Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

OP posts:
dannid · 18/02/2011 20:46

Hello! Hope you dont mind me joining in!? We are TTC our 2nd...Been trying since Sept but with no luck yet. Started off very calm about it all but each month I seem to be getting more and more obsessed. Is nice reading your messages and knowing that it seems to be completely normal to be like this! :) Seems like all I do lately is pee on sticks! Wink

AF is due on monday and I have tested for the last 3 days with negative results...have been feeling really sick all day though but I have also been having cramps (something I never got when I was on the pill)so think that this month is probably not our month :( Still got my fingers crossed though!!

Good luck to you all!

weimy · 19/02/2011 11:32

I'm due on Wed but have the same symptoms as you :( will keep fX for you!

fragglerocks · 20/02/2011 20:50

Sorry to hear you're feeling crap weimy big hugs and FX, I have no idea about temps but it's not over until the fat lady sings as they say!

Well SWI starts this week! Woohoo! Only problem is that DH has a really stressful job and he's been extra busy this week and will be next week aswell, been asleep practically all weekend so I have told him I will have to jump on him every other morning as by the evenings he's absolutely knackered!

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all ok and have had a good weekend!

Hi all,

Both myself and my DP have decided to TTC. It has come as a big shock to me that DP agreed, as we're a newish couple and i'm currently studying at university.

Although i have wanted to TTc for sometime now, i only expressed my feelings with DP a few nights ago and he agreed straight away so it's really exciting.

I'm hoping that it wont take long, because of my university course and the need for time off. Although i don't have regular C.D's so it's hard to pin point exactly the best time to SWI.

Now that we have both decided that it's the best time to TTC it's made it very exciting. However, we're both a bit :s about what parents will say :S

Any advice would be great :D

We're just a bit worried what our parents will say :s

Summerbird73 · 21/02/2011 16:03

wow Oceynorm that is a brave decision to make! very exciting too.

How old are you both? When will your uni course finish? how long have you been together? Sorry for lots of Qs: i am just asking so we can try to gauge what the parents will say (and maybe empathise with you/your parents).

lots of people have babba's during uni courses and go on to study afterwards. My friend did her dissertation with a 6mo and did very well but she did say it was bloody hard work, much harder than when she had her second one 2 years later when they were both working. Personally i couldnt contemplate it (but then i am a 38yo old fogie!) as the nights are so long at first, and it is just so overwhelming.

BUT if you are both made of stronger stuff then it is do-able. Also if you are at the tail end of your course then hopefully you wont be studying when the tornado hits!! Smile

weimy · 21/02/2011 18:33

welcome Oceynorm !!!!

fragglerocks · 21/02/2011 19:10

WOOHOO Congratulations dannid That has to be the record for the shortest member of the group!!!

Welcome oceynorm Good luck, I know some favour the method of temping and others use OV sticks, I just go for shagging every other day, hopefully it will work for us!

How you feeling summer?

Iwish · 21/02/2011 20:08

Hi all.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi!

Welcome oceynorm and dannid

summer I bet it was lovely telling your family. I havnt told mine and won't be doing till 12 weeks :). Apart from my mum and dad of course.

How are you feeling weimy?

fraggle hope you are having a mass shagathon Grin

Waves to maybe

Im shattered. Sickness hasn't been too bad the last couple of days but boobs are still sore.

maybebabyR · 21/02/2011 20:15

Evening everyone, and welcome oceynorm Smile

Waves back at Iwish

Still haven't POAS since Thursday, and am feeling increasingly tired. Fainted on way to work today, and have spent the day on the sofa either asleep, sick or crazy hungry.

If this is just my body playing tricks, I will not be impressed Confused

Summerbird73 · 21/02/2011 20:34

feeling much better thank you all for your wishes! Smile Big waves to the sex pests!

hubby is out playing squash, DS is snoring happily so am in bed with a hot choc, MN, and classic FM - marvellous! (if you are a friend of mine i am busted as that is my FaceBook status!)

maybe POAS POAS POAS!!!!!

fraggle SHAG SHAG SHAG!!!!!

iwish i think you are getting all your symptoms a few weeks ahead of me - i know i will get them all as i did with DS but i think it was circa 8 weeks. I am still prodding my boobs hoping for a tingle Hmm

Iwish · 21/02/2011 20:34

When is af due maybe?

I've just eaten 2 fab ice lollies and could eat another one, yum!

dannid · 21/02/2011 20:41

Haha yeah I guess it was pretty short fraggle! Think its all still sinking in...we weren't going to tell anyone till 12 weeks...but are both bursting to say something, so think we will probably tell our parents in the next week or so. Have still been feeling pretty sick all day...odd cause I didn't have any at all with DS1...maybe a sign it could be a girl?! Wink

Iwish · 21/02/2011 20:41

Lol summer you aren't busted by me (I actually checked facebook then ha!)
Yeh it will be your turn for the symptoms at 8 weeks and I will sit here and give you a big cyber hug :).

I caved and told my friend at work last week, felt so crap and decided I wanted her to know. She was so happy for us. Shocked as I went to a psychic and she basically said I'd have had a baby by my 25th birthday which Is 2 weeks after I'm due!! My friend is so shocked it's come true hehe.

maybebabyR · 21/02/2011 20:43

I was due yesterday Iwish no spotting or anything, just funny poking sensations every now and again!

Iwish · 21/02/2011 20:50

Aaargh I'm rubbish, takes me so long to post you have all already responded lol.

Hi dannid it's soo exciting isn't it :). Ooh yeh if it's different from when you were pg with DS it could be a girl.

dannid · 21/02/2011 21:02

I didn't even know that I was pregnant with DS1 till I was about 8 weeks Blush and even then I was just a bit more tired than ususal. I have been feeling a lot more sick this time and my boobs feel like they will explode soon...not sure I really remember that first time round either?!

maybe that is kinda how I was feeling too with the crampy poking feeling...couldn't quite put my finger on what felt different...my husband thought I was loosing the plot on Sat when I was insisting that I thought I was pregnant even though the last 3 tests had been negative!!

maybebabyR · 21/02/2011 21:15

Haha, I took one on Thursday (not FMU) and got a BFN, so want it to be a BFP that I half wonder if I am making it up Smile

Am watching one born every minute to take my mind off it Grin

dannid · 21/02/2011 21:27

Me too Grin....although now it is starting to make me a bit nervous!! Wink Am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

maybebabyR · 21/02/2011 21:34

Ah, you will be great, don't worry! Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed Smile
