By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

That's great Milano! You must be so relieved. Have one of my virtual custard creams to celebrate (offers dish with dainty doiley) Smile

milanomum · 10/01/2011 14:33

I like you a lot bambam Grin

I am going to send you into the flurry of am-I, am-I-not? craziness by saying that those are definitely symptoms. I'm just not sure whether they are for flu or updiffedness...
Wink

takethatlady · 10/01/2011 14:36

Ooh I love custard creams. Congratulations milano on the fact that mini-lano is doing as well as vallinna's mini-pod :)

I am currently living on Mind-Fuck Avenue and glad to see you are my new neighbour :)

BamBam21 · 10/01/2011 14:38

You are welcome Milano!

I will make myself a bit mad for the next few days I think, as I really don't want to test early yet again. When I had DS, I had absolutely no symptoms, just a bit tired. Wouldn't it be great if we just got 2 pink lines on our foreheads if we were up-duffed?! Although we would no doubt still be squinting at them like loonies!! Grin

vallinnapod · 10/01/2011 15:17

Right conception. Going to use me as an extreme example if that helps

As a lady who had 18 eggs take from me, 13 fertilised 2 were picked to go back and then only 2 others were suitable for freezing. So out of 18 only 4 made reasonably good embyros - this is not counting the one that was put back that didn't stick. Say it was all natural, out of 18 months I may have only had 2 or 3 that would have produced a potential baby. So, reasons.

Egg/sperm quality. Not all are created equal. Some eggs are a bit duff, as are some sperm. Even if these rejects manage to meet and fertilise, the resulting embryo can begin to divide incorrectly and basically dies, before it would even implant and therefore register on a test.

The other issue is implantation - this is the bit that no one can really explain, and is the hardest reason IVF fails as there can be just no real explanation as to why an embryo doesn't implant. It could be quality of lining - there is an optimum thickness or there are other factors but these mainly concern miscarraige as your immune system can attack the embyro - but this would be after implantation.

Does that help, a little?

Congrat Milano - glad you can no relax a little!

Miffles · 10/01/2011 15:26

Wow Vallinna - yes it definitely does. Thanks! I feel educated and also more relaxed. It's not all down to us and "missing the window" or whatever. We really can only control part and then our bodies do a lot more.

And yay for mini-lano!! How reassuring for you.

I'm going to pass on the custard creams. Really need to shift this Christmas weight!

All the more reason to forget windows and just shag!

takethatlady · 10/01/2011 16:36

(Fertile windows, obviously, not windows out onto the street Grin)

Miffles · 10/01/2011 16:37

Ha ha ha ha about shagging at every window!!! Grin

OP posts:
nickelbabyjesus · 10/01/2011 16:49

Grin [wipes tears away] shagging at every window Grin

[sigh]

we couldn't do that - the bedroom windowsills are too high. (and we've not practised our sexual athletics yet) Wink

crowette · 10/01/2011 16:56

Hallooooo!!

Glad to see that scans went well and any fears dispelled!!

No hangover for me - wasn't a bash last night due to daughter being at her dad's ... we're skinto here til Friday, so am taking her out on Saturday to empty my purse again Hmm and she says she's quite happy with just chilling here with me, her sister, OH and his daughter.

Instead OH and I watched 'Apocalypto'. Didn't realise it was such a long film, so the shagfest didn't happen as we were both tired (plus I was a bit shy as we'd had cabbage for dinner and it was taking effect Blush) So, I woke up this morning feeling frisky, started to wake him up in a way most guys love Wink until he looked at the clock and realised he was going to be late for work!

I'm now planning seduction for when he comes in from work! Getting OV pains and breast tenderness, so making sure I get some tonight!!!

takethatlady · 10/01/2011 17:03

Oh goodness, no-one should watch Mel Gibson before a shag ... Grin

Eskarina · 10/01/2011 17:04

Hi all and welcome to BamBam (sneakily eats half the custard creams, purely to help the nausea you understand!)

Vallinna and Milano so glad to hear about the scans. Milano I know exactly what you mean. I'm 8+5 and haven't felt properly sick since Thursday and boobs normal (well, enormous, but not sore any more). I did sleep 11 hours on Saturday night though. Got myself terrified that the flu jab I had on Thurs had done some damage, even though every medical source I've been in contact with assures me it's fine!
My midwife rang to introduce herself last night, at about 6.30 just as I was heading out to church. I was completely baffled at first, as expected them to work office hours, plus my hopeless GP said nothing would happen til after my 12 week scan. Anyway I have my booking appointment this friday, and my 12 week scan on the 28th. Still feels like a long wait, but I was realistically expecting February, so quite relieved really. It's good as we've got "christmas" with DH family in early Feb so all being well we can tell the extended family then. His parents know, but there'll be his sister and aunts around.

Dynababy · 10/01/2011 18:12

Helloo!

Welcome Bambam and thanks for custard creams, have some virtual gin to help with getting upduffed!

Just reading the thread and realised mylast post i did without reading the last page hence a bit Blush as I was sooo out of date in what I said - sorry viroids!

Yay yay and triple yay for tiny pod and milano!

Milano and TTL Im with you on the worry front. I think we are destined all to worry now for years - Vallinna I think you said we'll worry from TTC till their 18 ... probably beyond! Ive only just had my 12 week scan last week and today got appt for 20 week and started to worry there is an anomaly for them to find then .. arrgghh there is no end to the worry!!

Anyone else going to be watching one born every minute tonight?? I am kinda scared to but at the same time know I won't be able to resist temptation!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 10/01/2011 21:29

Milano has me laughing like a loon snorting like a pig tonight telling off randoms and all. Even TTL call her little'un mini-lano, it sounds like a really fancy expensive shoe.

Actually attempting to skim through you all seem funny tonight, but my battery is about to die and I'm off to bed.

Night all xxx

NervousNelly · 10/01/2011 21:57

Hi all. Just wrote a long post, and was about 3 words from hitting "post" when my netbook started ticking Shock. I then got the blue screen of death, followed by it trying to reboot and the message "Operating System not found". . OH helpfully said "oh that means you've lost your hardrive, I presume you've backed up all your photos". Eh - nooooo. So luckily a short break and it's started working again; and all photos now backed up to external hard drive. Hmm.

Anyway most of what I said was just waffle, but hello to bambam and welcome! Also great news about all the little beans and pods and heartbeats and stuff :)

ERTD seems to have disappeared again, so will be dusting off the shag cape in time for the weekend!

Better post before it all goes Pete Tong again :)

Truffkin · 10/01/2011 23:08

Hi viroids, I've missed loads over the weekend and am now catching up on my phone so won't be mammoth posting Grin

Am extremely excited for scan news, Vallinna am over the moon for you and Milano big sigh of relief that babyccino is doing well in there!

Sorry about ERTD Josie but hope the sorrow-drowning has helped make up for it. Focussing on the positives always helps me and I'm already racking up my 'silver linings' in case I need them in a fewWelcome to newbs, hope you enjoy bein part of the extended viroid family, even if we are a strange bunch sometimes! Wink
We had a fab weekend, the surprise party was a big success and I loved being favourite Aunty with my nephew and niece, even if it did make my ovaries ache!! My mother in law loved her surprise so it was well worth it!

I'm now 5DPO so will be joining the symptom spotting menkul madness forthwith Wink Off to bed now and will hopefully catch up properly later in the week. Do we have anyone nearly up for testing? We neeeeed a BFP on here!

Truffkin · 10/01/2011 23:09

Sorry for the terrible grammar and spelling in my post. Posting on phone failure!

crowette · 11/01/2011 08:19

Morning ladies!!

Everyone seemed in great spirit last night - good stuff!!

Well, didn't need to use my seduction skills last night ... was running my bath to gear up for them, when OH 'demanded' a hug, then dragged me off to the bedroom - no putting up a fight here Grin

In other news - I'm a bit excited, but also peeved, as I upgraded my mobile phone yesterday, explained to the lovely man on the phone that I'd be at work this afternoon, so morning delivery would be perfect, which he said he'd put me down for. I went and tracked my parcel just now, and it says it's set for afternoon delivery!! I WON'T BLOODY WELL BE HERE!!!! I don't know my neighbours as we've just moved in, but know that there are still some dodgy types living here, so really don't want them leaving my £400 phone with anyone Hmm I want to stay home from work and play with my new toy! Grrr. Also not looking forward to going to work after 8 days off :(

Miffles · 11/01/2011 09:26

Morning all,

Sounds annoying about your phone Crow - what have you upgraded to? And did you actually pay £400, or is that reduced cos of a contract?

Glad the party went well Truff. Surprise parties are always so nervous - will it work? will they like it? etc. Know what you mean about aching ovaries as an aunt. I am an aunt 3 times, about to be 4th next month.

Nelly - pleased no harm done to photos or data. Scary when computers/phones malfunction like that. When we had our laptop stolen, everyone asked us - had you backed it up? External harddrive and all that. Of course we hadn't!! And now we have a new one, we've not backed it up in abotu a year!!

My DH has flu-like symptoms. I think its just a cold, but he is moaning like anything and kept me awake with his snoring and flumping about in bed. Not sure we're gonna manage our CD16 shag tomorrow....

Who is going to do our new thread? Need to start planning as almost there!!

OP posts:
BamBam21 · 11/01/2011 09:46

Morning all! Sounds like you had a lovely night Crowette! Wink

Hope your DH has recovered by later Miffles. DP is still poorly, and I am starting to get sniffly now too. At least our "window" has passed now though - AF due at the weekend. Sore boobs, cramps, a bit sicky feeling, but I WILL NOT TEST EARLY! Think it will be AF anyway, it's all my normal symptoms.

The gin went down a treat Dynababy! Thanks Smile

I have a phone interview for a job at 10am. It's not my ideal job, but we need the cash. Wish me luck ladies!

Miffles · 11/01/2011 09:56

Good luck!

OP posts:
nickelbabyjesus · 11/01/2011 09:57

remind me not to shag when I've drunk wine.

having to be at work this morning, DH having the week off...
No hurry then, DH!
(not me- he took a bit of working on)

then i woke up at 4 am, and he said "I've got a stiffy, look at that!" Hmm That's nice dear, and you're telling me this because?????
Grin
(he wasn't intending on doing anything with it - he just thought i'd like to know Hmm )

BamBam21 · 11/01/2011 09:58

Thanks Miffles. Just sitting by the phone chewing my nails now! Confused

crowette · 11/01/2011 10:02

ooooh nooo!! Didn't pay that for the phone - that's free Grin but if it goes missing, someone is getting a £400 phone Hmm it's a HTC Desire HD ... looks fab and I've heard great things about it. Just had a text come through saying it'll be here between '15.46-16.46' ... so I'm going to try ringing my dad in a while (give him a chance to get up and be in good mood!) and see if he can come over for those times and sign for it.

Fingers crossed for the job BamBam!!

I've now go to get ready to go to work - do not want Sad
