I started another bus! I can't believe we got full so soon :o

From the last thread:
"He has said - 'no gym, no sex' - that'll do it!"

:o

OMG I love your DH, he sounds hilarious :)

Morning dolly I'm sure it says on the box somewhere to try not to determine anything by the lines but there's bound to be something on a google search explaining them!! But if you're been SWI every other day since CD5 then i think you've given yourself a pretty good chance anyway!

vegas we started on CD8 this month and CD10 last month. I think it depends on your cycle length when you need to get cracking, and also if you know when you normally ovulate. We've been at it since CD8 but think I only ov'd yesterday - CD25!!

Am SO tired this morning, think my busy weekend, clocks changing and late night SWI sun/mon are catching up with me Blush and a busy day at work ahead too Hmm

MickyLee · 29/03/2011 08:25

Congratulations harty

Great weightloss seven Well done!

thinking At least you can get on wÅŸth the treatment without complications. When do you have the next appointment so you know where you stand?

Dolly Ooo intresting information. Plus Dh is muslim so can always tell him he can't have it until CD10 when not TTC to get a few extra nights off Grin

hartey · 29/03/2011 08:42

Again thanks everyone! We started trying in January so were lucky in our second cycle - am going to try and read as much of the prior posts as possible so I can get up to speed

Is it a mixed thread for pg peeps and ttc peeps?

sevendwarves · 29/03/2011 09:04

Thanks ladies.

BFN this morning but still early for me, will test again in a couple of days try waiting until AF is due.

BoogiesBunny · 29/03/2011 09:11

Morning all - quick question... When you use a cheapo PG test does the control line appear immediately and then you have to wait for another line appearing below it shorty after? seven I was BFN as well this morning, still 4 days until AF is due but not feeling hopeful.

Welcome hartey and congratulations! I think this began as a thread for those ttc but some of our lovely graduates are still around to advise us symptom spotters and keep us updated on how they are.

Tanif · 29/03/2011 09:18

boogies my understanding is that the control line appears first to let you know the test is working, and the test line appears after. Though I suppose if hcg levels were high enough the test line could appear simultaneously.

BoogiesBunny · 29/03/2011 09:20

Got it - thanks tanif!

Tanif · 29/03/2011 09:30

I've decided I'm going to be strong. AF is due next Tuesday but I shan't POS unless she ends up being a week late.

BlueCrane · 29/03/2011 09:45

ooh tanif nerves of steel...spidookly will be proud of you and the rest of us slightly Envy of your ability to resist POAS!!

On the basis that I ov'd yesterday we SWI sun eve and last night and am trying to convince DH we need to do it again tonight and then he can rest for a while...poor thing never thought he'd be begging for a break Blush Shock and then I will def be in the 2ww though think it might be a bit less than 2 weeks going on previous cycles. Will be packing my internet cheapies and FR's for hols but will ask DH to lock the FR's away til next Thursday I think when I'll be 10DPO...feeling tentatively positive about this cycle but that might just be cos I'm excited to have (hopefully) spotted ovulation for the first time and managed to SWI at the right time! Smile

BlueCrane · 29/03/2011 09:46

PS seven v impressed with the weight loss Smile let's hope it helps!

Poppyjen · 29/03/2011 10:00

Boogies and Seven still BFN for me this morning too...I think I am 12DPO today so still clinging on to a tiny hope although I sense that nothing has happened for us yet. CD49 from pill withdrawal AF.

Anyone who has experience of using BBT and charting - can you start this at any point in your cycle or does it have to be started on CD1 (ie when AF has started)? I am thinking that this may be a good option for us to find out what is going on otherwise I will be spending horrendous amounts of money on OPKs...

Tanif I second that you have nerves of steel! If you can hold out that long you are my hero Grin

Tanif · 29/03/2011 10:00

It's so unfair that pregnancy symptoms are exactly the same as AF symptoms. Achey boobs, spots, feeling hungry... Not fair.

spidookly · 29/03/2011 10:06

hartey - you're very welcome to stay, but I think you've got on the wrong bus. I suspect you were looking for the December ante-natal club.

Stick yourself on stats though, as we'd like to claim your BFP as our own Wink

seven :( sorry about BFN this morning

Tanif - you're not going to test for a week after AF is due? How about a day after it's due? Don't be leaving the rest of us hanging on too long :o

Any word from Molly?

Sorry to hear about AF Thinking, I know it's good news in many ways, but it must still have been disappointing after all your efforts :(

OP posts:
orangehead · 29/03/2011 10:12

Thinking I can well imagine you having mixed feelings, our feelings dont always think practically so you bound to be dissappointed but it is for the best then we can get your self sorted and back to ttc efore you know it.
Welcome goingmadtrying, its frustrating isnt it. But it not over yet.
Well done on the weight loss seven.
Vegas, when do you tend to ov? If you ov around time that is considered the 'norm' starting swi on day 8 should be fine. I always ov early so we start swi as soon as af finishes plus ready for it then after a few days break Grin.
Dolly I didnt know that, my af only lasts 2 maybe 3 days I would be pretty miffed if I was told I wasnt clean till up to 10 days and would seem a really long time after af. Really dont think I could last that long without sex eitherBlush. Also some months I have ov day 8/9. So it obviously wouldnt work for a cycle like mine. I have not done any pooting so dont really know. Have you thought of trying temping either instead or as well.
Tanif, well done for holding out spidookly will be proud of you.
Poppyjen I have started this month, but I started on cycle day 5, not sure if that matters or not. I think ideally cd 1 is better but cant see why not a little later as long as before ov and early in cycle as you need to have a few days temps before ov so you can compare a rise. However I am no expert on this as only just started.

Poppyjen · 29/03/2011 10:23

Thanks orange I have no idea where I am in my cycle so I guess it won't do any harm to give it a go - who knows I may catch a random ovulation Smile if I still have no AF or BFP by the end of the week.

For everyone getting BFNs before AF is due (Spidookly avert your eyes...) I stumbled across this chart showing what HCG levels should can be on each dpo here

It is very interesting to see that levels can be extremely low until surprisingly late so I guess it should give us hope Smile

ThePippy · 29/03/2011 10:24

poppy you can start charting at any time, but you probably need to have a good few days recorded pre OV to see the temp rise pattern (the pattern is specific to an individial, so a high temp for me might be the norm pre-OV for you).

I recommend fertilityfriend.com, you can set up an account and use it to log your daily temp, and it does all the charting for you and even tells you when it detects you ovulated. They also have tutorials about charting and loads of Q&A which I found useful.

I bought a BBT thermometer from amazon for about £6 and it came with 20 free OPK's and 20 free Preg tests (all the internet cheapies) and so you can use the OPK's in conjunction with charting temp for a couple of cycles to get a good idea of pattern.

I have done charting for a couple of months and it was a real eye opener. Many of the assumptions/guesses I had made about my cycle were completely wrong. I am lucky in that my cycles are always very short (24-26 days) but I know if I had long cycles I would find the charting even more valuable.

I highly recommend it tbh - also gives you something else to think about while TTC.

Poppyjen · 29/03/2011 10:29

Pippy you are so right it will give me a "project" to concentrate on to distract me Grin I think I'll order one today - maybe as soon as I have received it and got all excited about charting I'll get a BFP and won't need it...
Wink

ThePippy · 29/03/2011 10:35

poppy definitely a good project and I can't recommend FF enough. This is what you get in terms of chart with them..

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/33a4db

I am very proud of my March chart as it is my BFP month chart Grin. You can also see my Feb chart below the march one and see that my temp started dropping before AF arrived which is a givaway that I wasn't PG (not that I needed the chart to tell me - no SWI at all that month!!)

FF also lets you track all sorts of other minor symptoms (cramps, headaches, Cervical Mucas, cervix position etc), so if you like symptom spotting in the 2WW it is a great way of tracking it all and then comparing month to month - because unless you have a great memory it is hard to remember I find.

Good luck with the BFP - at least £6 isn't much to loose if it proves a waste of money!

Poppyjen · 29/03/2011 10:39

Thanks Pippy Smile quite excited by prospect of getting to know what my body is up to now...it's been so long since it cycled on its own Blush

Congratulations again!

BoogiesBunny · 29/03/2011 11:07

Wow poppy that table is really interesting! Thanks for the link!

orangehead · 29/03/2011 12:03

oh my word I think the grapefruit juice works. Tmi alert - I usually only notice a small difference in cm when ov slighty stretchy but only millimetres and more watery. It been like this for years, used to check for all my other pregnancies. Anyway on 2nd month of grapefruit juice and have I ewcm that stretches several inches. The first time I have ever noticed it. Cant believe how excited I am about ewcm. Right def swi tonight even though dh full of a cold, poor man.

sevendwarves · 29/03/2011 12:08

boogies I wasn't sure about the answer to your earlier question, I waited about a minute after the control line showed earlier then put the test in the bin as I assumed it was a BFN.

Anyway after reading tanif's reply I got it out of the bin Blush and there is a very very faint pink line. I wasn't sure if I was just seeing it because I wanted to IYSWIM but DH is off work this week and he can see it too. Obviously though this was well outside of the result reading time. I've heard of other people having this happen and it turns out to be a very early BFP but has anyone heard of it ever turning out to be a BFN? An evaporation line crossed my mind but there is definitely no line on yesterdays test.

orangehead · 29/03/2011 12:13

Sounds promising seven, fx for you

sevendwarves · 29/03/2011 12:15

Thanks orange I might not drink anything for a few hours and try another one this afternoon. Sorry spidookly
