monkey fab news about the treatment!! And sounds like an absolutely lovely midwife, always makes such a difference to have lovely hcp.
I love that you love the dress thanks Grin I'm sure you'll love everything about the wedding then- I'll definitely post a couple of pics after the event :)
We are doing our own hair yes as my sis wants it very 'I've just run through a field' Grin I am banned from having a hairdresser as she really doesn't want it 'bridal' iykwim. I went to a friend's last week who showed me some ways I could pin it up so I just need to practise Confused
I just hate mine at the mo as it has so many flyaway fluffy bits :( but have been trying different things to tame them! I'm good at doing other people's hair just not my own, sigh.

Sorry, massive ramble about my hair Blush

I am making peanut cookies for our weekend away I was waiting for a friend to email me her recipe for them but she hasn't so I've had to make up my own and they are not as good as hers...but meh, a cookie's a cookie right?

My parting words of should be quieter this week, proved to be completely wrong! Have been so busy, and looking forward to the weekend even more than usual now. On the plus side the weather has been gorgeous, it makes such a difference.

Apologies to Sabs who I missed in my last post Blush hope you are well and forgive me!

Mermaid Thanks for replying, though can hardly call that an essay? Grin though it is probably the longest post about yourself I have seen you do, as you are usually doing the asking. Smile I can understand your reluctance to get the results, but hopefully whatever they show, or more likely not, it will mark a move forward. After all you have been through it is no wonder your body is messing you about. Having a year without a MC will hopefully have given you chance to heal a little and at least physically recover. Your head and heart must be in different places at times though? I did Grin at you videoing your DH if he has the chop, you are a wicked woman. I think you are right though, that if you do go down that route that it is your DH's turn to step up. A friends DH had it done recently and recovered very quickly. Shock at your useless doctor asking you to ask 4ever about the cyclogest! really helps you to put your trust in them doesn't it?!

Louey hopefully this weekend will be slightly easier for you, though being busy has hopefully helped you through this week. Hope you enjoyed abot of hair pampering and lunch with your DH.

cupcake really pleased that J is back to his usual happy self. Try mincing your chicken burgers back up and putting in another dish, must be frustrating after you have gone to all that effort for J to decide he doesn't like them. I second monkeys suggestion about having trial run at a hairdressers for your hair for the wedding. Good excuse for 2 trips to the hairdressers if nothing else Grin

moon hope you are having a lovely time at the wedding and making full use of the hotel, glad you had chance to speak to your sister. often helps to just talk things through. We will be here for you next week when it is head out of sand time.

monkey Hope you have a great weekend over here. So pleased that you have such a supportive and understanding midwife, will make all the difference especially now you have started fertility treatment etc etc etc. It's a really positive step that you feel able to talk about your angel boy a little easier now and it's good that you have friends who, now that you are more ready, will talk to you about it. often people can think they are being kind to not mention somebody's grief as if talking about it will suddenly make them upset rather than accepting that is just how they feel iyswim.

blue Loving my very own bold paragraph. It's all about me daaarlings Grin Hope your feet you have recovered from the weekend. i did Grin (nearly said Lol, but think that is banned on MN!) at your description of 'wear and tear' to vjay That's a lot of wear and tear after only 7 years! Enjoy your 3 fridays to yourself, what bliss.

vjay So sorry, can't help with the lump on cervix problem, have only this year worked out where mine is Blush Shame they couldn't get you in any quicker, don't they realise it plays on your mind and you just want reassuring that it is something like 'wear and tear' ! I am also clueless about coils and the talk of lost strings makes me want to stay clueless Shock

LBM see above re Coil and strings. Dildo cam was the last thing you needed to add to your pre holiday to do list and i have added this to my reasons not to have a coil fitted. Bet you are all getting excited about the holiday.

barbie Girls night out on a school night? Hope you had a great night and managed not to flash anyone!

neeko Well done to H for taking her first steps and how clever of her to wait until you and Dh were both together. Smile her party sounds like it will be fantastic. Easter eggs instead of party bags is just genius! Your DIY timescales sounds just like how it works in our house too.

Well, I am really well still. Still no real signs either way. Thanks to monkey for the advice about symptoms, or lack thereof, am doing well to not worry, with only the occasional, what if, moment. Was feeling more tired initially but now seem to have more energy than usual this week, which I am trying to also take as a symptom, rather than worrying. Have got my first midwife appointment next week, so to get to that will be a big step. I am feeling really happy and just don't want my bubble to burst! Right got to go and actually see my DH this evening, said i would only be quick...

QuestionableAntics · 24/03/2011 21:39

Sorry cross posted with you cupcake

might be easier with your hair to just err, run through a field then Hmm Grin

I did see the MN MC campaign. It is really good that they are trying to raise it again. Reading some of those posts brings it back and makes you realise how patchy the provision is. Sad

barbie1 · 25/03/2011 16:15

Hello,

Was meant to post last night but we have found a lovely lady to be our babysitter and she offered us a trial run last night...of course it would of been rude to refuse so i had my 2nd night out this week Shock.
I was so so nervous leaving D, it's the first time we have been out with someone looking after her who isn't my mum. She did well though, even managed to get her back to sleep when she woke up like clockwork at 11pm. She is also going to be our cleaning lady so D can get used to her in the house a few hours a week and means that we have someone who we can trust to help us.

Right, where to begin?

louey im so sorry i didn't come on to wish your boy's a happy birthday, hope you got my message on fb on the day. The party looked brilliant and the present is amazing, total sandpit envy! Envy Puts D's little table to shame...Glad you found the time to spend having your hair done and lunch with dh. How is bump?

mermaid Any news on the mad bint gym lady? I really do hope that something sorts out for you. D has bought some of the beach home with her today, so i'm contributing some sand for your plight...results, who said results? Wink
Another Emmsy who laughed at you videoing your dh having the snip Grin

vjayjay sorry, couldn't resist that link Wink

cupcake glad your dh ds is better and things are improving. I think i also forgot to say that i loved your dress. Looking back i wish i wasn't such a bridezilla and went for a more laid back approach to my wedding even though that wouldn't be me at all cos i love all the drama!. As for your hair, try plaiting it in about 4 sections, take the straightening irons and run down the plaits, undo them and you have a mess! Just like running through a field Grin No, really, it give your hair a nice texture and will be easier to pin up...Also works well on days you have a hangover and cant be bothered to do anything else...boho cool!

moon i saw something in a shop yesterday and thought instantly of you. It was a wall hanging that said 'Even miracles can take a little time...." (it's a line out of cinderella) I thought it was apt, you have been more than patient waiting for your little miracle but give it a little more time and it will happen, im very sure of it Hoping you have a brilliant weekend and have lots of fun.

monkey Smile Smile Smile As you might be able to tell im very happy for your new found status as a pin cushion, it's going to be worth it when you hold your precious lo ( i think you and moon are both going to have good news this summer Smile) I have stocked up on ikea vanilla candles, so i too would like to light one in memory of your darling boy, I hope he knows that people all over the world think of him and his brave, fabulous and lovely mummy. I have just been given a book on angles and it has a chapter on mc Sad im scared to read it but a very good friend said it will bring peace and it is a lovely way to think of such tragic events. When im brave enough to read i will share it with you all x

sabs i love the latest pictures on fb, little S is growing so much...a proper little girl Smile How is work going?

neeko well done H on taking some bottle Smile im struggling a bit this week Sad might be due to having two late nights (midnight, how very rock and roll!) but im shattered and teary...D is being a bugger madame and it's really starting to get to me. I hate being short with her but there is only so many temper tantrums i can take in any 24 hours. Her sleeping is terrible, not sure to go back to cc or to comfort her, her teeth are still coming through, 1 down 3 more to go...so i know there is an element of discomfort involved but she has become very needy, teary and have developed a piercing scream, coupled with her throwing herself backwards or onto the floor with thumping fist and kicking feet Shock this could be because i don't open the fridge fast enough, turn the pages of the book when she wants them turned, if i move her drink...etc etc. Terrible two's at 13 months? I think im more frustrated because im unsure what to do Confused
Ps, the trouble starts now with H walking! Grin

Nursery called me on sunday to go back to collect her as she just wouldn't settle, im sure it's teeth...but do babies really become little devils like this or have i made her into a brat Hmm

questions how are you now? If it helps any i didn't have any symptoms either at 7 weeks..i think they kicked in at 9 weeks for a few days and the tailed off, coming back at 12 weeks and lasting until about week 36 Shock I bet he/she is just trying to be good for you and not wanting to cause you any trouble or discomfort. I don't know what i would do re scan, im so very fortunate that we have private health care and could scan as much as i could pay for wanted. This is one of the reasons that we would like another while here to take full advantage of the insurance again.

blue you would be proud, im back at the gym and going for broke...I will be skinny (ish) again soon, i have no choice, i cant get a bikini to fit while im this size! Im doing body balance once a week, outside on the lawn of the health club, tis very nice...great views of the lakes and Dubai marina. I also attempted to do rpm cycle, thought it was 20 mins cycle, 20 mins abs and then some weights. How wrong was i? Shock Full on hour of cycling, my ass couldn't take it, walked like John wayne for about 3 days and i only managed to do 20 mins of the class Blush too much for me right now, heart was going all funny and im just not that fit any more, so im going to body pump...Sounds like that weather is improving, loving the vision of the little ones in shorts Smile

Iv'e missed plenty, apologizes...I need to sleep before i crack up...Poor dolly, i hope im a better mummy to her tomorrow Sad

xxxx

SabsFabulous · 26/03/2011 01:05

Hi ladies, I think an update is long overdue from me. Sorry I've been away for so long Blush yet again

barbie Stop it right now. You are a wonderful mother to D and don't ever think otherwise. D sounds very assertive with a strong personality. You are not doing anything wrong at all. When S has a tantrum, ignoring her for a while seems to work as she knows shes not going to get attention. S did get more clingy when DH went away for a week, which was also the same time she started with a CM a couple of times a week, so maybe changes with D's childcare might be affecting her in some way? Really wish I had the answer but will send you a big hug instead. Good to hear you've found a good babysitter and that you're having time to do your own things as thats important. As I said before, S started with a CM a few weeks ago to go there 1-2 mornings a week and I was quite nervous, like you, about her being with someone apart from family, but luckily she gets on well with her and what helps is that we get a diary of what she did, right down to information about what she ate and whether sh did a poo! (That book will be going into S's memories box). Thanks for your kind words about S - I do go mad with photo's of her, but its only because I'm so proud of her Smile. Work is OK, still feel so crazy tired at the end of the day and its going to get tougher cos now I have to work on Mondays from April after having them off since I've gone back to work Sad but I'm grateful I even have job to go to.

QA, no worries, you are forgiven Grin. I feel blessed peoople still remember me on here as I'm so bad with posting Blush I agree, the first booking-in appointment with the Midwife is a very big step. Hope it all goes well.

cupcake I like barbie's hair idea, might even try that one myself! My BIL is getting married later on this year, so will have lots of preparations to do for that. Sorry I missed that J wasn't well but good to hear he's feeling better. S goes through phases of going off food but when I try again a few weeks later, she likes it again Confused

monkey I'm so pleased for you that the treatment has started. I've got everything crossed for you. And I agree with the others, having a good MW makes such a big difference.

vjay Hope everything goes well with your appointment. Its reminding me that I need to go for a smear. I got the letter a few weeks ago, but having a smear brings back such bad memories Sad but I know it something I have to get done.

mermaid Nice chatting to you on fb the other day. Hoping you get the results you're hoping for.

moon Hope the wedding went well today. Did you listen to mermaid's advice and pinch the waiter's bums Grin

louey the boy's birthday party looked fab! And I'm very impressed with the sandpit. Hope you're keeping well.

neeko I cannot believe that H is going to be 1 already! Hope the party goes well. Would love to see some photos of H. Yay to a walking H as well Smile

lbm Have a fab time on holiday, I'm very jealous. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

blue I got married in 2004 as well Smile but in August. I'm going to nick your word 'sofalising', I like that and so need to do that every night afer work with DH, but sometimes I just end up falling asleep! Enjoy your Fridays and hope you're feeling better. When DH was away, I took the time to catch up on OBEM (which I'm now behind on again!) but I also bought The Notebook, having read the book but never watched it. I also ordered some 'classics' and sentimental films to me, like My Girl, Stardust, FaceOff, Barbershop, Interview with the Vampire, Save the Last Dance, Hangover, and I am Legend. Quite a variety but makes a change from the action and gangster films I seem to have in our collection!

4ever Have I missed your birthday? So sorry if I have Blush Hope you had a great time. If I havent missed it, Happy birthday in advance Smile I got so excited when I read about you and barbie thinking about TTC again! I'm trying to convince DH to maybe start trying again after S turns 2, but he's not fully convinced that its the right timeHmm

curly hope all's well with you and the family.

Waves to BQ, iggy, gracie, mrskate, jools, buddha, mls and our other lurking emmsys.

I dont think I wrote about when curly and I met up - bad Sabs [slaps wrists and hangs head in shame]. I got there late and curly had to leave early so it was a short but sweet catch-up, but lovely to see curly and curlygirl again. The best part for me was when Saara gave curly a massive hug when we met [melt] She's normally quite wary of strangers but I think she instinctively knew that curly is a very special lady.

I really hope they can achieve something with the MC campaign. I think when I joined MN back in Oct 2008, was just after the campaign kicked off.

Got a busy few weeks coming up which includes going for afternoon tea up West (as they say on 'Enders) as a treat for my best friends 30th birthday and then it will be my 30th birthday in 2 weeks time. S is growing too fast before our very eyes! She's picking up so many more words and can say 2 words together in both languages which I am very proud of. But our Mondays together are coming to an end Sad At least we have quite a few bank holidays coming up. Hopefully the weather stays nice then.

Really need to get to bed!

QuestionableAntics · 26/03/2011 16:52

Hi, hope you are all out and about enjoying the weekend, though shame the good weather didn't stick around for the weekend.

Sabs Boo to not having your Mondays, but hopefully the bank holidays will ease you in gently. How exciting that it is your 30th coming up and afternoon tea 'up west' sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon. What plans do you have for your birthday? Hope you get time for a mammoth filmathon with all those new films you have bought!

barbie Thank you for telling me your symptoms started at 9 weeks, think I have had a little more queasiness the last couple of days so might end up being similar to you. Glad you managed 2 nights out last week, good for you to let your hair down when you have had your hands full with Dolly. Sorry that you have been having a wobble, but she just sounds bright, inquisitive and determined, as well as being very advanced! Don't knock yourself, everyone questions themselves and how to handle difficult behaviour and it sounds like you are doing a great job. She is still only a baby. The only advice I can give is to try and stay calm (or pretend you are!) and distract, distract, distract. At that age, the plus side to temper is that it can often be quickly forgotten. The phase can go just as quickly as it came. Not sleeping won't be helping either of you though and makes it much more difficult for you to stay calm. Personally, I wouldn't do CC as I think it will just make a battle out of nighttime too, but I would go back to the more gentle baby whisperer style of things. Having said that, some people have such positive stories with CC Confused to you though.

Struggling with food the last couple of days, seem to only want to eat chips, crisps and bready things Blush , but really want to not put too much weight on as I had lost quite a bit of weight and am already really quite bloated. Jeans were a little tight today Shock If I carry on like this I will be I maternity clothes before I know it! Grin

QuestionableAntics · 27/03/2011 18:09

Wow, it really is quiet on here this weekend. Hope you are not recovering from being fronked last night. Grin

Neeko · 27/03/2011 22:03

Hello. Had a mad but lovely party here today. My baby girl was a star! We bought her first shoes yesterday, so she got out in the garden with her cousins which she loved. She was really spoiled but her favourite gift today was this which she instantly climbed on top of!
I can't believe she's nearly a year old. I really want to thank you all for supporting me the last year through all the feeding and sleep traumas. You ladies are the best!

Don't have much time but I'll try to catch up quickly.

Barbie You are a fab mum like Sabs says but you have given birth to a girl who loves drama more than you! I think extinction crying is worth a shot. It definitely worked for H and you can't continue like this. Will she take milk when you're not there. H definitely took it better when I started back to work. They say difficult babies make great teenagers so I'm looking forward to you and I comparing our model daughters in 12 years time and making Shock faces at the antics of others. Grin

Sabs Great to hear from you and at your meeting with Curly. I also love how besotted you are with Saara. Sad that you'll miss your mummy days but what a wonderful start you've given her.

Moon hope you kicked up your heels this weekend.

Mermaid Have I missed what the tests are for? Fingers crossed for results anyway.

QA You have the rest of your life to lose the weight. You are craving what the baby needs so go with it and wear those maternity clothes with well-deserved pride when the time comes.

Monkey Yipee and crosing fingers and toes for you. It's so lovely to read the hope in your posts. Well done for being able to talk about your lost little man. I'll be with you in spirit on your anniversary too.

Cupcake Glad J is better. I also like your dress and I'm sure the slimline new you will look gorgeous whatever you do with your hair.

VJay Hello. How's things with the boys now?

Sorry, but I'm shattered so i'll sign off now. I'll be back to post some pics of the birthday girl on Tues and maybe 1 of my downstairs loo which should be finished by then. ( I was delighted to see that some of you are renovation stallers too Smile)

Night.

mermaidspurse · 28/03/2011 07:58

that made my morning renovation stallers.Grin

barbie1 · 28/03/2011 16:49

Love you sabs Wink

barbie1 · 28/03/2011 17:53

Hi girls, just a quick one cos im off to bed to catch up on some sleep...

Feeling much better today, it looks like D might have another ear infection so back to the docs tomorrow...I know there is something not quite right so have been giving her lots of cuddles and kisses today and feel a much better mummy Smile
I think from my last post i make her sound like a horrible baby Sad she really isn't, she is so cute and funny, just way too advanced for her own good..hence the frustration from her and frustration from me not knowing what i can do to help her. It will all be ok in the morning!

I cant believe non of you pulled my up on my typo re the book im reading, i meant angels not angles Grin

neeko glad you had a good party, happy birthday to H!

BlueMoon1981 · 28/03/2011 19:24

Another flying visit...

My sisters wedding was lovely the whole day was perfect and the sun shone all day! It was a bit sad for me in places but I kept it together and never cried once (filled up a few times though!). Got well and truly fronked hehe I have not been so drunk in a long time, managed 11 hours of drinking before I had to go to bed, not bad for a 30 year old hey Wink and no hangover either :) and we even snuck in a cheeky bd Blush

Sooo now I have temporarily taken my head out of the sand and called my doctors, and I have an appointment next Monday evening to find out all my results Confused and now head back in the sand.

monkeybumsmum · 28/03/2011 20:04

Moon Big gold star to you for being so brave making the appointment, and for getting through your sisters wedding, you are made of strong stuff Smile Remember we will all be with you, holding your hand when you get your results. It's a really positive step and I so hope they might be able to shed some light on why things aren't happening. I would prepare yourself for them saying everything is normal though - it's incredibly frustrating to hear that, even when you're sure it can't be the case. I really, really hope they can suggest something to help you, you've been waiting so long now, I just keep my fingers crossed that you will get your happy ending soon x

Barbie so sorry to hear D is poorly, you've been through such a tough time with such lack of sleep - the end has to be in sight for you I hope! You are absolutely banned though from EVER thinking you are not being a wonderful mummy, you are amazing, and D is SO lucky to have you as her mummy. Anybody would have found it difficult to go through what you've been through... You know what shines through from all your gorgeous FB pics of D? That she is a happy, healthy and adored child, albeit a 'little madam' at times as you put it Smile You are doing a brilliant job, and hopefully soon when things calm down you will be able to see that more clearly. Lots of love, and keep your chin up as my mum used to say to me Grin xxx ps I love that you'll be lighting a candle too, and I hope somewhere up there he does know that. Thank you x

Neeko yes, renovation staller is a fab and rather apt way to describe such a person! You do come up with some great words Grin Happy Happy Birthday to H for tomorrow, hope she has a lovely day, and it'll be lovely to see some pics. I bet in future years when looking back H will surely be impressed that in with the precious photo's of her b'day are pictures of your loo! What a collection that will be Grin

Sabs sorry to hear that your Mondays with S will be coming to an end, it seems such an awful shame to be missing out on any time with our lo's, but RL has a knack of gettng in the way. Btw, I was looking through your FB pics too, and S looks such a little sweetheart, and so pretty! You must be bursting with pride every time you look at her! How are you feeling about your b'day? Bet you must be looking forward to your b'day meal out!

QA When is your mw appointment this week? Will they do a scan then? If not are you going to book one? It's a difficult question isn't it... Thanks for all the good luck wishes, and yes you are right that I am lucky to have friends I can talk to about my angel boy. I would probably have gone mad by now if it hadn't been for all you ladies and my wonderful RL friends. I am a lucky girl to have you all Smile

Cupcake Can you not do the other bridesmaids hair and one of them do yours? It can be rather tricky if it doesn't come naturally to you (I cannot do my hair for toffee). Or, you could 'do' it then put your head in a bush and pull it out for the tousled natural look Wink That might work, no?

Mermaid How's the gardening going? The weather was lovely this weekend wasn't it! I am expecting news of potatoes growing soon please Grin

Things fine here, except I seem to be like a bear with a sore head when I get a bit tired (not me, blame the hormones...) I was thinking that I might feel a bit different in my tummy but I don't Hmm Have got a scan booked for Wednesday am to see what is happening, and they'll do a blood test too and then let me know on Wed afternoon how we should progress. They might up the dose which dh will love...not.

Best go as it's jab time, then Eastenders and a cup of tea. Love to all xxx

bluesatinsash · 28/03/2011 23:05

Happy birthday to the beautiful birthday girls Mermaid and Hannah! Grin

Big glass of Wine to celebrate!

cupcakefairy · 29/03/2011 16:07

Hi ladies Grin
Back from a gorgeous long weekend away in mid-Wales... babies were very well behaved and we hadly lost a wink of sleep despite sharing a small cottage with our friends and their non-sleeping 5 month old.

Happy birthday Hannah! So glad her party went well Neeko, I love her new toy can I come round and play? Grin
Happy birthday to lovely mermaid too! Definitely an evening for Wine

barbie so sorry Dolly isn't feeling well :( hope it clears up really soon. That book you have sounds lovely but I know what you mean, you have to be feeling brave to read these things! Ha, I totally forgot to comment on you thinking my dh spewed and pooed all over a cafe GrinGrin I wouldn't be advertising it on here if that was the case!! Ooh thanks for the hair tip I'll totally be trying that. I also have these, which probably gives the same kind of effect but is really time consuming with long hair! Lol at you being a bridezilla Grin

monkey Yeah my little sis and I will prob help each other with hair :) Loving all the tips ladies (when you see a photo you'll all prob be really disappointed after all this hair fuss, haha Blush)
So glad to hear you are finding it easier to talk about your angel boy, and really hope visiting the cemetery gives you even more peace. Hooray for the treatment :) did you see this week's OBEM where a couple had triplets after fertility treatment Grin

moon so glad the wedding was lovely, sounds like you really let your hair down :) and YES for cheeky bd Wink just imagine if that results in your bfp, what a story to tell Grin have some more sand from me and a hand to hold for next Monday xxx

qa yay to feeling more queasy! (you know what I mean Wink) I scoffed carbs overload while pregnant too, just go with it it's all good signs :)

sabs at S cuddling curly! Sorry you're losing your Mondays with her but hey, keep on at dh and you could be off work again soon WinkGrin

Hi to louey, 4ever, MLS, blue and everyone else I've missed :)
