Hi ive been posting on the miscarrage forum but now feel ready to start all over again!
My story, Had my first MMC in nov 2007, followed by an erpc (worst moment of my life) this was my first pregnancy and i felt robbed. Waited for two periods and got pg with my little DD in feb 2008, i had a great pg and birth but was on constant knicker alert. We decided when she was two we would like another baby to add to the familiy, we decided to try in sept this year and got pg first time! (very shocked) I was so hoping this would be my time to have a stress free pg and actually enjoy the experience! How wrong i was, i started to spot at six weeks had a scan which showed a sac but no baby, i then enjoured the worst two week of my life by having scan and blood tests. I was told on the 8th on nov the pregnany was not going to continue and i had a blighted ovum, and on the 9th i had a erpc. I have recovered well and stopped bleeding the day after the procedure. I went to see my doc last week who told me i could start ttc asap as long as i feel up to it?? anyone else ttc straight away, last time i was told to wait and i did but this time i have read that there is no lit to say wait apart from to date the pg?? Im hoping there are some people who can share there experiences and someone who wants to join me!

oops sorry kitkey if I worried you, I can only go on my own situation, which is entirely different i suppose as I was a natural, I got a negative a week after i stopped bleeding, google knows alot more than me! xx

kitkey · 25/11/2010 19:19

No worries Brought - no one can stress me more than myself - I am having many stresses everyday about retained products, asherman's syndrome, molar pregnancy, the end of the world, the sky falling in - you name. Thanks for all input and advice. Will post back soon when feel that my body is "ripe" to ttc instead of an abandoned factory Sad

Star82 · 25/11/2010 19:57

Hi Kitkey welcome :)
Just in case it makes you feel a little better, i took a test on sunday which was 7 days post ERPC and this was positive. I also took another last night at 10 days post op and it was still positive, albeit not as strong as Sunday's. I think i may speak to GP if i don't get a negative on Sunday as that would be exactly 2 weeks since the op. I also was really paniced about Ashermans so you're not alone in your anxiety.
Just a thought, Brought said the negative was 7 days after she stopped bleeding, now i've only stopped spotting at the beginning of the week so that may be why.

kitkey · 25/11/2010 20:16

Thanks Star. I have just slight bit of spotting today. Going to try to stop poas until next wednesday now Hmm. All the anxiety is awful - just want a period or ov signs again. I had the ERCP done under local and went on about Asherman's quite a lot when talking to the consultant whilst she was getting all the stuff sorted for it - she probably thought i was barking mad - she did 2 attempts with the suction thingywijig - 1 attempt then scanned then another go and scanned again and said it was all out - was so grateful and a bit drugged up that shouted thankyou so much! I want to end this chapter of my life and move on and knicker check for ewcm.

wonnaywombat · 26/11/2010 07:28

Hi kitkey and welcome to this thread. Totally know what you mean about the worrying about everything. You did make me chuckle with your shouted thanks Smile. Rant away here - everyone is a v good listener.

I'm not daring to POAS until a week or so. I was supposed to have a check up with my ob/gyn 2 weeks after ERPC which is this Sunday but when I phoned to book, she's apparently booked up til Jan! I'd like to at least talk to her to see what the check up should involve and I'll find someone else who can do. Really want to move on as kitkey says but keen to get the "all clear" first....

brought - sorry to read about your work targets. I too thought work would be a distraction but if I look back at what I"ve actually done over the last 3 weeks, it's almost nothing....

DH's bday today so we had a lovely breakfast and off sofa shopping later and dinner with friends tonight - am slightly alarmed by how much I am enjoying being able to drink again! Blush

Happy friday everyone

Star82 · 26/11/2010 21:40

Everyone ok? Hope so.
I too am enoying the odd tipple.
DH taking me out for a night on the town tomorrow night which should be fun. Meeting friends later on in the evening. It's the first time we've been out together, where we've moved to, so not sure what it will be like of an evening. Hopefully lots of dancing and good music!! :)

Star82 · 27/11/2010 08:11

We have snow in South Yorkshire girls!!!

RunningOutOfIdeas · 27/11/2010 08:47

Morning All! We don't have snow here (Surrey), but it is very cold. DD has ballet and swimming lessons today. I would rather hibernate, but DH is away so I will have to take her.

Did you have a good night out Star82 and wonnaywombat?

wonnaywombat · 27/11/2010 10:48

oooh - jealous of your snow star!

Running - thanks for asking - we had a truly fab evening. Wonderful food, wine and company and while I was a bit tipsy, I was actually fine talking about it with a couple of our friends there and it was great to hear all the lovely things they said. I'm originally a Surrey girl and have v fond memories.... hope you have lots of nice snuggly things to rug up with and DH is back soon.

How's everyone else? Enjoying the weekend?

yellowtomato · 27/11/2010 11:09

Morning all
I'm just starting to feel a bit better after my night out on Thursday. Lots of cocktails and dancing - I've somehow bruised my toes!
Was feeling v tired the whole day yesterday but a bit more myself today. Was great to let off a bit of steam and pretend I was young again! Tee hee.....dancing is so much fun. Grin
Glad you had a good night wonnay it's so nice to have great friends to talk to.
Star hope you have a good night tonight!

We don't have snow here yet (London) but it is very cold and I don't feel tempted to go out at all. It is a day for whacking the heating on and laying on the sofa, although I may venture to the gym. I think I need to after all the wine and cocktails.
I'm still on 'gusset watch' there is no pant snot to be seen.....actually nothing at all which is disappointing. I know you're all keen for an update. Grin

How is everyone else and what are the snow/gusset updates?

wonnaywombat · 27/11/2010 16:46

That must have been some dancing to bruise your toes yellowtomato!

Have been watching some of the football matches there in the UK and can't believe how chilly it looks! No chance of any snow here other than in the indoor ski slope!

Finally stopped bleeding today and really hoping that it doesn't start up again so won't be checking the gusset for a little while - will be sure to keep you up to speed though - told DH about the "pant snot" expression yesterday and he couldn't stop laughing!

Star82 · 28/11/2010 02:10

Great night out thanks. Just so cold after waiting for half an hour for a pre booked taxi to turn up.....flagged another down eventually as my toes were freezing!!
Yes Wombat, been at the football myself today and it was sooooo cold. I watched the first half and went inside for the second half. Was really bitterly cold today.
Quite a few friends i have are in Dubai now and i do enzy them at this time of the year, haha!!
Did another preg test and i'm still positive although it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since ERPC x

broughthimroundtotheidea · 28/11/2010 12:48

Hi ladies
Looks like we have all been out on the tiles! I am in the never again club this morning. We have snow here (lincolnshire) and its blumming freezing.
I had a moment yesterday, we were shopping in meadowhall and went passed the mamas and papas shop.
Hope you are all ok xxx

Star82 · 28/11/2010 13:06

Ah, just on our way down to meadowhall soon. That or the Westfield shopping center on derby. Taking dh's mum back to derby as she babysat last night for us. You're not too far from where I'm from originally. We were about 5 mins away from sherwood forest center parcs :)

OP posts:
Beesok · 28/11/2010 22:34

Hey everyone! Hope you are all OK - sorry I have again had a long week at work and it seems the next few weeks until Christmas will be a nightmare :(

On the plus side I just came back from watching the ATP finals - Nadal vs Federer! Shame that Nadal won but it was a great match ;)

Off to bed now - I have to be at work at 7:30.........an it's soooooo cold :(
good night ladies!

Re spotting - am still having annoying brown spotting which get more intense after running - how long is this supposed to last????

Beesok · 28/11/2010 23:06

I mean "shame that Nadal lost" of course :(((((( !

wonnaywombat · 29/11/2010 05:23

Morning all! Sounds like everyone had a good weekend despite the cold - brr.....

Nurse - can't help with the boob thing - mine have only been sore when PG

beesok - most Envy of you watching the tennis - I luuuuurve watching both Federer and Nadal play - absolute masters of the game. re: the spotting - I am now 2 weeks and 1 day post ERPC and I think I may finally have stopped bleeding / spotting but had the same issues post running. I think anything up to 2 weeks is considered "normal" and from memory, you'll be 2 weeks on Thursday....? It is indeed v annoying.

Who was asking about Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park? A friend of mine went this weekend and said it was brilliant, particularly with the current weather.

Have had a mixed last couple of days - thoroughly enjoyed a bit of retail therapy with DH over the weekend and then had a call yesterday morning to say my ob/gyn had a cancellation for yesterday afternoon and could I go in for the check up. I did and there were a lot of "positives" from it - they did tests on the retained products (I do hate that expression) and there was nothing untoward e.g. part molar preganancy or similar and nothing to have explained why it could have happened, so most likely to be cromosonal. She also scanned me and said the lining was looking lovely and smooth and nothing to stop us trying again. She took a quick swab too to double check for infection as apparently cultures love to breed in blood. She also told me about her 2 latest births were both women older than me (37) one of whom had been trying for her 2nd DC for the last 11 years(!) and the other who (like me) had 2 mcs followed by this perfectly normal pregnancy with healthy baby girl. So lots of good stuff to take away, strangely though I felt quite low afterwards - just a stark reminder of what has happened I think.... she also seemed optimistic that my 2nd MC was later than my 1st (approx 10 weeks as opposed to 7) and said that next time I am PG (fingers, toes etc all crossed) then to let her know straight away and she will prescribe progesterone supplements. She's v up to date with UK best practice and said that while the RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) have not yet issued official guidelines on these supplements, all evidence is pointing to positive outcomes (and they are prescribed as a matter of course for all IVF and IUI patients). I've had a quick look on the RCOG website which I'd not seen before and they seem to have a lot of interesting info there - see this link if you're curious.

So, what a long post! Hope you are all rugged up and have a great start to the week x

Sparklywine · 29/11/2010 10:47

Morning ladies! No snow yet in Manchester but it looks to be on it's way, it was freezing over the weekend. I was looking out Christmas decorations in the shed and couldn't feel my fingers. Nurse you mentalist, it's not even December Grin I'm planning on getting a tree at the weekend, just working out how I can prevent two kittens from destroying exploring it!
I believe I have detected the presence of EWCM so I'm going to have to seduce DH with my wily ways tonight. Not easy on a freezing Monday with a bit of a wine head, but needs must! I've just been on Amazon and ordered some pregnancy sticks for a bargain price, so I can resume my Friday treat-testing!
Sounds like you all had lively weekends, I on the other hand cleaned out my fridge. It was truly disgusting, shelves covered in leaky jar gunge of many years.
Wonnay, sounds like you are getting expert treatment, and am pleased that you have lovely lining, that has to be a boost Grin

wonnaywombat · 29/11/2010 11:34

sparkly - you have made me chuckle. Of all the things to be complimented on, I'd never thought about my lining before! Grin Best of luck with the seduction tonight

yellowtomato · 29/11/2010 15:03

sparkly I'm jealous of the EWCM, I'd love some of that stuff. I've cracked and ordered some pre-seed online although as we're waiting for after the first AF it might be some time before you need it.

wonnay it does sound like your doctor is being very thorough which is good but I guess going through it all in so much detail must bring it back a bit. I'm wondering what questions I should prepare for my appt next Thurs. I think that might be a bit of a let down because it is really just a first appt to organise tests so I don't expect I'll learn much.

It's very cold here and unfortunately I've got my evening class tonight which won't be so easy to get to what with the tube strike and all.

I wanted to put our tree up but DP won't let me until Dec so I guess it'll be next weekend.

Sorry that work is so difficult Beesok I am in a bit of a mess of my own making because I haven't done much the last couple of weeks so I am in a bit of a deadline crisis and def shouldn't be on here!

Oooh and in other news we did the deed yesterday...good to get back in the saddle!

waves to everyone.....right must go....

wonnaywombat · 29/11/2010 16:09

Hi yellowtomato - bah humbug re: not being able to put up the tree! And double bah humbug to the tube strike - can't believe they're at it again...

For the questions for the check-up - do you get a scan? I was reassured to hear about the smooth lining as I think that means Ashermans is less likely. I completely forgot to ask about POAS and whether you "should" or if its just for curiosity sake. I've resisted the temptation so far. I always think about writing the questions down and then always forget.... what do you do?

ooh - and congrats on DTD Grin

Star82 · 29/11/2010 18:12

Yellow. what is pre seed?? Excuse my ignorance. Not heard of this before. Is your appointment a follow up to the ERPC or investigations into why you m/c?

Echoing everyone else, you sound as though your aftercare has been spot on Wombat. You must be reassured that all is well. It was me asking about Winter Wonderland :) Thanks.

Also, Yellow, we did the deed too last night. Everything was fine if a little delicate, but that might all be in my head.

Sparkly your fridge sounds like mine :). I'm popping over to the Trafford Center on Friday i think. Hope the snow holds off there as we come over the Peak District on a windy road which could be a nightmare!!!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 29/11/2010 18:22

Hi Ladies
Are you talking about the snake pass star if so I think you must be mental!!
yellow preeseed is a lubricant which apparently helps the little swimmers get to their destination more easily.
I am feeling totaly bah humbug and can't see me getting into the spirit at all and this is the first year I get a decent break over christmas in my working life! Don't know what is wrong with me to be honest but am in a really bad mood! My day didn't start well when the school bus didn't come through our village because of the snow leaving my daughter and friends standing and causing me to be half an hour late for work after delivering her.
Good luck with your deed doing girls, I read somewhere that you are extra fertile after ERPC so we could even have a positive test between us for christmas. Fingers crossed xxxx

Star82 · 29/11/2010 19:45

Not Snake Pass Brought. I would be mad!!!Used to do that route when we were Mansfield way though. Think its the A628. Crosses over the Peak and into Manchester through Hyde and the v short JM67 motorway :).
If you are Lincs, you have all the lovely Christmas markets to look forward to in Lincoln!! Don't be too hard on yourself though. We're all still very sensitive and delicate. I'm sure you'll pick up once the kids start with all their festivities :)
