The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

It sounds a lot nervous but when you subtract 8 days for my af, it isn't that much. Only about 11 js with a couple extra around ovulation. Not that I ever thought this way as it would be rule breaking Wink Remember the thread where the women was jsing three times a day for the month...that is crazy!

Fingers crossed for your friends horse Josie.

JosieSmith1 · 19/08/2011 22:36

Well it's not a fracture, but very bad cellulitis which he has suffered from a few times over the past few months but they never knew what is was, and this time it's so bad they need to decide if it's fair to try and treat it if it's going to keep occurring and decrease his quality of life. So for now he's on heavy painkillers and antibiotics. It's the yard show tomorrow so everyone is banned from inside the barn so he doesn't get disturbed. Nelly any tips on getting a grey gleaming at the last minute (wasn't going to enter but think I want to now so need to bath etc first thing in the morning)

NervousNelly · 19/08/2011 23:45

hmm baby2b 11 still sounds a lot to me! We managed 5 this cycle I think. Oh dear, I am a poor example of a JSer. Yes I remember well the 3-times a day. Where did they find the time? Never mind the enthusiasm and ow the thrush Blush.

Well I guess cellulitis is marginally better than a fracture josie but it's a tough call. I'm sure your friend will make the right decision, hard though that is. I'm afraid I'm rubbish on greys - I buy dark bays normally as I am WAY too lazy for all that scrubbing! What about babywipes? And I've heard Fairy is as good as anything. Maybe a hairdryer to speed up the drying time Hmm. You are talking to the person that flicks the mud off the saddle patch before I ride, and that's it!

What are the weekend plans for everyone? I'm praying for a bit of dry weather, I'm fed up of the cold and mud in August :(

BamBam21 · 20/08/2011 12:56

Hi everyone!

I hope that horse gets well soon Josie. I know nothing about horses, but I think they are beautiful and always wanted one when I was younger!Smile

Baby2b I know I should be scuttling over to the grads thread, but for some reason I just feel a bit nervous about shifting.Blush I am 15wks now, but still feel a bit unreal about the whole thing! I have just been looking at Next maternity gear, and have felt the odd rolling-around sensation in my tummy, so maybe that will make it seem more real!

Hope you are all having lovely weekends!Smile

caramelgirl · 20/08/2011 19:50

Hihi, lovely to hear everybody's news. I am v excited sbout return of x factor. Hey nelly, Hugh F-W was asking for people to volunteer their land for people to cultivate. Would that suit for your garden? Might be able to negotiate fresh veg as payment. And wouldn't necessarily look bad as remember seeing Parisian flower beds- morning after a festival so was slow on uptake- which were beautiful but full of cabbages etc..
Anyway, sounds like everyone has good weekends lined up. Josie hope that your horse and you do well and sounds like cake business potential is growing. DD and I have new Saturday morning routine of making cakes whilst her daddy runs and then they breakfast whilst I run. That way DH and I feel s bit less lardy and she is super happy. Then we pick victims to deliver cakes too. Lucky lucky people.
I am due on on Tuesday. Was first month of cbfm and I was super positive. Breasts were bigger last weekend, so only a few days post ov- just as with DD's pg and I 'knew' I was pregnant. But had tiny spotting on Thurs and just don't feel it anymore. Gah. So not super hopeful and a bit baffled but obviously trying to convince myself was implanting. Gah. Hurry up silly body. An now quite keen on May baby. Or any baby asap!!!
Met friend when we were out and about and she is tiny, has a 14 month baby and is accudently 20 weeks pg. Gah! Lovely woman but I did feel stab of jealousy and inadequacy which I don't like in me at all.
Anyway am going to try to back off from conception for a while. I don't like that I am becoming a bit obsessive and I think I need to start counting my blessings and focusing on rl and not imaginary baby. Obvs, I would like to tell you when I get my bfp, fx'd and I will be thinking of you all and really hoping that it happens soon, safely and wonderfully for you all. And that all the other dramas in life calm down too.
Thanks for all the support. Has been lovely hanging out with you

BamBam21 · 20/08/2011 21:09

Hi caramel! Best of luck to you. I really hope you get your BFP soon, and hope you come to tell us all, but I totally understand that TTC can become a total obsession.

Take care of yourself.Smile

caramelgirl · 21/08/2011 06:40

Thanks bambam. really hope all carries on well for you- 9 weeks 'til little bam is viable. Time really does fly.
Anyway, properly signing off now. Waking and checking mn is bad bad caramel habit

NervousNelly · 23/08/2011 11:04

Sorry you are leaving Caramel but I fully understand. Fingers crossed for you, please pop in once in a while Smile

How's the horse Josie and howdid the show go?

Glad to hear things going ok bam. have you won the smoking battle?

Spotting here Sad. Only on CD25. I'm really beginning to think this is never going to happen for us. I think my plan next month is to stay sober and healthy, have lots of sex; but then one night get rip-roaring drunk and have naughty orgasmic sex Wink.

JosieSmith1 · 24/08/2011 08:17

Good to hear from you Caramel, keep in touch and fx'd for your BFP soon

The horse is much better thanks Nelly, his leg is still badly swollen and he's on lots of bute and anitbiotics but is pretty happy in himself, although the yard is convinced he would be better out and moving around in his own little paddock but the vet won't let him move yet, vicious circle at the moment. My horsey won the in-hand veteran class! I was so pleased, I've never won anything in my life! I was so so proud of her and it was a fab day, really really good fun

Now I'm back to work and unbelievably bored. It's my third week and I've still got absolutely nothing to do. I'm living in a state of permanent anxiety at the moment and it's left me feeling a bit numb to everything - nothing excites me so I'm going to go back to the doctors I think and speak to them about being depressed again.

I promise I'll get myself sorted out and back to normal Josie soon Smile

OP posts:
Baby2b · 24/08/2011 10:59

No worries Bambam, I was very cautious until I was 20 weeks. I didn't even buy anything until then. Hope you are keeping well Smile

NervousNelly · 24/08/2011 11:42

Yay for your win Josie, well done Grin. But it's a bit rubbish about work being so quiet. Time to research cakes maybe Wink.

I'm off to a comedy show at the festival tonight, really looking forward to it.

You still about crow? what about SES or babylann? and any others lurkers please come and say hi as it's getting quiet on here now Sad. It makes me sad, surely there are still some people out there trying to get pregnant the old fashioned way?!

BamBam21 · 24/08/2011 12:42

Hi all!

Thanks Baby2b.Smile I am keeping fine, and everything seems to be going okay.Smile

Nelly, to my shame, I still haven't kicked the smoking monster.Blush I really hate myself for it, and I try to imagine all the worst-case scenarios and all sorts, but nothing seems to work and I end up ripping the patch off. It really is so hard, and it doesn't help that DP is finding it hard to quit too. I need to try to be done by Saturday though, as I promised my mum I would try to be quit by the time she got home from her holiday, and she might literally kill me if I haven't!Grin Who are you seeing at the festival? I have to admit that I prefer to stay clear of Edinburgh at this time, as I just get furious at all the tourists and ridiculous "shows", but I know there's some good stuff too. We saw Phil Kay a couple of years ago and he was great.Smile

Josie well done on your prize-winning horse!Smile I'm glad something happened to cheer you up. I think you need a whole new direction work-wise though (like a cake-making businessWink) as it sounds like your bad office experiences have really left you stuck in a rut. Offices are really odd and tense environments often, and they really don't suit everybody's personality and temperament. Good luck.Smile

NervousNelly · 24/08/2011 23:30

Just back bam, we saw Jack Whitehall who I like anyway, and he was indeed very funny Grin

You'll get there on the smoking, I know you will.

JosieSmith1 · 25/08/2011 20:52

Thank you! I'm still beaming about my win Grin

Had supervision with new boss and everything went fine. A couple of people have said the senior has lightened up over the past few weeks so I've got my fingers crossed that I'm a positive influence on her Grin Although I have to say the past couple of days I've been closer to my usual self and making people laugh and coming out with stupid things. I might just be on the mend, though I'm not counting my chickens as I do seem to be very up and down at the minute, but I'm going to enjoy the up while it lasts Smile

Making an anniversary cake for someone in December so that's my first paid job. Did my food safety and hygiene and passed with 96.67%!! Only got one question wrong!! Got my certificate so that's going up on the kitchen wall, and I can officially start advertising so gonna make some business cards

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 26/08/2011 16:02

Oh Josie that all sounds great! I?m pleased you are feeling much more upbeat just now ? definitely enjoy it whilst it lasts, and you never know, it might just keep lasting :)

How exciting to have a paid job in the plans already. Don?t forget to factor in 3 things when pricing ? cost of ingredients, overheads (electric etc), and cost of your time. And then add on a profit margin Wink.

nickelbabe · 27/08/2011 12:12

morning everyone!

If there are any new graduates the new thread is here
it's all brand spanking new and waiting for newbies.
:)

Please come and join, if you can! Soon it'll be only me and Katee left, and we'll get lonely. :)

chocolatemakesmehappy · 29/08/2011 08:52

hello. may I join the jsing viroids?
I have been hovering on the edges a bit, usually with a glass of red wine and block of choccy in hand. discovered you guys last month whilst distracting myself from wanting to poas thinking I was late, but knowing I probably wasn't. wasn't. still just shagging.....

NervousNelly · 30/08/2011 23:18

Hello chocolate - of course you may join . It's very exciting to have a new viroid actually :) I've been beginning to wonder if there was anyone left in the world with the "drink your way to a BFP" ethos. What do we need to know about you? Though we know the most important part, which is that red wine is a favourite tipple - good choice Wink. Now as long as you can also confirm that you still have sex even if not ovulating, then you'll fit right in here Grin.

Looking at the Grads thread, I see Baby2b and Eskarina have both had their babies recently, hurrah! Though as you may have noticed, nickel is panicking that there are not that many grads moving over, so we need to encourage lots of new viroids to join, and get a few more BFPs on the go.

ERTD has finally buggered off. Had a very tiring weekend and was out riding my horse tonight, so am MNing from bed. I am trying desperately to summon up some JS enthusiasm when really all I want to do is go to sleep. It's making my head hurt as to whether I'd be a good JSer for a) ignoring the fact it's prime shag week, but choosing not to bother or b) whether a true JSer would have sex anyway, because there is no such thing as being too tired for sex. Confused.

I'm not overthinking this at all!!

Where is everyone else, Crow you have been particularly quiet, come and say hi!

chocolatemakesmehappy · 31/08/2011 00:38

thankyou nervous. I'm sure your recruiting efforts will pay off and this is the only thread that does not read like a military document full of acronyms. Jealous of the horse riding, I have a bike but that's not nearly as much fun. Although it still hurts to fall off.

I can confirm shagging happens when not ovulating. practice makes perfect. obviously since I'm on this thread even more practice is needed Wink
my cycles are a little inconsistent in length so if I ever get a BFP it'll probably be from a practice shag anyway.

have had one BFP in the past, twins, one 'vanished' then lost the other at 12 weeks. probably just as well for the remaining twin - have you ever seen the horror movie where the vanishing twin from the womb comes back to haunt and kill it's surviving twin later in life? creepy

time for a cuppa Brew to get on happy face for work. only two hours today as hari raya was yesterday and clients still on holiday.

NervousNelly · 31/08/2011 13:28

Sorry to hear about the loss of your twins. Out of interest, how did you know it was twins, did you have an early scan?

I confess it can be hard to keep JSing. Ive been trying for a year now and not a sniff if a BFP. But I refuse to buy shag-dictators and the like, as I know we are doomed if sex becomes an ordeal. I guess Im lucky having my horse as it keeps me busy; and I know I've always got something to love -OH doesn't count Wink.

I am sexing up tonight (read- having my mammoth-like legs waxed!) so the boy is getting lucky Grin

chocolatemakesmehappy · 31/08/2011 13:59

you guessed it Nervous, an early scan it was, due to a threatened miscarriage. full story in fast quick technical lingo....."threatened miscarriage, vanishing twin, missed abortion, incomplete miscarriage, incomplete miscarriage, hemorrhage in uterus, emergency d&c". all for one pregnancy in and out of hospital like a yo yo. hubby and docs all great but would not want to do it all again. thoroughly enjoyed my first glass of red after out of hospital Wine

my theory now is to keep shagging and hope for better luck next time.

you inspired me to epi my legs. husband impressed.

the shag dictators are over-rated me thinks. many friends tried them and so stressed about it all the time, did not get preggers until the gave up on calculating, chilled out and just shagged.

so happy shagging to all out there!Grin

NervousNelly · 31/08/2011 22:35

That sounds very tough chocolate. was it very recently? Fingers crossed that you don't have to go through anything like that again!

I am very pleased to hear about your friends success with the Just Shagging! See - it does work Grin.

chocolatemakesmehappy · 01/09/2011 08:20

was back in january, been just shagging again since. took about 6 months of just shagging to get the BFP last time. great to see the post has lots of graduates, keeps my hopes up.
Off for a swim ..... :)

crowette · 01/09/2011 09:18

Good morning viroids :) welcome chocolate

Sorry about my absence, having to rely on my phone to come on here is a nuisance. Also feeling rather 'meh' about things.

Had my friend come visit at the weekend with her fiance and their 14 month old daughter, who took to OH straight away again - no one else would do. If he left the room she would grizzle, when he came back in, she'd stop, go straight to him sit on his lap and gaze lovingly into his eyes ... So adorable! Made him feel broody again, but we've both been too tired to do anything about it and think we missed the boat this cycle.

Speaking of cycles, my friend spotted a pattern with mine when looking at my charts (knew it'd come in handy!) Seems that every other cycle I ovulate late, days 29, 26 and possibly 22 this cycle, compared to day 15 or 16 on the others. Which would suggest that one ovary is having trouble, seeing as they take it in turns each cycle.

I've applied for a different position at work, but think a load of others have too, as it's quite a cushy job compared to others ... Working in personnel, upstairs in the office, not on the shop floor. Plus it's a lot more hours, which is the main reason I'm going for it.

How is everyone else?

NervousNelly · 01/09/2011 11:09

chocolate yes we've had loads of grads, it certainly works. Famously takethatlady got pregnant whilst having stealth sex on their bedroom floor as the in-laws were staying Grin. I think they may even have been drunk at the time Wink.

Swimming - I'm impressed. I only like swimming if it happens to be a cooling dip in the caribbean! Glad your OH was suitably pleased about the epi-effort. I went to bed semi-early, and told OH he had to come too. Him - "why?". Me - "don't be dense, I've had my legs waxed and everything" . Anyway he said he was too tired so I'm afraid no JSing but my phone tells me it is far too early so I didn't really insist Blush.

And now for a confession. Perhaps sex was on the brain a bit too much, but this morning as I was dozing, I had a bit of a sex dream. Only not the kind you'd normally want (you know, Brad Pitt wooing you etc). Oh no, in my dream I had decided that the best way to get pregnant was to have sex with lots of men, all of whom would look a bit like my OH, be very handsome and virile, and generally be HOT. Except the man I dreamt I was about to make the father of my child was the spit of the Austin Powers character, you know the fat red-headed scottish one. First we were kissing and he had horrible stubble, so I had to put a stop to that; so I clambered on to do the deed. He was - ahem- tiny, and it took about 2 seconds. I then (still in my dream!) realised that the whole thing was disgusting, jumped out of bed into the shower realised I didn't want my children to look like him, so wondered what would happen if I were to take my entire pack of contraceptive pills that are stashed at the back of the bathroom cabinet. Blush Blush and Blush. Oh dear.

crow lovely to hear from you again, that's so sweet about your friend's LO and your OH :). We visited my sis-in-law this weekend, and her little boy also loves my OH (his uncle, obv). It's really sweet to see, but also made me a little bit sad. I told him this after, and he asked why so I said "I just want one of our own". He never knows how to react to this sort of thing, so just said "well". Literallly one word, from which I think I was supposed to interpret "well I know, but we will one day, try not to worry, we'll do everything we can, etc etc" Hmm. That's what he was trying to say, right??!

Very interesting about your ovaries. Have you had any investigations done, do you have any other indication of problems (other than not being pregnant, obviously!)?

Good luck with the job, that would be so much better for you. I hope you get it, when will you hear?

I'm working from home today. Can you tell? Grin.
