Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 14/12/2010 13:55

I was completely shocked by 18 too. Way more than I had hoped for, let alone been told were large-ish. Can only put it down to acupuncture or just the smaller follicles (PCOs) actually being more mature than they thought.

The best news this morning is that 13 out of 18 eggs have become embryos!!!! I can't tell you how pleased I am that another hurdle is cleared. They will grade them on Thursday morning for possible transfer later that day. They will let them go to blast stage if they don't have any good enough for transfer in Saturday. Fingers, toes and legs crossed!!

LAW everything crossed for you on you 2WW

PS one thing worse than injecting every day? Pessaries up the backdoor twice a day...!!!

rowingboat · 14/12/2010 14:12

Fingers crossed for the embryos Vallin. It would be great if you got a good few blasts.
You could end up with 7 or 8 blasts or even more with some to freeze.

OP posts:
LissySilver · 14/12/2010 20:20

Val--Amen to that! Pessaries up the pooper is no way to live. Keep us posted!

Late--Good luck! Try to stay positive and focus on something else!

Rowing--Got email today saying boots are on their way. They are FAB-U-LOUS! Can't wait to put them on.

AFM--GP wrote order for blood tests so I can start my monitoring cycle at ARGC later this month. The ball is rolling...

Italiangreyhound · 14/12/2010 23:57

Val 18 amazing, well done.

Late good luck for the two week wait.

Had my scan, not pregnant, no tiny embie there! Knew it really but got it confirmed.

Not sure how I feel, just waiting.

Love to all

(Feeling Christmassy but masses still to do!)

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2010 00:18

Oh and I have a 4 centimeter fibroid but no biggie!

rowingboat · 15/12/2010 17:32

hi all,
Italian, still no sign of AF?
I'm in that position myself, but do have some pre-menstrual symptoms so could be on her way.
I've been taking ag. cast. when I remember and drinking disgusting Motherwort tea, which is supposed to help (help you vomit!) to bring on AF.

Lissy woohoo about the boots. Which colour did you get? I ordered Hawk, which is the brown.
I have ordered an 8, I'm a 5.5 - 6, but have wide feet and wide legs, so hoping they fit.
It's a bit of a bum if you have to return boots to the US if they don't fit isn't it! Shock

Navitivity tonight! (DS has 'some lambs for him')

[fbear] Hi all thinking of you.

Yes Rowing no sign of af yet!.

Londonlottie how are you doing?

How are the ladies on the two week wait?
I wish I could join you. Can't decide if the illusion/desire for a baby is still firmly in my grasp or slipping!!

I lost a pound at Rosemary Conley this week. A measly pound but I was just happy to have lost it.
Thinking of you all, especially you hippy and your boobs - ou er missus that came out wrong!

Chins up ladies, and hope whatever you are doing is peaceful and helpful this Christmas time.

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2010 20:01

Keziah any news?

LissySilver · 15/12/2010 21:19

Rowing--Got the black ones, also in a size 8. I hope I won't have to return them, the reviews I've read say they're true to size.

Londonlottie--Shoebuy.com is where I bought mine, cheaper than buying in the UK.

Keziahhopes · 15/12/2010 23:35

Italian - sorry about fibroid. Am awaiting that letter, had one from consultant that said letter not done as "she had things to consider" but the clinic have passed me to have treatment as long as this letter ok, so ... anxious times, but not looking likely to get it before Christmas now. Thanks for asking.

13 eggs, fantastic - hope you get lots to freeze from that Smile Val

i have a confession... i bought the boots too... loved them. couldnt resist. used the US site and worked out that cause they were sub £135 ( £85 using current exchange rate.. including postage...) will only have to pay import VAT which should be max£17.... so thanks rowing and lissy.... oh and i got the Hawk ones...

seems I am using my IVF pot of money already... and nope have zero symptoms... although was dreadfully tired last night and DP thought that was a 'good' sign... although its probably due to me working plus looking after sick DD overnight... (she has had temp since Monday...)...

have hysteroscopy booked in for jan 7th...

italian 4cm fibroid... ouch..!

vallinnapod · 16/12/2010 13:01

LOLing at the thread's group boot purchase!

Just a quickie from the iPhone as in a cab off for more acupuncture (having had my first session today at 7:30!)

So two embryos in, making themselves at home I hope. They were both above average so fingers crossed. I have a cold so have already sneezed and coughed and panicked in case that made them fall out Wink

Even got a piccie! Obviously you can't see anything but the little bit of fluid that the embryos were suspended in, but it looks like a little starburst Smile

Test on 30th

lateatwork · 16/12/2010 17:55

vallinnapod Grin everything crossed for your precious cargo!

Keziahhopes · 16/12/2010 21:47

all vanillapod - that they snuggle. Wow, a picture!!

Lol at group boot purchase too Grin

Italiangreyhound · 16/12/2010 23:47

Hi all

What is going on about the boots! I am excited to get £15 PJs from Avon!

But just wanted to say to Val good luck, glad you have got two on board.

My consultant had said from a fertility point of view my thyroid could be a problem, I need my TSH to be below 2, (mine is over 6) so prior to any treatment I need to go on to a low dose of thyroxine and ensure my TSH is below 2.

With regard to immunology he also said I could go for level 1 and level 2 tests but his view is that I am at low risk of having immune issues and they are likely to be normal. So the implication is not to go for tests. I am finding out how much it costs. Hubby is being very supportive, which is nice.

Sorry not to name check as I am busy wrapping presents.

[fbear] Xmas Wink Love and chocolate boobs to all.

LissySilver · 17/12/2010 17:15

Val--Good luck with your 2 WW!! I'll be wishing you lots of sprinkly and sticky baby dust!

Italian--I would be excited about PJ's too. I love them! My next purchase is going to be a hilarious pair of slippers. Still looking for good ones.

late--Welcome to the boot cult! You too, Lottie!

Kezia--Drink the Kool-Aid...buy some boots!!

Mine arrived today, and I have to say they are FAB-U-LOUS! Slightly big, so I'll just have to wear some thicker socks. I am NOT sending these suckers back to America. Plus, I think the smaller size would be TOO small. And they've arrived just in time!

Started spotting with AF today, five days early! Will have to call clinic and see about some bloods...

Keziahhopes · 17/12/2010 22:01

I love pj's - especially thick warm ones at this time of year!

Italian - all level one blood tests can be done by your gp for you, so only cost would be level 2 - which are much more expensive. Glad you found out about thyroid level - perhaps when the number is below two that will make all the difference - yippee if so!

vallinnapod · 18/12/2010 11:12

PJ fan too! And thermal socks Gin - super sexy!

Lab called this morning and I have 2 good blasts to freeze so we are going ahead with that - they'll probably just stck them on the window sill in this weather. So....little disappointed there were only 2 BUT very happy we know I can get them to blast stage so fingers crossed for my 2 hibernating ones Grin

It's Christmas Day with my Dad today (divorced parents - I STILL love that I get 2 Christmases!! They were clearly far too amicable!) and it's a white Christmas! And I am finally a little less bloated. And I got 7 hours sleep (about the combined total of the past 2 weeks!). Oh happy Christmas!!

Hope you all have a lovely w/e

Keziahhopes · 18/12/2010 15:02

2 blasts is fantastic Val Smile, great extra Christmas present!

rowingboat · 18/12/2010 17:05

Hi all,
just popping in to say congratulations on the two snow babies Val. Not quite getting the two Christmases, but why not! Grin

OP posts:
Italiangreyhound · 20/12/2010 01:30

Hi all

Val good luck, keep snow babies safe.

Rowing what is happening are you off to the land of snow and ice or living in it!

I am feeling very happy; keen to do lots of new weight loss classes (my teacher is starting up classes locally so I am going to get double portions of exercise in January). I managed to eat only one mince pie after church today (and two chocolate chip cookies but who is counting) and Hubby and I are talking in terms of if treatment fails we may go down adoption route AND he did not wince when he talked about it. Still no idea what to do. I'd so much have loved to adopt from China but the time was never right, the money was never there. I hear my friends with three kids moaning (sometimes) about how much work three is and I want to say well I'd do it! But I have no right to moan. I am very happy. I am so lucky. I know it. I love this time of year, our village is covered in snow and the festive decorations looks tasteful and tacky in equal measure. In a week it will be all over but for now I am blissed out!

love to all, sorry not to name check, I am (YET AGAIN) ironing! Xmas Wink

Italiangreyhound · 20/12/2010 01:31

[fbear] Xmas Wink Love and chocolate boobs to all.

lateatwork · 20/12/2010 13:33

morning morning... totally bored at the office.... so have decided to become obsessed about symptom spotting. i am day 22 now and have become rather obsessed about checking by breasts for areas of tenderness... hard to be subtle about it in open plan office... ho hum... and absolutely NO signs... i have probably bruised my breasts from soooo much checking...

am supposed to be starting DR on Wed. Am super scared and wondering if i should delay just one more month.....

oh and my boots havent arrived yet... lissy did you have to pay any duties / taxes on yours?
