By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Welcome crackpot

TTL good on you for persisting and making them listen to you. I fully endorse peeing on miserable midwife.

Quiet day here. Don't want to go back to work tomorrow, am feeling really queasy most of the time but not actually being sick. Eating chocolate and crisps seems to help Grin but the thought of eating fruit makes me heave. Will need to tell the Head at school tomorrow, my TA already knows (and reckons she guessed because I declined a whole 1 cup of tea!) but I hope it'll stop there until after I have a scan, which I hope will be end of Jan/beg of feb.
My parents announced last night that they have booked to come camping in our town for a week either side of my due date Shock. Without discussing it with meAngry. They live 200 miles away and I know they're both excited and worried about being left out, but I now have visions of them turning up at the labour ward, camper-van, spaniel and all and demanding to be let in. Think I'm going to need to get my brother onside to help keep them under control PDQ

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/01/2011 18:04

Welcome Crackpot Mind you don't get stuck in the bunting and help yourself to a cocktail. Am loving the fastford to peesticks button Grin If only eh? I whole heartedly recommend the La Senza plan

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/01/2011 18:06

Cross post Esk Grin at having to call in your brother as a bouncer to the labour ward.

Dynababy · 03/01/2011 19:12

Welcome Crackpot your in the best place here!

TTL really glad you got al checked out and seen wriggly baby! Grin at peeing on evil midwife!! Mwaahhhaaaahhaahaa!

Josie hoping the crampy feelings are good sign! Are you going to PIAR this week or
just wait to see if ERTD turns up?

I'm also back to work tomorrow Esk and also still queasy and feeling like another few days off, oh well gotta go back sometime! Have my 12 week scan on Wed though so most of morning off what with travel and really looking forward to that (with a little trepidation thrown in!!)

We might need a new thread soon...this ones mighty full! Which lucky viroid is going to start the one?

takethatlady · 03/01/2011 19:32

Oooh good luck for Wednesday dynababy :)

Loving the extra pee ideas crackpot. If only you could pee down the phone and stop your mum phoning every five seconds to check if you're okay ...

Second thoughts, maybe I should stop with this idea before it goes too far ... Grin

Good luck for tomorrow vallinna. Not sure who should start the next thread - all those viroids not yet updiffed should race.

Ready, set, GO ...!

santababy2b · 03/01/2011 19:39

Just lurking. Hope everyone is doing good.

I have been lost in morning sickness for the past few days, which is actually all day feeling dizzy and retching :( DH keeps grining and saying this is a good thing Biscuit Have eaten half a packet of ginger biscuits and tried ginger tea. Any other tips from previous mums? Really worried about being back at work tomorrow...eek!

SingingMog · 03/01/2011 19:45

Waves at crackpot - hello!

LOL at TTL letting out a bit of pee on the midwife!

Oh no Esk! Defo get the bro on the doors Grin. Tell him he can pee on them (it seems to be the theme around here at the mo)!

Loads of us back at work tomorrow.... really can't be arsed with it tbh Hmm. Poo.

Bought a little hot water bottle to put on my bean belly when I get a cramp! Very cute! And Josie I have had cramping since I oved, so it is a viable symptom Wink. xxx

Eskarina · 03/01/2011 20:38

Will be thinking of Dyna and santababy tomorrow, wondering if you're managing not to be sick on people. My class won't be back until wed so there's even less distraction from being queasy!

Mog hope the cramps settle down soon. I had nasty period-pain-type ones from about weeks 3-5. Be sparing with your hot water bottle though. I used my wheat sack to try to ease them then read that you shouldn't get over heated, esp around womb (this was after taking a really hot bath because I had a fever and was trying to get rid of the shivers!)

Love the idea of telling bro to pee on people whilst being bouncer! I was thinking more he'd have to have a little talk along the lines of "back off and let her ILs have a look-in" Grin

takethatlady · 03/01/2011 22:16

esk after hours of googling I discovered rich teas, apple cut up with peanut butter on it (really), sparkling water (there are flavoured varieties in big bottles for about 40p in Tesco's) and twiglets. Without them I'd have starved to death in November/early December!

Better get training your brother, too, I'd say. Any other tips on hospital bouncers greatly appreciated ...

Still spotting here Hmm and in trouble with DH because I told his sister I'd been to the hospital (am really close to all his sisters) and she told their parents, and he hadn't told them. Now he's miffed that I worried them and on the phone doing damage control ... whoops. Still, I'm sure they're fine about it and I'm filling up a water pistol with pee just in case he gets arsey later on Grin

JosieSmith1 · 04/01/2011 09:00

Dyna I?m going to wait for ERTD, if I can! It?s very reliable and always arrives on day 28-29 so if it hasn?t arrived by this sat I will POAS

Esk my in-laws were the same when my nephew was born. He was their first grandchild (there?s now 5 of them) and they were in the hospital all through her labour waiting to have the first look! I?ve told DH when/if I ever go into labour we?re not telling anyone until it?s over, and I?ve had a shower Grin

PMSL TakeThat at filling up water pistol with pee! Hope the damage control goes well

Oooo thanks Mog. I have decided it is definitely my month as I have been craving milk and yoghurts. Obviously I need calcium to grow something? Grin

Just been told that team manager?s daughter is in labour. Of course I wish her good luck, but am a tad jealous

Miffles · 04/01/2011 09:22

Morning folks,

Am back at work, but not much work to do, amazingly! Really glad to have a quiet break-in to the whole work idea - not keen at all!

I'm almost struggling to keep up with who is pg and who's not! I think us nots are in the minority now....although a few AWOL....Nickel around? Truffkin ?

Glad to hear MS is kicking in for you pg-viroids. At least you will feel more pg with symptoms. And so know you'd be complaining like anything if you didn't have it!! Grin

Good luck for today Vallinna - waiting to hear your levels now. And Dyna - 12 week scan tomorrow - can't believe it's come round so quick!

And welcome to Crackpot. It sounds like you'll fit right in here.

I'm struggling with clomid side effects again. Insomnia and night sweats/flushes. So annoying. Think should only be another few days or a week before I can sleep peacefully again. Hearing how far many of you have got reminds me how far I still have to go. Really really thought that 2010 would be my year and have found it hard coming to another year non-upduffed. But the clomid is doing what it's meant to and just got to keep on keeping on, I guess. Sigh.

vallinnapod · 04/01/2011 10:24

Thanks ladies - blood taken...now just have to wait for the results call...ARGH!

vallinnapod · 04/01/2011 10:25

Oh, BTW - was sooooooooo relaxed about everything yesterday and today I am the complete opposite :(

Think my boobs are achy and I feel a bit sick and completely knackered but I pretty sure I can put all this down to the gym, anxiety and not sleeping :(

Truffkin · 04/01/2011 10:28

Hi there lovely viroids and Happy New Year! Sorry have been MIA over the holidays but can assure you it is because I was off having a wonderful time and actually taking a good rest from thinking about any TTC business! Back to earth with a bump today though after being off since 23rd December, can't believe how quickly the time has gone.

Firstly I need to say a huuuuuuge congratulations to Vallinna so happy for you and hope todays' HCG results give you the best news.

Mog congrats to you too, hoping your BFP starts a tidal wave for us!

TTL glad you got to see your sprog again and that everything is ok, it seems even once you have that mystical BFP there are still things to worry about, if not more than before!

Sorry you were so poorly Nervous and glad you are better now. I also managed to catch a sickness bug over Christmas and couldn't keep anything down for a day or two. Luckily I got over it fairly quickly and think of it as a good way to have kept my festive over-eating in check!

Welome Crackpot and congrats on the successful La Senza purchases. I also had some fun in the La Senza sale and utilised the 'which set would you like me to wear dearest?' before going out, with much the same result Wink

Dyna hope the scan goes well this morning, looking forward to hearing your update.

Josie fingers crossed this is your month and the BFPs do come in threes.

Miffles thanks for my shout out. I had managed to catch up with a couple of other threads yesterday evening but there was so much catching up on here I waited to do it properly today rather than on my phone!

Quick update on me so you know where I am. I should be ovulating any day now so will be shortly commencing the first 2WW of 2011, although am feeling more chilled about it at the moment Hmm We were planning on moving back home (from London) when a mini-Truff arrived and now that is taking longer than we had hoped, the moving plan is coming up for scrutiny again. It's something we need to decide on as if we decide to move without being pg, I would want to wait a while before becoming pg (easier done than said it seems!) as I would not want to start a new job and then bugger off on mat leave immediately! So, we have decided to keep at it whilst I'm putting the feelers out work-wise and then if a firm offer comes up, we can review how we feel then.

Before I sign off, I will share one Blush moment with you viroids. You will (I'm sure!) recall my early and nasty ERTD just before Christmas and my moaning about another babyfail month. Well I mentioned earlier that I had a bug during the holidays and was sickly for a couple of days, but then after it went I still felt nauseous for a few days and was off my food, although not being sick. I did actually do a HPT even though I had ERTD only a week before! I felt like a right idiot, although even DH had suggested it just in case Blush what is this TTC malarkey doing to my (normally hgh performing!) brain?!

Good to be back viroids Grin

vallinnapod · 04/01/2011 10:41

Truffs we have all done the PG test when we have known it is impossible for it to give us a BFP. In fact, I think that is a requirement to be on this thread Grin Hope the bug didn't ruin your Christmas. Can't believe that's all done!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/01/2011 11:08

Slightly jealous of all you viroids back to work today. Even though I'm a SAHM and therefore don't have a job to go back to (or have a holiday from), every thing is still shut here today, so no mail. I'm waiting for a few things to arrive and have to wait a whole extra day, not to mention other things being delayed.

Otherwise all is good. xxx

vallinnapod · 04/01/2011 16:32

Hi all - HCG levels satisfactory which is a relief. I was told to avoid getting stressed out....stress levels plummeted about 4000% after than phone call.

They are still scanning me on 10th (6 weeks) but I am taking it as a positive they don't feel the need for more bloods until at least then.

JosieSmith1 · 04/01/2011 16:34

Just a quickie Blush

DH didn't get that supervisor job he's been working his backside off for the last 6 months for. He's really happy though as the pressure's off and his wages luckily are only dropping a tenner a year.

No news on team manager's daughter yet, I'm sure she would have been on the phone had the baby arrived

Still a bit crampy here, so much so that I have been checking for ERTD arriving early, which it hasn't Confused. It's never arrived early.

SingingMog · 04/01/2011 19:26

Thanks for the advice Esk, although it turned out it didn't make that much difference (probably for them best otherwise I would have a baked bean)!

TTL am sure DH will get over it. You can always have a water pistol duel with him in the garden if necessary!

Josie ooooo Grin mine was always reliably on time too. Not this time Wink. Fingers massively crossed.

Miffs I am sure your time will come soon, the clomid must be doing it's stuff for you to have all those symptoms

Truffkin, if you think ttc is messing up your brain now - wait until you're upduffed; seem to recall a few preggers ladies referring to their 'pregnancy brains' as being the source of troubles!

I am jealous of you NMCB being a SAHM! Do you fancy swapping for a few days, maybe around coursework deadline time? Wink

vallinna HUZZAH!!!

Just to make it seem real I POA-digital-S when I got in from work. I think I'm finally starting to believe it now. Made docs appt today too, but earliest available is next week! How rubbish is that?!

NervousNelly · 04/01/2011 20:51

Hello viroids. Remember me? Grin. Feel like I've not been on here for ages. I started to get early PMT on Hogmanay (which basically means for me, swearing A LOT, and having sarcastic conversations with inanimate objects Hmm). It usually starts kicking off up to a week before ERTD is due, which is really fucking annoying depressing as it means I never get to really play the "am I or aren't I?" game. So I went in a bit of a sulk and kept of MN for a few days, concentrating on my horses and actually - woooo hoooo- catching enough of a weather break to go out riding :)

Anyway I'm over it Grin. Also had to go back to work today which was a bit of a shock. I'm really quite tired Wink. Which of course, makes me think it's a symptom . ERTD due in the next day or two. Which will improve my mood no end!

Welcome to Crackpot. Great to have a newbie - just don't do a "kitten"! As Miffles says, the non-upduffed amongst us seem to be in the minority now, so it's great to get new recruits! But as we've said many times before, we're glad you PG lot stay!

Holy Shit - just seen a Creme Egg advert. It's the 4th of January - Easter is MONTHS away Shock. Talking of which, wonder how she is! And also, BB - please say hello to let us know you are ok? We miss you :)

Will try to be a better viroid, however being back at work is a bit of a distraction!

localcrackpot · 04/01/2011 21:21

'lo all :) thanks for all the hellos. is "doing a kitten" getting upduffed within seconds of introducing onesself?

singingmog are you by any chance an english teacher? all sounds remarkably familiar to me. latest work gem is any piece of coursework which doesn't match that child's fftd grade is going to be redone with me 1:1 in my own time. when HoD said that I cried, but now some time has passed I'm glad I didn't point and laugh. I'd rather be regularly upduffed and enjoying some maternity leave with some pink and wriggly ones.

anyway, in the spirit of viroids I necked a bit of emmenthal and am having a nice pot of stewed yorkshire tea. in truth I didn't even think about the cheese, but then I'm only on CD9 of 30, so it's academic.

eskarina that's dreadful news, but I think we might have just targeted your birth plan pee offensive... bit alarmed by the prospect of in laws "having a look in" mid-birth. my ILs can keep their eyes well out of my chuff, whether I'm babylicious or not. (shudder)

bit knackered after first day back. hope you're all having a good time. on shagwatch, been too knackered even to catch the lad with his kit off in clothes-to-jamas transition. may jump him while he's asleep later, got to keep one's end up (arf).

takethatlady · 05/01/2011 08:27

esk my mum has on several occasions asked or hinted that she'd like to be at the birth. Luckily she lives 2 hours away and we won't be telling her I've gone into labour - just that the baby is born. Otherwise she will be driving up immediately. What is wrong with people?!

vallinna yip yip about your HCG levels. They rise differently for different people anyway so I'm sure all is great, and 10th is only 5 days away (I know, 5 days is ages when you're waiting) so soon you'll be six weeks, the baby will be fully tucked in, and you can celebrate your upduffedness!

I am pissed off because I tried to get the flu jab before Christmas and it had run out, tried to get it at my mum's GP (run out), tried to get it this week at my own GP (run out), and Boots/Tesco won't give it to you if you're pregnant. Now DH is coming home from school with dizziness, lightheadedness, and sore throat. I also woke up with a sore throat ... Hmm

vallinnapod · 05/01/2011 09:03

TTL I've had similar flu jab issues. I can get it atmy docs but just can't get an appt that fits around work. Boots and the 2 private clinics I tried wouldn't do it under 12 weeks - which makes alarm bells ring so am thinking of giving it a miss. If that MN chat with the flu man is anything to go by the flu season is 7 weeks long and now at least 5 weeks in...

BrassicaBabe · 05/01/2011 09:08

Helloooo!!!!!! 'Tis I! Grin

I've had heavy cold, MS, swine flu, pukey tummy bug (not MS), baby-panics, Xmas, 10 for Xmas dinner AND Mum and Dad staying for a week over Xmas!!! It was all more than I could bare!

Off to catch up. Back in a bit
x

takethatlady · 05/01/2011 09:30

bb! Hello hello! Glad you're back - was worrying about you. Just the usual festive backlog, I see ... hope all is going well. How many weeks are you now? I am 15 1/2 weeks, spotting, flu dodging, and generally over the MS (apart from the odd violent chuck up).

Thanks vallinna :) No point worrying about it anyway, I suppose ...
