Morning all! Sorry to see so many new people here. Welcome though.

All's well here, ds got into his first choice school, so that's good. I am currently approaching ov, I think, am day 17ish. Dtd last night, but haven't had a + on an ov stick yet.

I went to see my SIL's baby the other day, which was lovely. I only cried a little on the way there, and not at all when I was there or after we left. yey me!

chloe enjoy your time off, take care.

cep sorry to hear about ds, but thats a step in the right direction-ish, at any rate? It's so hard hearing them cry, but he sounds like he's doing better than last week.

Fx for oli.

Hope everyone else is well.

Hello from epu! Am bored witless so thought I would drop in and say hi. Waiting to see if everything has gone so fingers crossed. Hello harassed and welcome sunshine. Chloe that sounds like a fabulous thing to do and that is where I am now too, drinking, having the occasional cigarette oh but obsessively researching pg, mc, ov, antibodies, doctors, specialists and anything else I can get my hands on. Very distracting still. Cep sorry for what you are going through. Thumbwitch and harassed you ate certainly making me think twice about whether should wait to ttc until af or not. I was planning to wait but tbh I think I might have already ov anyway. Having found out that high thyroid antibodies can mean 50% chance of a mc I was wondering whether to ttc at all but have come to the decision that I will. If that means going through this again so be it, will just have to be strong. Hello to everyone I have missed, it's hard to respond to much on my iPhone. Wish me luck for the scan!

freelance - good luck for the scan.

harassedinherpants · 12/04/2011 09:41

Good luck flg! Sorry I've deserted the mc thread, I just find it very hard to on that board at the moment. I'm better on here!

yrmotb I'd just dtd every other day. I ditched the ov sticks after a few months. I think they're good in that they help you recognice when your body is ov'ing, but I found it was just another test to obsess over!

Bumpwanted · 12/04/2011 09:58

Morning ladies

Cep sorry to hear DS was up again Sad but hopefully after a few days of seeing the gate and knowing what's going to happen the crying will gradually get less (I have no knowledge of this but watched supernanny last night and they had a similar problem and the first few days were awful - like 4 hours of crying - but then it got less so fx for you!)

Chloe that sounds like a really healthy attitude. I think its so easy to become so fixated with it all. I had a few (well more than a few) drinks this weekend and it really took my mind off things and helped me relax.

Hi Thumb sorry for your losses. There are a few people on here who have tried again straight away so fx for you this month!

Hi Sun am taking pregnacare the same as Melies. DH is not taking anything. He's been less keen on starting to try now rather than a bit later in the year so I am trying to act all casual and let him know I am secretly obsessing about what we are eating etc! I subtly told him maybe he should drink less during the week and conveniently have made sure we don't get up early enough to have a coffee before work so at least that's something!!

Harhassed awh hun I know how you feel. My DH seemed to be "over" it a lot quicker than me. Its only natural for it to affect you more and I agree he probably thinks the best way to help you move forward is not to discuss it. I ended up blurting it all out in tears again the week I got my AF (big hormone surge!) so we chatted about it again then so make sure you don't bottle it all up. We're here for you if you need us!

Oli its still early days so fx fr you - keep us posted!

Hi to everyone else!!

xxx

freelancegirl · 12/04/2011 09:58

Thanks everyone! Yes I understand harassed that it's more positive thinking to be here, particularly as you are ttc again. I drop in occasionally too. So have seen the doc at EPU and they said there is indeed a bit of retained products, less than 2cm, but that it is not fresh blood therefore unlikely to cause any problems and probably come out with next period. Good news on that front is that I have ovulated (I knew I had - even knew it had been from the left side and identified cm so al pretty pleased I can hopefully now keep track of this in future) and should hopefully get af soon. They said af will probably be longer than usual but if it does anything really odd to go back. Otherwise, re ttc they said no reason why I can't start after af. I asked if it would cause problems if the clot stayed and I got pregnant and they said if it stayed I wouldnt get pregnant! So will have to keep an eye in that. Think I will come back after period for a scan anyway. But hopefully soon I will be moving my name up to the ttc list!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 12/04/2011 10:11

I used to temp, hihp but now only do 1 ov stick a day. I ov anytime between day 16 and 24, so find it quite useful! I have a freaky body..

Collie2 · 12/04/2011 10:17

Welcome sunshine so sorry for your loss. It's a lovely thread so make yourself at home. If you flick back a page I posted yesterday about supplements that I and dh took.

lily fx AF is a no show for you today .
chloe sorry about AF. Good for you having a break. Enjoy it! ...but please pop in on us!

ochaye yes I thought I recognised you from a few months back but you went quiet. I'm updiffed Smile and on the nov thread, I noticed your posts there. Early days for me still.

((hugs)) for harassed for being on cd 21 already. Fx for you again though. Sorry you feel dh has forgotten but I think cep could be right, maybe be he just doesn't want to bring it up. Men deal with these things so differently too. After my mc, dh seemed fine after a few weeks and I thought he'd forgotten. He hadn't, it was just he way of dealing with it.

mels hope work went quickly. How is the reflexology going?

cep good luck today. Sorry the gate didn't go to plan last night, it sounds so hard. Feel for you. X

yrmotb well done for not getting too upset after visiting SIL and new baby. Yay for ds getting first choice school too! How are things with you? Made any wedding or holiday plans?

good luck at epu freelance

I'm just hiding out in the staff room for 10 mins trying not to barf! Ms lasted all day and night yesterday, even had to get out of bed to throw up last night! Yuk! I'm soooooo tired, just want my bed!

Loup23 · 12/04/2011 13:15

hi hopeful1 glad I hve some company on the 2ww - really not feeling pg and trying so hard not to obsess and remember that I'm only on 6 or 7dpo! When are you testing? I was hoping to hold out until AF due but as this is my first month after mc i'm not really sure when that is! Maybe I'll wait until this weekend.......

olismum hope your bfp shows up soon, which tests are you using?

freelance hope AF comes soon so you can move to the ttc list

cep sorry to hear about DS, hope that passes and you get to have a peaceful night soon.

good luck with DTD this week bump

Waves and throws baby dust to all x

cep · 12/04/2011 14:46

afternoon all.

yrmotb glad visit went well.

chloe sorry about af, enjoy your break. Smile

mel hope you're ok.

flg glad epu were supportive, hope retained tissue does go with af.

well mw tried with the doppler but bean wasn't playing along. so will just have to wait for scan. Hopefully will get scan before parents come down beginning of may but i doubt it.

meliesmummy · 12/04/2011 15:06

Cep sorry your ds isn't sleeping properly, good luck for tonight!

freelance I was told similar (although not the ovulation part) so fx.

collie yay to symptoms! Sorry they make you feel so awful, sorry can't help with the secret vomming at work thing, maybe nappy sacks?

Fx for lily

How are you laylas?

Have a lovely chill out month Chloe, you deserve it x

harrassed hopefully cramps are a sign that things are getting back to normal.

well done on the school yrmotb, we had similar for dd, we've got a nursery place for sept but unfortunately that doesn't guarantee us a school place for next year - our first choice school is in a different catchment area, t
Although still walking distance (just).

Good luck holding out loupe

Hello to bump olis sunshine hopeful and everyone else x

This af is awful! Really painful and heavy, I'm guessing it's been building up for a while! Im hoping it'll lead to a good clear out. Work was awful, no morning break so I'm so so tired!

OP posts:
Bumpwanted · 12/04/2011 15:31

Cep sorry the test couldn't provide any reassurance. I am sure though that you will have a fab scan when the time comes. I don't know what the protocol is at this stage for POAS - is it worth while to see if it says a higher number of weeks - might make you feel better?

Collie sorry to hear the symptoms are making you feel so rough. Never thought I would be jealous of someone with morning sickness but I am!! Wink

Loup good luck on your 2ww!

Melies yes I think it sounds like the system is getting a good clean out so you will be ready to go next time! Sorry you are feeling so tired. Can you put your feet up now?

Freelance I think you are right to get it checked out after AF but it all sounds pretty positive!

Hi everyone else! I can't wait for work to be over today. I just want to go home and sleep. I feel so tired today! xx

meliesmummy · 12/04/2011 15:36

Sorry Cep, meant to say naughty bean for hiding! Don't worry though, it's very hard to pick up so early.

Is it normal to soak sn orange tampon in less than an hour?!

OP posts:
olismum23 · 12/04/2011 15:38

Stupid pound shop test bringing up lines that disappear!!! They are evaps im sure i dont even feel pregnant this month at all!

I will test Sunday when period is overdue with CB digital chloe you are my kindred spirit I am drinking going on the sunbeds and dying my hair next month and no supplements nothing!!!! my head needs a break!!!

hopeful1 · 12/04/2011 15:58

Melies sorry to hear about painful af I hope it doesnt last too long

Olis I wouldnt rust any cheap hpt, only the best for us girls

Loup obssessing would be an understatment. I also dont feel pregnant but every twinge is a symptom. How can 2 weeks go so slowly. I promised my acupuncturist I wouldnt test until day 14 next wednesday (if I can make i that long) how about you??

Collie hope you start to feel a little better soon

Hello to everyone else

hopeful1 · 12/04/2011 15:59

olies dont know how I got rust from use

Bumpwanted · 12/04/2011 16:35

Melies what day of AF are you on? If its day 1 and you are like me then I can't use tampons for the first couple of days. Def couldn't have for first AF post MC.

xx

meliesmummy · 12/04/2011 17:06

I'm day 2. Yesterday was ok, I managed with green always but since I got up at 2 ive soaked 3 tampons (orange) and 3 towels. I have had awful periods before but this is worse. Im assuming it's the last of my pg lining. I've sent dh out to take dd to her swimming lesson because I'm scared to leave the house, thank goodness I'm not working tonight!

OP posts:
freelancegirl · 12/04/2011 17:41

Collie I love the idea of having to nip off at work for a secret mn and secret vom! Well, obviously it isn't much fun but the thought did make me chuckle. And it is all for a good reason. I remember that first stage as being realyly hard though and I imagine it will be a lot harder with the worry post-mc.

Thanks for all the comments on the scan cep, harassed, bump, Loup, thumb, YRMOTB, Melies and anyone I have missed.

Melies Sounds to me that that is the last of the pg lining too. They told me today that the next period would be heavier. Hopefully mine will get here soon too, I feel really bloated and today wanted to consume entire contents of fridge in one door-opening. My PMS can tend to go on for weeks at the best of times though!

Something else has cropped up. I had an email conversation with a midwife at one of the testing centres have been referred to and she said please, please (twice!) don't ttc until you have started to see us as you will need to be on steroids to have a good chance of addressing the thyroid antibodies. Waiting lists are between 4-6 months!!!! Not sure what to do. Had made the decicision earlier to risk a mc and ttc again after af but they seem to really think I shouldn't Confused

Choices are: Wait as they say, get treatment and trust that their 85% success rates hold for me too. But get frustrated from waiting, worried about age, worry about not using that supposed post-mc fertility boost and also worried I will next time find it harder to conceive.

Don't wait and risk another mc as am not being treated properly and have 50% chance of one.

I guess there are some pros of waiting: Get to drink and go out and not feel sick and tired, get to feel a bit more positive that next time it might work, get to not panic about another mc for a few months...

So confusing. I really wanted to join you on the ttc list! It's not all about the list I know, but you know what I mean.

meliesmummy · 12/04/2011 17:47

freelance could you go private and get seen quicker? To be honest I would do anything to reduce the risk of another mc, I just couldn't stand the thought of going through this emotional and physical stress ever again, so if it was me I would wait, but I can see where you are coming from and I understand your frustration. You know what you can cope with though, what does your oh think?

OP posts:
freelancegirl · 12/04/2011 17:58

She was quite hurried in the second email when she mentioned this (she wrote quite a bit but i am deducing that from the writing) but in this email she did say that the 4-6 months waiting list WAS the private list!! It's for Mr Shehata. Am wondering if she got this wrong as she was in a hurry...?

Minnie74 · 12/04/2011 18:52

Hi everyone

sunshine welcome and sorry for your loss-everyone is great on here though.

freelance that sounds really frustrating. 4-6 months for private-nightmare. I guess you know how you'd cope with either option- do what feels right i guess.

Just wanted to let you know that I finally caved in and tested. It's a BFP!!!!!Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I so can't believe it Shock and am more than a little bit terrified. Have had weird pains all day, one in my side which is just like one i had with the mc in nov. No bleeding though which i hope is a good sign. Just hoping to get past 6 weeks and then can work on bigger milestones.
It's a bit hard sharing the news when I know how full of mixed emotions it is-we're not telling anyone in rl till later this time (though their and your support after the mc was fantastic).

fx for lots more good luck xxx
