The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

have returned to something approaching previous name - thanks for the regards freezing. Still doing ok but rather nervous. Welcome to all the new people. I still expect to join you imminently.

tiggersreturn · 15/03/2011 11:59

after 8 weeks of being tonythetyger if anyone's confused

AliTheMinx · 15/03/2011 12:13

Hello Lovely Ladies

I am back! All OK as far as I can tell (7+4 today), but was literally starting to freak myself out and obsessing about having another MC, so decided to take a short break from MN..... am having another scan on Thurssday to see if there's a heartbeat and if sac has grown. Very anxious - and almost preparing mentally for the worst just in case. I think it's my way of coping.

Just wanted to send lots of love to everyone - especialy aandr and wiggle - my heart goes out to you both

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

nickstermum · 15/03/2011 12:26

(((hugs for wiggle))) :(

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 16:15

Welcome back Ali, hi tigger

I am feeling horrendously sick now, I am pretty much glued to the sofa all day and bored silly. Off to the docs tommorrow to ask for some medication to have at the ready in case it all gets worse like last time.

AandR and wiggle How are you doing?

love to everyone xxx

brokenbarrenbrook · 15/03/2011 16:15

wiggle so sorry my darling, sending you lots of love. You are so right how mc is an isolating time, I hope you can find some solace with us here, we all know only too well how shit it all feels. Thinking of you.

freezing good to see you back, how you feeling?

tigger I'll have less of the pessimism please! Wink Hopefully there's nothing specific making you feel like that and it's just you being paranoid that you are naturally going to feel after going through mc's? Which I am sure it's completely normal to feel like that, I know I will.

a&r keeping my fingers crossed that all is ok for you, good luck for Thurs, let us know how you get on

Got results from hsg today, all clear. Essentially we were told, in not so many words, that the 4 mc were just bad luck. We're taking part in a trial that St Marys are carrying out to see if Progesterone has any effect in preventing mc. Half of the test group will be given a placebo, the other half progesterone. Apparently it's a large study involving 900 women who have had 3 or more mc and all tests have come back clear.

So it's crack on and see what happens next time. 5th time lucky? Hopefully for me. In the meantime I'm off to join the lovely jolls in Eeyores corner (with a crate of OBSB)

Love to all x

brokenbarrenbrook · 15/03/2011 16:18

Gahhhh, sorry A&R I meant Ali Blush

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 16:20

BB so glad your HSG was clear! Smile. I hope you are not "disapointed" that they didnt find anything IUSWIM. Dont forget the tube wash effect is in play this month so take advantageGrin Study sounds v interesting.

Ladybee · 15/03/2011 17:42

Just quickly, as got to go get DS, but broken I hope you do get the progesterone as this looks like study repeating previous research, that appears to have been quite positive.
There's mention of it in the last sentence of the Cochrane Review of studies -- see here . It seems to be of dubious use for non recurrent MCers, but for those who have had 3 or more it does seems to have a good effect. (Another reason why I am going for the 'chuck everything at me' plan if I can next time)
Gotta run!

tiggersreturn · 15/03/2011 21:37

It's just paranoia and a bit of eyore nature coming out (sometimes I'm tigger, sometimes I'm eyore but I've had enough of name changing for the moment)

I hope the trial works and placebos can be good too. I'm a big believer in homeopathy although I did stop taking the concoction my old GP prescribed after 3 months did not result in conception.

randomimposter · 16/03/2011 07:56

BBB that is good news. Do you feel it's good news, or are you in that strange "dunno wot to fink" place? Love MummyA's advice about tube wash...

Wave to all. x

ZamMummyInGabs · 16/03/2011 10:45

Hello all, have been off MN as the whole TTC after MC shenanigans has been doing my head in....
But had to pop on and say so so sorry to A&R my TTC#3 buddy. Sending lots of African love your way xx :(
In other news, I'm on the 2WW (4 or 5 DPO today) but not particularly hopeful as we only managed to DTD twice and at "low" times.
A very good RL friend is PG with her first. Trying to keep Envy in check.

(((hugs))) again to A&R and wiggle

mousebacon · 16/03/2011 11:02

Hello again ladies. I had a massive, spontaneous bleed and was rushed back into hospital. Was discharged this morning after a 3 night stay.

However, my boss has started texting me asking to come to my house for a meeting. Just don't want to deal with work at the mo.

Just wanted to say hi

Chloe55 · 16/03/2011 11:15

Bloody hell mouse that sounds awful! Sad Tell your boss you have only just got out of hospital and the doc has specifically said no visitors or stress for the next few days. I hope you feel better soon.

brokenbarrenbrook · 16/03/2011 11:36

jolls I dunno how I feel if I'm honest, I'm happy, very happy in fact, there's nothing wrong, I'm just a bit miffed that there's no explanation. I'm thinking now that as much as I would like to take part in the trial, am I effectively putting myself at risk in case I get a placebo when I could beg the GP to prescribe me cyclogest anyway? And then I know I'll be at least doing something. Does that make sense? As much as the trial will be of benefit to other women, do I want to risk having a 5th mc for the sake of research? I don't know if I do if I'm honest. Selfish as it sounds, I've been through enough.

mouse Jesus, sounds like you've been through the mill again, hope you're doing ok now? You should def tell your boss you've been told no visitors and you'll call her when you feel up to it. Is that something you can do? x

tiggersreturn · 16/03/2011 11:43

Mouse - do you have any HR function to try and keep your boss in check? I think you should try informing them of this together with the info that if more of this continues the consequences are likely to be a lengthy stress-related leave.

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 13:45

mouse so sorry to hear about the bleed and hospitalisation, and I am even more worried to hear that your boss is still pushing you to focus on work when she should be backing off and giving you space to recover. I think its a great idea to refuse the meeting and say its on doctors orders. Do you have a friendly GP? Can you explain the situation and get him to write a sick note specifically stating no visitors? I think getting HR involved is a great idea too. Can you email them? Hope you find the strength to tell her to bugger off. Sometimes you only need to put your foot down once and people get the message. Hugs xxx

BB if it was me, I would read all the details about the trial, try to keep an open mind and then after that if I felt in my heart going straight for the progesterone with the GP (or even private) would be less risk I would do it with no guilt whatsoever. No one in the world believes that anyone who has suffered as much as you have has "owes" women anything in the way advancing research. Your goal is to have a baby, not to help advance medical research. Of course if you feel that you have "nothing to lose" thats different, and it would be worth your while participating for the advantage it might bring to you.

Welcome back ZamMummy we have a list over here if you want to add yourself in. xxx

CaribouMoo · 16/03/2011 17:06

BB just said as much on FB but I totally agree with MummyA. You need to do what's right for you and no one in their right mind would think you selfish for not wanting to risk another MC.

Mouse sorry to hear you've been back in hospital. I'm incensed again about your boss! I bet you didn't even have time to talk to the union or HR about it either with being unwell again. Definitely refuse the meeting and get your GPs suppport, seeing her is the last thing you need.

Jolls big cuddle for you pal x

CaribouMoo · 16/03/2011 17:10

Sorry, but what the fuck is going on with bold every time I post on here!

mousebacon · 16/03/2011 19:17

Thanks again ladies, I phoned the union today and they've told me just to concentrate on getting better and not to worry about work. She saw no grounds for capability on the info I gave her and described my ht as 'unreasonable' She said they'd support me all the way. I don't even know why she wants to see me.

Medically Im booked in for a follow up scan next week then if there's anything left the consultant will come and discuss my options. She's keen not to rush into surgery and mentioned I may require an hsg - oh the joy!

She's one of the top, top people so I feel confident with her decisions.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:12

Oh dear, mouse. Sorry you were hospitalised, that must have been awful for you. Even more sorry that your boss is such an Arse to even be suggesting home meetings etc after what you've been through. Glad to hear the union is on your side though, although there shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't, but it's nice to know.

bb I agree with the others. You need to do what's right for you. This research will gop ahead whether you participate or not, and if it's an option to get the treatment without the placebo risk then...

Waves to ali and zam Nice to saee you both back. Good luck for the scan ali.

All's well over here, had a +opk yesterday morning so busy busy, when I haven't been securing the house so it now resembles Fort Knox after the recent attempted break-in. We know have secure by design handles and anti-snap locks. The joys.

How's you jolls? Not too much in <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=image64.webshots.com/164/2/25/86/534122586Cfqdfc_ph.jpg&imgrefurl=family.webshots.com/photo/1534122586074256231Cfqdfc&usg=__Zc0cs9Pm8T8vW9qJnWH-qaiwiF0=&h=600&w=800&sz=76&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=zy8ZTehBBmg5SM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=144&ei=zhiBTeeJAoO1hAeaw_SmBw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Deeyore%2Bgloomy%2Bplace%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DFsx%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D532%26tbs%3Disch:1%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=928&vpy=75&dur=420&hovh=192&hovw=257&tx=126&ty=97&oei=zhiBTeeJAoO1hAeaw_SmBw&page=1&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the gloomy place, I hope

tigger yey for the scan news!

waves to all, chloe, mummya, izzy, mamap, nix, caribmoo, and everyone else.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:13

now not know

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 20:17

mouse horray for the Union taking your side! Glad you have a great consultant on your side too. Dont forget HSG's give your pipes a clean, so if it comes to that then just lie back and think of the jetwash bonus effect Smile

Looks like my jetwashed pipes did a good job - beany seems to have landed square in the centre of my uterus where (we hope) there is nice healthy endometrium! Scan showed perfect growth for dates and heartbeat of 120 - so all good and normalGrin I even got some meds for this debilitating all day sickness I have been having, just waiting for them to kick in and then all will be right with the worldSmile

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 20:30

woop woop yey for mummya!

MummyAbroad · 16/03/2011 20:32
