The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

oooohhhhh.... new laptop for crow. enjoy the shiny newness and unclogged hard drive as it zips through any Internet search. Grin DD will probably be quite jealous, make sure you flaunt it! hee, hee...

Good blood result vibes heading your way Josie. No matter what the results you can chat options with the doc. Keep smiling and hug your horse whenever necessary. :)

:( depressed that both Wales and Australia lost the rugby this weekend. I really hope NZ beat France next weekend. NZ deserve a home win. It was quite interesting at the local expat pub for the France v Wales match. only the French were cheering the French. Everyone else from South Africans, Kiwis, Aussies and Americans were all backing Wales.

Trying to find the energy to clean the house. However, the Internet is proving most entertaining this afternoon. Brew

JosieSmith1 · 17/10/2011 19:21

Well, my oestrogen is too high, which may mean I have a cyst, or I might not have very many eggs, and my progesterone is just over what it should be, so they think I am ovulating but there's not enough hormone to be 100% sure, so I've got to wait for a letter from the fertility specialists and go for scans, and the dreaded injection of dye up fanjo and scan again procedure. I'm a bit shell shocked

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 18/10/2011 10:39

:( I hope it's not a permananent problem.

JosieSmith1 · 18/10/2011 17:31

Me too Nickel. The fertility clinic say it should only be about 3 weeks before we get our first appt so that's not too bad. No idea what to expect but I'm pretty sure I should just throw my dignity out of the window right here and now. I don't really qualify as a JSer anymore

OP posts:
LucyRaggyDoll · 18/10/2011 17:45

Josie, I thought I'd stick my head above the parapet again and offer a shoulder and some .

You know I've long stopped being a JSer!! (Nickel, I'm Miffles in disguise!!)

I'm not surprised you're shell-shocked. We never anticipate it being anything other than normal and time. But so good that you've had some tests done and that you're now on a better road to make a baby! It's likely nothing much will happen on your first appointment. Probably just a chat and the FC will ask for more tests. Looking at the ovaries (checking for cysts) really wasn't that bad. Haven't had the dye in fanjo one myself, as they don't do it for everyone. Remind me, has your DH jizzed in a jar yet? They normally require that to be done before the referral goes to the consultant.

Will be thinking of you. x

And waves to others, esp Nickel, Crow and Nelly. We met with our IVF consultant last week. Prob starting in the new year. :)

JosieSmith1 · 18/10/2011 18:28

Thanks Lucy, no he hasn't JIAJ yet, he phoned the clinic and they said to wait and see at our first appt what is going to happen from there. I just really want to know what's going on and what our chances are. Although it's taken us a while, I never thought there'd actually be anything wrong, now I'm questioning if it'll ever happen. And to make matters worse, my best friend is now actively TTCing and I feel like it's only a matter of time before she gets pg and how am I going to cope with that. On a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment, I'm just glad DH isn't here to see me in floods of tears on the living room floor crouching over my laptop (as if google holds all the answers) and getting hugs off the dog. Need a Brew

JosieSmith1 · 18/10/2011 18:29

Sorry Lucy I was so caught up in myself that I didn't say best of luck with your IVF in the new year, I hope 2012 is going to be the year for you

Hi Viroids . just quickly checking in now I'm back. Sorry to hear about the test result Josie but far better to get started now you know. And yippee for chocolate, we will keep everything crossed! Hello to Lucy and nickel. and glad you have a new laptop crow.Smile

Holiday was ace. Loads of JSing, but unfortunately ERTD arrived at the weekend as expected. The good news though is it's almost shag week again Grin.

Better go for now, chat soon. Oh yay for Kattee having her little one too Smile

chocolatemakesmehappy · 21/10/2011 10:03

hugs for Josie. keep DH, the dog and horse close for more.
welcome back from hols nelly. glad you and your OH had fun.
Trying to keep really busy at work, or staring at the ceiling, wishing the three weeks away. two left. google is evil, eeeeeeevvvvviiiilllllllll......

JosieSmith1 · 24/10/2011 21:33

My best friend just phoned to say she's 7 weeks pg after 3 months of trying. I want to curl up in a ball and die. I'm going to the docs tomorrow, I can't take this s**t anymore

OP posts:
chocolatemakesmehappy · 28/10/2011 07:04

Good work heading to the docs Josie. Takes a lot of guts and self motivation to take that step. hugs to you.
Just crawled out of bed after a horrid throat/ear infection with migranes attached for the last week. can finally look at a tv and computer screen again. OH away for a few weeks. I really miss having him around when not feeling well. :( He is very good at delivering cups of tea. OHs can be so annoying sometimes, but so wonderful others. :) I'd like to raise a Wine to all OHs for their good points!

JosieSmith1 · 28/10/2011 18:25

Glad you feel better chocolate, your illness sounds awful! Hope it didn't interfere with any JSing Grin I'l join you in Wine for DH's good points

I'm feeling a lot better since my last post, sorry it was a bit melodramatic. I went to a very dark place but I'm coming out now

Hope everyone is ok

NervousNelly · 28/10/2011 18:57

Hi all, sorry for not posting! Not much going on other than in the early stages of wedding planning. On the one hand, it's fun. On the other, it's already boring and hard work [hhmm].

Sorry you've both been feeling down in one way or another, but hooray for feeling better. What news on the - umm what do we call it, chocolate? Little fighting heartbeat? when do you go back for the next scan? Fingers hugely crossed for you.

babylann · 02/11/2011 10:13

Hi everyone, just stopped by to see how everyone was getting on. Was obviously hoping there would be no one here anymore! I was especially hopeful when I couldn't find this thread on the first 3 pages!

I'm much better than I was before with my weird mental issues! Still on the waiting list for my cognitive behavioural therapy. Had some unfortunate problems with the house which meant we had to move out immediately and are taking shelter at my mum's and using the opportunity to save money for a deposit on a mortgage. So obviously we still have ttc on hold.

I'll have a proper catch up of the thread when I get chance - on my phone at the mo. Have thee been anymore graduates?

NervousNelly · 02/11/2011 10:51

Hi babylann it's lovely to hear from you. Glad you are starting to feel better. It's rubbish that you had to move out but hurrah for saving for a mortgage Smile

No real graduates as such, though chocolate may be close. Last heard nervously waiting for another scan. Josie, crow and I are all still waiting Confused

Keep in touch! The thread is so quiet these days and I miss everyone Sad. Who cares if you are TTC?! You're presumably still shagging Grin

babylann · 02/11/2011 11:30

Ah well I can stick around! Maybe it's time to execute the evil recruitment plan we mapped out all those months ago ;)

Yes still shagging and very broody! Friends are having babies left right and centre. Two friends due in the next month, and the shit head ex and his wife are due their little boy this month too. I'm not at all bitter about it all though, luckily forcing myself to stay realistic that it's not a good time for us anymore. Also, periods are gradually sorting themselves out, somewhere between 35-45 days every month now, which is better than the ' once every 3 months or so' cycle I had before!

How are you getting on?

fraktious · 02/11/2011 12:36

NN nope, DS is 6mo and we've shagged twice since.... Admitted I was a bit damaged and have a gynae appt in a couple of weeks but no, not shagging...
Good luck to the remaining viroids!

NervousNelly · 02/11/2011 22:32

Oh good babylann, hang out if you can. Yes let's recruit those innocent young JSers to our lair

OK frak, you can be let off the shagging for now :). But as a Viroid, you can post anyway! I mean, other than working and looking after a small child, what else can you be doing with your days Wink I hope all is well in Post-Grad land, say hello to the other viroids, I miss them!

Right, I need ideas for a new name. I'm thinking of a Christmas theme. I also think it's time I ditched the Nervous. I'm no longer Nervous about TTC, I'm just a bit underwhelmed now Hmm. But perhaps I should keep the Nelly for continuity reasons so the viroids will remember me on the day I can finally move onto a Grads board

fraktious · 03/11/2011 07:07

Well I'm back at work already, have been for a couple of months thanks to shit ML length but DH is making noises about no 2 already so I thought I'd tentatively hang out and see whether being around TTC people would sway me towards the idea and maybe get some shagging action in!

We're still EBF so the chances of me ovulating are about nil...

Fingers crossed for all those viroids still waiting, the grads thread is getting empty!

NervousNelly · 03/11/2011 12:48

Fraktious that's exciting and scary at the same time, I'm sure! Do you share your OH's views, given the aforementioned Damage? Talk about jumping the gun somewhat, being a year plus into ttc spectacularly unsuccessfully; but I was thinking the other day if we ever manage to have DC1, I'd want to think about DC2 pretty quickly. This is mainly on the basis of age, and how long it has taken so far; but does assume I will get a BFP at some point Hmm. And also that, as everyone says, the memories of childbirth will fade at some point Grin.

As for ML, my sister lives abroad and got 12 weeks, it is rubbish. That said it has done my nephew no harm going to nursery early, he's a cheery confident cheeky soul :)

Where is everyone else? crow Josie chocolate are you out there?

fraktious · 03/11/2011 18:42

Mmmm I don't know. I mean the damage doesn't affect daily life, just shagging, which is why it probably wasn't picked up at the PN check and I need to talk about what exactly it is and means and whether it affects future pregnancies.

I see pros and cons of having another soon. I thought I wanted it, it was the plan to have about 20 months between them - so starting TTC when DS hits a year but now I think DS is still so little and all consuming I don't see how I'd do justice to a baby and a toddler and I want to BF him for as long as possible. Plus I was an only child for years and it wasn't that bad, although I prefer the bigger age gap with my brother to the one between me and my sister....

And The Plan would involve moving midway through said hypothetical pregnancy.

NervousNelly · 03/11/2011 21:00

Yes certainly a toddler and baby would not be easy. I know several people with children a year or so apart and it does make me shudder Shock.

Fingers crossed that you get a good result at the gynae, so you know at least that DC2 is a possibility.

Your Plan sounds very organised though. It is even Capitalized Grin

NervousNelly · 04/11/2011 13:37

Oooh - I just stumbled upon some old Viroids threads. They have made me laugh out loud several times, even though I read them all the first time Grin.

Hooray for Friday! What is everyone doing this weekend. I hope shagging, drinking, shagging some more, etc etc.

Oh - can I also suggest that some of you pop onto the Grads thread as there was some news there Wink

chocolatemakesmehappy · 04/11/2011 15:26

popping back up for air. OH finally back in town and brought a nasty bug with him from India that decided to jump ship to me the moment he got off the plane. at least OH is back to make me tea. I'm hoping a low immune system is a sign my body is putting effort into "it". check up countdown nearly over, Wednesday is d-day. no sore boobs, no morning sickness, just a dislike of coffee and an immune system from hell.

on closeness of age, me and my brother are only 12 months and two weeks apart in age. I was a "mistake". as mum says, don't use breastfeeding as a contraceptive! I loved having my brother just a year ahead. although I was not allowed to date any of his friends at highschool ;)

good to see some new faces

Christmas theme for nelly, maybe eggnognelly? the egg part for fertile thoughts, nog for alcohol content and the nelly stays for identity purposes?

back at work as of yesterday and a kilo or so lighter thanks to the Indian lurgie. is it just me being shitty since back at work or is it offensive for a customer to chat away on their phone while making payment, ignoring your existence to gossip, and to show you 'the hand' when passing them the credit card slip to sign? no important conversation, no emergency, just idle gossip. no thank you, no goodbye. hello! human behind the counter!

no shagging this direction. been in separate rooms due to the Indian lurgie. pass each other in the hall with fingers in the 'warding off evil' cross symbol. plus enough garlic in the house to stop romance for a very long time. gotta love married life sometimes Grin

JosieSmith1 · 04/11/2011 18:40

Not a lot of shagging being done here either, as usual. Did it, erm, once or twice around the right time but unless I start it, it aint gonna happen and I haven't been bothered recently so of course it's not happening. We're both of this week and DH asked if we could spend some time together, but so far we've done some very heavy and busy work in the garden, then he's been on his xbox. Oh what fun!

I've started counselling again, and I managed to visit my newly pg friend, who cried and told me about how miserable she is being pg, I almost slapped her! And her hubby isn't being very supportive. Makes you wonder why them and not us Angry. Back to counsellor on Monday, Docs on Tuesday and most likely work on Wednesday, which is making me really anxious. On the plus side, I have my first official job with the cake business - I did one to raffle off for charity for MiL and put some business cards in, the same day I delivered it I got a text from someone asking me to do her daughter's birthday cake, so that's fab! And I'm doing one for a friend's daughter's 18th on Tuesday so I'm very excited about that too
