Brand new shiny thread created (sorry Getdown, I am bored at work Xmas Grin)

Hoping that all of us still waiting get the news we want and soon!!

At least it's almost New Year, new start Smile

OP posts:
Ladybee · 05/01/2011 22:04

Hi ladies,
sorry I dropped my news and then disappeared, it was my day at home with DS so he kept me occupied while I tried (unsuccessfully) to stop going back to the stick to have another look Grin

Izz looks like you're heading into the crucial zone, don't forget to let that EWCM do its job and give yourself & DH a break, missing a day can really help the sanity.

getdown those are lovely high temps. Higher than you usually get. I hope they hang around for a bit but if the temps at this point in your cycle are causing more stress then maybe just give it a rest for a couple of days til you get to 12dpo? The others on here might kill me for suggesting it though Grin And someone very wise said to me another thread, the symptoms you get before a BFP are most likely normal cycle ones, it's the symptoms AFTER the bfp that matter and even then they vary hugely from pregnancy to pregnancy. I know you just want know. You need distraction...got any hobbies?

Pippa it does look like your body is trying to get there but not quite managed it yet. Hopefully in a day or so? I think you LP will probably stay about the same though, so just have a slightly longer cycle.

Spilt ugh, that is horrible. Poor you. How many weeks are you now?

Batteryhen I am very Smile to think of you doing your pom pom chicken dance for me.

Thanks for all the congratulations and happy wishes. It really does help to push some of the fear away and remind me to relax and enjoy the moment as much as possible. Terrys I had two miscarriages last year, one in late April and the other August. The nurse at the EPU referred me for testing as she knew I'd had three in total and am over 35. The tests showed I have the Leiden Factor V variation which can cause increased risk of clotting and is associated with increased rates of miscarriage. I also have PCOS, but that seems to be fairly well controlled as my cycles are regular, the PCOS is also an increased risk for MC. -- the odds aren't really in my favour Sad. Anyway, the clotting stuff gets treated with aspirin and daily injections of either clexane or heparin, once the pregnancy is confirmed by a scan at 5 weeks. Just have to get that scan done...

I'll be lurking and stalking ...

Ladybee · 05/01/2011 22:05

oh, Auntiedoris crosshairs are the coverline and ovulation line that fertility friend draws on your chart once she/it thinks it can tell you've ovulated. it looks like -+- on the chart.

Truffkin · 05/01/2011 23:15

Just popping on to offer my congrats to LadyBee hope you can let the happiness outweigh the worry!

Spilt that sounds horrid, sickness is not nice at the best of times but I don't know if I'd have made it out of there with those conditions to contend with Grin

MrsA keeping my fingers crossed for you

Pippa I've had one very long cycle in the last 7 months of charting when I ovulated late (around day 22ish) and my LP was a standard 15 days, which is normal for me. Hope you get a rise soon.

I'm now CD16 and expecting OV any day now. Have got some well timed SWI in as well, after a 'challengin' festive season staying at my in-laws' house! What a start to the new year that would be Smile and I have a spa trip planned with my MiL and SiL as my MiL's birthday treat, which will help to take my mind off the 2WW.

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 10:58

Hello all. Just popping in to have a look at you all. Glad to see there is some happy news on this thread. So sorry to read the sad news at Christmas.

Just wanted to ask ladybee. You say that you have one child already, does that mean that the clotting thing started AFTER you had him. I only ask because i too had 2 MC's last year and the GP was confident it was all due to my age (43 Shock) and the fact that my eggs are geriatric.

She said as i'd had 2 successful pregnancies in my 30's it was unlikely to be a problem with me actually carrying the pregnancy and I was simply just more likely to get a dodgy old embryo (poor little things Sad).

Anyway, what I'm saying (in a very drawn out way) is ... did you develop this problem AFTER you had a successful pregnancy???

spilt sorry to hear you're barfing in horrid work toilets but i guess it is a good sign in a way! Take care, lovey.

I still haven't returned to charting but i do still do the old OPK's and splashed out on digital ones this month. Got a lovely smiley face when i expected so am currently half way through the dreaded 2WW.

Love to all. XXX

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/01/2011 11:16

Where is everyone?? Heeelooooooooo!!!

[tumbleweed]

Come on - any news anyone?

OP posts:
TerrysNo2 · 06/01/2011 11:16

tory why do you have a single line rather than crosshairs now?

Looking good this morning GetDown!!

Hello everyone else.

Feeling a bit crappy today as I realised tomorrow was meant to be our 8 week scan Sad

tory79 · 06/01/2011 11:50

Terrys I put it on the opk method so it is only basing it on my positive opks instead. I was bored and wanted it to give me some stats! I will be flipping between methods now just in case it ever actually does give me crosshairs this month, but I actually don't think it is going to as my temp has been too all over the place with illness. Oh well!!

And hugs to you poor love. It must be such a horrible feeling :(

Iwish · 06/01/2011 13:11

Hi all.

mrsa cd7 like me. Cd1 to OV is not exciting at all!! Hope you are ok.

terrys ((hugs)) you must feel awful.

getdown oooh chart is still looking good. Are you going to test?

Hi Tory hippy truffkin ladybee split auntied and everyone else x

GetDownYouWillFall · 06/01/2011 14:08

Thanks Ladybee that's really sensible advice. The temps are driving me a bit crazy really. Thing is, the last two nights I've not slept too well so think this is why they are higher than normal. I've been distracting myself today by making thank you cards for Christmas presents. Really hoping your BFP is for keeps this time Smile

Hi to everyone else! Thanks Terrys and Iwish for looking at my chart.

Don't think I'm going to test TBH, I am pretty sure it's a "no" this month and don't want to waste a test, as I've only got expensive FR in the house. AF should arrive on saturday so if still no AF by sunday I may be tempted to test, but I'm not holding my breath!

Good luck to everyone gearing up for ov!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/01/2011 15:15

getdown I thought your chart looked fab!!! Can you post an updated link? (must get round to bookmarking everyone for easier stalking!)

spilt hope you're feeling better today, if I thought I had to spend an hour hugging the work toilets I think I would go home!!!

Tory hope you get your crosshairs soon...

Ok so stop me going mad, will someone have a look at my chart and please please tell me I haven't ov'd really early and missed it this month?!!

GetDownYouWillFall · 06/01/2011 15:20

No I don't think you've ov'd yet Izzy as temps aren't that high yet, and it would be early for you. I think you can sometimes get a day or two of EWCM and then back to creamy as the oestrogen starts to rise. Keep up the SWI!

Here's my chart I know it looks ok but really the last two high temps can be explained away.

I am feeling a bit glum to be honest Sad

batteryhen · 06/01/2011 15:30

Izzy I don't think you have OV'd yet either - keep going!

getdown - Why so glum lovely? - Your chart looks great ?!

split - yuk on the toilet hugging but :) that you are pukey IYSWIM

Just dashing in whilst I am at work. Have had some watery CM so FF has said I am fertile - so passport at the ready I am taking my ovaries to Germany to see if they will produce an eggy this weekend :)

Wave to everyone else xx

nickstermum · 06/01/2011 15:37

getdown why so glum chic?! chart looks great!!

Izz i dont think you have ov'd yet!

terrys ((())) each milestone is hard, this is the first. It does get easier xxxxx I was sad last night when i realised my due date is 6 weeks time - around the leap year. Having another pg is wonderful, but it doesnt replace what you have lost, in some ways heightens it somewhat.

battery safe trip xx make sure those ovaries get there safely! Grin

spilt hope you arent mucky toilet hugging today x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/01/2011 15:50

((( terrys ))) hope you are coping. The milestones are hard and you don't forget. Here's hoping you have another bfp soon - it won't replace what you've lost but might ease the pain x

battery have a safe trip and good luck with the swi-ing!!!

getdown your chart looks great, don't be glum!! If temps stay up another couple of days I reckon you've cracked it!

tory79 · 06/01/2011 16:44

Izzy I don't think you have ovulated yet either Smile

Getdown do your temps always go up if you have a bad nights sleep? I have terrible trouble sleeping and it doesn't seem to have affected my temps too much (although I guess its consistent all the way through the month!) But the other week I only got to sleep at about 5am and woke up again at 6.30am (urgh) and for some reason my temp dropped by loads! I thought it would go up.

GetDownYouWillFall · 06/01/2011 17:02

Thanks all, you are all so lovely Smile Sorry for being glum. Just you know when you feel you've timed it right but it hasn't worked? And you don't understand why? That's why I feel glum. tory thanks, interesting that your temp dropped after a bad night. My temps always seem really high after a bad night.

And the weather isn't helping! Rained all day and I'm not feeling great!

Sorry

spilt hope you've not felt too rough today. Our work toilets are pretty grim too and I would def not like to have to spend too long in them, let alone with my head down the bowl!!

terrys sorry that you would have had your 8 week scan. As others have said, it's hard getting through these milestones. My MC was only at 5 weeks, but I still have the due date etched in my mind.

battery have a great time in Germany!! Hopefully your egg will pop out at just the right time! Grin

weimy · 06/01/2011 18:33

HI all,

Thermom arrived today so will start charting tomorrow, :).

Really hoping that I can figure out when I ovulate!

hope you are all well!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/01/2011 19:40

Try not to worry Getdown (ha, easier said etc!) But my temps weren't up today and I woke up at 4am feeling sick and (TMI) ended up on the loo with a runny tummy! Luckily it was only one end and I wasn't sick after all but I managed to drop off about 5ish and still took my temp at 6.30, which was more or less same as yesterday. Try to keep busy if you can. It is so so frustrating to do everything right and still not get a +ve result.

Terrys hugs to you mate. Keep on taking one day at a time.
May go to bed soon. DD asleep and I nearly am!

OP posts:
GetDownYouWillFall · 06/01/2011 20:20

Thanks MrsA sorry to hear you were feeling a bit dodgy today hope you are feeling better now? Interesting that it didn't affect your temps - your chart is looking exceptionally smooth BTW!! Grin

Yep am trying to keep busy. And trying not to obsessively poke my boobs to see if they are sore Hmm (they're not by the way Hmm)

Will be interesting to see if the acupuncure brings forward your ov this cycle MrsA won't it? Hope so!

nickstermum · 06/01/2011 20:38

GD my boobs werent sore until a week after bfp! Look out for extra veins! Tearfulness Grin

MrsP81 · 06/01/2011 20:40

Hugs to you Terrys, sorry you're feeling down.

And to you getdown, don't like to think of you being glum. I had to smile at the obsessively poking your boobs bit, I am doing the same. And I'm only 6dpo. Hmm I did get woken up in the night with a sharp pain in my boob but I think it may have been the cat jumping on them! Smile

Spa trip sounds nice truffkin.

Hope you have a successful trip battery and that your egg has good timing.

Hey to all you other lovely ladies.

spilttheteaagain · 06/01/2011 21:05

terrys Sad Everyone's right, the anniversaries or important dates get you every time. It's hard. Wish I could give you a hug. I'm sad and peed off because tomorrow would be 33 weeks. I should be on maternity leave Sad I hope tomorrow is easier than you are expecting. I often find it's the anticipation of the date/time that is worse than the actual day or moment.

Nice spike MrsP.

GetDown still looking good and sorry you are feeling so gloomy about it. Hoping you are proved wrong in a couple of days.

Have a safe and productive Wink journey battery. Willing that egg to pop out just at the right moment.

Happy charting weimy. I warn you, it's a bit addictive!

More puking today, but mercifully only at home. I pulled something in my side it was so violent. Had a long tiring and nauseous day at work and came home and cried and begged DH to let me resign Blush I just feel so depressed and overwhelmed at the thought of working through another pregnancy now that I know how tough I find it.

TerrysNo2 · 06/01/2011 22:38

spilt sorry you are being so sick, I mean I know its for a good cause and I would love to be there, but I'm sure all that doesn't make feeling so crap any easier! Don't stress about work, its not good for you and bump, just concentrate on the fact you can leave soonish - you can take ML from 29 weeks and if you have any holiday you can add that on to the beginning!

Weimy enjoy your first temping tomorrow!

GetDown are you a pessimist, optimist, realist or a don't tempt fate-ist Smile. Just wondering!! Your chart looks fab BTW!

battery enjoy your German bonk-fest (does anyone else love that word, bonk?!)

DH and I had another SWI tonight - twas nice Smile. If my cycle is normal then I will OV at the weekend, I'm not relying on that but will be interesting to see. I think I will be gutted if I don't OV soon as I am kind of holding onto that at the moment.

MrsA hope you feel better soon

Smile
Truffkin · 06/01/2011 23:12

Hi everyone, looking forward to the weekend now it's nearly here!

Terrys hugs, hope tomorrow is easier than you are anticipating but don't feel bad for remembering although it's sad. Hope you get lots of real life hugs too.

Battery good luck with the long distance egg carrying Grin hope you have a lovely weekend

Spilt sorry you are still feeling queasy. Sending strong thoughts for you to manage with work until you can escape on mat leave!

GetDown sorry you're feeling blue, I really hope you are wrong but in the nicest possible way. I do know how you feel though when you've done everything 'right' but are not confident of the desired outcome.

Hope you've recovered from your dodgy start MrsA

Weimy welcome to OCD craziness of charting! Hope it works for you.

I think I OVed yesterday and if so think we've timed things ok this month. Realised from my chart that my period is due on our first day at the spa, which would be less than convenient! Just have to wait and see what the next couple of weeks bring.

Ladybee · 06/01/2011 23:17

Hi all -

Hippychick no both the PCOS and Leiden Factor V were around before I had DS, PCOS was diagnosed quite early, and the LFV normally inherited. I had a MC before I had him too. Each of my MC has been different. First was v early, about 5 1/2 wks, I think that was probably PCOS related as it was before I went on metformin, which seems to control my cycles/hormones well.
2nd was a blighted ovum MMC found at an 8-week scan. I reckon that's dodgy egg/sperm combo. It's the 3rd one that rang alarm bells for the consultant because it happened after a heartbeat had been seen which means that something else went wrong after that crucial development. This is quite typical of clotting factor MCs (although of course, could also be something going wrong with cell division).
The fact that I had DS without problem just goes to show that sometimes you CAN be on the right side of the statistics. The things I have mean there's an increased chance, compared to women who don't have these problems or aren't over 35, there's also a chance I won't.
If you're worried that there is a problem other than aging eggs and the increased risks of those, then it's possible to pay for private testing. You could try asking on the recurrent buns testing thread or ttc after MC for costs.
Good luck on the 2ww - hope it passes quickly for you Smile

Izzy scroll down and look at your other charts. Every week before you ovulate you dip down, then you go up to about 36.2 then you dip a bit more, ovulate and shoot up about 0.4 degrees. No guarantees but I think you'll go down tomorrow and maybe the next day and get a peak. So - while I'm predicting your life - maybe SWI tomorrow night and the next morning.
