The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Yay!! I'm sooo pleased for you Bam But oh, I hope you're not going to leave us in the lurch here too soon? :( It's going to be very quiet in here at this rate Grin

Right, must dash - just out of the bath, hair needs drying and I need to be out of here at 10, ooops!!

BamBam21 · 02/06/2011 09:39

Oh crow I was really hoping I could stay here, at least for a while. I don't feel ready to move on from this lovely thread, and I feel I have lots of nice viroid friends to chat to here.

So, if nobody minds, I'll hang around a wee bit longer!Smile

janedoe25 · 02/06/2011 09:42

WOW, congrats bam! Grin

BamBam21 · 02/06/2011 10:18

Thank you jane!Smile

NervousNelly · 02/06/2011 12:21

Oh Bam huge congratulations, I can honestly say I'm not even a tiny bit Envy as you've been trying for so long. You held out from the temptations of charting, OPKs, blood tests etc, for 3 years (!!!) and for that you are voted Queen of the JSers :)

Hang out as long as you want, we'd miss you! But if you haven't seen it, there is also a lovely grads thread here if you need to talk to Pregnant Ladies! Some you'll know like Nickelbabe; but they are really a lovely bunch and I stalk the thread regularly Grin.

Crow, don't worry, I have a feeling I'll be around a while yet :(. Can anyone give me a clue what will happen if we go to the docs for help? What happens first, I've no charts or anything, other than my iphone app where I record dates of period and shags Blush.

Oh as for my horse, yes she is ok today, just a bit sleepy after her drugs yesterday. Thanks for being concerned Bam, yes she was indeed very very poorly. I'm still getting up at 3am every night to feed her, but generally she is a lot better. Fingers crossed that last night was just a small setback as it's been nearly 6 weeks since she was last ill. Typical as we are meant to be going up West tomorrow night .

BamBam21 · 02/06/2011 12:34

Oh thank you nelly! Grin I really am happy. I ran down to tell my mum this morning, and she was delighted. We won't tell anyone else yet (except DP's mum) but I just knew I couldn't keep it a secret from my mum! The biggest problem now is trying to keep it a secret from my (very smart and super-hearing)DS. He will be so happy, but I don't want to say anything to him until 3 months.

Glad your horse is on the mend nelly.Smile Blimey though, you must be exhausted getting up every night. Good practice for when you get your BFP, but at least you won't keep Little Nelly in a draughty stable!!Grin

NervousNelly · 02/06/2011 13:32

Little Nelly will go in a draughty stable if he/she cries too much. Wink.

Now - enough of the back-slapping, cigar smoking congratulations. I want details. Just exactly HOW did you get pregnant? Hmmm? How many shags, when, and where? (It might be relevant, perhaps kitchen table is the way forward?) Grin. Dish, please!

I had some familiar twinges in my belly this morning. No sign of any spotting or anything so far, but I think 4 days still to go? crikey this 2ww is REALLY dragging on Hmm.

babylann · 02/06/2011 14:36

Congratulations Bam! WineGrin I haven't been around much recently, but was pleased to come back today to some great news. Stick around!

Got my period this morning. I'm so happy! I know that's probably not a normal thing for someone on this thread to say, but it's true nonetheless... After all the unusual periods lately, I was looking at my pink calendar yesterday and saw I was due today and hadn't had any warning signs... Then I went to the toilet, literally a few minutes later, and had a bit of spotting, a few little cramps emerged within a few minutes of that, and this morning woke up in the full flow of things. I'm still feeling miserable and grumpy in true ERTD style, but there's still a wonderful feeling that I'm back to normal now - finally! And back to my old routine too... 35 days on the dot, like I was pre-pregnancy. GrinGrinGrin

I'd taken a step back from MN in general really, as I was getting really miserable about my abnormal periods and wondering what was wrong with me. I figured the stress of worrying about them probably wasn't helping it along either, so I needed to focus on other stuff for a while.

NervousNelly · 02/06/2011 17:14

Hi babylann - what great news about your ERTD Grin. I was reading the start of your post where you said "I got my period..." and in my mind I was thinking "what, again? So soon? Surely you've just had one?" Grin Wink. It's a little alarming that I know that, mind you!

I know what you mean about MN sometimes becoming a bit of a drain. I don't find that with this thread, to be fair; but I tend to stay away from the buses and other threads. Either the buses seem to be full of people getting PG on first attempt; or the threads for the long term TTC-ers can sometimes get very depressing :(. Sometimes you want the company down there in the doldrums, and other times it can really make you feel that no-one will ever get pregnant ever again Hmm. To counter that, whenever I feel a bit low, I go over to the JS Grads thread and read what they are all up to and feel smug that I don't waddle or leak. And when it all gets a bit much, I flick over to my horsey forums and chat to my friends there about wild, dangerous, adrenaline filled activities that are completely at odds with TTC Wink.

Anyway I hope that you feel ready to join us a bit more now, we're a bit light on drinking partners JS company just now :)

NervousNelly · 02/06/2011 17:16

Oh I should add - I don't just spend my life in a virtual world. Sometimes I go out and actually DO these wild dangerous things, as well as chatting about them on an internet forum Wink. In case any of you thought I was sad or owt.

BamBam21 · 03/06/2011 09:25

Hi everyone.

babylann it's so good to see you back! I really hope that your ERTD worries are over now. I know what you mean about how MN can get a bit draining too, and become an obsession. It has hopefully done you good to have a wee break.

Nelly I'm not quite sure how we got pg, although I think I know which night it probably was. I hate to say it, but we had kinda given up hope, so the folk that tell you to relax and it will happen might be right!HmmGrin Is that enough info, or would you like details of positions etc?GrinGrin Hope your lovely horsey is fine today nelly.

I have a doctor's appointment today at 5pm. I know it seems a bit hasty, but I take meds for an underactive thyroid, and I want to be sure it's all okay.

babylann · 03/06/2011 12:04

Thanks Nelly and Bam :) It is good to be back. And it is funny how much we all remember about each other now, Nelly. Before this month, I could keep up with everything everyone was going through. I'd wonder over my morning cup of tea whether X had tested yet, wasn't it Y's time as well? Hehe.

Also, if it helps anyone get pregnant, I will say how I conceived DD. Bam says, "relax and it will happen", well I relaxed quite a lot because we weren't TTC at all and were using condoms. I was probably on about CD7 - I was on a summer course at Lancaster Uni, it was a bit of security in case I didn't get my full A Level results needed (waste of time - I did get the results I needed, and I couldn't go to uni in the end anyway Grin). DP came to stay with me for the last few days I was there - we were enjoying the freedom of being somewhere other than my parents' house - and it was the most wild and perhaps even kinky night of our relationship so far, didn't get any sleep, we were moving around the room like they do on porn Grin - pretty embarrassing to think about now really, we aren't the types for all the exciting stuff, we just like simple in-the-bed-him-on-top-lasting-about-10-minutes stuff. Considering how early it was in my cycle, and the fact we were using protection, didn't expect to get pregnant at all. Maybe we should all just start using condoms - everyone else I know who's had an unexpected pregnancy claims they were using condoms too. Wink

BamBam21 · 03/06/2011 12:20

babylann!!BlushBlush

I honestly wasn't expecting anything this month, so when we JSed, it really was JSing!! Definitely looks like having zero expectations and using condoms is the way to go!!Grin

Just did my 4th testHmm and still got a BFP!Smile I wanted to check yet again before I go to the doctor today. I'm hoping she will let me use patches or something, as I am finding it so hard to quit smoking. I have cut down lots, but I need to STOP!!!ConfusedSmile Really don't want to have a bump and a fag in my hand.Sad

NervousNelly · 03/06/2011 18:07

Oh babylann what a great story Grin.

Just quick as about to head off, and where we're going they don't have roads Internet or 3G. But looks like I'm out this month- as predicted I have (tmi) brown icky spotting. ERTD on it's way just in time for our weekend Hmm. Next month we will try the alternative approach Wink

babylann · 04/06/2011 23:56

Bam, they weren't very supportive when I went for me stop smoking thing. But at that point, they still hadn't confirmed I was pregnant so maybe they didn't care very much. Basically, they made me blow into that thingymajig, and established that, according to the results, I didn't have much carbon monoxide in my blood anyway so I probably wasn't very addicted thus wasn't eligible for anything more than gum. Well, we went and bought our own patches. I have seen on that show on TV, may as well be called "Evil Pregnant Women", and they were allowed to have patches, so even if you don't get them on prescription I don't think you should let that deter you from using them if you think they'll help you quit.

Sorry if my story was TMI! I have a habit of doing that...

babylann · 04/06/2011 23:57

my* stop smoking thing. Not me. Ain't a cockney, awrigh'?

caramelgirl · 06/06/2011 08:48

Squeeeeee bambam, how v v exciting. I saw your non digital result and have been away for weekend and hoping that you got the 1-2 weeks pop up the next morning. That is fantastic. Congratulations and hope that it is a really good pregnancy.
Your DS at school, no? So you should be able to have nice napping afternoons to keep baby happy?
Welcome back babylann and congrats on period arriving too!!
Right, off to play at being good and non neglectful mother to housebound baby- icky rainy weather putting me off a wholesome walk

BamBam21 · 06/06/2011 10:36

Morning everyone! I hope you all had good weekends.

Thanks for the congrats caramel.Smile Bean is still hanging in there, and I have a midwife appointment on Friday. I know that it's going to be a bit early probably to hear a heartbeat etc, but it's exciting just the same! I have to get regular blood tests to keep a check on my thyroxine levels, and the doctor has given me patches to quit smoking. It's so hard, and I haven't quite quit altogether yet, but I'm getting there, and I WILL do it! I want a lovely healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy.

DS was staying at my mum's last night, so DP and I planned a cosy night in. DP then sliced his hand open trying to separate two beef grillsteaks, and we spent the night at A&E! Didn't get home until nearly 2am! The poor soul cut himself really deeply in the webby bit between his index and middle fingers, and needed three stitches. Must be hormones, but I was no help and kept bursting into tears!Smile

LOL at cockney babylann!Grin

NervousNelly · 07/06/2011 17:42

Hello viroids, back in the land of the internet Grin but CD2 here :( :(

Oh well can't say it came as a surprise, though obviously disappointing given we did lots of JSing this month. So to counter-act being annoyed, I've arranged lots of fun things to do this week while I am off, most of them horse related and therefore naturally dangerous Wink. But also, painting the lounge - not so fun, perhaps? Hmm.

OH has also agreed to go through with Doctor's appointment, so I'll phone up tomorrow to see what they say. Think I'll start a thread about what to expect, as I've no idea.

Better get my lazy ass off the sofa, as I'm home now and loads to do. I did quite enough lazing about over the last 4 days, which was nice, but now I'm feeling rather restless!

Hope everyone else is well, a special to the lurkers :)

janedoe25 · 07/06/2011 19:03

Hi girls! Im on CD16 now, i guess im on the 2 ww then. I really don't think we have managed to conceive this time. With my first pregnancy we were extremely lucky to conceive on the first swi!

nervousnelly You just go wild this week, i think you deserve it!

Bam bloody typical! You plan a cosy night and DH goes and ruins it! I hope he is ok.

NervousNelly · 07/06/2011 19:31

Ah yes Janedoe, but that's what Bambam said Wink. We will do our best to distract you and lead you astray in equal measure in the meantime.

I forgot to sympathise with Mr Bambam - that does indeed sound very painful Shock. But if he is looking for too much sympathy, you can play the pregnancy/childbirth card.

I'm about to knock back a couple of large gins. And last night drank most of a bottle of very lovely Wine. May as well treat myself even though I'm not slowing down much the rest of the month.

Fucking ERTD Angry.

BamBam21 · 08/06/2011 09:55

Hi everyone.

Sorry about ERTD nelly.Sad Loving that you are going to live dangerously for a while. It's bound to happen for you if you drink loads and indulge in dangerous horsey activities!Smile

nelly is right jane, I said the same as you about being pretty sure this wasn't our month. I nearly fainted when the pink line showed up! I will have my fingers crossed for you on the 2WW.Smile

Thanks for the sympathy for Mr bam. His hand is really sore. He has to go along to the doctor on Monday to get the stitches out, but the cut is in such an awkward place. I don't have any symptoms really yet (apart from fecking sore boobs) so he's getting lots of sympathy!Smile

caramelgirl · 08/06/2011 18:45

ERTD in the house. caramel in the hot bath planning a glass of wine and a bit of whinging to DH. Who, to be fair, had said that I didn't "smell" pregnant but I felt pregnant so I didn 't believe him. Off to my parents' next week and visiting my in laws who have a 9 month baby and his 3 months pregnant mum staying with them. I'm alright with pregnant strangers but am starting to dread pregnancy announcements from friends. Pah.
Hope that doctors was good bam - from memory a thyroid deficiency can certainly impact pregnancy hormone levels so hope that they took you seriously and maybe see another doctor if not
Am starting to believe that it's just because we don't manage enough sex but unsure when we ever will. Gah and I just want a baby. Hmph, off to my pity party.
Nelly hope that you are feeling a bit cheerier now. Howsabout we both get pregnant this cycle, hmmmmm?

BamBam21 · 09/06/2011 09:52

Morning all.

Sorry ERTD got you caramel.Sad I hope you really indulged yourself last night and feel better today.Smile

It went well at the doctor's thanks. I have to get a thyroid check next week, and she reckons probably another two or three times over the course of the pregnancy. Apparently I will probably need to have my dose increased at some point, but they'll keep an eye on it. It was actually nice as it was a female doctor, so she was quite enthusiastic! I also got patches to quit smoking, and antibiotics, as I had a urine infection! I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow, but I will be just over 5 weeks so probably far too early to hear a heartbeat etc. It's exciting though!Smile

I hope nobody minds me still hanging about here.Blush I just feel so comfy here, and I'm really rooting for everyone.Smile

NervousNelly · 09/06/2011 11:02

Please stay bambam!!! stay as long as you like :)

V busy at the mo, painted our lounge yesterday plus went for a lesson on my horse; and OH and I had first doctors appointment. I went back today for day 4 blood test. Will fill you in properly later as apparently we are painting the conservatory today Hmm. better get back before my boss boyfriend comes to find me Wink.
