The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

Hi BB No, didnt test, decided to be restrained (7DO - riduculous right?) but now I am wishing I had because I want to be part of the action and will probably spend all day wondering about it! Wish I hadnt just seen a thread on conception where someone got a positive at 7DPO too...

YRMOTB Whoop! for crosshairsGrin the piccies are not on your chart, but it shows up when I look at my friends list. Yours has got a sky scene, with two suns rising over the clouds and a plane flying past. Izzy's and loola 's have (different) flowers and mothergoose (is that you BB? I have forgotton already!) has a snail on it. Have I got pictures on mine now?

Izz Spotting for you must be pretty torturous then, if in the past its signified both things, so really that means it doesnt signify anything!!Confused I never get spotting before AF, it just arrives very suddenly, its always a big shock, but at least the news is definite and there is no doubt. Go away Izzy's AF! Come on BFP!!

AandR still Grin for you !!

batteryhen · 18/02/2011 14:11

Hooray for BFP's that really is lovely news.

I am just slinking in - am same as izzy - I POAS today at 10 DPO and mid morning too not FMU - and got a big BFN. Had a bit of a weep :( Serves me right for being so damn impatient. xx

getawiggleon · 18/02/2011 15:24

Woah! Multiple BFPs today! Congrats velvet aandr and squeaky* GrinGrinGrin

Izzy and Battery It's not over yet. FX for some more good news this weekend.

Izzy I've never had brown goo before af until recently (probs last 3 cycles) Drives me crazy each month. I hope yours turns out to be the bean-snuggling variety though and not af .

Mummy Yes, 7dpo is early but you know that anyway. I bet you 10 wet haddock that you can't keep up the restraint til the end of the day! I know I wouldn't be able to! I got v early bfp with DD.

My appt with GP yesterday was an absolute frickin disaster slightly disappointing. I could've asked a total stranger in Starbucks and got a better response. It was a locum GP and she was pretty clueless about all things fertility related. She says my thyroid is within acceptable NHS limits (although she admitted she doesn't know much about thyroid and ttc/pg) She didn't even discuss other results (FSH, LH etc) she only seemed interested in progesterone which suggests I'm ovulating (thanks, but I knew that from temping)

She said that she would expect us to have been trying for at least 18 months (yes, that's one eight) before they'd investigate further. I'm 38 years old.

TBH I felt like an idiot in there. I'd love to know what she wrote on my notes as she certainly didn't have a clue what to say to me.

She also muttered something along the lines of "just try and relax, stress won't help etc' and 'miscarriages are v common' Again, the total stranger in Starbucks could've told me this much.

Roll on appt at fertility clinic. I just feel that, even for peace of mind, I want to see an expert. Dachs I have a feeling it may be your clinic I'm going to. Are you at same place as Pink?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 18/02/2011 15:26

battery I didn't realise we were cycle twins! I share your pain, but we are both being ridiculous in our impatience! Grin (me, even more so since I have definite signs of af!)

So, when are you going to poas next?! Judging by my last cycle, af should be arriving tomorrow so I'm going to leave it till Sunday at least (if she's not here).

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 18/02/2011 15:40

wiggle sorry you didn't have any luck at the dr - I reckon you saw the same one I did a few months ago! Sad.

mummyabroad · 18/02/2011 15:40

just a quick on for GetaWiggle

request a copy of your medical notes, in most cases they just charge a few pence for photocopies, but some buggers charge 10 or 15 quid. Start a folder with all your info and take it to every appointment.

Check your blood results for yourself here
www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html#female

and if any are borderline push to get the tests repeated.

That doctor sounds thoroughly useless, dont let it put you off getting the help you need. Glad you havent lost your sense of humour though, your posts do make me Grin

batteryhen · 18/02/2011 15:45

wiggle 18 months ????????? silly woman. I was told 6 and I am 38. I hate seeing locums - all good intentions and all that but it is rare you get a good one.

izzy I am not due AF till tuesday but have been having cramps so I am hoping it is a little mini- hen snuggling down but we will see. I know I shouldn't test early but got a BFP at 10dpo with my last pregnancy.

mummy I would lay money on it too that you don't last the day :) - will PM you later too when I am home.

Just been in to see my Dr - asked his advice about trying to shift OV as I tend to OV mid week and only see DP at weekends. Think I have left him very puzzled!

getawiggleon · 18/02/2011 15:53

Izzy Yes, could be. Did she have mad hair?! I had to stop myself from saying 'thank you very much for your expert medical advice' on the way out, sarcasm probably won't get me pregnant.. sigh.

Mummy Thanks for the info, as always! I have already bookmarked that link, v useful! Seemingly if I was in the US or Germany, I'd be probably be on meds for thyroid because the accepted levels there are more conservative than the UK. You are a great example of how to not settle for one opinion if you have a feeling that something's not quite right. It's totally out of character for me but I'm going to pester them until I get the answers I feel I need!

loola2shus · 18/02/2011 17:23

Wow fantastic news a&r & velvet So pleased for you!

wiggle can't believe they told you to wait 18months Shock Do as the oracle says!

Izzy & battery Got my FX for you both!

yrm Whoop for crosshairs!

mummy Your pic is in a strange place, did you do the weight ticker instead of the charting ticker?

Still no POAS here! 16DPO, but feeling very irritable and spotty today so it can only be a matter of time for af!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 18/02/2011 19:30

wiggle I was told at least 18 months too although I thought that might be different when I passed the 35 barrier (in March). Apparently not.

Anyway the nhs here won't fund us for any testing (even basic progesterone despite my crappy cycles) because I already have two children ( Sad but fair enough when resources are limited). DH also won't fund it for the exact same reason. So I'm afraid it's just down to Mother Nature here. And so far she's not playing ball Angry

CaribouMoo · 18/02/2011 19:35

Just a quickie to say a big hurrah and well done to Velvet and A&R, great to see double BFPs. izz, I got a BFN at 9 dpo before followed by a BFP 3 days later. Just sayin... Loola you've got a will of steel holding out for so long! I would wait a wee while if I were you mummy, honest I would!

YRMOTB at least your work is done now, no more pesky sex! Battery no wonder your doc was left scratching his head!!

Wiggle that's ludicrous. I was told by my GP 12 months before investigation.

loola2shus · 18/02/2011 22:54

Just thinking A&R & Velvet weren't you both Smeggers? Where's your white coat & clipboard A&R We need stats!

loola2shus · 18/02/2011 22:58

< waves at cariboumoo > How are you? Not will of steel- just no hope! Pretty sure FF is wrong! Confused I'm thinking annovulatory Sad

loola2shus · 19/02/2011 08:18

As suspected FF has removed crosshairs! Sad Pleased I didn't get my hopes up!

AandRMum · 19/02/2011 08:26

Ooo

mousebacon · 19/02/2011 08:52

Please can I join in over here? I feel like everyone I 'know' is over here or on the diffed thread.

Congrats on the bfps ladies Smile

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/02/2011 08:53

Arsecrackers. She's here. I'm going to skulk off back to Eeyore's Gloomy Place for a bit. I am so Angry with myself - I knew af was coming, so why am I so disappointed?! Sometimes there is no logic to ttc!!

batteryhen · 19/02/2011 09:06

Hi mouse glad you found your way over - I just dropped off the charters thread as I found I knew less and less people! :)

izzy crapiola. I hate that feeling of having some hope but not really - and then being really disappointed anyway when she does arrive :(

I fully expect to feel that way on Tuesday :(

Like your eyore pic though :)

I like the idea of the smeg plan however one small problem - I don't live with dp so our SWI is very random!

My temp is up again today but not holding out hope - no symptoms to speak of xx

wave to caribou and everyone else - have a good day everyone xx

mousebacon · 19/02/2011 09:33

Thanks battery I feel like I've been ttc forever. I was on the original charters thread and all I have to show for it is a mc and a mmc.

They say third time's a charm right?

Bleeding from the erpc is just tailing off but not trying this month incase it being too early was the cause of my mmc. Would like to be able to fast forward about 5 weeks...

AandRMum · 19/02/2011 09:52

Hi Mouse lovely to see you over here - I moved over for the same reason!! Definitely into the 3rd time lucky concept!

Izzy bum and poohole - is all I can say! March it is then - November babies are the best in any case Grin

battery Smegging is hard enough with dp all present and correct! Maybe you can do the whole secret tryst thing - as an overly romantic 20 something I used to run to my boyfriend's place at midnight in my pjs and climb in his window (have to love security in Oz)! [those were the days wistful emoticon]

Youremindmeofthebabe · 19/02/2011 09:55

Oh izz So sorry she got you. You're right, theres no logic or anything to all this. Immerse yourself tonight and we'll see you on the other side.

Hey mouse Nice to see you over here. Glad to hear the bleeding's trailing off.

Yes caribou the pressures off again.Yey. Testing day is the day of my birthday party. Boo.

All ok here, been doing running in preparation for this half marathon i'm meant to be doing in May. I'm obviously hoping I won't be able to do it, but that's no excuse for not training really.

Snowing pretty bad here. Turning to rain later though, I reckon. Looks pretty wet.

AandRMum · 19/02/2011 09:56

loola thanks for the prompt into action. I have updated the SMEG stats on the mother thread. Bugger re crosshairs - does that mean no ov this month or just at a time you didn't expect?

nickstermum · 19/02/2011 10:41

Damn damn izzy :( ((hugs)))

Like babes says, get plastered tonight and tomorrow you are one step further into your next cycle. Tomorrow is always a better day

loola2shus · 19/02/2011 11:30

Izz Feeling exactly the same today! Sad No AF yet but I am ready to throttle somebody so that suggests AF tomorrow! Can I join you in the gloomy place! We can drown our sorrows together Grin Anyway mummyoracle says we are all getting diffed in March!

YRM Heres hoping it'll be a sober party Wink

A&R Think that FF removed them as I am 17DPO -thats by the ov date they gave me and no AF and no BFP (not that I have done a test!)so as my luteal phase was 16days last cycle they have just deleted lines? I am assuming this is why anyway!

Battery Temps up sounds promising! And as someone said to Velvet a week or so ago...not expecting anything is a good sign you know!

Mouse lovely to see you Smile
