last period 5th of feb but tests say no. What now ?

I have never missed a period before other than my 3 pregnancies. I must have done about 12 tests the last one on tuesday. All have said no.

We have not been trying for a child and it would not be a good thing but neither would it be the end of the world.

My GP was useless he actually told me I would be pregnant or not. I'm so glad I went I could never have figured that out on my own. He also said come back in a while if nothing happens. I asked what a while is and he said months and months and months.

Does anyone have any experience like this ? I could really do with some advice ?

Hi Maccie :) Strangely enough I was going through the exact same thing. My last period was on the 4th of Feb & I have a 35 day cycle so my period was 2 weeks late exactly. I had negative pregnancy test although convinced I was still pregnant so I went for a blood test which I demanded at the doctors. My results were supposed to be in on Friday so I had to wait until Monday for the results. Unfortunately I started bleeding this morning. I just didn't think it was possible that I could be two weeks late & NOT be pregnant.

hi my last af was 28th jan,i have pcos but my cycle has always been 4-5 weeks,but at 6 weeks i did tests came bk negative i even went to doctors that one was negative but today i did 3 tesco ones that came up bfp and 1 cb digital but that came back negative but i will go to doctors on monday to see if iam or not,

i remember once before i had my ds4 we were trying for 4 years and had 4 m/c before him on my 3rd m/c i made an emergancy appt for doctor cause they will take tests after 3rd m/c to see whats wrong,but he pulled his chair right up and shouted in my face what the hell do you want me today and why did you make an emergancy appt.i just got up and ran out of his office crying.some dr's can be very unsensitvie.

i would wait a few days and go back to see another dr xx

I am going through the exact same thing at the moment, last AF was on 9th Feb, should have been due 13th March and still nothing.
I have taken a few tests, all of which have been negative.
I went to the doctor yesterday who couldn't understand why I was there, helpfully informed me (in a rather patronising tone) that periods don't run like clock work, that I had caused it myself by being too stressed (i'm not overly stressed at the mo) and I should come back to him in 3-4 months if I still haven't had a period.
I found out by googling that sometimes a woman can just miss a period for no particular reason, apparently if you go more than one month then you should be more concerned which is easier said than done!
I'm going to wait until next AF is due and if I still haven't come on I will be going back to see another doctor.

thanks for all your replies. sometimes its enough to know your not alone isnt it.

my cycle is 28 days every month. i dont have pcos. not lost or gained weight, not stressed about anything(all resons the internet say could cause it). not trying for a baby so its not wishful thinking. all my pg's have shown up on tests from period due date including the one mc.

the doctors are really shit arn't they.there is only one at my surgery so i cant go and see another one. gina that is really awful of yours to shout in your face like that. unbelievable. i thought being uncaring was bad yours was downright rude.

Im about a week away from being due again now so i'm thinking it may just show up as normal next week. wouldnt know what to do if it didnt. I'm still at a loss as to how it can just go missing for a month though. what do they think they are playing at. bloody periods. At least i'm not trying for a baby that would just be tortourous to be clinging to hope for so long.

Let me know how you all get on. and i will update also. thankyou ladies. x

I am the same here, came off the pill had 3 'normal' cycles of 28 days each. Then Af was due on the 14th March...........and nothing, I kept thinking it will happen soon, so then I did a test on the 19th, it was BFN, and another one a week later also BFN. I dont 'feel' pregnant, but there is still no sign AF?!

I am in a similar position also. I have had all the signs that I am pregnant but when testing it comes up negative.
My last period was 11th Feb and am a 28 day cycle. still have had nothing.
My signs however are very strong, I feel sick at the thought of food and some smells make me wretch (sorry maybe TMI) I have severe heartburn at times, back ache, headache, extreme tiredness and also sore and heavy boobs with what I can call weird bumps that I have never ever had before. I am in a very confused position as tests have come up -ve. Grrrrrr I wish I could find the answer. I don't want to go to the doctors and ask them why as I feel like I will just be wasting their time and they aren't the friendliest bunch I have to say

hello moffit and han. its a really odd position to be in isnt it ?

no-one ever tells you that you can just completely miss periods altogether do they. It really starts to play on your mind after a while. I'm nearly at the point where I am due to have another one. How can they just totally run away for a month. I did a test again on monday and still a negative result. I'm trying hard to just forget about it and believe things will return to normal next week.

Moffit I'm the same as you I dont 'feel' pregnant and that says a lot to me. thats the only part thats keeping me sane really. I would recognise the symptoms.

Han. To me you have all the classic signs really but then you would think you would have had a positive test result after this amount of time wouldn't you. Maybe going to the doctors might be a good idea for you. The only thing my doctor did ask was did i think I was pregnant when I said no he was no longer interested in what might be delaying it. You however seem to have all the usual symptoms. It might be worth chasing up with yours. I would ask to see the nurse myself rather than a doctor.

We will have to keep each other updated and see who gets an answer one way or the other

Maccie, it is bloomin frustrating and that is putting it nicely! I hate the not knowing. I am usually regular whch makes me think even more so but then after getting a negative result I just thought maybe I'm not and tried to put it to the back of mind but it is still playing on me! I think it may be worth going to the nurse and see what they say. I just hate doctors and think like I said that I am wasting their time.

I don't understand how a period can jus stop for 1 month then come back fine as if nothing happened after!

I shall keep you all updated once I have brought myself to go to the nurse and see what she has to say :) x

Nothing from me either. My DH and I discussed this all week and we have decided that if nothing has changed by Monday, I will do one more test before making an appointment with the nurse at my surgery.

Anyone else got any advice or ideas on what they plan to do?

my last test was saturday and I have resisted the urge to do anothr since then but I'm going to do another tomo. I'm due again within the next few days though. If its still a no on the tests and it still doesn't turn up I have no idea what the next step is as my doc was so unhelpful. I hate this being in limbo. So I would also like to know anyone elses plan ????

Nothin from me either apart from increasing signs such as a disgusting taste in my mouth, weeing hell of a lot more, extreme gassing and bubbling in my stomach. I hate this. I think I am going to do another test next week as I as well am due in the next week or so. Maybe I am one of the unlucky people who get symptoms very early on in pregnancy and so when I tested it was too soon

Will keep all posted though :)

On a good note......its the weekend :) yippeeee and the sun is shining (where I am anyway!)

iam fine.iam defo pregnant :o,went to doc on the monday she did blood tests came back that i was and cause i did a clearblue digital on saterday and that came up no,i did one yesterday and came up 2-3 weeks.iam so happy but very scared as this is the first glimmer of hope since my ds and long awaited for 3 1/2 years trying.i really hope you get your BFP!! as i told emma i will cross fingers,toes,legs arms and anything eles i can cross for you both, GOOOD LUCK XX

Oh yay :) congratulations!! At least tht is 1 person out of us all who finally has a result :)
I have had a horrible taste since probably Tuesday or Wednesday. Not nice at all!!
I am due any day now so just a case of waiting and seeing now though and hopefully get an answer soon.
Im not TTC bt wud b bloomin xcited if i were pg :)
Hope we all get some news soon. Everything crossed 4 u all. We may end up being bump buddies and due around same time :) x x

congratulations gina. really happy for you. were not actually trying for a child my af has just left town for some reason. i'v done another test today and its still saying no. not had an af since 5th of feb and now its 2nd of april. always had a 28 day cycle. just confused now really.
