By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Did I say that today was gorgeous. I meant frrrrreeeeeezzzzzinnnnnggg. -9 here just now. :(

JosieSmith1 · 27/11/2010 22:35

Right, I'm back and I'm almost fixed Grin I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm dealing much better. I would like to say thanks to everyone on here as it's been a good place to vent and everyone has been really nice not telling me to get lost and be miserable elsewhere so thank you all. Grin

I wasn't coping very well but now that what I was fearing has arrived (snow and horse being in) the anticipation was worse than the reality and I'm getting on with it. People and horse are depending on me so I've pulled myself together.

Now to catch up with the thread, I've missed so much!!

SingingMog · 28/11/2010 10:03

Glad you're feeling more positive about it all Josie. I think you are coping wonderfully from what you have said, considering everything you have to deal with at work.

Hope they have sorted out your pen Vallinna, was it a faulty one?

-9 Nervous!! We've still only got ice.

Didn't get into Prestonia yesterday because the protests kicked off and they closed some of the main streets! Still made it to cash & carry and ended up buying £45 of stuff I didn't know I needed.... Shock

Did another test this morning at 15DPO (I think) but it was another BFN. I am going to say now that in future I am not going to test until the date red-fekker is due to arrive because I clearly get too carried away with symptoms!! Also I will end up spending loads on HPTs. At least now I should get chance to try out the Mooncup that I bought, although it does freak me out a bit. Much positive thinking going on here Smile

vallinnapod · 28/11/2010 10:13

Morning! Survived the rugby - it was colder getting home from the theatre at the end of the evening!!

Not sure what was going on with the pen. The nurse wasn't hugely forth coming with an opinion. Got a new pen so we shall see!

Other news, have moths - one jumper looked like a sieve - bedroom looks like it has vomited clothes EVERYWHERE as I check for further casualties and hover wardrobe! Grrrrrr. Have a cinema fest today - Mosters this morning and Girl who kicked the Hornets nest ce soir!

Sunday kisses to all xxxx

takethatlady · 28/11/2010 13:17

Hello ladies, glad you're feeling better josie. You sound very hairbrained glamorous Smile

No, don't work at Cambridge - I have over an hour's commute to the uni I work at. Did work at Cambridge (not as lecturer though - they wouldn't trust me with that!) for 3 years so that's why we live here and are stuck here in tiny negative equity house

Jealous of everybody with the snow! Just a dusting here, though it's bloody freezing :)

Went to my dad's, suddenly felt like eating, had an amazing steak sandwich, threw it all up 2 hours later Sad

milanomum · 28/11/2010 14:41

Hello!
Josie glad things are looking up and you feel you're coping better - you're a star!

TTL boo sucks to the upchucking.

singingmog if you don't have the red fecker, then there's still hope!

nelly That's cold! we've just got light snow here, chilly but not freezing. Very Envy at your cinema fest

vallinna yuck to moths and hope new pen works better.

miffs glamour puss!

It's CD1 here today but i am actually relieved because it means i can get back on track (and i have a friend's wedding coming up so can now get pissed!!)

takethatlady · 28/11/2010 17:48

Oh dear. Can I just say I meant to say to miffles that she is the hairbrained/glamorous one. Otherwise that was just a crazy random comment for josie, who I'm sure is equally glamorous even without Cheryl-Cole hair, a sexy dress, and a begging letter for tampons Smile

SingingMog · 28/11/2010 19:37

Vallinna, moths, eurgh Confused I am scared of them.

Must be upsetting to eat things and then keep throwing them back up again TTL. Hope it doesn't put you off eating too much. Wonder how long it will be before you are getting random cravings?

Milano thanks for the positive thinking! Glad you are relived about AF arriving. Exciting for getting pissed too Wink.

Had a practise with the Mooncup earlier (TMI I know) and it is v odd. Not sure I can put it in properly Blush Might have to look on youtube for example videos (defo must make sure I do this on home laptop not school one)!

escapeartist · 29/11/2010 06:35

Back after weekend of getting used to DH being away for 3 months. I have to say it is strange having him back, though it is lovely to have all the help in the house and all the cuddles (etc). I am sure we will fall back into our normal patterns soon!

It sounds freezing in the UK - a bit jealous for the snow, though Josie I appreciate it is totally not all fun and games. It is still very warm here, unseasonably so... 23C yesterday and I had a running race, du8ring which I got hot in my vest and shorts!! Argh.. where is winter?

takethatlady throwing up sounds horrible. I went to friend's house for late Thanksgiving, she is American and 10 weeks pregant with twins and she had such bad nausea I felt so bad for her. She sat at the table and watched us all eat, nursing a soda :(

So JSed a few times iver weekend and now I am wondering... is 48 hours after positive opk too late? (I imagined it is and it was purely fun JSing, not of the baby making kind, but still secretly crossing fingers...)

Mog moon caps?? Instead of tampons or for tttc purposes? And, has red fecker arrived?

vallinna how unlucky? Injections are bad enough as it is, but getting a faulty pen? You are a saint for not freaking out completely!

takethatlady · 29/11/2010 10:41

escapeartist not sure about the 48 hours/OPK thing, but all shagging is good shagging, right Wink?

It just took me 3 1/2 hours to get to work ... it's snowing down like crazy here, I've missed my first seminar already, I've got one to go, and then I'm skipping this afternoon's meetings and driving back home. I LOVE the snow but I should have just stayed in by the fire.

Not feeling sick though woohooooo!

josie, thinking of you and the yard and praying all is okay :)

vallinnapod · 29/11/2010 10:59

Not sure why I am quite so zen escapeartist

Very :( at the moment. Bit disappointed/upset but because I am confused.

Scan and bloods this morning. Lining is at 5.7mm (from 3.6 last Weds) and I have to larger (but under 10mm follicles) on one ovary, none over that the teenys on the other - but when I asked about my E2 I glanced at my sheet and saw it had gone from 173 to 76....I thought it was meant to go up. :(

BrassicaBabe · 29/11/2010 11:26

Two out of the 3 points you mention vallinna are positive ones. Smile Any chance you misread the figures when sneaking a peak?

vallinnapod · 29/11/2010 12:02

Yep - thrying to remain Grin at those two!

Nah - no error, I asked her too!

takethatlady · 29/11/2010 12:10

Oh vallinna how annoying. But you're getting there. Like bb said 2/3 ain't bad. Do I remember rightly that they're upping your dosage now? Maybe that will have an effect.

You've just got to think you're already much further forward than you were even a month ago. Easier said than done I know.

JosieSmith1 · 29/11/2010 13:38

Morning everyone, still feeling ok you'll be pleased to know as I'll not be whingin at you anymore!

Except to say this bloody weather! Most people are off work, which is pathetic considering I was at the yard in over a foot of snow this morning and they can't even come round the corner!! And now the people who are here are leaving early as they have to go back round the corner home, whereas I have to go half an hours drive away to the yard, ploughing my way through over a foot of snow in my little ford ka! I must be made of harder stuff than most people Grin

Seriously though, it has to stop soon, it's getting ridiculous here, I don't know if anyone else has it this bad but the shops are running out of milk and bread, cars are being abandoned all over the place, we can't get the farrier, any shavings or hay for the horses, dunno what we're gonna feed them soon Confused

Hope everyone else is doing ok and keeping safe in this weather xx

Miffles · 29/11/2010 14:09

Hello everyone - a quickie as at work.

Vallinna - what did the clinic say after taking those results? It sounded like they were a good bunch and you could talk to them.

Glad josie is bearing up.

Mog - respect to you if you do the mooncup. Freaks me out, TBH. Confused

Milano - glad CD1 arrived so you can feel like you know where you are and back in the game.

CD 5 here, so only one more clomid. No side effects at all. :)

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 29/11/2010 14:26

thanks TTL - I know 'PMA' as Linford used to say!

SingingMog · 29/11/2010 19:46

Instead of tampons escapeartist! (Although I have read that some people use them as spunkcups...Confused) And no red fecker yet. Expect it will turn up tomorrow or day after (CD29/30). Mooncuppage freaks me out too Miffles but heard so much good stuff about them thought worth a try, DH was laughing at the faces I was making when I was looking at the youtube vids yesterday. I have practised putting it in again, but not sure I am brave enough to use it outside the home on first "proper" go!

I don't know anything about OPKs, but agree that any JSing is good JSing Grin (except when fanjo sore from mooncup experimentation)... Blush

TTL, poo to journey time. Hope you got home faster. Huzzah for not feeling sick tho!

Josie hope you can get horsey-matters sorted out with regards to food etc.

Feel positive about your results Vallinna, LOL at Linford sayings Grin

Miffles · 30/11/2010 08:47

More snow down here...still getting into work. Sad Not any where near as much as up north, but still exciting. Not sure about this for the next 3 months though!

Forgot to take my clomid this morning. oops. Will do it tonight.

Mog - I bet DH was laughing at you watching the clips. Did he watch them too?!

How are folks getting on with Christmas present buying? I've got a few, still some more to get. Not sure what though!

OP posts:
aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 30/11/2010 10:23

Quite a bit of snow here, unusually - we tend to miss out on any weather more extreme than grey cloud, being in the Midlands. DS and I are having a lazy morning because, well, frankly I can't be arsed to go out in the cold.

Miffles I've got most of my presents but to be fair I only have about 10 people to buy for. Also, due to impending redundancy etc., we've all agreed a £10 limit between adults which has made things a lot easier in some ways as so many things are ruled out Grin

Miffles · 30/11/2010 11:12

Who has impending redundancy?

OP posts:
aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 30/11/2010 11:18

Me.

Miffles · 30/11/2010 11:45

Oh no! When is that happening? What bad timing!! Are you going to be able to get something else til baby comes?

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/11/2010 12:08

Does anyone else ever have trouble accessing MN or is it just me? I have trouble with my yahoo email too, but nothing else.

Am thinking of going outside, sitting bare arsed in the snow, then changing my name to comfortably numb. Oh just don't ask.

vallinnapod · 30/11/2010 12:22

Oh dear NMCB - piles?!

Nothing from me...oestrodial went from 73 to 532 yesterday which is way too high so I hope they haven't f-ed things up...
