Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

Lissy I ate chocolate yule log and I don't even like it that much!

I think that song should be changed to ...'tis the season to be greedy...foolllooclwolcol!!!

Horton How are you?

BB made any decision about the future?

Late were you just deciding to go for it or not to?

Val what's the latest?

Rowing, dear Rowing are you in frozen Cheche (how do you spell that!!!) or frozen UK?

Thinking of you all. Not much to report. In fact nothing to report, Except going for internal scan next week to see why periods have just stopped. Finally posting off my immunology results to the clinic. Almost can't face idea that would need extra treatment, costs, time, etc. Almost wishing I was adopting but I am currently, just, waiting! Roll on March or May. Must get fit!!!

You guys and the fiesty and forty crew keep me going. And God, mustn't forget I am feeling uplifted, not because life is great exactly, but because I feel a real warmth in life at the moment and I feel a peace. It is hard to explain. I just hope you lovely ladies can feel some of that at this time of year too. I know that some of you will be spendind Christmas not wanting to know about it. I know it is hard if this has been a hard time but i just hope some of it, some of the hope of this time of year will filter through. I always think of those soldiers stopping fighting on the front in world war one. Of course if they has been women they would have carried on nattering and not got back to fighting but there you go!

here

Yay for girl-power support.

Love to all, sorry not to name check more, I must do washing up! Such a fun life I lead!

hugs Wink

Hi all,
I'm not in frozen Ceche, I don't know where is, otherwise I would definitely go there. Grin
I have a confession. I have eaten six chocolates today and had a slice of chocolate cake at a friend's house.
Oh dear!
DP bought a huge tin of chocolates and it's so hard not to have one or six for pudding after dinner. I don't have the will power for this.
Have had a bit of laryngitis, but not feeling too bad, just have a bit of a croaky voice, like a frog, and a bit of a tickly cough.
It's snowing and snowing here, the buses even stopped, thank goodness I skived off work with my laryngitis.
It seems forever since we decided to go for donor embryo and I currently feel as if it won't happen and if it does, it won't work. But just ignore me.

Hope the scan reveals something Italian, it is very strange that nothing is happening.

Lissy good, good, good that you are getting things moving along nicely. Very good about Curves, I'm glad you like it. Have you had your blood pressure done or something. My colleague at work has had hers taken, but because she is on beta-blockers her pulse and bp stay the same whatever she does.
She did lose about a stone when she started doing the three half hour sessions a week.
Right that's it, I'm getting on my exercise bike right now!
Must get the Crimby cards done!
Oh and bought the boots Elle MacPherson is wearing ,online yesterday. Just wanted to share.

they are truly scrummy rowing..

no news here.

we are just going for it... today anyway...

Keziahhopes · 06/12/2010 21:27

Those chocolates sound tempting too ...

In fact chocolate right now might be a good move here, as saw the consultant today who refused to write one sentence to the clinic to tick the box they need ticking so we can have the ICSI. So, now know can't get pg naturally, haven't in past 3yrs to back that up, and one person is stopping that treatment. don't want to go into it - we've done everything they asked of us and I can't get anyone else to write this letter, this was our chance. So can't have treatment due to this person's opinion, but this person is not prepared to do anything to help me. This dr has a child, I cannot. Sad

lateatwork · 07/12/2010 11:22

keziah i dont think i understand... and i dont know the details... but i can only imagine how frustrating it must be to be stopped from continuing treatment. I hope they have a very very good reason.....Angry

vallinnapod · 07/12/2010 12:58

Kez that sounds terrible. I second what LAW said.

Daily scans/bloods at the mo, on 200 Puregon too. 6.1mm lining and 3 follicles dominating (with whips, spurs etc Grin) Just not so patiently waiting!

rowingboat · 07/12/2010 13:43

Keziah,
how awful for you. If possible, ask for a second opinion and go to your GP for support if you can.
My GP wrote to the local fertility clinic for me to hassle them and asked for a second opinion. They did get me back in and gave me much more attentive treatment.
Is there a private route you can go down to get your signature?
Have you considered treatment abroad, it is becoming more and more popular and is a lot less costly than the UK. We are going for donor embryo treatment as we have run out of cash. It is possible to have single embryo transfer for 500 euros, plus flights and accommodation.
And have a big box of very expensive chocolates! [passes box with ribbon on]
Vallin three little follies not bad!
Oh dear battery dying....

Keziahhopes · 07/12/2010 19:33

thanks - it was private rowing and I have the required letter from my gp,and clinic said it was just a tick they needed in a box. It is the same HFEA regulations in nhs and private. Abroad a bit difficult as I am a teacher and not yet had even one cycle of treatment so don't knwo what it really involves... but if it is the only option I guess that is where we will have to go. Can't appeal as told that was it. Will have to wait for clinic to write to us after consultant written to them before can do anything... choc's nice,,,

LissySilver · 07/12/2010 21:08

Kezia--I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I can't believe that no one will sign off for you to get IVF! What reason does this consultant give for not helping you out? Have you tried talking to your PCT? Ladies, I think we should grab our pitchforks and torches and go after that jackass! Something MUST be done!

AFM, consultation at ARGC tomorrow...

rowingboat · 07/12/2010 22:58

Keziah what a horrible situation, but not a write off yet. Have you taken any advice: Citizen's advice or similar?
I'm sure there is something you can do to get round this doctor. I hope! I'm crossing my fingers for your treatment to progress.

OP posts:
Italiangreyhound · 07/12/2010 23:59

Keziah I can't understand how one person can have the right to decide this. Can you not switch GP?

So sorry it has all gone so bad and I do hope you will find your way through this muddle.

Love all all ... and ...Rowing how did you get that picture of me in Aspen?

rowingboat · 08/12/2010 21:37

Hi all,

Italian, it must be so hard to be a fashion icon, like wot you are! Grin

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 10/12/2010 13:45

Hello ladies!

Good growing here. Possibly taking the trigger shot tomorrow eve but will depend on todays bloods and tomorrow's bloods/scan. Tres, TRES exciting here in Pod-land! DH is ready to do his duty Wink I 'sympathised' (as much as someone who has had 18 bloods tests in 3 weeks and has lost count of the number of dildo cams can) and said I realised it wasn't the easiest thing in the world for him to have to do underpressure to which he responded 'Nah, just give me a mag and I am fine'...so he has a mental age of 12, the sex drive of a 16 year old and the hair colour of a 50 yr old Wink

Next week is a real bitch at work and busy socially so it make sense that egg collection should be then. I. Am. Not. Complaining! Grin

vallinnapod · 10/12/2010 15:46

Ohhh, egg collection on Monday....!! Eeekk!

Totally crapping myself So excited!

Italiangreyhound · 11/12/2010 00:08

vallinnapod good luck for Monday. Don't let too many things get in the way! If you are busy socially I would certainly consider cutting down after embryo transfer. All the best.

Xmas Wink
LissySilver · 11/12/2010 10:47

Val--YAY!! Go you! Good luck, have a relaxing weekend, and let us know how everything goes on Monday.

Rowing--I'm totally considering getting those boots after a surprise tax refund showed up in the post on Thurday.

AFM--Right now in limbo. Waiting for paperwork from ARGC, waiting to get ahold of the GP so he can write up some blood tests, and waiting for AF.

vallinnapod · 11/12/2010 15:23

Thanks ladies!

What are the instructions post ET? I am meant to be going to the horse show at London Olympia (to sit and watch you understand Wink on Friday...wondering if that is still going to be possible? The majority of my social engagements involve sitting and watching something or sitting and eating something - both of which I would do at home. I see it as a good cab excuse!! Obviously I will completely play it by ear. I have a feeling all I will want to do is lie on my back with my legs in the air (crossed, of course!)

Val just take it easy, relax and all the best.

LissySilver · 12/12/2010 12:27

Val--I agree with Italian....rest, relax, and try to maintain a stress-free existence. (Easier said than done)

Rowing--I got the boots! I found a site in the US that ships internationally, so instead of paying £140, I paid £105. They're on their way!

rowingboat · 12/12/2010 22:40

Hi all,
Vallin how exciting. And Olympia (hums the Horse of the Year Show music). Just enjoy yourself, that's the best way to keep your pecker up. Grin I don't recommend lying with your feet in the air for 2 weeks, it's not that easy to type and your feet will turn blue.

Lissy woohoo, we are the boot girls! What size are you getting and which colour?
Mine are still on their way, I have had an email saying they are in San Francisco (lucky boots).

Still no sign of AF here. Noooo idea of when/where/how my cycle is??!?

Keziahhopes · 13/12/2010 20:34

18 eggs, fantastic!

rowingboat · 13/12/2010 22:54

Vallin, my eyes just popped out of my head! What! I really wasn't expecting 18 after your sad face. Grin
You have done really well. Did you rally at the last minute?
Take it easy and keep your tummy warm. Hope you feeling OK.

OP posts:
lateatwork · 14/12/2010 08:41
