The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Crow - I just wish our bodies wouldn't tease us and would let us know what is happening! Grrr!
I work in retail as well and worked yesterday morning and am doing this morning too. In fact a couple of things you've said make me wonder if we work for the same well known health&beauty retailer but I could be way off track!

crowette · 23/04/2011 09:02

I work for a well known 'chavvy' (according to MN) supermarket Grin

I'm sort of tempted to POAS, just to set my mind at rest ... but I'm worried there may be a faint line and then another CP/MC, so want to make sure it gets a chance to be sticky before I find out - does that make sense? If I don't test, and then get ERDT, then I'm none the wiser.

TMI alert I keep thinking I've started, because it feels as though there is lots of 'leaking' down there, and I rush to the loo expecting to fine loads of blood, but nothing, totally clear Confused

FFS, I've been pregant before, so I should know how it feels, but no! Mind you, I don't remember having many symptoms with my first - no achey boobs or MS, just increased sense of smell, but very sore boobs with second ... but not until 8-10 weeks I think. Was definitely quite a while after I got the BFP.

Right, I'm going to stop thinking about it, it's doing my head in!! Oh, and I can not type for toffee today, the amount of times I've have to go back and sort out random letters appearing - my big fat fingers!!

babylann · 23/04/2011 14:54

Hey everyone. I'm on my phone so can't really reply directly to previous messages as usual, all I will say is the summer is making me feel so fat. Actually if I could chop off my belly and arms I would have a nice enough figure, but the need to wear small clothes, and we are staying with dp's family means I'm feeling constantly underconfident. I've started trying to lose weight and I don't want to crash diet, I like nice food too much anyway.

My mood is definitely on the way back up though. I was having a lot of flash back styled nightmares and couldn't bring myself to have sex, flinching every time dp touched me, and found myself wondering whether I was ever going to be completely happy again. Anyway, I'll stop talking, I'm just going to get all upset again! But yes I'm feeling more like me again.

We need a bfp soon to cheer everyone up!

Hows the bump progressing Katee? Any updates on colleague Josie?

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 23/04/2011 16:59

Definitely have a bump! 15 weeks tomorrow [bugrin] to me it feels huge, but apparently I just look a bit porky [buhmm]

Glad you're feeling a bit better about yourself Babylann. Actually, getting pg has ironically made me lose weight - I think changing my eating habits (little and often rather than 3 big meals) has done it - might be worth trying? Eat when you're hungry, but only eat until you're just full, repeat as necessary.

Fingers crossed for crow and ses [busmile]

deemented · 23/04/2011 17:09

Hi folks,

Just wanted to pop in and tell you all that i hope to be joining you again after next Wednesday. I'm having an ERPC done then, and i feel i need to start concentrating on looking forward, and for us that involves trying again for a baby. Or rather, not so much trying as just shagging and seeing what happens.

NervousNelly · 23/04/2011 22:57

Evening viroids. Been a busy week at work again, had a fairly full B&B, this week, am now dog-sitting, and had to have the vet out to my horse again this morning :( Hopefully just a small setback though. Woe is me, and all that Hmm. In more exciting news, saw OH?s nephew yesterday morning (16 months) who was being extra cute and giving me great cuddles. Then today it was my nephew?s 1st birthday, they live abroad so had to settle for Skype, but he was again in maximum cute mode [bugrin].

Crow I?m so sorry about your Nan. But I did laugh at your new made-up word, and your weekend sounds lovely, if tiring [busmile]. Fingers crossed ERTD doesn?t show her wicked face. And Josie, can?t remember if I said it before, but very sorry about your friend too. What about your colleague, any news? Hope all is well, she must be very scared.

15 weeks already Katee - wow! Where does the time go?

Deemented - we?ll keep a shag cape clean and ready just for you. So sorry you have to come back, but it?s good that you feel positive and ready.

Waves hello to bambam, Babylann, SES and everyone else. Kipper for you though, SES Wink. Rule breaking? Honestly! We?re all so true to the JS mentality normally Grin.

NervousNelly · 24/04/2011 08:45

Update!!! This morning (drumroll please)....... We Had Sex [bugrin].

Cd5 or 6 I think so bit early, but hey we're JSing so it deserves a gold star.

In less exciting news, I said to OH afterwards that we should try to do it again soon, like tonight (after all, when you've not done it in a while, its rather quick). To which he made this face Hmm, and said that me being pregnant right now would be more than he could cope with. I pointed out that as we'd been trying unsuccessfully for 8 months he was probably safe :(. In a way he has a point- my horse's illness is meaning she needs fed every 2-3 hours; I get up in the night every night and have to line up a hundred helpers to go anywhere. OH is understandably finding that rather tying; and I am quite stressed too( think I mentioned the unwelcome weightloss). On the other hand it's temporary; and I don't have the luxury of time to delay TTC.

Sorry that post is probably more :( than I meant. The main point was, we had sex :) :) [busmile].

Happy Easter everyone [bugrin]. off to do horses, then try to make cherry scones as our friends are coming round soon.

crowette · 24/04/2011 11:49

Yay for JSing Nelly!! Thing about TTC is that there is hardly ever a 'right' time to do it, something always crops up ... but look how many people manage and end up very happy with their little bundles [busmile]

We're getting ready for my daughter (the birthday girl) to turn up, put up banners and balloons - I was putting the balloons up with drawing pins, and one burst and I got stung in the chest ... it really took my breath away and I was in agony for a couple of minutes and thought, blimey that balloon really stung hard! But when I looked at my chest, there's a 'half moon' cut and dot, so it was the drawing pin that flew into my chest! It bloody hurt! Rest of the balloons went up with sellotape [bugrin]

whispers CD33 and still no ERTD, still got the mild cramps though, so still expecting it [buconfused] especially as my temps have dropped right down again ... but then I did sleep with the window open the last couple of nights [buhmm]

Right, off to put out cards, prezzies and party poppers and blowers!! Have a fabulous day everyone xx

babylann · 25/04/2011 21:52

Ah I'm super jealous Katee. I didn't have a bump til about 5.5 months and then suddenly it shot out. By 9 months, people were commenting I was like octomum. Even I was convinced I had another baby hiding away in there. Had to go for scans and everything because I was so huge. My growth chart was really funny too.

Glad to hear you are coming back, dee.

Well done on the JS Nelly!

Happy birthday for your daughter crow. It's DD's birthday in 2 weeks. She's only turning 1 but I still feel like I want to pull out all the stops. I've spent the last couple of weeks practicing baking cakes, ready for an awesome birthday cake I have been dreaming about in my head. My aunty used to make me a birthday cake every year, it was always customised and glamorous and I want to be able to do the same for DD. I've perfected the perfect sponge recipe now, I think. Just got to go and buy some of that fancy icing and get practicing with that. We're going to buy her one of those charm bracelets, and then buy her a new charm every year until she's old enough for us to give it to her. And of course a present she can actually appreciate right now. And we're throwing her a little birthday party at our house, for family.

I've had a pretty hellish weekend really. Started having panic attacks again, on cue every night when I go to bed my heart starts beating really quickly and I freak out and think I'm having a heart attack. I got my BP monitor out and it's always about 120bpm.

I've also had to contend with DP's ridiculously annoying grandma. At first I thought she was harmless and just a bit careless with the things she said, but I've realised there's a lot of malice there. She came with MIL to pick us up on Friday and spent the day at mine while we waited for DP to finish work. She walked around the house sticking her nose up at everything, and kept on making little digs about certain things. And it just didn't stop all weekend. I felt like I was being bullied, which seems stupid, but everyone else started noticing it too. She was questioning my parenting, my relationship with DP, my abilities with housekeeping, and so on. I'd like to think she was just protecting her precious grandson, but actually I think she's just a sexist old woman. She thinks men should be revered and obeyed by their wives and girlfriends, and we should suffer.

One example was a family barbecue on Saturday. There was nowhere for me to sit so I had to sit on the grass for about 30 minutes. DP offered me his seat but I said I didn't mind. But he got up to go inside, and he was gone for about 5 minutes so I thought, "Well, I'll sit down then." His grandma made some snide comment about me stealing his seat and then got up and started hunting around to find him a chair. I didn't back down and get out of the seat though. I think it's insane that as the only "guest" at the party, I was allowed to sit on the floor for half an hour but as soon as DP may need to sit on the floor, she starts running in circles to find him somewhere to sit.

Now we're home and I honestly feel like I can't tolerate the idea of going to stay with them again, just because of one irritating family member who can't stop making me feel shit about myself.

Well, I needed to get that out of my system anyway. Sorry for the rant. [buangry]

BamBam21 · 26/04/2011 11:40

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been around for ages. I've been lurking, but I just haven't had anything to say! Plus MNing is super difficult when DS is on holiday and wants to play on the computer!

Sorry about your shitty time babylann.Sad She sounds like a right old bag really. My mum has a similar attitude to men (esp. my brother, who I believe she actually worships!Confused). Not on to be in your home and criticising you though. I hope that you have DP's support that she was definitely out of order.

Hope all your birthday shenanigans went well crow.Smile

Glad you feel ready to come back dee.Smile

JosieSmith1 · 26/04/2011 14:41

Babylann that's awful, she should mind her own business, cheeky cow Angry

Glad to have you back Dee although obviously wish it was under different circumstances

My colleague is ok from what I've heard. I'm being left out of everyone's loops at the moment so I haven't really got a clue what's going on, just know she's due back tomorrow. Feeling a bit shitty again actually and I know what's causing it - my boss is back. I'm sure you all remember that the problems with my mental health started when she was getting to me, well now she's back, and on top bitchy form Angry It feels a bit like I'm in the school playground. I'm no longer part of the 'in-crowd'. When my colleague went off sick I texted her saying she could talk to me about anything and that I hoped she was ok, I got 'thanks' back, yet when the boss texts her she gets an essay about how things are going, and then when she phoned, the boss said she had something exciting to tell her, yet none of the rest of us are included. I know it sounds childish, but I feel like I'm not good enough but I don't know why Confused

Anyway, sorry for that! My new yard is fab and I get on well with everyone there so I wish I could just be there all day every day. We had an easter egg hunt yesterday and this fri we're having a royal wedding bbq Grin, they treat me like I'm just as good as everyone else, so I've gotta keep that in mind Smile

NervousNelly · 26/04/2011 16:50

Poor Josie and babylann. sounds like you are both having a tough time. No brilliantly sage words of wisdom from me, just the offer of an ear or shoulder, and maybe some Wine later! I don't know if this is your thing, but I'm being hugely cheered up right now looking out at the lambs in the fields by us Grin. oh and also it's STILL nice weather, which is amazing!

Hope the party went well crow.

Yesterday was a weird day! Basically OH and I had a massive heart to heart. It swung to both ends of the "what next" spectrum; but quite a lot of very important things were said, and decisions taken. So the great news is, we want kids more than ever. In the past I've not been sure how committed he really was, and rarely mentioned it, even feeling embarrassed to say something like "but I might be pregnant by then"- as if pregnant is a dirty word. But yesterday I cracked some joke and he said " if you like, but that won't get you pregnant" - sounds silly, but it suddenly feels real. I do wonder sometimes if we've spent the last 10 years in complete silence? Communication- what's that??? Hmm.

Anyway I discovered our JS was on CD 7 so possibly useful! However OH left last night and won't be back till Sunday, so our new found resolve is rather wasted this month Wink. Still, we can just have sex for fun Grin.

babylann · 26/04/2011 20:10

Ah it's okay now. I'm back home, safe and sound! Don't have to see grandma in law from hell for a good couple of months.

I've had a good day, actually. Did some food shopping and then went to B&Q to get some stuff for the garden. We live in a little terraced house, so we don't have a garden - just a "yard" (but nothing as glamorous as Josie's Wink), so I haven't bothered with it so far, but I decided the fact that it's nothing great doesn't mean I can't try and make something of it. So I've bought lots of plants and flowers and will spent the afternoon tomorrow getting them sorted out and planted in proper pots. I also bought one of those walk-in greenhouses (the ones with plastic covers rather than glass) so I'll assemble that too, get my new herbs and veggies in there.

All that shopping exhausted me though so I came home, put the chilled stuff in the fridge and then went for a nap when DD did until DP came home. He came to wake me up but I was half asleep and told him I didn't want to get up, so he fed and bathed DD and made some dinner! I am so lucky to have him; he doesn't even complain when I have my selfish moments.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time at work again Josie. At my last job I worked in an office with 3 girls who were all great friends and went out drinking together all the time, they made no effort to make me feel part of their group and I remember it used to get me down a lot.

I'm so pleased to hear about your heart-to-heart Nelly. I didn't know you were feeling that way about pregnancy of course, but it's good that you've finally got it out into the open and are both on the same page now.

And good to see you again Bam!

JosieSmith1 · 26/04/2011 20:47

Nelly I have to agree that I speak to my DH a lot more about things now.

Thanks Babylann, unfortunately it's not just work getting me down at the moment. DH and I are arguing quite a lot. Basically he comes in, makes a mess, then sits watching tv or playing on the xbox all night. Then muggins comes along and cleans it all up. I'm totally fed up. When we're at the yard he makes such a huge effort to clean everything up after himself and put everything away, but then when he comes home it's as if he thinks he doesn't have to bother. I try not to, but I can't clean anything because all of his stuff is just in the way. I currently can't get into the spare room as the floor is literally covered in dvds that he hasn't got room for (and just got off my bro without even looking to see if there's any he doesn't want) and I'v probably just broken a few trying to get something out of that room. He was off today and I asked him to pick any dog poo up from the garden as I've done it loads recently, so what has he done? He spent hours ironing (one clothes horse worth of clothes), did some dishes, and 'forgot' about doing the one thing I asked him to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the ironing and dishes are done, but why can't he just make more of an effort! I'm naturally a very messy person but I can put my clothes in the wash and put dvds etc away when I'm done with them, but he can't be bothered, and then explains it by saying I should know he's useless and forgetful! It's not a good enough excuse!!!!!!

Anyway, rant over Sad It'll work out ok don't worry, we'll be fine, just need to bat him about the head a bit Smile

BamBam21 · 27/04/2011 10:39

Hi everyone.

I am glad to be back and feeling more myself again. I won't go into it, but it's been a hard couple of weeks, but things seem back on track and happy again.

Josie have you spoken to your DH about how his making a mess etc makes you feel? It's just that, when I was with my ex-H, I would spend the whole day cleaning the house (with DS who was just a baby at that time), and then he would come in from work, and either point out the one thing that I hadn't done, or else eat something like a sandwich without a plate and get crumbs everywhere. It maybe sounds petty, but I started to feel it was just a total lack of respect for me. And it was. Tosser. But I'm sure your DH is just needing a wee nudge in the right direction!Smile And regarding your work colleagues - sod them! You have plenty of people here and in RL who think you are lovely!Smile

Glad you don't have to see Granzilla again for a while babylann! She sounds absolutely awful! It's lovely and important I think that your DH is happy to let you have some "me time". Some folk just don't realise how hard looking after a baby can be.(See comment above re: tosser)WinkGrin

Glad you and your OH are on track with TTC Nelly. Here's hoping that your new-found resolve will get things moving along.Wink

JosieSmith1 · 27/04/2011 10:55

Thanks Bam, I've tried speaking to him but it goes in one ear and out the other. I've now resorted to tidying my own stuff and leaving his, eventually he'll realise the house is a st tip and will start pulling his weight. We go through this phase every once in a while and he'll pick up the hint eventually. And, just when I was feeling very left out from everything and everyone (see work colleagues), a friend that I haven't seen in a while texted me asking how things were going. She always seems to text me when I need a friend Smile so everyone else can shove off Grin Glad you're feeling better Bam

OP posts:
BamBam21 · 27/04/2011 11:11

Good on you Josie! It's easy to get sucked into office politics, and it's definitely the thing that I miss least about being at work, but it's not really "real life". I hope you can maybe meet up with your friend soon.Smile

I am refusing to use the royal emoticons. Fecking wedding. And tonight, for homework, I have to help DS design a "royal commemorative garden". WTF?! Whatever happened to doing sums, or writing a story?Confused

crowette · 27/04/2011 11:35

Good morning ladies!

Can sympathise with having messy men ... OH drinks loads of tea, but will use a different mug every single time!! I'm on the verge of hiding them all but one, so he has to clean it and not use more. He leaves dirty clothes all over the place, and his daughter is the same. If we have all the girls over at the same time, can guarantee it's her clothes we find on the bathroom floor, or chewing gum left somewhere. My girls are good at keeping the room reasonably tidy. OH also leaves a trail of tobacco all over the place Hmm

Am on my phone on way to work, so had a quick read through but can't remember who said what exactly, will catch up properly later.

Am on CD36, and it appears I am 10DPO ... fecking body and it's random late ovulation means I missed the window this time! Hope next cycle is back to 'normal'. However, OH has also got his excitement for having a baby back, on board more than ever now!

babylann · 27/04/2011 12:36

Me and DP are equally messy and tidy. We will happily make as much mess around ourselves for a few hours, maybe even a day at a time, but then we both always get motivated and tidy up. The only difference is we have a completely different threshold for what we consider clean. For example, I do the dishes, dry them and put them back in the cupboard, but he does the dishes, leaves them to drain and goes about his business. I hoover until the floor is spotless, he hoovers until there are no visible "big bits". If I've got PMS or something, I'll have a bit of a grumble about it, but generally I just let him get on with it as at least he's doing a bit. And there are so many times when he gets up and does a big tidy up downstairs or something while I'm on MN or whatever. Generally though, I have a big clean in the day, he has a little "cleaning up the evening mess" in the evening. I maintain that my job is harder, as I do the cleaning whilst trying to stop DD from crawling towards dangerous things! [cshock]

Well, I had to say that because DP admitted to me recently that he comes on MN! [cgrin] He says he finds the feminist and AIBU sections really interesting. At first he came here because he was kinda poking fun at me posting here all the time, assuming it was just a bunch of "lol huns" and "my baby is crying - wot do i do?!!!!" people. I had to explain to him it was a lot more sophisticated than that [cwink] most of the time, and now he reads MN when he's bored. He has also read this thread because he has heard me talking about you people a few times and wanted to see for himself. Luckily, I don't mind as I share everything with him, but it does make me think now - gotta make sure I don't forget to give him credit where it's due! [cgrin] I wouldn't mind saying when he annoyed me though, as generally he knows anyway [cwink]

I'm using the wedding emoticons! I know it's annoying Bam, and a lot of hype about something we really shouldn't care about, but what can I say? I like the novelty of limited edition emoticons! The only problem is the way they separate the lines a bit too much because they're so big. Makes it look like quite a few disjointed paragraphs.

I think the royal biscuit is my favourite [cbiscuit]

babylann · 27/04/2011 12:40

AND! In other news that I can't believe I forgot, ERTD has finally arrived 96 days after my last period started (unless you count the tiny bit of bleeding during sex and on a tissue I had 14 days ago). So now, I have to cross my fingers and hope it's back into a normal cycle and in a month's time I get another one and then we can start trying for a baby again. Otherwise, god knows how I'm supposed to figure out where ovulation comes into it.

JosieSmith1 · 27/04/2011 13:22

Babylann that's fab news! Fingers crossed it's the start of a more regular cycle

DH and I have booked to go away in June, a couple of days before the critical time for month 12(couldn't get it slap bang on the right days) so hopefully we'll be nice and relaxed and things will work out, otherwise it's off to the docs for us to begin testing. He has also texted me saying he's really sorry and when he gets home (2 hours before me tonight) he is going to do what I asked him to do yesterday and start on my huge list of things I have to do cleaning and tidying wise. Yippeeee!!!!!!!!! [cgrin][cgrin][cgrin]

OP posts:
BamBam21 · 27/04/2011 13:56

Yay babylann! Here's to regular cycles!Grin I hope it hasn't got you too bad though. Have a Brew.

Nice to hear you have a wee break booked Josie. And at a crucial time too!Wink I have just arranged for my mum to have DS over at her's on Sunday night, so DP and I can finally have a wee night out together. We have been skint for so long and haven't had a night out for AGES. Quite excited now. My "window" is long past I think, but just spending some proper time together will be lovely.Smile

JosieSmith1 · 27/04/2011 15:37

Yeah Bam that sounds lovely, I think my relationship with DH has definitely got better as we've made more time to spend together (except when the housework needs done Grin)

OP posts:
babylann · 27/04/2011 19:14

Thanks! Despite the cramps which have got gradually worse throughout the day, I'm very happy that ERTD is here [cgrin]! Just had a cocodamol so hopefully should be right as rain soon. And DP is looking after me, said I could have a relaxed evening because I "worked through the pain" all day cleaning the house and making kebabs for dinner. And baked a cake, practice cake number 3 to be precise, ready for DD's birthday in 2 weeks. I've still got a lot of practicing to do before I can make a super special birthday cake to rival the ones you see in fancy shops (or Big Fat Gypsy Wedding).

Glad you have managed to get some time planned with your OHs Josie and Bam. When we were away at the weekend, we went out for the night for a drink and went home less than two hours later because we realised we had nothing to say to each other! Guess we've been spending a bit too much time together [cwink] Still can't wait for our 4 day weekend together though, this time without evil grandma-in-law.

It's for that reason only that I'm very appreciative for the Royal Wedding!

JosieSmith1 · 28/04/2011 08:58

Woo hoo! My house is beautiful! DH did it all yesterday and then took me on a guided tour of the house, pointing out everything he had done [cgrin][cgrin]

We went out for chinese last night and it was absolutely gorgeous! We're going out again on saturday cos it's my birthday, and we're going to see if my best mate and her fiance, and my mam and bro can come along too, make it a family affair [cgrin]. Mam says my bro asked her a week or so ago if me and DH were going to have kids and she told him I was getting annoyed because it wasn't working [cblush] and apparently he turned around and said that getting stressed about it wouldn't help [cblush] So now almost my whole family know about what's going on, or the basics anyway.

After today I'm off for 4 weeks, yippee!! Having a bbq at the yard tomorrow whilst watching the wedding, then out on sat for my b'day, then spending the rest of the bank holiday weekend with DH and the sun [cgrin] Anyway, essay over [cgrin] hope you all have lovely days
