digi I'm so sorry. I hope the news is good and we're here to talk whenever you need to.

Thank you mummya. I don't believe you're not the oracle but even if you're not you summarise what you've learnt in your research in a very easy to understand way. You're a star. Yes, had ewcm sat, sun and mon then started to get stickier and drier so that corresponds with opk and what felt like ov twinges. Don't feel like this will be my month but at least I know I gave it a good shot.

I'm glad you're getting some support about your ashernans research and hope you have some good news very soon.

Happy weekend everyone x

Evening all... Just wanted to give out a big hug to those feeling low. I'm lurking in the background a bit during this limbo time...but I still read what you're up to am sending positive vibes to all.
izz we only swi'd the day I got positive opk, so probably 2 days before ov and it seems to have worked... Wink
Well done on getting TT tickets, those who did, give those boys a good old scream from me!
Off to bed for a nice 9 hour break from the nausea, I know I said I wanted this...and I wouldn't change it for the world...but I don't half feel rough! mummya I have literally EVERYTHING crossed for a nice big healthy bleed in 4 days time!
Congrats on the house pretty hope you enjoyed unpacking your ikea shopping,
and digi my heart breaks for you. Really hope you're getting lots of looking after in RL Sad
Excuse the weird layout, am on my phone! Grin

HeadlessLadyBoo · 29/10/2010 22:53

pretty congrats on the house-ownership. And on surviving IKEA. My DH & I have to set ground rules when we go there together, it's the only way to get out still liking each other Grin

I'm off to a halloween party (for DS) and then to the cinema with a good friend in the evening. Am looking forward to the film and a bit of escapism. Not sure about the party, these things always bring out at least one newly pg person but mostly they don't bother me. My main concern is whether DS will cope with being a cat costume without peeing on it Grin

Sorry you think you're going through this again, digi. Fingers crossed for tuesday for you though.

DS had his Halloween party yesterday, He went as batman [hhmm], It was the closest I could get him to wear for a Halloween costume.. I am liking the idea of a cat one, boo.

here is a pumpkin Cupcake recipe for those trying to use up the leftover opumpkin, they're gorgeous. A pre-detox delight!

175g stem or glacé ginger in syrup
175g muscovado or molasses sugar
200g unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
250g pumpkin or butternut squash flesh, grated
200g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
1½ tsp each ground ginger and allspice
¼ tsp each ground nutmeg and clove
125g chopped pecans or walnuts
200g icing sugar
125g full-fat cream cheese

Finely chop 125g of the ginger. Beat sugar and 125g butter until smooth, then beat in the eggs one by one. Stir in the pumpkin and chopped ginger, sift in the flour, baking powder and spices, add the nuts and stir until smooth. Line the pockets of a deep muffin tray with muffin papers, then fill each one almost to the top.

Bake at 190C (170c fan-assisted)/ 375F/gas mark 5 for 25 minutes, then set aside to cool. Once the cupcakes are cold, beat the icing sugar, cream cheese and remaining butter until smooth. Finely shred the remaining ginger and stir most of it in, along with just enough syrup to make it easily spreadable. Swirl a dollop of icing on each cupcake and decorate with a pinch of shredded ginger.

inbetweener · 30/10/2010 09:27

morning everyone,

Firstly digi I am so sorry if you are right. Thats so rubbish for you xxxx

I am beyond peed off with myself. I am not due AF till 5/6th November but this morning I POAS. It was a first response and of course it was an absolute BFN. This is my first cycle since the mc and I suppose I have listened to all the old wives tales about being more fertile straight away and I really thought Imight see a faint bfp this morning as I have been feeling so odd. I cannot tell you how often we ave been dtd either ! OH must think its xmas ! Actually you do already know lol. Its practically been every day except 3 since I started ( allegedly) ovulating !!!!!!!

I am sooooo disopointed. Do you reckon there is a chance its cos I tested too early ?( I know I did, i'm not due till next weekend and if i've worked it out right i'm only about 10dpo) Last time the first response picked it up 4 days early for me.

I feel really stupid for testing so early cos now im peed off but some of you ladies have had results so early !!! I can not believe I have done something soooo stupid. Im in a really shitty mood and just want to cry and im supposed to be doing halloween stuff with dd !

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 30/10/2010 09:41

inbetweener - first, you're probably too early. Ok sone people get a bfp at 10dpo, but a lot don't, so I would see a neg as pretty inconclusive at that stage. Second, by thread rules I am honour-bound to slap you with a large wet fish, but will restrain myself to a gentle wave of the mackerel in your direction since you are obviously feeling [hsad]

hopefully this month will have worked for you (and bonus points for effort straight off!) but please remember that it is very early days and it's not unusual not to get a result in the first month, so don't get disheartened if it doesn't happen straight away. Will keep my fx for you though!

Right now step away from the pee sticks! [hsmile]

inbetweener · 30/10/2010 09:46

thank you. I DO deserve to be slapped. Its ridiculous. What is even more stupid is that I now have to replace the test ( not cheap !) and sneak it back in the cabinet cos I promised DH I wouldnt test till after I was late. So now im a bad person too Sad

Oh I really, really want this. I hadn't realised how much ............

Sorry, self pity mode today I feel rubbish wtf !!

hairytriangle · 30/10/2010 11:22

Digi so very sorry :( thinking of you. x

Jamface · 30/10/2010 11:30

Hope you're ok inbetweener, be a bit easy on yourself. It probably is too early and as izzy said the mc is still very recent, and even though fx it does happen this month, if it doesn't it's stll early days. I'm sure you won't be the first one on here to sneak out and buy a replacement test! [hblush]

Looks like a great recipe, thanks bat. I've been detoxing too for a few weeks and do feel pretty well on it. Dh has asked why everything we eat is orange now (butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots) - all good for healthy eggs! Not that I admitted that to him [hwink]

skeletalnix · 30/10/2010 11:31

Betweener, don't worry about testing, buy some cheapies off amazon!! I tested the day I got Af just ' to be sure' lol

Apples- great you are sicky and tired :)

Hairy hope you are feeling sicky and tired too:)

Whoop we have an ace pumpkin well done dh!

MummyAbroad · 30/10/2010 14:37

betweener I agree with Nix, get some tests off Amazon, its so much easier than torturing yourself with "Shall I, shant I?" all day everyday. You can get a pack of 25 for 5 pounds (go for the ones that have the widest strips in millimeteres), they are not great but if you are testing early you are kind of cheating anyway, so why not cheat with the cheapies and save the clearblues for when you are due AF? Smile xxxx

digitalgirl · 30/10/2010 18:01

I feel for you inbetweener my last WTF cycle I was absolutely convinced I was pg. We did it loads at the right time - which in all previous cycles had always resulted in a bfp. Did about 4 tests till I eventually conceded that it wasn't to be. The disappointment was crushing, but I got over it. And three cycles later I got another bfp. Seems to happen a lot quicker on this thread for most people - if not first cycle then 2-3 cycles later. So perhaps there is some half-truth to the fertility boost theory.

I would love to ttc straightaway - but will ask the epu for their opinion. I'd quite like them to recommend the baby aspirin and double dose of folic acid thing for the meantime while they get on with processing test results. Am sure it'll take a while for my body to get back to normal, so don't want to wait 5 months before I've had three cycles in order to then get the all clear.

tigger15 · 30/10/2010 18:46

RTD got me on friday morning. Am a bit depressed about it because it means I was 29 days last cycle and 25 this. I don't see how it can be normal to have such a wide spread particularly as I was on the hour 28 days prior to the mc. Does anyone know how you go about arranging a private appointment with a consultant?

I've updated the list with my details.

Hi tigger15 sorry to hear that. 4 days difference between cycles doesn't seem like much to me, I know you said you had very regular cycles before, but 4 days difference is still regular I think.

I don't know what my body will do this month after the MC.... up until now my cycles vary wildly between 27 days and 44 days!

tunnocksteacake · 30/10/2010 19:18

Jamface · 30/10/2010 19:27

Hi tigger, where do you live? I have a recommendation of a private gynaecologist in London (she works at the Portland Hospital). I haven't met her yet, am waiting until Christmas, and if I'm not preg by then I'll go down that avenue too. Hope you are OK. I think that cycles being different (and a bit all over the place) after a mc is perfectly normal but it might reassure you to talk to a professional about it all.

Hope you're Ok too digi. I'm sure the EPU will be able to give you lots of help and support.

I'm having a bit of a slump today. It's the 2WW with a quite certain feeling that I'm not preg. With the last 3 pregnancies (2 lost) I got pregnant on the first or second month of trying, and I guess thought 'well at least I don't have a problem with getting pregnant' but post mcs and with increased age, that as well as many other things has changed Sad

I had another 3rd birthday party this afternoon so was surrounded by lots of heavily pregnant women and newborns. I'm not feeling particularly proud of myself either because the Mum of the birthday boy is always very keen to get our ds together and often gets in contact to meet up. Her second is due in 2 weeks. I often make excuses to not see her telling myself we haven't got anything in common, but actually, being honest with myself today found myself thinking 'if I was pregnant I'd be really happy to hang out with her'. Maybe it's understandable but it's also a bit mean of me.

Anyway, happy thought for the day, X-Factor is only half an hour away! x

tigger15 · 30/10/2010 19:55

Thanks for the comments but if you look at my stats I'm not on the 1st or 2nd cycle after a miscarriage. I'm on the 20th and it's still doing that and I have been unable to get pregnant for 20 cycles. So I don't think it can really be called a WTF cycle by this point. It has ranged from cd24 to 31 ever since the mc although it seems to have confined itself to 24-29 for the last 6 months which it definitely didn't do before.

Jamface I have a recommendation for someone in St Mary's but I just can't work out how you make an appointment. Do you just call up and try and get one?I've never done the private thing before.

Good luck with the children's parties. It doesn't get any better when you're the only family in the entire class with only one child.

Jamface · 30/10/2010 21:06

Hi tigger, nor have I but yes, just call and I guess try to talk to them or a secretary to make an appt. Have no idea how much it costs either. Would you let me know if you do make an appt? I'm sorry you're down and understand how frustrated you must feel. I hope the appt will help x

mousebacon · 30/10/2010 22:26

Oh digi am so sorry love, I'm thinking of you lots xxxxxxx

MummyAbroad · 30/10/2010 22:43

Hi tigger, I am looking into private consulatants in London who specialise in Ashermans Syndrome. They charge around £180 for a consultation, I have no idea if this price is similar for other fertility issues/specialists. I think what makes everything really expensive is blood tests, I have had 3 sets done over here in costa rica, each set cost about £130 - but I imagine this would be more expensive in the UK - try and get what you can done on the NHS and get copies.

Some doctors will discuss your case a bit via phone or email before a consulation, others will give you no info whatsoever until you have made an appointment and paid some cash. If you have the name of someone its always worth a call and an email to see if you can get a bit of info for free and see if you even like them. A good way of doing this is under the pretence of asking them what their experience is with women with your circumstances. How many women with your cirs have they treated in the last year? How many of these have gone on to have live babies? what areas do they specialise in etc?

20 cycles is a long time, that must be very frustrating! For what its worth I have heard loads of women on MN talk about how their periods change lots after a mc or childbirth. I dont think that alone necessarily indicates a problem, unless your periods are much lighter than before which could indicate AS (apologies I have AS blinkers on at the moment and am seeing it everywhere!)

I do hope you get some answers soon xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 31/10/2010 00:28

Just a quickie-digi really hope it's not what you think it is, how are you doing now? ((hugs))

tigger I just looked one up and gave them a call, didn't need a referral or anything.

nix you're not setting an alarm to take temp are you??? I'll check the book but I don't think you need to, just take it as soon as you wake up whenever that is and there is a formulaic way to adjust it for it being later or earlier in the day I think.

Back tomorrow for proper catch up xx
