Newgolddream · 03/03/2011 20:21

Sorry jaggy Sad

Good luck 8bossy* with whatever you decide to do, togive everyone hope, heres my ttc history.

Concieved DS 1 about 6 months after coming off the pill, I was 22 at the time, hes now 18 in a few weeks!

DS 2 was planned(with a new partner) and I remember charting (although it was with a mercury thermometer, cant remember how accurate results were lol). Anyway he took approx 18 months to oonceive, was beginning to give up hope, I was 31 at the time.

Thought our family was complete and was 37 when we decided to ttc again, wasnt holding out much hope since DS 2 had took the time he did plus I was older, as it was it took about 7 months of charting to get my BFP.

And now at 40 Im back on the ttc treadmill lol, again not holding out much hope, have been ttc since last August.

But its just to show that even after a year it can still happen!!!

Newgolddream · 03/03/2011 20:22

Sorry for all the typos, I wish mn had an edit button!

twizzlestix · 03/03/2011 20:23

Thanks scrummy I do chart

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3001d1

Which is why I'm thinking it's related to my medication not an implantation thing cause it's dropped massively

jaggythistle · 03/03/2011 20:24

yes newgold, i'm going to 'reamin' positive, whatever the feck that is??

twizzlestix · 03/03/2011 21:06

Scrummy your earlier post about being temp robot made me Grin cause it's so the first thing I think about every morning!

Sorry AF arrived jaggy it's rubbish Sad but love that your DS was extra snuggly, maybe he sensed mummy needed some tlc :) I try to check cervix but I hmm and aah over it and end up forgetting. So I'm like 'is it high or medium?' and making self sore (did I share too much?)

Glad you're feeling positive about swi now newgold I've brought some preseed, thought it couldn't hurt to try. Has anyone used it? If Amazon reviews are anything to go by I'll be undiffed now just by holding the box Grin Grin

mrsden I tried for 5 months last yr but began to feel ill had bloods done and did have thyroid problem which I later discovered effects fertility. Upto that point even after 5 months I was beginning to worry and get really stressed over it. It's impossible not to worry especially when others in RL seem to 'fall' by accident/ first time.

mrsArch I too am enjoying hearing about peoples jobs so thanx

twizzlestix · 03/03/2011 21:07

Sorry for missing apostrophe was in phone and couldn't scroll down Blush people's jobs

jaggythistle · 03/03/2011 21:10

Oh yeah i used preseed first time ttc (sucess first preseed month!) and also this month. i figure it can only help. :)

You may be checking that cervix too vigorously Shock If I can't reach it properly I put high Grin

jaggythistle · 03/03/2011 21:11

you'd think there were grammar pedants watching you on this thread Wink

my phone inserts random apostrophes. wan't anyone??

Karbea · 03/03/2011 21:12

twizzlestix · 03/03/2011 21:12

bossy sorry you feel so low. Sorry if you've already posted this but how long have you been TTC number 2? I agree with scrummy apply for the job, pack away/car boot the baby stuff etc if that's what you feel is right and you never know sod's law may kick in! We're all here to listen though.

essenceofSES · 03/03/2011 21:23

essenceofSES · 03/03/2011 21:41

Thanks twizzle !
That's v impressive chocolate!

I feel such a failure!! Oh well another few weeks to focus on getting fit and losing a bit of weight...

Karbea · 03/03/2011 21:47

essence I know how you feel ((hug))

twizzlestix · 03/03/2011 21:48

essence listen very carefully...you are NOT a failure!! Now I'd recommend eating all chocolate, cakes, biscuits, cheese in house BEFORE beginning diet so you have opportunity to start with clean slate Grin no dieting during AF week . It's an official rule you know! And have this instead, it really is one of your five a day. Honest!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 03/03/2011 22:06

Ah jaggy and essence so sorry it's cd1. It's just not bloody fair is it?

I'm sure I'll be joining you on Sun/Mon. I am 8dpo and have zero symptoms at all. i think I may even be only 5dpo as I had a huge spike due to drinking which has thrown things out a bit.

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/MrsArch

I had acupuncture today, which was nice (if a bit sharp!). By complete randomness my acupuncturist is a fertility specialist, which I did not know when I first saw her, and she has just joined Zita West's 'circle' (whatever that means). Zita (think that's her name) is the London fertility goddess. Well she says that in order for things to flow and balance to be restored every month, women ttc should not use tampons and only use towels.

Hmm not convinced but I'll give anything a try!

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 03/03/2011 22:51

oh well, i started only using towels a few years ago, so woo. can't really remember why.

i don't really do diets but i can recommend Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin. read the amazing reviews on Amazon and thought, what's the worst that'll happen, it's only about a fiver.

i love it because it makes you think while you are eating instead of shovelling it in till the plate is empty. also you can eat what you want so no bad foods to avoid. the cd is quite relaxing too.

i am aware i sound like an advert but i did find it a refreshing change!

i was lucky to end up lighter after having DS and kept losing weight for a while. have started putting it on again so feeling a bit rubbish.

Karbea · 03/03/2011 22:56

essenceofSES · 04/03/2011 06:22

Morning!
Thanks for the hugs and chocolate thoughts last night! Sorry I disappeared, I decided best thing was to just go to sleep so I could wake up for another day. Feeling a bit better thanks. Temp dropped as expected although not below coverline and flow light/spotting so maybe tomorrow will be CD1 properly.

Scrummybumb · 04/03/2011 06:59

essence you did the right thing in getting some sleep and me time. I get terrible PMS and the two days leading to AF I have to hide myself from the world, cos i just cant cope. Always in floods of tears. but luckily it does go as soon as AF starts proper.

And there are no such things as failures when it comes to baby-making. I think we all fall into the trap of thinking we can somehow control it by making changes and charting each day, but we all know it doesn't work like that. So, here's the rule s I TRY to stick by:

  1. you are doing everything you can, I.e. I'm doing my best! My best is good enough. The rest is up to my body (and DH).
  2. It might not happen,so imagine how amazing your life can be even if you don't have children, travel, looking after your elderly, helping friends with theirs, charity work, career
  3. Do your best for those things you CAN control, work, home, hobbies
  4. Make plans for fun stuff you can look forward to - regularly!
  5. Laugh- as much and as often as you can

I also think that charting does put some extra pressure on you, so maybe a break every once and a while is what we also need.

essenceofSES · 04/03/2011 07:14

Thanks Scrummy - I am lucky as I already have DS. I'm trying not to be as obsessive as when ttc him but it's hard! I am really focussing on losing weight as I'm 12st5. Started trying to eat better 10 days ago and started weekly sessions with a friend who's a personal trainer and weekly Pilates. So far lost zero weight though Hmm
As for work, I feel v schizophrenic as at work, I'm career Richards and talking to my boss about development into my next role but inside I'm hoping I'll be going on mat leave!

I guess we all have similar feelings but it is good to be able to share on here :)

Scrummybumb · 04/03/2011 07:58

I know what you mean by career, I accepted a promo couple of months back and although I enjoy it, I still wish I'd be pg instead!

I've lost weight with weight watchers in the past - works every time. You can now do it online too so no need to attend meetings if that's not your thing (more online charting though)

thizzle I'll have a look at your chart properly when I gt home tonight (on phone)
