A safe haven for those just off the mc rollercoaster and thinking about getting back on or are already on the TTC rollercoaster. Be warned these lovely ladies chat, and the thread moves lightening fast, but all are welcome to join in any time Smile

For those who have just mc'd, there is great info about your first cycle here

If you want to add yourself into the stats, just copy and paste the lot, change everyones CD (cycle day) if necessary and add yourself in.
WTF = first cycle after mc
WTTC = waiting to TTC
CD = cycle day
UCL = usual cycle length

Ps who was it who was emailing fertile dates?

Urm.... Did that!! For the year.... Gosh yes I know I will get flamed,.... Grin

MummyinEngland · 17/11/2010 16:50

Hello! TheMummyReturns!Grin

I was just going to catch up but I am 7 pages behind, Shock will save it up for a long read tonight when DS is in bed.

So, welcome to the new people, congrats to anyone with a BFP and sorry for anyone who just got AF (that will have to do for nowHmm Grin)

In my news...

Well DS enjoyed his flight over from Costa Rica immensly, he keeps asking me when we are going on a big plane againSmile but mainly he just keeps saying "brrrrrrrr cold mummy cold!" (me too actually !!)

I had my op yesterday, HSG + hysteroscopy. Recovery is not too bad, feels like really bad period pain, keeps me awake at night but otherwise manageable. Just been out to Boots (oooh how I have missed Boots!) to get some stronger drugs and a hot water bottle.

I didnt get any idea of how the surgery went from the docs point of view, because I spoke to him when I was coming round from the GA and was too groggy to ask any decent questions! I am seeing him again tomorrow though so hopefully will get some long awaited for answers. I am feeling quietly excited, but I know at the same time its probably not a good idea to get my hopes up and then get disapointed. I just want him to tell me he got all the scar tissue out though!

Hope you are all well, I have missed you all lots! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

AandRMum · 17/11/2010 17:07

LadyB I think the only way to approach this is to become the master of the quickie in whatever location you are in - then you can get back to laptop poodling legs in air 5mins later without feeling like it requires any big effort!

AandRMum · 17/11/2010 17:10

MummyE welcome back! Glad you are dosed up and warmed up ... it is coooollllddd. Can't wait to hear what the doc has to say.

Wombat33 · 17/11/2010 17:13

Afternoon all and hello mummye!!! Good luck for the consult tomorrow.

Am off to the theatre this eve so will do proper catch upp tomorrow xxx

Velvetcu · 17/11/2010 17:16

Glad it all went ok Mummy :) looking forward to more news from you.

Can someone move me to the bottom of the list please - the bitch is here and boy does she seem angry this month!!

That was my last chance before due date :( Am starting to think it wont happen ever. How do you get over that?

Have a good evening xx

youremindmeofthebabe · 17/11/2010 17:19

Hand-hold velvet We'll get through it together Smile ((hugs))

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 17/11/2010 17:28

wow - you've been chatty while I've been working - not sure I can catch up with all that so I'm just popping on to send big (((hugs))) to velvet , I'm sorry she got you, I really thought it was looking good for you this month Sad. This is my last chance before due date and I'm not getting my hopes up, it's a huge milestone isn't it? And no, I don't know how you cope with it, but we're all here for you whenever you need us...

Also a big ((hug)) to mummye am pleased to hear you're recovering well and will keep my fx for you tomorrow, you deserve a big bucket of good news Smile

ladybee I do know what you mean about not wanting everyone to move on without you, don't get me wrong, I really really want everyone here to get their bfp as soon as possible, but I would really really miss everyone (and also I want one too now ). Let's hope we all get some good news in the not-too-distant future!

nicks well done re the panic-shagging! Are you on the case again tonight are you officially 2wwing now?

MamaPower · 17/11/2010 17:28

Well said YRMOTB, it's the only way to stay sane Smile Velvet I only have one more shot before due date so I feel an impending grey cloud, big hugs my love.

Welcome back mummye, wishing you a speedy recovery xx

Dachs you got the right idea, me and mutt got drenched! Bah!

try again

my chart

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 17/11/2010 19:01

nicks lol at 150m willy Grin ouch!!

Looked at your chart - do you reckon maybe you ov'd around dip on day 19 and ff hasn't drawn your crosshairs yet because it needs 3 temps above coverline? It looks like it might put your coverline quite high because some of your earlier temps are high. If that's the case, it'll probably draw them on tomorrow?

I'm under orders to go again tonight so will have to see if DH is willing. Acu predicted my temps would go up again today (they did) and she's now said she thinks over next 48 hours they will go down and then up again, which will show ov. Not 100% convinced because that would give me a really early (for me) ov and the CBFM has only just gone to high, but then again she's been scarily accurate so far so we'll have to see...

nickstermum · 17/11/2010 19:48

Ah so Izz, if i didnt have that high temp on the 5/6 th day do you think it would have already drawn it? I have no symptoms of OV no cm no high cervix etc. will see what it brigns tomorrow. I am much warmer, plus also i didnt temp for the week before ov..could that have thrown things?

Ok time for a catch up

mamap glad you are acclimatising back, trade the mutt in for a moggy, get shoved out the cat flap in our house! [down side is that have to scoop up entrails/boot little cat up the ass when she brings breakfast in for big cat in the form of a bluebird as was this mornings antics] Great swimmers analogy, i laughed muchly at the swimmers chilling out with their pals, on the pull til they pull and get their coats Grin Grin

Freeze sorry the red witch arrived :( but orange glad she has arrived for you, closure and moving on!

bee try a homeopathic remedy for DS cough, do you have a kit? Belladonna 200 works for us, quite literally stops it dead. (my DS had bad chest problems from birth due to collapsed lung and suffered consequent constant chest infections/croup through his first 18 months...right as ninepence now Smile Try DS if he wont take anything pop it under his lip whilst he slumbers.
Bryonia also works/pulsatilla/depends on the type of cough. Beats dosing up with calpol but tbh sometimes thats the only thing that works. IMHO cough mixtures dont work but that was just us!

AR masters of the quickie.... call you she-ra then huh? how do you manage it?! my pelvic floors are shot, cant clench anymore Blush tmi!

dachs bet those embies are making themselves sooper comfy! Everything crossed for you babes xxx

babes hope you are ok, been baking anything much lately, velvet lots of chocs to help you feel better :)

Finally - TWINNY!!! aka fondant dont worry lovely i tucked you away under the duvet so DH didnt see you Grin hope we didnt disturb you?! Check out my chart what do you think? Have you tested yet?!?!?!!?

mummy can you have a ganders at my chart when you feel well enough to see what you think? Hope you get to catch up later.... its good you are here but its a shame you had to come iyswim!

Anyone else i have missed - SOZ!

Choccybick · 17/11/2010 20:08

Helloooooooo

Hope you´re all "OK" Havent read you lot for a whole week so Im gonna do some catching up reading and promise to be back n actively stressing about TTC from tomorrow onwards with you peeps. Grin
Due to the fact that Ive been away a lot this month it looks like it gonna be a BFN month in the choccy household. unless..........

who knows!?

I must go and order a thermometer to temp from next month onwards.!

c u later
Big waves to all of you lovelies

PinkFondantFancy · 17/11/2010 20:16

Hello all! Hope you're all comfy, this might be a long one....

First of all, AF has been busy as she's come to me too, so I'll be unceremoniously putting myself at the bottom of the list tomorrow so dates tie up with the shag dictator. Longest ever cycle since mc-they are getting longer every month which is frankly scaring the sh!t out of me, especially since temps are so random, am convinced something is going/has gone wrong :( Sorry she got you velvet, I really thought this month was your month :( I can report that having the following symptoms simultaneously unfortunately does not signal impending BFP:
Being knackered all the time
Peeing all the time
Dying of thirst
Disturbed sleep
Really Sore boobs with massive new blue veins
Bizarre pant snot
Being ridiculously irrational, emotional, bitchy and crying for no reason
Nausea and loss of appetite
Feeling cold all the time
Food tasting weird
AF being late and feeling like it's impending for about 10 days before it arrives

Gah, had my hopes up this month, again, due to above mentioned collection of plausible symptoms :(. Have to agree that I am also feeling v disheartened and like it's never going to happen.....

However, I did go to a really interesting seminar today at work led by a consultant gynae from hammersmith ivf clinic about fertility and I thought I'd share some of it with you as I found it quite reassuring and some of it v interesting. Here goes:

  • humans are as bad at reproducing as the blue whale (and they aren't exactly doing brilliantly as a species...) - if two 17 year olds shagged every day, they'd only have a 15-20% chance of conceiving in any one month.however, he reckons that 90% of couples (even if they're not 17) will conceive within a year of trying, which I find reassuring although daunting as I guess I've already used up my lucky one shot on the mc pg.... Interestingly rabbits ovulate every time they shag which explains their breeding success!!
  • if you have a shorter cycle it's possible that you're ovulating while you're still bleeding so dtd on cd2 could get you pg-there's been a study where people were allocated a single calendar day in their cycle to dtd just once in the cycle, and it resulted in pregnancies from every single allotted day (not sure I explained that very well, hopefully makes sense)
  • he says it's perfectly rational that people are so impatient to get pg when they start ttc as we live in a society where you're told that missing 1 pill will result in instant pg doom and everything else in our lives is instant eg order groceries online at 10pm, delivered the next day at 6am. This really resonated for me-I really am struggling with the waiting, especially as I feel like it's come so easily to all my friends and people around me.

I hope this was a bit interesting for you guys too-it's helped me cling onto a bit of zen today. I also got a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling that work lays this stuff on-can't imagine many employers would and I found it reassuring that I was surrounded by loads of normal looking ladies that clearly weren't exactly having a smooth path to get pg either.

mummya I have everything crossed for you for your appointment tomorrow!!! It is v cold, it's not just you!!

dachs how's the chilling out going? I am so jealous of your doggies!! I so want some but the poor things would be lonely for 12 hours a day so haven't got any.

lady I feel exactly the same xx hope your ds is feeling better v soon.

mamap I have the same boob thing, I think I've only had it since mc too.

wombat have a lovely evening! V cultured!!

Hehe nix good work, keep them nice and warm!

orange and velvet will you be my cycle buddies?? Could do with some handholding through this one... You too ^freezing and knitter*.

Hello to everyone else, I'm gonna swipe one of these yummy jumbo toberlerones and sort myself out some dins. Sorry for the v v v long post!!! Xx

nickstermum · 17/11/2010 20:30

fondant hugs xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 17/11/2010 20:43

gah no worries, I'm tucked up on the sofa with a glass of red wine and a huge bowl of soft goats cheese risotto - it's not all bad Grin. Hehe thanks for hiding me last night, glad I didn't put DH off!!!! hehehehehehehehe so wrong Grin xx
