Ladies from Vol4 - welcome to our new home.

OP posts:
KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 10:26

Thanks Clockspotter. I do actually have some wellies at the moment as we have a lab, who loves to walk in muddy places, and then shake it all over the kitchen. Grin

You might want to have a look on the Style & Beauty threads and my cryptic post might make a little more sense.... Wink

So I have been phoning the hospital every few hours to see if I can get a cancellation for an HSG today. Still no availability, therefore it does look unlikely but the snow has started to come down here thick and fast. We've had about 2" in the last hour and when I last phoned Radiology they've said to keep trying. They are expecting cancellations now from ladies who are further afield and can't get in due to the weather. I've been instructed to ring again about lunchtime.

Keziah Thanks for kind words about being at home. I am doing voluntary work at the moment, which is OK. I've also set myself a few projects, such as teaching myself a bit of photography. I've enrolled in Italian classes too, which I enjoy. I guess I'm just really frustrated as I really want to go back to work.

mumofloads · 07/01/2011 10:55

Hello, I hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread. I'm over here being nosey about something else. I have just spent ages reading the whole thread and have been reduced to tears. You are so supportive of each other it's brilliant Grin.
I wish you all loads of luck in 2011.

I'm to old for child bearing now (only just though). Before I had dd (22) I miscarried 3 times, 12 years later I had ds after a 4th miscarraige. I adopted dd2 last year and also 3 foster children. So that explains my name.

KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 11:02

Thank you mumofloads. That's really kind of you to drop in Smile

Sounds like you have a wonderful family now, I guess life must be hectic for you but very worthwhile and rewarding. x

Just a quick one from me for now to say good luck to Boba for your appointment today. I'll catch up with the rest of the thread later.

Sorry AF got you littlefan That must have been a real dampener on your birthday, but Many Happy Returns anyway. Hope you are planning something nice for your bday.

Well there's been no cancellations on today's HSG list, so I guess I'll have to simply wait for AF to arrive and book it then.

zebedeethezebra · 07/01/2011 14:46

Storm and Kitty I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

Knackered hope they manage to squeeze you in sometime later today. It sounds like a right pain to get an appointment - I'm surprised they can't come up with a better system.

So hooray had 3 bars yesterday on day 11! So we've done the marinating thing and I still have 4 test sticks left. Did someone say you can fool the monitor by reusing old sticks for the next 4 days so I don't waste the unused ones. Do I need to wee on the old sticks again in the morning or can I just put them in dry? Does it mess the machine up at all??

KnackeredCow · 07/01/2011 15:31

Zebedee Yes, you can fool the monitor.

TBH I don't even use sticks once I've had my first peak day because it is most definitely programmed to show a second peak day followed by one high and then lows until you reset it. I simply switch it off until AF arrives.

This is the link to the paper showing exactly how it works

If you still want to see your second peak and the high afterwards, wait until after your testing window and switch the monitor on. It won't be flashing requesting a test, but will still show peak or high.

Also, despite the VAT rise, Amazon has just reduced the price of a box of sticks to £13.99. Hooray! Grin That's with free delivery too. I know because I have just ordered some more.

boba82 · 07/01/2011 15:53

Hi ladies

Can't actually believe this but I got my BFP this morning! Grin Basically felt very nauseous all day yesterday which was when AF was due but waited until this am to test. 2 BFPs on CB digitals and a third on a first response. Still went to appt @ FC where he burst our bubble by saying if I am there's a high chance of ectopic preg as my right tube has a blockage so I have to go back next Fri for 6 week scan to check all ok. Feel really nervous now. Can't believe it. You guys are only ones apart from DH that know so shhh! Really praying everything turns out ok. Feeling really sick all day and lots of little niggles down below so hoping these are good signs.

Storm how's things, been thinking of you. x

Happy Birthday littlefan

Thanks mumofloads

boba - now don't disappear, we have been on here too long together!! You have given my hope now ! Grin

KC - glad you have the dog, course, photography and challenge learning mac's etc ... but if you are walking your dog, would recommend wearing wellies as it is so slippy with the snow. Lots of children wear them to and in school now - it is fashion, personally I think my allotment ones are too boring (plain) so am thinking of pink spots on navy as they might not get lost in the boot of my car and end up ruining my shoes all the time. But perhaps plain, like navy (mine are green) would be better for you - in case your dog likes patterned ones too much?

Coming up to peak and I have no desire to even ttc this month, too low with no hope of fertility treatment - how long does one keep ttc when trying as long as me without fertility treatment?

boba i am absolutely thrilled to see that you are pregnant i'm so utterly delighted for you and will be thinking of you and hoping this is a smooth ride for you xxx

essenceofSES · 07/01/2011 20:55

boba - WHOOOPPEEEEE!!!!! Congratulations Grin
I really hope everything works out for you and the scan will put your mind at rest.

mumofloads - thank you for your post. You sound a truly amazing woman :)
I agree with what you said - everyone on this thread is so lovely and supportive :)

Keziah - really feel for you. Can't be easy trying to think about ttc but there is still a chance, even if you think it is a small one.

KnackeredCow - sounds like you've got quite a bit to keep you busy. What made you pick italian to learn?

dogs - we have 2 cocker spaniels. They are completely mad!

I've not had the best of days. Everything seemed a bit rubbish at work and then one member of staff decided to pat my tummy and ask what was there! I just shook my head and said my scarf under my coat (I did have them both on at the time). I was so embarrassed! I really don't think I'm that overweight!

AF just got me this evening too so CD1 tomorrow for me! I knew there was no chance this month so sort of pleased that we can now focus on the new cycle.

Hello to everyone else I've not name-checked. I might go to bed with a hot water bottle - especially as I have work again in the morning.

StormBird · 07/01/2011 20:56

OMG Boba I am so so so so so so Happy for you, when I saw you got your BFP my jaw was on the ground and I was nearly in tears. CONGRATULATIONS I am so pleased for you both and proud of you, you are an true inspiration. Well Done.

I'm ok (thanks for asking) still feeling a little fragile but ok nonetheless. So far so good. Not thinking about the test results though.

Frootbat I swear by temping, it was only when I seariously started temping together with using the CBFM that I got my BFP (and I'd been told that doing both together wasn't a good idea). Good luck.

boba82 · 08/01/2011 10:46

You are all so kind. Thank you so much it really means a lot. I know how hard it is.

Keziah I'm not going anywhere, wouldn't feel right so I'll be staying here if that's ok?

Fr00tbat sorry about AF, best of luck for this cycle.

essence sorry you had a shitty day. That happened to me once when I was still on the pill! I think it's actually more embarassing for the other person but it is horrible. x Sorry about AF but good you're focused on this cycle. FX for you. x

Storm keep your chin up, positive thoughts for both of us!

I am so sad, did my remaining 3 preg tests last night, don't think I'll ever get bored of seeing it turn positive. Still getting lots of wee cramps so hope it is attatching in womb Confused. It's going to be a loooong week ahead.
