Oh Raven now I feel guilty.

I think what's panicked me is that although it took 12m to conceive DD, we weren't charting and I suspect most months we missed ov as I appear to be a late ov'r.
Now we're charting, I'm 38 and TCOYF says if you haven't got a bfp within 4-6m using charting to see the docs - implying that charting (if all is working ok) is vitrually certain to result in bfp.

You get stuff in your head, you know? We had tests before DD and all came back normal but we hadn't had the more in depth tests for endometreosis or progesterone tests as I got pg just after our first fertility appt. So don't know if DD was a lucky one off or not.

Anyway, we have child free afternoon today - MIL having DD as we're off to Manchester to Wagamama and to see We Will Rock You. Saw it in London and it was ace.

Have a lovely day Getdown and make sure DH starts to pamper you!

Congratulations Getdown! Fab news!!

So, I have been taking pregnacare conception for months, would it still be worth getting some Evening Primrose oil? I have noticed that the amount of 'stuff' being produced has actually got a lot LESS since I came off the pill in July Hmm

GetDownYouWillFall · 08/01/2011 09:40

MrsA you haven't been trying for 6 months yet so you are still within the window that TCOYF suggests. I know you can drive yourself demented thinking that if you time it right and you don't get pg then something must be wrong, but I think it could be for all sorts of reasons and not necessarily because anything is wrong.

Thanks for your congrats ravenlocks and tory

Hoping it will be all your turns soon. Smile

ravenlocks · 08/01/2011 10:13

Oh no, don't feel gulty MrsA!!!

I haven't been charting all that long, so expect a number of months we didn't time it right. I also saw that statement in TCOYF and figure that this is prob my 6th cycle of getting the timing bang on. So wondering whether I should go to the docs in the next couple of mths too. Boo!

TerrysNo2 · 08/01/2011 10:19

GetDown I am really chuffed for you!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Grin Grin

spilttheteaagain · 08/01/2011 10:25

terrys your chart is looking very interesting now. Will be looking for your OPK result later! But I reckon you'll be popping an egg out within about 48 hours. Good luck Smile
How are you doing these days?

TerrysNo2 · 08/01/2011 10:28

AuntieDoris · 08/01/2011 11:14

Congratulations GetDown. That's brilliant news!

ochaye · 08/01/2011 11:40

Hi everyone! Would it be ok if I join you? I had an MC on Christmas Day and am trying to chart to work out if I OV this cycle. I've signed up for FF but haven't got started with it yet. I'm off back through the thread to see if I can catch up!

spilttheteaagain · 08/01/2011 11:45

Welcome ochaye Smile

I'm so sorry to hear about your MC, especially on Christmas Day, what a horrible thing to happen. How many weeks were you?

A lot of us (nearly all I think) on here have sadly lost babies so know where you are coming from. Lots of love to you, I hope you are being well looked after by your family xx

TerrysNo2 · 08/01/2011 11:48

Hello ochaye Smile

ochaye · 08/01/2011 11:57

Hello Terrys .

I'm ok spilt. I was about 7/8 weeks and i sort of knew it was coming because my symptoms suddenly faded. I'm quite philosophical about it and am charting to try and get some sort of indication of what my body's doing so that I can TTC again asap.

I'm charting on paper just now. Will I be able to add it all into FF once I've worked out what I'm doing? It'll be interesting to see how our charts compare Terrys Smile although mine is a bit all over the place as I don't always get to my thermometer before I have to go and see to a small person.

jaggythistle · 08/01/2011 12:10

Yes, you can go back and add any data you have into FF. Just start on the first date you have then there is a 'save and next' option so you should be able to whizz through it.

I'm such an expert with a whole 3 complete charts on FF Blush

jaggythistle · 08/01/2011 12:12

Congratulations GetDown!

Don't think I have ever told you that I love your name, it always makes me smile Grin

Folicacid · 08/01/2011 12:23

Hellllo everyone

I'm just starting taking temps this cycle, although have had TCOYF book and have been charting the other fertility signs for a few months.

Can I ask a question though- is it a problem if my temps are low generally? As I am reading TCOYF the charts only start at 97 but this week I've gone as low as 95.8 an the highest has been 97.1. I wonder if it is becuase I'm only on Day 8 of cycle or if I should be worrying? Don't low temps indicate under active thyroid?

I'd be grateful for any help or advice from voices of experience!

ochaye · 08/01/2011 12:25

Oh ... congratulations GetDown - I've been distracted by FF and haven't made it back through the thread yet!

Thanks jaggythistle. I've another question about FF - do you record anywhere the reason for a disturbed temp ... or even that it is disturbed?

Sorry for all the me stuff - once I'm up and running I promise I'll contribute better!

ochaye · 08/01/2011 12:39

Ok, it's basic, but it's a start. Here's my chart:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/ochaye

Any tips?

Now ... to catch up on all your news!

ochaye · 08/01/2011 13:00

Sorry!

My chart

ochaye · 08/01/2011 13:16

Wow, reading back through the thread is fascinating. When I first looked at the FF charts, they just looked so complex and I didn?t understand them at all. But reading your posts and looking at your charts really helps me ?get it?. Thank you all for sharing!

Getdown - I?m so delighted about your bfp. I hope you?re enjoying your news today.

mrsa, ravenlocks, Iwish ... have everything crossed for you for this month. I know how frustrating it can be when it takes longer than you hoped. It took me a year to get my first bfp and I was like a crazed woman most of the time!

mrsa, I think you?re right to go and see the doc as soon as possible. Sometimes it takes so long to get things going, I think it?s good to get ?in the system? as soon as you can. Sounds like you have a brilliant afternoon ahead! We have tickets for We Will Rock You in August and I?m really looking forward to it.

What?s TCOYF?

Any news Terrys? When are you checking? I made a mistake and did my OPK first thing today. Should really read the instructions first!

Hi there Folicacid! I?m afraid I can?t answer your question but just wanted to say hello!

Right, I'll stop dominating this thread for a while now I'm up to date!

TerrysNo2 · 08/01/2011 13:21

ochaye if I have a bad nights sleep (usually thanks to DS!) then I put notes in the box at the bottom (underneath where you enter your temp). If its a really bad night and the temp is very extreme then you can discard it by ticking the box. You can also go back and enter all your cycle details, even if its just start/end of each AF it can help to see it written there.

I am frustrated - another -ve OPK. I don't know what this means when all other signs (open cervix, loads of EWCM and right time Hmm) are signalling its time to OV. Is it possible to have all these signs but a -ve OPK because I won't release an egg post MC?

Welcome folicacid I like your name, it will be a good reminder!! I don't know about low temps and haven't read TCOYF - sorry! I'm sure someone wise will be along shortly.

jaggythistle · 08/01/2011 13:24

TCOYF = Taking charge of your fertility - a book I have seen recommended lots on here.

You can totally record if there's a reason your temp might be wonky.

My DS is teething right now and up in the night sometimes. I have ticked the 'sleep deprived' box quite a few times recently...

Also there is a notes box at the bottom where I wrote in when I had a cold, or had less than 3 hours in a row of sleep.

FF recommends you record your temp at roughly the same time every day and after at least 3 hours sleep for best accuracy.

My last 2 cycles conicided with these teething episodes so are a bit all over the place but still reaable (ish).

jaggythistle · 08/01/2011 13:25

why did I need the word 'totally' up there??

cross-posts Terrys!
