Diege · 08/10/2010 22:43

Right, kitchen closed! You'll have to wait till next Friday's gourmet night at the snug bistro Hippy! Grin Night all x

gumblossom · 09/10/2010 00:45

It's not fair - you all ate while I was in bed sleeping! I'll just have to have a lovely breakfast. If I followed that 21 day fertility challenge, I'd be drinking 4 cups of water for breakfast! I just can't do that much water first thing. I might manage a glass, but I just have to have my muesli, toast and tea, so the water will have to wait.

I've had a nice big temp jump this morning. But always do at this time, so am not thinking it is anything special, just glad I'm still ovulating.

I worked out that if I have a 5% chance of conceiving at my age, then I have to ttc for 20 months to have a hope! Bloody hell...Hopefully it'll be a bit quicker than that.

I watched a show called the seven ages of pregnancy. It is a british show, so you may have seen it. It wasn't terribly positive about having a baby after 40.And of course the 40 year old who had her first baby had complications. Why didn't they have one with a complication free pregnancy? A bit annoying. But seeing the births just made me cry. It's a bit weird not knowing if I'll get another go at it...Sad

Rowing, my wee boy has lately turned into a bloody handful! He's no prodigy, but has recently flourished with his vocabulary. We all love it - it is very cute. However, we spend an awful lot of time being frustrated by his desire for all things technology in our house. And he just won't take no for an answer. It means loads of tears and whinging!(both of us)

I'm glad the weather is magic at the moment so we can spend time outside and at the beach. I just keep hoping I'll wear him out. Putting him down for a sleep has also become really difficult.

I love him to bits, but I'd really like a well-behaved little girl this time! You know I'll be happy with a boy again, and he'd be great company for Charlie, but I'd like an easier time of it!Especially as I'll be really old by the time the next one is two!

Well Deige, it looks like it is nearly time for your shag-fest. I hope you are getting ready - stretching, practicing yoga poses etc...Wink

Diege · 09/10/2010 09:34

Not seen that programme, though there was a similar one on here a few weeks ago that looked at pregnancy at different ages. The 40 plus woman (who wasn't a 'good' 40 iyswim) also had a complicated pregnancy and delivery Hmm. So were the troops in place then Gum? Grin.
I broached the having another baby conversation this morning with dh after he said, out of the blue, 'It would be cheaper to get a kitten you know' Shock Angry Grin Confused. Turns out he's worried about money, in relation to the recent child benefit stuff that's going on (in UK Gum!)but have managed to assure him that in the great scheme of things bringing another life into the wrold is in a different class to worrying about money. We both have very good wages (hence the worry as we're borderline losing the benefit - perhaps rightly but then do do rely on it to help with the £1, 500 childcare a month Shock) Anyway, he says he's happy to carry on trying, but will be happy too if things don't happen (not quite as happy I hope Hmm) so all good for now anyway Smile. Men eh!

galwaygal · 09/10/2010 09:37

Sorry to have missed the feast last night, I think you would prefer me to stay away right now though as I have man-flu (ok just a horrible headcold, that still means I have to get on with everything that needs doing!). But as I don't want to pass on the germs here into the snug, I will go to bed and come back in a day or so when I am feeling better.

Diege · 09/10/2010 10:08

Oh no Galwaygirl Sad. I'll make you up a warming batch of chicken soup Smile. Hope you get throguh it ok and see you back very soon x

randomimposter · 09/10/2010 21:21

Catch you tomorrow xx

randomimposter · 09/10/2010 21:22
Diege · 09/10/2010 21:38

x-factor!!!!!!!!!!!

randomimposter · 09/10/2010 21:47
Diege · 09/10/2010 21:54

A smack indeed Jollster. In the word of dd1, ewwwwwww!!!!! And what was that breast-rubbing by the dancers at the end?? Shock Confused Mary all the way, plus I'm cross that I actually liked that spoilt brat of a drama queen (Katy?). Have to say Simon is looking mighty fine tonight - you'll welcome to Mr Earthy Wagner Jollster

randomimposter · 09/10/2010 22:02

he is one SCARY man....

it has been a VERY high standard I think (Wagner excluded obviously!)... couple of the groups a bit shaky but not as weak as previous years.... GOD I LOVE X FACTOR..... ...

Diege · 09/10/2010 22:13

Me too, I look forward to it all week Blush. I have a feeling Mr. Wagner will be kept in, Jedward style, for several weeks Hmm.
Right, bed for me! See you all tomorrow snugsters!

rowingboat · 09/10/2010 23:23

Hi all,

Jolls Grin He's your boyfriend, you love him! Grin

Deige, eh!? What breast rubbing? I haven't seen it yet, recorded it. I am hoping your comment about Katie means what I think it means...[huge smug grin]
Do you think Cheryl didn't pick Gamu because she couldn't patronise her and mother her?
Nice trowel-job on Cheryl's make-up tonight. Haven't seen blusher like that since the seventies.

rowingboat · 09/10/2010 23:25

Sorry, when I say I haven't seen X-Factor yet, what I mean is I have just started watching it.
Deige it wasn't the clinic's fault, it was the fault of my ears who didn't hear the date, just the day. I'm going to punish them later for letting me down.
And also punishing my metabolism for not burning off all my fat whilst I sleep.
Smile

Diege · 10/10/2010 11:28

Morning! Rowing watch out for the breast-rubbing (of the dancers) at the very end of Wagner's performance. Very bizarre!
In fact the dds are watching the end of last night's show on ITV1 now, as I made them go up a 9 - the Wagner bit is just coming on now Grin
Dh very hungover Angry ; has taken to his bed, natch, while I struggle on with the LOs despite being awake since 3am with dd3 and her 'shadow fear' Biscuit. I am storing up credits anyway that I will be spending over the next few weeks.
Hope everyone is ok! Lovely weather here today Smile

rowingboat · 10/10/2010 19:12

Hi all,
Deige I will look out for the rubbing. Yes my DP retired to bed for a week when he had a virus last year. It was a horrible virus, but when he passed it on to me, do you think I retired to bed for a week?! (crazed laughter)
DS insists that I do a Smile and then Biscuit giggles, sooo funny, hooo hooo!

rowingboat · 10/10/2010 19:13

Oh, and rubbish weather, foggy or something.

rowingboat · 10/10/2010 19:13
Biscuit
40someMum · 10/10/2010 19:54

hello all and no not been watching X factor ( boring i know) just lurking

it's my birthday today ( groan) and i am not happy to be one year less likely to concieve.....

my ds justrang up after his first week at university and i talked to him for an hour then cried for the same Sad

anyway - all is good.

galwaygal did you get your AMH result?

I am on 2ww and so far resisted my 2dpo testing - am up to about 8 or 9 now but absolutley NADA symptoms

usually have drawers full of amazing ( imported) pg tests but have run out so cant mess about wasting money
will try to hang on - who else is on 2ww??

Italiangreyhound · 10/10/2010 20:17

Hippy Glad the meeting went well. I think it is a good idea to steer clear of the thuggish behaviour and hopefully the head teacher will investigate where that is all coming from. He sounds like an angry child. I think sometimes kids do try and befriend the nasty-behaved kid as it is easier than just avoiding them (or appears to be) I am sure I made friends with a toughie or two but I have also seen it backfire. So glad I am not at school anymore! But amazingly at least the schools do seem to be a bit more aware than they were back in my day (a million years ago!). PS super sperm does not make 5 babies, super eggs do!

Curlylox Yes, I am always up late. A bad habit I got into in childhood! I think many people are either night owls or morning larks. The people who say they are neither are probably larks! We are all creatures of habit, to an extent, and what started at age 5 continues to now! Must break that habit!

Welcome back Gum. Good to hear your Aussie 'twang'.

Jolls good to see you too.

Rowing and all, hello and smiles and all that jazz.

I'd like to order the baked Camembert, Diege or whoever is doing the cooking.

I am dairy free now for a few days and miss cheese. My bloating is as bad as ever but I am feeling maybe being dairy free and drinking some Puka herbal tea is always good.

I have almost finished reading Inconceivable: A Woman's Triumph Over Despair and Statistics by Julia Indichova. I want to talk about it but I am sacred I will spoil it for you guys so I will start a new thread for anyone who has read it to comment, and especially anyone who has tried her way out ways!

There is a website too www.fertileheart.com/ I am looking into it, I can't recommend it as I know nothing about it really but it intrigues me. I have been down this route before, looked at a similar (I guess) UK version called Foresight www.foresight-preconception.org.uk/ The 'danger' for people like me with no eggs (and even my periods have now vanished!) is it holds out some hope when really it may be not a reality but the plus is that maybe something would work. Struggling as I did to move my 'massive' weight issues (no I am not quite that bad - you are now all picturing me unable to lift myself up from a bath chair and surrounded by a tartan rug the size of Croydon!) well, with weight issues it seemed other things could not make much difference! But now the weight is slowly shifting I wonder if all over healthy eating may be a wholesome approach. I've tried it off and on but get swayed back!

My AF has still not appeared and I am a bit concerned. I last had a period on holiday in August so that was starting around the 6th Aug and it is now after the 6th October so I think that is well and truly over 2 cycles I have missed. My cupboard is stacked full of tampons and panty liners because I still buy in bulk when I see them on special offer! Yes, we are creatures of habit!

40someMum · 10/10/2010 20:23

oooh Italians post just reminded me of something my consultant said...

he basically told us to go away and get on with it and that he could not really help re mc risk etc. What he DID say is DO NOT have surgical option if you do miscarry due to ashermans

Have any of you been advised of this? ( i am not high risk or anything and have only had one - no complications) but he was quite adamant...?

Italiangreyhound · 10/10/2010 20:27

40somethingmum apologies I think we cross posted. Sorry you were sad at your ds on the phone from college but well done him for being one of the 6% to go to uni, is it still 6%??

Not sure what Asherman's is.
