sticks would do the same!Grin

Whoop for your month ahead crow! Sounds like fun!GrinWink

Thanks for your crossed fingers babylann. I feel like a beached whale tonight, so bloated. I guess only time will tell. I hope you feel better.Smile

Grumbler · 30/04/2011 00:57

No Blush about Asda - I love my job! (Yes... I'm wierd!) PSM in a lovely store, downside is that we've got 3 colleagues who have just handed in maternity notices... 3!!!!!! That's just rubbing salt in the wound surely? Is everyone out there getting knocked up but me?

Thank you for the welcome and the Wine Bam - needed it tonight, as OH is out getting some emergency diy done for the FIL so I am home alone .

Worse - tomorrow is the start of shag week, so in theory should be on the hop tonight - not a great start! But reality and life seem to get in the way a bit.

Been naively assuming NotTakingPill=UpTheDuff for just over a year. Evidently not happening for us - only just started to get my head round cycle lengths and the like this time round so I guess you could say I was brand new at this all....

Much as I support general free-range-jiggy philosophies - I'm tempted to by a BT Thermometer tomorrow?

Any advice gratefully received.

crowette · 30/04/2011 08:26

Good morning Grumbler! I used to love my job too - when I was section leader at my old store, got terrific support from my managers and had a great team, and was gearing up for my management training. Then I transferred to the store I'm at now - my new boss there was not at all supportive (many people thought he was an arse), he'd 'forget' to tell me things, or lend my colleagues to other departments then expect me to get cover for them when there was an overtime cap in force. Plenty of other stuff too, in the end I was off sick with stress and anxiety, and in that time I miscarried. So I stepped down Sad

We currently have at least 3 pregnant ladies working in store, one a manager ... another has just gone on maternity leave and there were a couple before her too. It always seems as though someone is pregnant - apart from me!

With regard to taking your temps - I've started this, as I wasn't sure I was ovulating each month (am 39 and my mother went through the menopause at this age). At least I knew that I ovulated late last cycle, so knew to keep JSing, instead of concentrating on the wrong days. My cycles are getting more erratic with age, so temping helps me know what is going on :)

Grumbler · 30/04/2011 10:32

I'm so sorry to hear that Sad must have been an awful time for you - I'm so sorry. Hate it when friends tell me about lack of support at work, as if we haven't got enough to worry about as it is?

Have talked to the OH today about starting to temp - get the impression he thinks it's a bit much, and looks a bit Hmm but I'm trying to remind myself that this is all just as unknown (and worrying) for him as it is me, except he has even less 'control' over the process and no MNers to vent to?

Today thru to Thurs/Fri is officially my 'window of opportunity' so off we go!

NervousNelly · 01/05/2011 00:00

Welcome grumbler - we definitely need new blood around here! We've not had many new joiners recently; a few Grads, and a few clearly didn't understand our amazing wit and repartie, and have had to bow out gracefully Grin.

Josie hope you are enjoying your fun shenanigans! 4 weeks off - woweee! Or was that a typo and it really means days? Boo if it does, 4 weeks will/would be much better! Chuckling at you printing of a MN thread thoughBlush.

Sorry to hear that ERTD turned up Crow :(. Especially when you had a 6am start, that's just double-mean. That's great news that your OH is so excited about it now!

Have had a mixed week in the B&B. OH went away on Monday so I had the place to myself for a few nights. Then on Thursday was delighted to have my best friend to stay as she lives 400 miles away these days. We had a great chat, I managed to get a diagnosis for my random chest pain (Don't worry, she's a doctor, and in case you were concerned, it is inflammation of the joint/ligament between ribs and sternum. You can all stop worrying now Wink). Then day off on Friday, managed to catch up on some sleep in the morning by going back to bed after my morning horse chores were done - it was lovely, but I felt so lazy! Anyway then Mum arrived at about 5, she went out to a wedding so I had a lovely night in, including a bath just before bedtime. Mum still here tonight, but she's away tomorrow, then OH back tomorrow afternoon, Yay!

I've had pretty major pant snot the last day or two, so may have missed the window, but will be lying seductively on the bed when he gets back, shag cape on, just in case Grin. Or, more likely, will be outside covered in mud/hair/horseshit, wearing wellies and a manky fleece, smelling less then loverly, and certainly not wearing saucy underwear Hmm.

Talking of which, I went to a posh underwear shop yesterday to get properly measured and buy a new bra. I have small boobs and I'm sick of them riding up/gaping/shoulder straps falling off etc. (the bras, not my boobs!) The place came very recommended, though I think the lady was rather disappointed at my request "I want a flesh coloured bra, with no frills, that I can wear under my cream coloured tops at work". Anyway sadly that is what I ended up with (though when I told her I worked in the finance dept at a bank she really really wanted me to buy the shocking pink one!). But yikes - £57 for the bra Shock. However, I reckon it's an investment, and reverse psychology means I will now be up-duffed forthwith, and not fit into it ever again :)

Right, must post before the computer eats this! Night viroids, hope you are all having fun weekends Grin.

KatetheBride · 01/05/2011 06:42

Morning all!

Welcome Grumbler :)
FX that you get some well-timed JSing!

Crow - sorry for ERTD. Hope you're doing ok.
I've been temping too Blush Not really in the viroid JS spirit but I also wanted to check if/when I'm ovulating.

Nelly - how wonderful to have your best friend to stay. Mine also lives a few hundred miles away so we don't see eachother that often but we know we are at the end of the phone any time.
£57 for a bra?!! Let's hope for sod's law and that it won't fit you much longer!

Sorry I've not posted in about a week. I'm in the 2ww and trying to he very relaxed about the whole thing (with limited success!) 12dpo today and I'm going to wait another few days before even thinking about testing.
PILs arrive for a week long visit on Wednesday and I bet ERTD will arrive just in time for me to be in a really awful mood for them Hmm

hotcrossSES · 01/05/2011 06:54

Oops! Sorry, that last post was me. I forgot to name change back from my Royal Wedding duties!

Also meant to ask Babylann how you are feeling? Hope it was just a bug that went away quickly!?

Bam - any other symptoms (not that we symptom spot on this thread AT all!!)

babylann · 01/05/2011 10:40

Welcome Grumbler!

Thank you for the well wishes hotcrossSES and Bam. I think it was caffeine withdrawal actually. I'd gone "cold turkey" from caffeine and didn't really realise how dramatic the withdrawal could be, so didn't link the two things together.

We are just having a dramatic lifestyle change. I've given up caffeine (it's so bloody horrible), me and DP have gone on a low-fat diet, I've been doing a lot more exercise and we've been working on becoming more organised financially as we realise there's a lot we could be saving that we aren't saving, especially since DP's pay rise.

LucyLasticNeeGrumbler · 01/05/2011 18:10

I sympathise completely Babylann - In the last year I've quit smoking, coffee, white carbs, sugar and (most) booze - not in a freaky way, but just in an attempt to overhaul my unhealthy habits - and caffeine withdrawal was far worse that nicotine!!!!! I now only allow myself the first coffee of the day and no more. (if you ask my mother she'll tell you I also don't drink anymore - but no amount of good intentions are worth sacrificing that 'after-work-the-sun-is-shining-in-the-garden-6pm-glass-of-cold-and-white)

Xing my fingers for you - because it does make a difference once you get over the hump of the first week! Felt lots more energy and positivity (plus more SWI bizarrely?)

babylann · 01/05/2011 20:14

Thanks for the motivation Lucy! I'm definitely looking forward to the end of the hump. I have never felt so tired in my life - is that normal? I had a nap yesterday and the day before, today I have really fancied a nap but forced myself to stay awake - think it will be an early night though!

I don't blame you re: glass of wine in the garden, either!

It's good that I've had something to keep me positive about it, in my BP and pulse rate going down to very healthy numbers, or else I'd probably be on my 10th cuppa already today, as opposed to my current caffeine count of the day: 0! Not even a chocolate, and we're still swamped with all DD's easter eggs (don't judge me! She's not even 1 yet, no good mother would let her eat that much chocolate Wink.)

hotcrossSES · 02/05/2011 08:02

Morning all!
I've found myself with a BFP this morning!!!
Really pleased but also a bit nervous as I've been pg 3 times but lost 2 through mmc before I had DS. Really don't want to go through that again!

babylann - sounds like you're doing all the right things and will definitely see the health benefits

Hope everyone else is enjoying their BH :)

LucyLasticNeeGrumbler · 02/05/2011 08:30

ooooh - excellent news! A Royal Wedding Baby!

Very excited

FingersXed for you

x

babylann · 02/05/2011 11:38

Congratulations hotcrossSES! I'm sure all of us will send positive thoughts your way. Try not to let it dampen your enjoyment too much, which I'm sure is easier said than done :)

BamBam21 · 02/05/2011 20:43

Oh brilliant news hotcrossSES! I'm really pleased for you. I'm sending positive, chuffed vibes!Smile

I'll hopefully catch up properly tomorrow, but I think ERTD is stalking me (rubbish pink stuff when I go to the loo!). DP and I are determined (again!Blush) to get healthy though, so maybe next time!!Smile

BamBam21 · 02/05/2011 20:44

We're on "Most Active"!!!Grin

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 02/05/2011 21:25

Congrats to SES! Sending you sticky vibes Grin

Sorry ERTD got you Crow, so fingers crossed for next cycle. Crow and Lucy the temping helped me, felt like I was in control a bit more, and the month I temped was the month I got my BFP.

Bam and Babylann, I shall be watching closely... rubbish pink stuff sounds promising Bam!

In good news I seem to have grown a kicker Grin 16+1 today and (confirmed by SiL) have been feeling squirms, kicks and general washing machine cycle movements, hurrah!
