Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

To all the fabulously well-informed ladies..

A quick question (which is probably very stupid)

I'm due to start injections (fun) in around three weeks but have got a holiday booked about two weeks later - do you think I would be able to still go on holiday or will the hopsital need me around?

Thanks!

lateatwork · 12/01/2011 12:59

hi nook nook.... hmmm i would say that may not be possible... i am with argc and have to go in every day for bloods and stuff... but i think it depends on protocol and your clinic. I would suggest to give them a quick call.

lateatwork · 12/01/2011 13:01

oh holly have just seen your message! congrats and am absolutely thrilled for you!!

NookNook · 12/01/2011 13:59

Thanks lateatwork! I'll call the clinic. Funny how they give you so much information but never the bit you need.

I'm in a bit of a daze. After the long wait (3 years) its difficult to believe its actually happening. I've never been so eager to get my period and get started.

rowingboat · 12/01/2011 14:09

Hi all,
just popping in to say and hi.
Congratulations on your twins BOH that is great news! Both great weights too!

My news is AF arrived again on Monday, so no idea what's going on. Don't think I'll be using the flights at the start of Feb then!
This does seem more like normal AF, so hoping my cycle will be back to normal after this.
I'm about to email the clinic to ask if I can do a natural cycle. Or not tell them and just not take the oestrogen (heeheeheeeheeee crazed cackle)

Og BOH congrats!

Awful arvo here Went to the loo at 3pm and two small clots came out with a large wipe of red. Clinic told me to pop a Cyclogest, go home and wait for them to get back to me. They did and told me to go to A&E/EPU. Got to hospital at 5-ish to be told EPU closed at 4.... A&E assessed me but said there was no one to scan me until tomorrow

Brown discharge now and of course totally fretting. Will go to clinic tomorrow morning and then EPU if they recommend. SO scared and upset

shirleycat1 · 12/01/2011 20:42

Hi everyone, I have a nightmare few days with a puking bug and generally feeling pretty crap. Getting close to feeling fully recovered now but all I seem to want to eat is chips and bread. I think it's just because they're bland, but so much for the January weight loss.

Vanilla - how's not exercising treating you? I exercised right the way through my pregnancy and would have struggled if I was told I couldn't. Did you carry on in the gym in your 2ww? I'm undecided what to do next time. I think I did in my first successful cycle and went a couple of times in my last unsuccessful one. I know they don't advocate bed rest, but everything is such a worry.

I think I'm coming to terms more and more now with the unsuccessful attempt and I'm actually feeling a bit more positive about the next go as well. I think a fews weeks of normality and then a week in the sunshine and I'll be ready to go with my head totally in the right place.

Hope you're all Ok...

shirleycat1 · 12/01/2011 20:45

Vanilla, crossed posted then. I am thinking of you and have got everything crossed for you. Don't think the worst - it could be anything. This whole process is so stressful and anxiety producing, but the best thing you can do now is try and relax as much as you can - there's a challenge for you!

Hugs going out to you...

shirleycat1 · 12/01/2011 20:50

Hey Vannilla - I forgot to say - a very similar thing happened to me when I was a few weeks in. I had brown discharge and a bit of blood. Went to docs and he basically said I just had to wait it out, which was a nightmare, but it turned out OK. I'm sure you'll be fine. I really hope so.

Bug hug...

vallinnapod · 13/01/2011 10:03

Ladies, thanks for your support!

Went to fertility clinic rather than EPU as they 'know' me. The mini-Pod is still insitu, sac bigger and Pod itself has doubled in size since Monday. As you can imagine the relief is immense.

Still brown bleeding and likelihood of more as the implantation bleed works it's way out (at 6weeks).

I used to be a normal sane person, then we decided to have a baby....!

Off to make love to my sofa x

lateatwork · 13/01/2011 10:19

bloody hell vallinnapod soooo pleased mini-pod is doing well (and growing...!!)

rowing... more boots... fab!!

BB good to hear from you... May not that far away..

afm just pootling along...

LissySilver · 13/01/2011 12:02

BagofHolly- That is such wonderful news! Congrats to you on the birth of your twins. My sister and I were three weeks early and we weighed in at 6 lb 7 oz and 6 lb 15 oz...

Val- Glad to hear mini-pod is expanding, what a relief! Try to rest and relax...

rowing- I have a few pairs of Keen shoes and they're wonderfully comfortable! But now it's time to STEP AWAY FROM THE BOOTS!! PUT THE CREDIT CARD DOWN!! I hope AF sorts itself out. If you can't go in the beginning of Feb, what's the alternative?

Cerubina- Glad you popped in, and it's great to hear you are doing so well. Keep us posted!

late- I hear you sister...I'm just pootling along as well.

Italian- How's it going?

AFM, back is still a great source of pain, and I've not been sleeping well at all. The past couple of weeks have been miserable! Have gone to the chiropractor and he wants to see me twice a week for the next four weeks to sort me out. Hoping it works! In the meantime, desperate to go to the gym, but pain is preventing me. Argh. Frustrated. Hawaii is ten weeks away...

rowingboat · 13/01/2011 13:00

Hi all,

Val that's great news about the doubling in size.
Obviously that's only good news for babies, not for any of us Shirley put those chips down! Grin I hope you are feeling a bit better, those Winter bugs are awful.

Lissy I hear you about the boots! Shock The Keen boots arrived and they are lovely.
I hope your chiropractor can sort out your back. When is the next appointment?

LAW so how's it all going? Aren't you down-regging, or am I very senile?

BB I'm supposed to be going for embryo adoption or donation or whatever it's called these days. AF just arrived again so hoping things are now back to normal.
By the time the next AF arrives and I go for the FET it will be late Feb, early March.
Are you doing anything special to prepare for the next cycle?

OP posts:
tholeon · 13/01/2011 21:11

hiya,

still trying to work out where everyone is with things but glad your scare turned out ok, vallina. How many weeks are you?

whicn clinics is everyone at? we are at CRGH, in London.

lateatwork · 14/01/2011 10:42

morning all!

i got told by the clinic that i could be doing egg collection as early as Tuesday next week! excited and nervous. the dr seem pleased with number of follicles etc and that is good enough for me. I just want to know one way or the other. feel like i have had my life on hold forever. my tummy looks like someone has stamped on it with studded football boots. nice.

tholeon i am with argc.

rowing (aka 'boot queen'!!) Feb/ March will come around really bloody quickly. i didnt take any supplements etc to prepare for this (except folic acid) and now part of me wishes i had delayed, pumped full of drugs and been fit before i started. I am crazy tired right now...

vallinnapod · 14/01/2011 11:16

Oh, good news LAW!! Glad things are moving swiftly!

Tholeon - also in London and at The Bridge Centre

LissySilver · 14/01/2011 13:01

late- Yay, such good news!

rowing- Chiro twice a week, today included. Back is starting to shift a little, but still painful, and finding it hard to motivate myself to get the gym, although I desperately want to go.

Have a great weekend, ladies!

Italiangreyhound · 14/01/2011 18:08

Late, good news.

we are with Care

Love and hugs to all

shirleycat1 · 14/01/2011 19:44

Late - good news. Don't be nervous about egg collection - they give you some pretty good drugs and you're nicely spaced out.

Vanilla - I am so please things are Ok with you and growing.

Rowing - I reckon we'll be getting going at similar times. It will come fast.

What do people think about vitamins and supplements and stuff. Any recommendations or has anyone seen any evidence for anything?

I am sooooooo glad it's Friday. It's been a long week.

rowingboat · 14/01/2011 23:48

Hi all,

LAW what! I can't believe you are going to be entering the lunacy of the 2WW so fast. It's exciting [excited face].

Lissy I'm glad to hear your back is starting to loosen off. Not long until you can don your lycra bodysuit and get down to the gym. I split my lycra bodysuit a few years back or I would lend you mine. Grin

Shirley I've taken 'em all, but can't really say they work or not. I read that I had to up my protein intake for IVF and did have what seemed to be good quality eggs after eating lots of beans and boiled eggs. They didn't 'take' though so big shrugs.

Italian hi sweetie. Hugs back!

Just ate 1.5 rolo cookies - that's not in the Zita West IVF diet is it? [hopeful face]
Feel a bit sick now. Grin

Thol sorry, I'm off to Czech Republic for my donor FET cycle.

OP posts:
tholeon · 15/01/2011 11:22

hi - Shirley the only thing I did was acupuncture. Certainly made me feel more relaxed and who knows it may have helped - it worked!

tholeon · 15/01/2011 11:23

rowingboat - wow. always extra admiring of people who travel. Hard enough fitting all the logistics in doing it locally. are you trying for your first or a sibling?
