level are you being consistent about when you take your temps? If not that might explain why your temps are so up and down. I find even 30 mins makes a difference to mine, so I have to take it at exactly the same time every day. I think it affects some people more than others.

Don't even look at my chart it's terrible, apparently having a low battery can affect accuracy and mine has been flashing LO since the day I got it Hmm avoided buying a new battery out of principle with it being new but will have to find the instructions and see what kind I need. Regardless of that though if theres an egg and swi then it doesnt matter what the chart says Smile

Can I join? DP and I are TTC#1, on cycle 1 of trying (but cycle 2 of charting). shakes hands all round, kisses cheeks, introduces self etc

Apparently 'Lo' just means the thermometer is ready to use (www.babyhopes.com/digital-basal-thermometer.html). I had the coil removed in January, and for the first month, my chart was fine - clear temperature shift and ERTD 15 DPO - which was a real relief, as I'd been on the pill before that and hadn't had "real" AFs for over a decade. But this month, my chart has gone INSANE. Temps all over the place, from 35.8 one day to 36.8 the next. Should have ovulated 3 days ago, and had one day of temperature rise, but they went right back down after that. Poor DP is getting a bit weary of me leaping on him at every opportunity! :) I just hope it's only my body getting used to no contraception, and that things will settle down in a bit....

Welcome molly Smile I think it can take a while sometimes for hormones to get back to normal after stopping contraception so that might explain your chart. Also, are you being consistent in taking your temp at the same time every day? Because taking at different times or after different amounts of sleep can really affect temps in some people, in others it has no difference. And alcohol or some medication can affect temps too.

Hi mrsden - I've been really rubbish at taking my temps at the same time each day this cycle. I've had quite a lot of late nights recently, and wasn't sure whether it was better to take temps at the same time each day, or after the same number of hours sleep - so I went for the latter. But that, combined with some boozy nights (I did try to stick to the 2-units-per-week rule, but spectacularly failed this cycle!), has probably resulted in the weirdo chart.

Gah... I am really annoyed (and unnecessarily so!)

I had Day 21 bloods done last week and phoned the GP practice today to get the results. Receptionist tells me they are all normal, so I start cheering and then think that it would be a good idea to ask for a printed copy of the results.... then I sen the DH to collect the printout.

So, he arrives home with the papers and I find that all the results are there except the hormone tests... LH, FSH, progesterone, testosterone & oestrogen... ie. the ones I really need to know about! So, I phone the surgery back and apparently they have no record of the other results so I am assuming they are not yet back.

So, now I have gone from feeling happy about normal results to panicking about what the rest of them say.

Also, stupid AF arrived today.

On a completely separate issue. I am thinking about taking Evening Primrose Oil this month which I think is meant to increase EWCM. Do any experts know how much I should take and how often?

I temp at the same time on week days unless I have to get to work early - weekends are a different picture.
I guess I'll just have to see if my temps go up tomorrow or the day after as I think ov was today.

Evening all! Back from hols, all nice and relaxed (sorry for gloating Sad). i was hoping I'd come back for some positive news, and there it was - A BIG congratulations Truffkin, I had a feeling about you.

MrsA glad to see you're still with us. I was really sad to read about your difficult birth though. Being your first too, must have been scary. Not at all surprised that you feel apprehensive. I do hope that this time will be different.
I've known from start it doesn't always go to plan (i apparently nearly killed myself and my mum and we both still carry the battle scars - she could never conceive again and i've got on-going respiratory problems, which by the way is the reason I temp vaginally, which in turn might explain my higher temps). Sorry, didn't mean to scare anyone....
I also learned over the weekend that my mum gt menopause at 40! I'm 38! So the panic button was hit, but i must have been psychic, as I'd just ordered home FSH tests, so jumped at it this morning - BFN! (yes, got a little home lab going here)
weimy still keeping my FX for you for your job. Have you got a plan B?

Hi auntied I've been doing lots of googling about tests (and Dr Google might not be reliable..) but the impression I get is that day 3 tests are better for FSH and LH? Day 21 tests are more about the progesterone (which you should definitely get back from the GP). Have you had day 3 tests?

EPO - if you do a MN search there are a few posts about this. I think it would be regular dose (one capsule) every day until you ov and then you would stop.

Well just did a test (not FMU) and a BFN. Dunno what's going on - maybe being ill messed my cycle up. Will test again if nothing in a few days. Think I will have a glass of vino tonight to commiserate.

vintage that is strange....maybe you could just be a late riser in pg hormones...Wine...shared a bottle with DH last night, no idea when i ended up taking my temp, think i fell asleep again before the alarm went and forgot to note down the results....thermo claims it was same as day before...hmmm... decided best to ignore it for today...oh well, it's not crucial time so it won't matter....

EPO, I seem to have mine as part of my Omega 3,6&9 supplement,122mg. Aware that i shouldn't take after ov, so will need to get some more pure Omega 3 tablets. If i cant get pg, at least I'll be super healthy Smile

VintageN that is bizarre. What are your temps like today? (chart stalking!). Although, many people believe that you may not get a bfp until you are 18dpo. Certainly with DD I didn't get a bfp until cd43, I wasn't temping back then but my cycles show I ov between cd18 and about 25, so until af arrives, you are still in the game.

no temp for me today, was up at about 1am with poor DS and his latest cold and didn't think there was much point taking it then. turned out i didn't get 2 hours sleep in a row after that, never mind 3!

in TMI news, my cervix does seem softer so should be eggulating soon. have been on the daily SWI again this cycle, think poor DH is traumatised...

FX for a later Bfp vintage.

my ridiculous chart Confused

Ordered some new batteries anyway £1.59 for 10 with free delivery so bound to be good at that price Hmm If LO isnt the battery then I have no idea why my chart is so strange. This morning forgot to take my temp (amazing I had stopped thinking about it) and was awake at least an hour before I remembered. Though really was awake an hour before my usual temp time but went back to sleep - oh dear!

Got my silver lining booked in anyway. Should be seeing gyn with results soon then af is due. So if its all bad news then at least I can have a few Wine and let my hair down as have a night out arranged Smile

Morning (it is for me - 7 hours behind). Temp drop this morning and guess what? AF is here. So she just decided to mess me around this month - what a bitch! ;) I'm okay - disappointed of course but this month was always a bonus one as DH was originally looking likely to be away over my fertile time.

scrummy things not looking hopeful as I am a subject specialist, you get more points for teaching other subjects. So an English teacher will probably end up teaching my lessons. Makes me cross because they wont have my knowledge, ability or experience the kids will suffer.

I have no idea what's going on with my chart - I think it's even madder than yours, bossyboop! I should have ov-ed on Saturday (CD16), but felt ill all day - weird nausea and stomach cramps, which haven't entirely gone away. I wonder if that's delaying ovulation? jaggy - know what you mean about traumatising the other half. Mine looks permanently knackered at the moment!
