Hello, now I'm over the shock of a bfp can I pleaded join you? Already know some of you from other threads; waves to collie, wiw and cep.

I got my unexpected bfp on Friday after a bfn on monday! Was convinced I was out lol. Had a mmc & erpc in Jan so feeling pretty lucky to be here so quickly. This is number 4 for me.

collie so sorry to hear about your nan. Such a shock, even when you know its going to happen.

MummyAbroad · 20/03/2011 21:30

hi sunchild I remember you from the mc thread too. Hope you are well. xxx

Pink I guess the salt thing is really for when you are desperate and all other remedies fail. You can buy small squirty bottles of saline solution for the job or make your own (cooled boiled water from the kettle, dob of salt, you dont need much) Tip for all first time mums: you'll end up buying the premade sterile bottles in the baby section of Boots one day, they are great for unblocking a tiny baby's nose!

good luck tomorrow cep

my all day pukey feeling continues despite the medsSad I am getting so bored of sitting round the house all day waiting to feel better.

sunchild77 · 20/03/2011 21:32

Oh yeah Pink and Velvet and Mamap and Mummyabroad - Im thrilled to bits that yous are all on here :)

  • Where did Nix go? Off to a expecting board Im sure, (If you know let me know and I will stalk her ;) ) I really hope she is doing well too...

Oh I really really hope I can join yous here before long, but trying to be all chilled about it (doing Tai chi LOL) Will pop in again to see your progress again soon :)

Bye for now sweeties :)

Collie2 · 21/03/2011 06:58

Good luck for today cep will be lurking later to check on you x.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance on sharp pains, helpped alot. I never had them with my first pg, but dh keeps reminding me it's not a bad thing things are different as that didn't end well after all. Xx

OrangeGloss · 21/03/2011 07:04

Sorry this is a selfish post but I'll make up for it later...

My cold is going but I now have a sinus infection, I used Tiger Balm about 5 times max in 24 hours on my forehead, then suddenly thought I hadn't googled it. There are mixed messages but a big contingent saying steer clear. I won't use it again, but I'm really worried I've don't some damage :( It was the clear not red, I'm hoping a one-off use like that will be ok?

OrangeGloss · 21/03/2011 07:35

Just put something on pg board so I don't hijack this thread, I hope everyone's ok :)

banana87 · 21/03/2011 08:06

Hi all.

Can I join? I appear to be pregnant (again). Eeeeek. BFP on digital this morning so I think I have to come to terms with it. Being chill at the moment and hoping to stay that way...

wombatinwaiting · 21/03/2011 08:22

waves madly to harassed! And welcome to you too banana and congrats.

Sorry to hear re: the all day nausea mummya - must be exhausting....

I'm no expert orange but as you say, I'm sure a one-off would be ok. Beans have been subject to things far, far worse than tiger balm and have turned out absolutely fine. Please don't think I'm dismissing your fears, just hoping to offer some reassurance.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better collie and dinner at your mum's sounds just the comfort you need right now.

Best of luck for today cep.

Here's hoping you'll be with us soon sunchild Smile

wombatinwaiting · 21/03/2011 08:23

By the way, I picked up the prescription this morning for cyclogest (1 x 400mg per day) and asprin (1 x 75g per day) and feeling quite positive about it all.

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 08:31

orange I'm sure it's fine. If you look on google you'll find doom mongerers telling you to avoid basically everything but I doubt you've done any harm. Maybe time to crack into mummya 's saltwater trick???

mummya sorry you're not feeling any better-do the drugs take a while to kick in?

wiw good work! Glad you're feeling positive too.

Good luck CEP I'll try and sneak back later for news.

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 08:35

Oh and welcome to harassed and banana! make yourselves at home

OrangeGloss · 21/03/2011 08:55

Thanks, I'd googled Lockets and Vicks all looked good so have used for the past week. Then I rang the pharmacist in a panic this morning, she said stop using but try not to worry about past usage. Salt water helps but not the under-eye sinus type area. Oh well...

I just feel so annoyed with myself, I so desperately want to do everything right

harassedinherpants · 21/03/2011 08:57

Good luck to Cep!

Hi everyone and thank you for the welcome. Still in shock as really didn't expect a bfp so soon after mmc, but have lots of symptoms arrive over the weekend (nausea and tiredness) so guess I really am! Seeing my kinesiologist tonight to get checked over, I think I have her to thank for both my bfp's actually.

Pink I think you're talking about a sinus rinse? My dh has chronic sinus probs and had several ops and his consultant insists his patients use them. The mix is salt and bicarb, and the recipe can be googled. They used to sell the Neilmed one that dh has in Boots, but not sure if they still do as it's not showing as online. They do them from Amazon though. There was a thread in Chat the other day.

Wiw glad you have your meds, and are feeling positive Grin.

So, new bfp'ers what dd do you have? Mine is 22 Nov.

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 09:05

Also wiw feel free to message me if you need to talk about cyclogest. I won't clog thread with it but if you're putting in your fanjo, definitely use panty liners. Also, don't be afraid to put them in your bum instead, it's not as bad as you think and actually a lot easier Blush

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 09:08

orange would a cold flannel across your eyes help? Or a bag of frozen peas?

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 09:09

Or steam inhalation? Also I'd definitely see if your acupuxturist will give it a go.

OrangeGloss · 21/03/2011 09:11

Thanks I will Grin

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 09:18

sunchild am here my lovely, just quiet these days Grin good to hear from you and i really hope you have your spark back lovely xx

Congrats to even more newbies - WOW! Tis the year of the BFP! Busier on 'ere than the TTC fred now!

orange dont worry :( am sure a teensy bit wont hurt and that the bean is a bit more resilient than teeny bit of tiger balm. Are you suffering from pregnancy rhinitis? (congestion) I have been phlemy since conception...yuk! Would eucalyptus oil help (stronger than olbas) peppermint oil is also good and the two make a good combination esp when with lavendar too.

20 week scan today...yikes! Baby bean was belting hell out of me during the night... obviously liked the two cornettos i had before bedtime... Grin FX everything is ok xxx

harassedinherpants · 21/03/2011 09:40

Ladies please don't use lavendar oil in pregnancy unless it's very diluted in a carrier oil or bath or similar......and not at all during the first trimester. Personally I wouldn't use it at all. It's recommended during labour, for increasing contractions.

(Not an aromatherapist, but did course a few years ago.)

mattsmama · 21/03/2011 09:55

harrassed thanks for that. I am looking into ways to relax (very hard at the moment!) and I will steer well clear of that. Are lavender smelling bubble baths unsafe as well? I'll probably avoid them to be on safe side as well actually! Has anyone tried yoga and does it really help you relax? I do find it really hard to unwind. Any tips gratefully accepted! Smile

harassedinherpants · 21/03/2011 09:58

I did yoga for a while and loved it, but it was hard work!! What about meditation?? Takes a bit of practise, but worth it. Reiki is fab too, but can make you a bit emotional after the first few sessions.

Will dig out my aromatherapy book tonight and see what I can find.

Massage is also a big no in first trimester, and then only by a properly qualified practitioner.

I'm a bit of a hippy/alternative freak! Did you notice??

Youremindmeofthebabe · 21/03/2011 10:10
mattsmama · 21/03/2011 10:13

Ha ha - I'll forget about the yoga for a while then ! I'll give the meditation a try and I have heard about Reiki - might try that later on though as I am a bit emotional at the moment anyway what with all the hormones etc Grin

I know who to ask now - I think all the alternative stuff is great - I am just not that clued up on it all (but I now know someone who is Grin x

mattsmama · 21/03/2011 10:14

cep thinking about you

PinkFondantFancy · 21/03/2011 10:27

harrassed I'm properly into the alternative stuff since the MC! What oil would be good for relaxation? Also where can I get burner and carrier oil from? Amazon?

mattsmama I've found EFT a complete lifesaver-google 'emotional freedom technique'-it looks weird but give it a go, free and v good!!

Lurky lurk for CEP

Good luck nix hope you're ok-your quietness is freaking me out! Grin
