This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Morning ladies,

Butlins was fab apart from ds falling off a sofa on sat night and us spending 4 hours in a&e Shock He is fine now but was conscussed after the event and has a lump the size of a golf ball on the back of his head!

On a brighter note, my body appears to be running like clockwork this month Hmm That very faint line I was wondering asbout before I left on thurs must have been accurate as it progressively got stronger before fading away again on sunday. Oh and on sat I had horrendous ovary pains so we dtd (albeit very military and non-romantic) despite the a&e trip and feeling like someone was stabbing the hell out of my side where my ovary is! So I am feeling more hopeful that this month I actually know I did ovulate and the fact that we have def swi at the right times! Am now on with eating 5 brazil nuts a day to encourage it to really happen. Oh, and have cut out caffeine too so I am deadly serious this month and will be taking no prisoners Grin

Will be back later for full catch up

Happy St David's Day!

Chloe hope your ds's lump goes down soon! Its a shame that happened whilst you were away but glad it didn't ruin your plans completely! Wink

cep I'm glad to help, I hope it made you feel a bit better x

I'm off to bed for a few hours whilst dd is in nursery, work was ok, not too busy and it was nice to catch up on some gossip (even if that did mean hearing all about the pg lady with what was my edd :(

Good night x

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 08:47

cep YAY i have EWCM... Well it's a bit I'd a mix between EW and creamy and a-ive opk this morn but hopefully it means ov is on it's way!!! Your intructions helpped tremedously! So did the pictures as I knew what I was feeling for and the position of everything! Thanks!

wellie lovely to hear from you. Glad your trip to nz and wedding went well. You were not effected by the quake I hope? Did you get to see much of NZ? It's an beautiful country isn't it! Sorry the ttc gas not gone to plan, but hopefully once your AF comes you can try again now you are settled.

chloe ohh your poor DS. Glad he is ok though and that you had super time. You sound really positive and that's lovely to hear. Fx we can both jump on the November bus!!! X

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 08:48

melies also meant to say glad first night back went ok. Sorry about the pg colleague. I had the same thing on my first day back. Well done for getting through it. Xx

wellieboots · 01/03/2011 11:18

Thankfully we were in the North Island when the quake happened, though the wedding was supposed to be in Christchurch and we were going there the day after the quake. Wedding was replanned in 36 hours and happened about 45 mins outside Christchurch and thankfully we didn't feel anything other than a couple of aftershocks. Was scary stuff though and made you very grateful to be OK and that we could all be together.

olismum23 · 01/03/2011 11:39

Morning All,

Glad your ok wellieboots

lots of DTD then Collie

This morning has been awful done a HPT and got a faint positive within about 2 mins. Me and DH got really excited then when we looked closer it looked like the positive test line was pure white with a faint pink line running on right hand side of it.... I dont understand how it could be an evap line it never got soaked came up quick in the allotted time feel like someone out there is being rather cruel to me :(

Chloe55 · 01/03/2011 11:55

Have you done another one olismum?

OP posts:
olismum23 · 01/03/2011 12:05

Typically i only had one left :( will have to go to the shop and buy more I have decided i will wait till Friday if i can be strong just so upset over the morning Confused

Chloe55 · 01/03/2011 12:31

Well, if you can last til fri after a potential +ve you have lots more patience than me Grin

Congrats Hils Great news for you to conceive again so soon. I bet it was a real shock for you!

Cep Hope the pg is going well for you, I remember before you got your +ve that you had almost convinced yourself you weren't really having AF anyway, I don't think you even put yourself bottom of the CD list did you? Just goes to show, woman's intuition is generally right Wink

Collie I am still on the first round of SMEGging too, not sure I have stuck to it religiously but have certainly dtd more often this month than last!

Wellie Glad you enjoyed NZ and just make sure you get back in the saddle (so to speak) this month! Wink

banana you haven't necessarily missed the boat this month - you have dtd (even if it wasn't as often as you'd hoped) but it does only take the once afterall and you did it whilst having EWCM.

mumtum yes 7dpo is too early to test although I know I will be like on my 2ww which has started here too, thank god I bought 25 HPT off ebay Grin

Blackkat hope you are feeling a bit better today (if not too achey) after a shitty couple of days.

Ninu hope your WTF cycle sorts itself out soon.

meliesmummy great news that you have been give the allclear from the EPU. AT least it is peace of mind for you.

Waves to everyone else who I haven't mentioned.

I am a few days past my DD now and am actually feeling much more positive than I have been doing. Not sure whetehr it's because the DD has been and gone, whether it's that my cousin has had her baby and isn't pg anymore or what, I'm not sure. Just thankful that I have had a few good days and haven't actually cried for about a week now Shock I didn't actually realise that until I had written it down!! And, I managed to watch a midwifery program the other night (was the shocking program on BBC2 if anyone saw it) without cringing at my own envy of pg people. Phew. I am in a good mood today Grin

OP posts:
olismum23 · 01/03/2011 12:48

Would have liked to see that programme what was it called? Do you think i would get it on iplayer well done you it s good to feel positive goes in fits and waves for me, I have to wait till friday if i dont i will drive myself insane if i get the same again its hard I have took around 8 test already in the WTF cycle bare in mind i only m/c on the 8th its pretty crazy!

Think i will sit on my hands and try and be sane Grin

Chloe55 · 01/03/2011 13:07

It was called Worst Place To Be A Midwife, you should get it on Iplayer I would've have thought. Was quite upsetting in parts - makes you realise how lucky we are to have the NHS and qualified midwives here. It was set in Liberia and there was one poor woman who had just had a stillbirth laidnext to a woman giving birth to a healthy baby and the lady next to her was having an abortion Sad It was just unbelievable the level of insensitivity. Low funding and underqualified staff is kinda understandable in 3rd world countries but lack of sympathy is not acceptable in my opinion Sad

OP posts:
olismum23 · 01/03/2011 13:23

Aww how awful i found worlds worst place to be gay it might on it next week i suppose Hmm

cep · 01/03/2011 14:25

afternoon all, happy st davids day St Davids

chloe omg your poor ds. is he better now?? how high was the sofa??? glad you had a good weekend otherwise, and the fact you're sounding so positive now. [pombear] (hope that works)

collie great!!!! glad it helped. i didn't know what i was feeling for when i first started checking, only assumed i was correct at the time. thankfully i was. Grin

mel glad your first shift wasn't too bad. Grin

olis so frustrating for you i'm sorry. like you said leave it for a few days and then use the cb digi.

not sure if i could watch that. i did watch the 1 born every minute. there was a woman on there i felt really sorry for and 1 next week is supposed to have had about 3 mc's.

hello to everyone.

Great news on your test Hils and fingers crossed on yours Olis, I really hope it turns out you were right the first time.

Congrats Mel. Happy TTC Smile. I'm still waiting, although I got a pimple on my nose today and convinced myself it meant my period is imminent. I haven't had spots since I was in my teens and it was a regular sign that things were about to start. Nothing yet. So I am prob grasping at straws Grin.

Hope you are feeling better Blackkat and hope you've recovered from yesterday mornings fun at softplay Cep. Sounds far too energetic for me at the moment.

I keep wanting to watch OBEM Chloe, as I used to enjoy it so much before MC, but I will need to dig deep before I do. Well done you.

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned. Hope you are all doing good.

I've spent the weekend nursing DH and dd and ferrying both to and fro Hosp and Drs. No surprise then that I am showing all the signs of the dreaded lurgy myself.

I have given myself a pep talk this morning and have decided that I have to stop thinking and talking about all that's wrong. Bit of a fail already, so will stop now and focus on all the housework that needs doing and then spend the evening planning dd's new bedroom decor.

Chat to you all later. Off to wash the dishes Smile.

meliesmummy · 01/03/2011 14:30

Good luck olis, you are a million times more patient than me to wait till Friday! I hope you get a positive, fx. If so that's two WTF cycle babies, can I be next please? I've got some catching up to do!

chloe someone I used to work with goes regularly to Liberia with medical supplies for the maternity hospital, it's so so sad the stories she comes back with, women were dying bcos of lack of access to a really cheap drug for pre eclampsia till this lady intervened, we are so lucky tk have good maternity care.

Ive just discovered that peppa pig world opens next month, dd would love it! Very excited to tell her, have any of you been to paultons, it looks great for toddlers! We were going to go to drayton manor for Thomas land but this place is much cheaper, I think it looks better for her age group. Cep you live that way dont you?

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 14:50

Is 2 hrs and 20 mins enough to wait unit I can pee on an opk stick?? I am desperate for a pee Grin god I hate that I have to do this in the day I have the bladder the size of a peanut!!

cep · 01/03/2011 14:55

sorry i also meant to say chloe it was at the end of cycle 1 that i was in complete denial about af. i got pg in cycle 2, maybe i was being psychic (or just plain stubborn) just noticed my pombear didn't work Sad why did they stop that one.

olis meant to end with fx for when you do.

tokyo you poor thing sounds awful, i hope everyone gets better soon.

mel yes i live just down the road from paultons (well not too far anyway). i've only been once which was last july. there were a few things ds would go on, a couple he went on but screamed all the way round (the little wuss) a couple we had to go on a billion times. they were still building the peppa pig world when we went. I'm assuming it'll be for toddlers but i wonder if they're with or without parent rides. the ones they already have some are with parent some without.

cep · 01/03/2011 14:56

collie it depends on the type of pee stick, what does it say in the instructions??? some say 2 hrs some say 4

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 14:59

It says 4hrs....... I can't do 4 hrs!!!! Bloody hell!! Sodding pee sticks! And I could murder a brew! Right, I'll give it 30 more mins... If I don't pee myself, that will be 3 hrs! I hope noone is noticing me taking a plastic cup into the loo every afternoon??? Blush

cep · 01/03/2011 15:03

collie pmsl no pun intended. did you cut down on how much you were drinking?? keep a cup in your bag and take your bag to the loo with you.

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 15:09

cep i know!!! No I've drank way too much. Was going to do it at lunch but drank too much this morning and couldn't last. Had a drink at lunch, that's all, but I really do have a crap bladder.... I was practically camped out in the loo when I was pg, if not weeing then barfing!!

I sound like such a lady.....Confused

meliesmummy · 01/03/2011 15:10

Thanks cep, online it looks like the peppa rides are for adults and children, there's a balloon one like the one at legoland that we went on last year that she still talks about so I think we'll go there, it's nice to have something to plan/ look forward to.

I just poas - no line at all so I guess the hormones have left the building, I'm :) to be able to move on but :( too. Altho I'm pretty glad my body has sorted itself out so quickly to be honest, I thought it'd take longer. Plus no brown goo today!

Good luck your peeing (or trying not to) collie

cep · 01/03/2011 15:18

i have a really childish urge to go piiiiiiiisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, ahh that's better. Grin sorry collie

mel ds would love the train, and helicopter ride he loves both those things. he also loves peppa pig, it opens in april i think it said. yay for no brown goo. and it's the only -ve i'll cheer for. fx it's the last one.

meliesmummy · 01/03/2011 15:40

cep I don't think it'll be my last bcos I've got NO patience so I'm sure I'll poas way too early, every month i'd say not this month, I'll be good, esp after the chemical pg but every month I just can't help it! Just told dd about pp land, she's v v v excited! I think we'll go in may, it opens 9th April and I'd like to wait till it's a bit less manic!

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 15:59

-ive boooooo!!!!! cep you are evil, but I will forgive you this once seeing as though you helped me with my cm today already!!! Now enjoying my cup of tea!!!

Sorry i've ignored everyone. Am on phone at work unsuccessfully hiding the fact I am faffing!! Will catch up later x
