I started another bus! I can't believe we got full so soon :o

From the last thread:
"He has said - 'no gym, no sex' - that'll do it!"

:o

OMG I love your DH, he sounds hilarious :)

Thanks Spidookly - but I'm going to exercise some of your self-control and not POAS until AF is actually due (Monday). £9 is too much to spend on an early response test more than once a cycle...

But I've just had some good news: apparently my grandmother's stroke last night was caused by a blood clot, and she's now "back to normal" (say the doctors), and being discharged tomorrow. It's so sad, though: my grandfather died last year after a series of strokes, and she's so lonely without him. I visit when I can, and she's surrounded by family (she had 6 daughters and 1 son; and they've almost all had 2-3 girls each, with a tiny sprinkling of boys - so I think it must be my genetic destiny to have girls too!), but it doesn't make up for losing her husband after 65 years of marriage, poor thing.

maybebabyR · 24/03/2011 16:09

Ah, that's so sad molly

But brilliant news that she is better. She must be a tough cookie!

blushingm · 24/03/2011 16:09

that's good news molly!!!!

my boobs huuuuuuuuuuuurt - feels like bruises but inside, not on the skin

I;'m tired and feeling a bit sick and quite light headed this afternoon and sweaty ---- but i think i am just hoping and hoping

blushingm · 24/03/2011 16:10

i meant the being discharged not your grandfather passing away - sorry

Tanif · 24/03/2011 16:11

Molly that's good news that she's being discharged :)

blushing all sounds positive!

maybebabyR · 24/03/2011 16:12

That all sounds good blushing

spidookly · 24/03/2011 16:13

:o

Not really, I just want the entertainment of some nice BFPs to get me through the crampy AF days :o

I'm so pleased to hear about your grandmother being better :)

My grandfather died last year too, and my Granny's really gone downhill since. She's a formidable woman in many ways, but after 65 years together Shock I'm not sure she really knows what to do without him :(

Love'y that she's so many people around her to love her and take care of her :)

OP posts:
MollyDefoe · 24/03/2011 16:14

I just cannot imagine a relationship of 65 years. Amazing! thanks so much for all your kind comments, everyone :)

spidookly · 24/03/2011 16:15

Yes, blushing nice to hear you're feeling so awful :o

Now let's hope it's all in a good cause :)

sevendwarves · 24/03/2011 16:15

Glad she's ok Molly

spidookly I have spots as well

spidookly · 24/03/2011 16:16

Damn those spots

OP posts:
whitegold · 24/03/2011 16:20

Molly great news that your grandmother is going home. Your family sounds lovely and very supportive Smile

spidookly I know the feeling - I hate being stuck in the af days where you can't join in the fun of symptom spotting!!

rew108 · 24/03/2011 16:32

blushing I know the exact sensation of 'bruises on the inside' of your boobs. I had that very early with DS and thought it was an infection of some kind! its your milk ducts doing something or other. I hope it is a sign.

Mine have not been that painful, but they are a little tingly and feel bigger. I had a massive wave of dizzyness and headachey sickness today and feel nackered. Still eating alot! I am worried that I am really over sensitive and just convincing myself of these symptoms, i'll feel really stupid if I don't get BFP...
Do you actually get symptoms this early...i have 8 days till AF due
aw man!

Poppyjen · 24/03/2011 17:03

tingly boobs here too rew, and waves of nausea. Absolutely shattered too which was the worst symptom of early pregnancy for me with DS (when I used to have to go for sneaky power naps in the disabled loo at my office).

I still have loads of creamy cm too, although cervix definitely feels firmer today, still quite high up though.

New symptom for today - heightened sense of smell. Seriously, I can smell everything....I walked in to the kitchen and thought that someone had sprayed perfume in there but it was just DS' fromage frais pot on the worktop waiting to be thrown away. Don't even get me started on the cats' litter tray...that one's a job for DH I think...

I know what you mean about feeling all of these things and then the thought that it may be a BFN after all... But I think that it is better to go through this process hopeful and positive than to subscribe to the "don't get your hopes up" mentality. Positive thinking is the way forward ladies Grin

rew108 · 24/03/2011 17:16

i agree poppyjen. I know that every time I think of testing early that when I have done it I always wish I was back in the hopeful stage, at least it;s a little exciting rather than just dissapointing!

Talking of smell, I had to actually cross the road when I came near our local kebab take away!

I am so glad I am going to be off work if i get PG again, i was doing 12 hour days in a risky environment with my first!

fx

LB1982 · 24/03/2011 17:17

My symptoms today - Peeing like a racehorse!! Is that a valid one? Or am I just uber looking out for every possible sign!? My AF not due until 5 April so I've got ages and the wait seems to be going soooooooo slowly :( I don't think I can handle it!

spidookly · 24/03/2011 17:22

"But I think that it is better to go through this process hopeful and positive than to subscribe to the "don't get your hopes up" mentality."

Absolutely, although I think I might be taking a bit far.

I keep thinking "ooooooh, nausea and sore womb" and then remembering I need to change my tampon.

:o

Poppy - heightened sense of smell was my first sign with DD1. DH and I were in a shop on the Isle of Harris and the smell of the perfumes they sold made me feel faint.

rew - that's it exactly! :)

Well said sister "I know that every time I think of testing early that when I have done it I always wish I was back in the hopeful stage, at least it;s a little exciting rather than just dissapointing!"

PopsyWind · 24/03/2011 17:25

Glad to hear your grandma doing ok molly

Seems to be some promising symptoms around the bus - fingers crossed for more BFPs soon!

I've got a superdrug for testing tomorrow morning . Trying not to get too hopeful cos DH was away most of the month but now I've convinced myself that I'm usually more ratty at this stage when AF is due... hmmmmmm

sevendwarves · 24/03/2011 17:53

I've just ordered some Internet cheapies, don't tell spidookly.

Iggly how many dpo were you when you got your first faint line?

weimy · 24/03/2011 17:56

Glad your grandma is better molly.

(checks pants furtively) still on the brown stuff Angry

Obviously no children but the dogs get full name when naughty or full name and surname if they are being just downright outrageous!

xstitch · 24/03/2011 18:09

Glad your Gran's a bit better Molly.

I nearly bought tests today. I was saved by the shop being sold out of the cheap ones.

MickyLee · 24/03/2011 18:51

Just had some very bad news.

Don't know if you remember I told you about my SIL who has had many M/C over the last 18 months, all at 8 weeks. I didn't want to get pregnant while she was struggling so much.

Well she was 17 weeks so thought it was safe to TTC myself and just found out she has lost the baby today :(

Oh dear god I hope I am not pregnant now!

I am going to call her in a minute. What should I say?

Oh Micky that's terrible, I can't imagine what that's like to go through. I don't have any advice for you - I wouldn't know what to say! Just remember that if you are pregnant this month I am sure that your SIL would be delighted for you so that should be the last worry on your mind.

I am sure there are no words that will make her feel better right now, but I am also sure that knowing there are people who care and are there for her will help her to be strong.

Sad
Nell799 · 24/03/2011 19:26

That's good news about your gran Molly .

Thats very sad news about your SIL Mickey . Do they know what went wrong ?

Just chaged AF due date as was totally out . I bought first response, meaning to test tomorrow , but did one any way and got another faint line , and have been feeling dizzy , but AF due in 3 days and have period pains . Can AF win a 'battle' over pg in early stages ?

Testing again tomorrow .
