100years it doesn't sound like you're having much fun at the moment! Good job you've got your holiday to look forward to.

Quod it's funny how you can blow hot and cold from super broody to pure terror, isn't it!

bebebones · 31/10/2010 12:40

100 - So sorry you're feeling rough :( But not long now!! Wink

AC - We had a Halloween party, complete with dressed up littlies (well 3 of them!) DD was a bat and v cute she was too! Wink Positive news that your DH thought the little girl was cute!

I blow hot & cold with the broodiness (mostly hot) but I freak out sometimes at the thought of coping with 2, especially if #2 is as full on as DD!

Quodlibet · 31/10/2010 12:45

Ha yes AC - and actually we have just spent 6 hours last night and this morning discussing how bloody intolerable it is for me that our family-starting is linked to his career thing, which is forever moving its nebulous date and seems to always be first priority!!! Aghghgh I could actually scream it's so frustrating!

Luckily he has also said some very nice things and I do know it is important for him, and he's just insisting on waiting so that he can definitely be at home and look after us in the early days, so I'm can't really be angry with him.

100 that sounds all-in-all quite crap. Can you go out for a nice lunch by a pub fire somewhere? Roll on holidays for you.

nannyl · 31/10/2010 16:29

Hello all
Im back again and our visitors have gone.
Ready to go back to school tomorrow after a fun filled 2 weeks off.

Welcome to thecake and Gettovaryit (the cake i am also hoping for a later Sept baby Smile)

100years how exciting, now you are really trying Grin

Jbells how exciting bout your scan, hope the next one is clearer

squirrel I too love seeing all the charts about my cycles, find them fascinating and my friend (a maths teacher) suggested my baby will be born with a histogram on its head!!!!!!!! I sleep well and can always get back to sleep so do my temp at 7am every day. I think its worth it, though not sure how practicle it will be when TTC#2 and sleep is more preciouse and potentially interupted!

About to put out our pumpkin now and listening to Xmas music having narrowed down this years Xmas card design!

Also VERY excitied (I think) but am enjoying my last bottle of wine today, (lovely expensive birthday present wine YUMMMM) as will be alcohol and caffine free from November aka tomorrow Confused
Think i'll have 1 last cup of lady grey tea now though aswell!

A bit scarey that this could be my last alchohol for 6 years Shock if my baby / breast feeding plans for my current plan actually happen as i plan them now!!!
(plan to be pregnant / TTC or breastfeeding for at least the next 6 Xmas's!!!!)

AmandaCooper · 31/10/2010 20:51

Nannyl that's very good. I bet I'll be indulging myself with a little tipple once my baby's a few months old.

Can't believe it's your month tomorrow, I'm excited for you!!!

nannyl · 31/10/2010 20:59

thanks AC Smile

though not quite my month 2mo (yet)... will be TTC from Dec, as really dont want an Aug baby, but want my body as healthy as possible and free of drugs (ie alcohol / caffeine) by December!

TheCake · 31/10/2010 21:26

Hello again and thanks for all of the lovely welcome messages.

AC- I got married in July and we both ageed to ttc fairly soon after the wedding. I had not realised people had pictures on their profile- will have to do that, I'm a bit rubbish at keeping up to date with the Internet - hence my late reply!

Nannyl- I am a teacher too so that is why I thought late sept so we are holding off ttc until jan. Also it will give me an idea of what my cycle is like- I'm not looking forward to my first proper period in years!

I can't remember who said they were in Liverpool for a wedding (memory like a sieve) but I'm glad you enjoyed it- in live in Liverpool and love it but from Northumberland

I think I'll try and sort a picture out and eat some of the chocolate mountain I have in our house as a result of only having 2 trick or treaters!

bebejones · 01/11/2010 08:45

Nannyl - that's incredibly organised! Wink I don't drink much at all but 6 years without anything would be hard going!

TheCake - we had no trick or treaters at all (except DHs little sisters but they don't really count), now I have a mountain of sweets tempting me! :(

Can't believe it is November! 1 week til my Birthday! It's come around so quickly!

Feeling a bit low, I think I'm losing the feeling in my legs which means I'll probably have to have steroids again :( Going to see how the day pans out & probably ring docs 2moro :( Keep fingers crossed it's coz I'm tired or slept awkwardly!

OP posts:
bebejones · 01/11/2010 08:47

Oh also, I finished my Glucosomine last night so won't be taking that anymore as prep for TTC. When the folic acid runs out I'll switch to prenatal vits. Quite excited! Wink

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 01/11/2010 09:03

nannyl I am impressed at your dedication, giving up both alcohol and caffeine for so lon! Don't think I could manage that.

thecake I got married in July too! We would have ttc straight away, but had to wait till after honeymoon and antimalarials, so we started at the beginning of oct.

bebe sorry about your leg, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Are the steroids what you gave up?

No trick-or-treaters here either, but a good job as we didn't have any sweets! We don't really live in a family area so not many kids around.

bebejones · 01/11/2010 09:32

Our house is set up & back from the road so if you don't know how to get up to it it can be confusing! I think it puts people off, coz there were definitely trick or treaters out there! :o

Squirrel - No I gave up my 'Disease Modifying Drugs' (they are supposed to reduce the risk of relapse Hmm but not by enough to be worth it IMO, but were thought necessary Hmm Hmm). The steroids are what they give during relapses to reduce the inflammation on the nerves. It's a bit complicated to explain really Confused basically MS is a immune system disorder & the body attacks the nerve coating which in turn makes the nerves damaged & therefore disrupts the signals. That's it in a nutshell! Sorry that was a bit long winded! Blush I don't fully understand it myself!

OP posts:
bebejones · 01/11/2010 09:35

Think I have Monday Blues as well today, plus the threat of looming AF (which is giving me the munchies).

Shall bake a large chocolate cake, that is fat free, calorie free & has a hefty dusting of folic acid!! Wink Anyone up for a slice?! :o

OP posts:
100years · 01/11/2010 10:27

AC thanks, yep am def looking forward to the holiday :) Only a few days, need to do packing and I'm not here very much at all in the next few days.

bebe nope not long at all :) And I'll have a slice of cake, it might be the only chocolate I can have as it normally gives me migraines.

Quod sadly I was at work yesterday, so no niceness for me at all!

nanny yeah Shock I've stopped drinking now, not that I drank much at all, I think I've had about 20 units this year altogether, but I really fancied a pint the other night but obviously this was pre AF so I stopped myself. I think I will be fine with the not drinking at all thing. I don't take caffeine anyway, so I'm not exactly feeling like I'm giving stuff up, not much alcohol and no caffeine and I'm still a whole lot of fun :o

Right so update on my stuff from yesterday:
The cramps were much better yesterday and only a little bit here today, :o
We still have no hot water, so I will be attempting a cold shower in a little while as I can't stand being skanky.
The sink can be sealed and will hopefully be OK, landlady seemed to be OK about it.
The front door is still broken, the people have rung me this morning and said they will get it fixed today as no one was available yesterday.
My sinuses are a bit better today
And it's still only a few days till I go away. :o
I was proper cranky pants last night when I got home, managed to try and argue with everything my OH was saying and I showed my displeasure at the shower situation by grumping about how smelly I felt - which I am not apparently!!! He was fine with me and was like well I'm all chilled there isn't anything you can say or do to stop that and I'm quite OK with you being hormonal so carry on if you like. But he said it in a really sweet way and I stopped being so grumpy with him.

I'm working tonight and tomorrow night and then got appointments on Wednesday so not much time at home to pack for the holibobs, but also not much time to wait either. :o

jbells · 01/11/2010 11:22

JustShaggingForNow · 01/11/2010 11:43

nannyl Shock at no booze for 6 years and also at only 20 units in 2010........ I am a little ashamed to say that I think I may have drunk more than that on my work do on Thursday..... Oops!!!

It sounds like everybody has had busy weekends. Sorry that I am so crap on keeping up to date with everybody's progress, I am sturggling with a little {envy} of all those so close to TTC at the moment and so not on here as often as normal. I am sure that once my career issues are resolved I will fee a bit more inclined to come on here and hear all the exciting news!!

bebe So sorry to hear that you think you may be relapsing. Is there any way that this may persuade your DH to try now rather than wait? (I seem to remember you saying that pregnancy decreases your risk of things being bad)

jbells Sorry to hear that your DP is being a pain in the arse on the housework front. Well done you for putting your foot down and taking a rest!

100 yay for Holibobs! I am off on Friday for a long weekend in Devon with DH, my parents and DSis. Should be really nice as we've not all got together for a long time!

I had my 2nd interview this morning..... FINALLY!! Have no idea how it went to be honest. We got on very well but it was hard to tell if I was what they were expecting or looking for...... I hope to hear something today so will have to wait and see what happens. We're off to a gig tonight and so if I get a "YES" then we'll be celebrating and I'll be handing in my notice tomorrow (Hurrah!!!)

bebejones · 01/11/2010 12:15

Jbells - :( that your OH isn't helping out, I sympathise completely DH is useless at housework. HE invited people over for Halloween party & I ended up being the one who tidied/cleaned/set everything up...and cleaned up afterwards! Angry

JS - Have got everything crossed for you, glad you got on well, that has to be a good sign?! Very Envy of weekends away/holidays!

Being PG will lower risk of relapse as being PG surpresses your immune system (which is why you get everything going when your PG!) Who knows, might help to convince DH, but more likely he'll just get stroppy & say I need to start meds again! Hmm

We are (hopefully) going to Weston on my birthday. I want chips on the sea front & fun and games on the new pier! :o I remember waiting for DD to arrive and watching the pier burn on the news eating my cereal with the bowl balanced on my belly! :)

JustShaggingForNow · 01/11/2010 12:24

Thanks bebe I will also keep my fingers crossed for you on the TTC front! I had a call from the recruiter asking for my feedback but with no info for me...... Ummmmmm - CALL ME WHEN YOU HAVE AN ANSWER AND NOT BEFORE!!! Let's hope that they come back to me soon as these nerves are making me feel soooooooo sick!!!

WYorksLass · 01/11/2010 12:41

It's taken me so long to catch up that i'm afraid i can't remember who said what, sorry!
Jbells i'm really glad your scan went well, shame about the picture though.
Welcome to thecake as well.

Well, this is our month :) 26 days until we get married and start TTC. I am ridiculously excited, i don't think i'll be able to sleep for a while!

This weekend was my Hen do organised by my sister. It was fantastic. We started off by going to Go Ape which i loved even though i was terrified. We then went out for the night and had a few cocktails and did lots of dancing to cheesy music. The next morning we were picked up by Limo and driven to a health Spa where i had a facial and massage as well as sauna, steam room etc. I can honestly say i have never drunk champagne at 10.30 am until now :) I am very achey and tired now though.

I have vastly reduced my alcohol consumption lately, partly for TTC and partly because i can't be doing with hangovers any more.

squirrel007 · 01/11/2010 12:41

Am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you js, must be nervewracking having to wait so long.

Quodlibet · 01/11/2010 14:07

JS fingers crossed over here for you too.
What gig are you going to tonight btw? Wonder if it's the same one I'm going to!

WYorks your hen do sounds great!

JustShaggingForNow · 01/11/2010 15:09

Still nothing over here.......
it has now been 3 hours since they asked for my feedback and I have heard nothing back from them. Am thinking that this is going to be yet another rejection which is a horrible thought as I have been clinging to the hope that this one is going to go well :(

Quod - it's a really small gig in Islington. A friend is playing and she is amazing (check her out on iTunes "Marie Naffah" as she is really talented) Possibly not the smae one you are going to!!!

AmandaCooper · 01/11/2010 18:34

Oh JS no! I skimmed through thinking you would definitely know by now. It's awful leaving you waiting like this. Let us know as soon as you have news. My fingers are firmly crossed for you.

I had a meeting this lunchtime with another recruitment shark consultant, who had quite an interesting vacancy he's going to put me forward for. Not sure about it yet but I always think you can try for nothing. Good family friendly policies apparently!

Imagine if you and Quod are going to the same gig lol!

WYorkslass I second that about your hen do, it sounds amazing. Spa breaks are so nice. In fact shall we hook up a spa carriage so that we can all chill out in the sauna?! Where is GoApe?

AmandaCooper · 01/11/2010 18:38

Oh by the way has anyone been to a Muslim wedding? DH and I have been invited to one next week. DH is a friend of the groom. I don't know what to wear! I've been told (by the groom) to wear "whatever you'd normally wear to a wedding" but I'm not too convinced.

bebejones · 01/11/2010 19:33

I've never been to one AC but I would have thought you'd have to cover your head? HmmMy only point of reference was the wedding in Eastenders! Blush Maybe start a thread on MN? Someone is bound to know!

JS - sending positive vibes!

Spa carriage hooked up, have George giving me a neck rub & Jake is half naked & throwing water on the sauna 'coals'! :o
