The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Tanmu82 - BFP

Wow, what a lot to catch up on, and a new shiny thread too.

Brassica so sorry to hear about your news, and that even now your GP is being so crap. I really hope you get some better treatment soon. (sends Brassica a sneaky un-MN-y hug and a large glass of a drink of her choice)

I've re-read the thread rules. I can testify that FF is a bad thing. That crappy traffic light at the bottom of your page showing a red light, and gloating "ovulation not detected" followed by your fertility forecast sneering "probably not fertile" at you is enough to send anyone insane. What happened to my JS ethic? It's taken just 4 cycles of TTC to turn me into an obsessive nutcase. Help!

frakkinstein · 15/10/2010 18:57

Helloooo you lot!

I'm 'out' to MN at large so have come back to see how the lovely JSers are progressing. Can't be arsed to read the thread (ought to resurrect the graduates one really...) as you ladies can chat for bloody Britain!

Love the title btw - I secretly miss peeing in ramekins - and the updates to the rules. Pleeeease tell me which one of you is the midwife...

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 19:36

Congratulations on 'coming out' Frak, good to see you back. No one's been breaking any rules since you left us Grin honest. BTW you'r preggers, you're not supposed to want to shag until the 2nd trimester Wink

I was busy cutting up my chicken to freeze some and put the rest on pizza and the damn thing had black stuff in the membrane inside. Cue mad dash to the bathroom to be near loo should the worst happen. Yuck Yuck Yuck.

Hedgeblunder · 15/10/2010 20:09

Eskarina-I stay well away from FF! it's not a friend at all, more of a smugtastic office bitch who only eats ryvita!

The most I'm doing apart from JS-ing if course is drinking grapefruit juice, but only in cocktails and whilst riding bareback so stay within accordance of JS guidelines of course!

Frakk-hullo! Nice to meet a graduate! How are you getting on?

Nomorechocbiscuits- euuuuuch! Hope the rest of your dinner was ok. I'm eating a healthy diet of chocchip brioche dunked in tea Blush

takethatlady · 15/10/2010 21:16

Hello ladies. Sad brassica - that doctor sounds rubbish. Why are doctors so rubbish? Do you have to wait all weekend now?

The frak is back! Ye-hey! How's the pregnancy going (apart from being almost shagless)?

I did a digi tonight. Pregnant 1-2 weeks :) Not getting too excited this time as last time it didn't stick. Also I didn't conceive it until almost 7 weeks into my cycle, which makes it more likely it'll go wrong. Plus I have lower backache, which I had last time before the early mc. So I'm hanging around on here. Smile Still, a BFP is a BFP! And either it explains the hungry boobs or the state of mind that produced them Hmm

Grin at josie he he.

Hey ladies, been out for dinner, but didn't drink as much as I intended. Went for Indian and there was a beautiful family with three kids. Two of them running around laughing, nearly burst into to tears. My hormones are a mess this month! :( There is a woman at work who is at the same stage I would have been and I'm finding it really hard. Can someone slap me with the kipper?

Brassica your docs make me really angry, I have to say I am a big fan of the NHS and the hospital that dealt with me were amazing, but my gp is crap. I now go to a private gp at 50 pound a meeting, Very expensive, but I have his mobile number and can get direct advice for free! Btw, I'm sure I don't need to say this, but if there is pant snot there should be just shagging! Wouldn't use OPKs though as they get messed up by the pg hormome.

KC I have only been trying for 8 months and had a resolved ectopic a couple of months ago. This month just really got on top of me.

Anyway, cd1 and it looks like I have a couple of new cycle buddies :) Which if Josie is lucky in the morning I might need. Fingers crossed!

Love the halloween name!

baby2b · 15/10/2010 21:33

Crossed posted with ttl, hope it is a sticky bean Grin

NervousNelly · 15/10/2010 21:41

Yeah Ttl. A BFP is a BFP. Have some sticky thoughts :)

Am excited to see a grad , although I hope there IS a grads thread on the go Hmm. I'd miss this level of inane chat highbrow educational enlightenment.

Am in the bath as promised! Hope I don't drop iPhone in.... Cat just singed his tailbon a candle Blush. decided to read Bad Mothers Handbook as it sorts of links to JS. Only got to page 4 and remembered I'd already read it. Doh. So came back to chat to you :)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 21:41

Saved the pizza, put smoked salmon on it. Yum. Managed to just keep it down while taking photos of my dodgey chook (which I'll use to try and get a refund, not dragging dodgey chook around town tomorrow). Am I the only one who hasn't pee'd on a digi?

A tentative congrats to you TTL If this one doesn't stick I'll send you my licorice tea. Don't know that it really helped, but it made me feel better to be doing something. Still trying to work out how you get hungry boobs though Grin

Everyone else must be at the pub. Looking forward to reading some drunken posts in the morning.

NervousNelly · 15/10/2010 21:43

Tailbon???? No idea. iPhones eh!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 21:48

don't worry there are few familiar faces on the graduates thread. You'll be there before you know it.
Is a tailbon like a sweet tied to the cat's tail?

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 21:51

Evening everyone

BFN so far SadSad but despite my best fanjo-furkling Blush still no sign of ERTD so waiting for the morning. Only got tescos cheapies as didn't have enough money for a digi. I have to admit it's weird for ERTD no to have arrived by now and for there to be no cramps Confused

Anyway, will allow myself to be distracted with thoughts of new hair and long ride out with a friend tomorrow in the hope that it keeps me sane untileither I get ERTD or a BFP [frazzled emoticon]

Congrats TTL by the way, sending lots of stickies!

NervousNelly · 15/10/2010 21:56

There are A few, or there are few??? .

(that's reverse psychology doncha know?! Like buying a years supply of tampax Wink)

Haha maybe his singed tail has caramelised into a bonbon:) (for legal reasons I am joking, he's fine!)

NervousNelly · 15/10/2010 22:01

josie it ain't over till the red fecker sings, or something! enjoy the hack and the new hair! Going to try to get up early and hack before OH comes home. luckily my two are still out so I can still have weekend lie-ins (for about 2 more weeks :( )

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 22:01

I am imagining a litle cat with a pretty bon bon tied to his tailwith ribbons Grin

Not to put a downer on things, but my friend's cat was knocked over badly this morning and we've been following his progress all day but sadly he has passed away Sad She's absolutely heartbroken bless her.

I am now going to stuff my face with pringles and angel cake seeing as my tea (yes you guessed it, mushroom pizza yet again, about the 5th time this week Shock) didn't fill me. I'm actually sick of mushroom pizza finally! Blush

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 22:05

Nervous mine normally lives out till november but because last winter was so bad the grass never really recovered and now with the rain it's being churned up and she's hungry so she's coming in for 3 nights this week, 5 the week after then it's 6 months of early mornings Confused that's my queasy face Grin I chose weekends for her to start coming in though as I can't cope with the 6am starts before work just yet Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 22:06

there are a few. Opps, to busy watching TV while typing.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 22:12

Ah Josie that's horrible for your friend. I saw a cat get run over earlier this year. My poor DH had to finish it off as it was so badly hurt Sad

Nervous, is you're cat's name Creme Brulee? Grin

So many spelling mistakes in this (Nercous?!) time for bed me thinks (wanders off to play solitare instead).

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 22:14

Ha ha NoMore, I'm playing freecell! Great minds think alike! My friend saw her cat get knocked over too, said he had awful head injuries and there was blood everywhere (sorry if TMI!)

At least he's at peace and not suffering now.

Hedgeblunder · 15/10/2010 23:44

Takethatlady - wow that's fantastic news! I really really hope it sticks for you, I read somewhere that brazil nuts have some enzyme or something in them that helps stickyness, might be worth a go at least?

Hope you get a result soon josie

Do we all have cats then? I have one yay! He didn't come with any bonbons attached though, humph.
Mines currently flat out on his back dreaming, nice life hey?

Hope everyones having a good night x

frakkinstein · 16/10/2010 06:02

Oh wow TTL. Fingers crossed for you :)

Your poor, poor cat, nervous! Not much you can do for a cat really - can't tell it to sit with its tail in cold water Grin

:( for your friend, josie.

I am supposedly second trimester NMCB but still no sign of any wanting to! Am feeling a bit better - thoroughly reassured after the rocky start as apparently everything is fine and I'm back to low risk. Baby was sleeping on both scans though :( everyone else says it was jumping and bouncing around for them... Absolutely knackered, no nausea - never really had any - but incredibly hormonal.

Reverse psychology works! Book a 6 week holiday and test the day before you go. Spend those weeks surrounded by family and friends unable to tell anyone. It's foolproof I tell you... That and having just landed a new job work like a charm so tell yourself 'this is a really inconvenient month to get pregnant' and it'll happen.

JosieSmith1 · 16/10/2010 07:44

Morning everyone.

Still BFN this mornin 4 me. No signs of ERTD but not gettin hopes up jst in case. Officially my first 29 day cycle since comin off the pill, the other 4 were 28 like clockwork, hope I'm not gonna hav funny length cycles now?! Gettin hair cut then ridin 2 day so hopin 2 b thoroughly distracted

takethatlady · 16/10/2010 08:29

Oh josie how annoying. Really sad for your friend's cat :( I definitely recommend rule-breaking and temping if your periods do start to go a little out of whack. It really helps (although it hasn't worked for me this month as I think I'm way past 11dpo, which is what I think I should be. My boobs have been hurting worse and worse each day for 4 days - last time on the 3rd day (day the red fecker was due) they started to get less bad.) Anyway, in general they make it much easier to predict when you're due.

Anyway, it ain't over til it's over.

Brazil nuts and licorice tea - I'm off to get them right now! Yesterday I bought pizza (inspired by you lot), preg tests, and a Turkish delight. The girl at the till kept shooting me meaningful looks and two kids from DH's school spotted us. Today I'll go back in and confuse the crap out of them with nuts and icky tea :) Any other sticky substances people?

NervousNelly · 16/10/2010 08:56

Treacle's quite sticky Wink. Sorry TTL that's not v helpful is it?

Pleased to report the cat is fine. Slept the night fast asleep beside me (awww I love my cat) and no bonbons, creme brûlée or ribbons to be seen :)

Josie sorry no BFP yet. I have read on her of plenty people who don't get a bfp until a week late or more. So still holding out hope!

JosieSmith1 · 16/10/2010 09:08

Thanks, I'm still holdin onto a shred of hope too. Never bn a day over 28 until now so u just never no!

Enjoy ur sticky foods and nuts TTL! I have a confession 2 make though, I started takin my temps 3 days ago Blush although they're no help at this stage but hav bn droppin Confused which I don't think is a good pg sign but not sure.

Off 2 get my hair cut now but as I can access MN on my mobile now (yippee!) I can let u all no wot I think of it, and if re-fecker arrives
