Time for us to move home again ladies!

Hi ljg, so sorry for your loss. I know it's hard, but try and focus on today and your special time with your darling son. His birthday deserves more attention than this "blip": as it will be known as when you have your next baby. Do not reflect on this bad luck, it is but fleeting, fingers crossed. Happy to hear you have a helpful gp, it makes life that much more bearable. When you celebrate your ds's birthday, make sure YOU celebrate it as the day YOU became a mum. It your day as well as his. Tomorrow you can reflect and grieve, in any way you want. Today, you need to be brave and it IS hard. I feel for you hon. Take care of yourself. Hope you have lots of support in RL xxx

StormBird · 23/09/2010 13:08

So sorry ljg - I agree with what fedup said. I hope you can come to terms with things soon and your GP sounds very helpful. XX

CD19 for me - eventually got my Peaks yesterday and today but the monitor is still asking me to test!! Have a stabbng pain right behind my bellybutton which is rather annoying don't think this means anything tho!

I feel really sad about the news on this thread just recently..........

vnewmummy · 23/09/2010 17:08

Thank you all so much xx

rosieposey · 23/09/2010 17:49

ljg so sorry to hear that it wasnt a sticky one for you. Really hope that the GP gets to grips and finds out what the possible cause may be.

I agree Stormbird its all so sad isnt it - really makes me realise what a fickle thing mother nature is :(

essenceofSES · 23/09/2010 20:31

Hello!

Sorry for going AWOL for a few weeks. Just been so very busy. Popped on here for the first time in ages tonight and sorry to see some sad news.

vnewmummy - I had 2 mmc before DS so can understand a little of how you are feeling. It was the most devastating thing to happen. Go easy on yourself and take lots of time for grief and starting the healing process. My thoughts are with you ((((hugs))))

ljg - ((((hugs)))) for you too. Hope you managed to make DS's birthday a good one despite your hurt.

Hello to everyone else

fedupttcnosuccess · 23/09/2010 21:25

Hi essence, those were kind words indeed ; hope they bring comfort to the girls. So, do share: how DID you manage to conceive your precious son then? All tips gratefully received and put into practice by us childless ones! I'm so desperate at the minute, I'll try anything!

boba82 · 23/09/2010 21:43

ljg so sorry to hear your sad news. Encouraging to hear of your proactive gp.

Hi Boba - great hol, am pleased for you!

Missyraines · 24/09/2010 10:45

Vnewmummy how awful. I feel so sad for you. There's nothing one can say apart from how sorry we are. You know we all want good news for everyone on here and are here to share good and bad times. Take time to heal.

Also to ljg Poor you. Such bad luck. But FX for a positive outcome soon.

I thought I wasn't going to peak this month but did yesterday on day 25. Now that is late. My cycle is all over the place. Although I guess thats the beauty of the CBFM. Seeing and charting our cycles.

I've one more 'away' job (for a week from Mon) then no more! Roll on 5th Oct when I start a sensible job!

Starlet22 · 24/09/2010 12:14

Morning ladies,

Sorry haven't posted in a while.

vnewmummy - so sorry to hear your sad news. Am thinking of you and your family - please feel free to express emotions on here if it helps.

Boba - glad to hear you had a good holiday and relaxed. We have a holiday coming up and I can't wait!!

Keziah - good luck for today.

Hi to all the newbies on here.

As for me, had an appointment at the FC this week and am going to have a hycosy (if they can fit me in - seems like a nightmare trying to get an appointment). Dr also said that our PCT rules re NHS funding mean that if you have "undiagnosed" infertility, you don't get any funding for IVF. Bit shocked about that. Anyway, did manage to get the breakdown of FSH/LH results which my GP never got from the hospital. FSH/LH are good but apparently I have high oestrogen so tests were repeated for that. Will keep you posted.

At least it's Friday ladies - hope everyone has a great weekend!

ljg72 · 24/09/2010 13:35

Hello Starlet I'm ok thanks but the pain is alot worse than last time? and alot more blood is coming away? TMI alert! and it smells really yucky?.

Had to go to Dr's as had blood tests already booked, so asked the nurse regarding my symptoms and she said it's quite normal?.
Will get results next week, being checked for antibodies, as I'm rhesus negative.

Hope you ok? hope everybody else is too!X

Starlet22 · 24/09/2010 14:18

ljg - as if the emotional pain wasn't hard enough.....hope the pain and everything else eases up soon. Take it easy this weekend X

Just updating my stats :)

Jenni - cycle buddy, where are you!!??

fedup - hello! It did take a while (18mo) to conceive DS so perseverance is important! In the end I was using OPKs and temping.

ljg - take it easy. Hope the pain starts to ease. If the bleeding is still heavy and yucky smelling after the weekend, may be worth seeing GP.

Starlet - hope the tests help and you don't have to worry about the possibility of IVF anyway.

Missyraines - yay for "sensible job"!

Boba - your holiday sounds lovely. Hope you find a nice cheap netbook!

Hello everyone else - hope you've got lovely relaxing weekends planned :)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 25/09/2010 08:02

ljg so sorry to hear your news. Hope you're ok Sad

starlet fx the tests start to give you some answers!

Am looking for some words of advice on the monitor and hoping you guys might be able to help. Last month (1st cycle) I got 13 highs (day 12-23) and no peaks, which I put down to the monitor "getting to know" me. I'm now in day 16 of my second cycle and 6th high so far. Again, no peak. I'd like to think it's just missing my surges (I think rosie posted on thus?) but have been temping too this cycle and seeing no rise yet, if anything it's gone down slightly over the last few days!

Any idea what's going on? Is it possible that I'm just not ovulating [panic emoticon]? and if so, why is the monitor going to high? Confused

rosieposey · 25/09/2010 09:52

Morning, just need to update my stats Izzy I obviously have such short surges there is no way the monitor catches mine in the morning. LH metabolises into my system by the afternoon and combined with the usual day of EWCM i know its coming so i test around 2ish.

This cycle i got my high on the day i thought i would so im definately sticking to the 3pm setting of the M button. The advice with opks is to test in the afternoon so ive just applied it to the monitor too. I have tested positive for a surge at 2pm and its gone by 6pm so im not surprised the CBFM cant pick it up firt thing in the morning. Izzy perhaps if you dont get a high this cycle (but you do get a thermal shift) then try the afternoon setting? I got a definate thermal shift this cycle coninciding with the monitor.

lgj im so sorry you are going through this, i had a ms before DS (it was three years ago around now) at 11 weeks and omg it hurt so much so im really feeling so bad for you :( Usually though if it smells that signifies infection? Im surprised that the nurse said that was normal - keep an eye on things and if you get a temperature or anything dont hesitate to phone the doctors. Be good to yourself and rest up if you can, you need time to recover physically as well as emotionally xx

Vnewmummy i hope you are ok - i know your not but just to say i am thinking of you.

Starlet hope your test results come back with something definitive - its annoying when they have to repeat something but it will give you some answers - good luck.

Im 10dpo today and as im the worlds worst (or probably mumsnets worst) poas addict i started testing on 8dpo (i know i know!) anyway i had a nice strong sample yesterday afternoon (held on for 7 hours) and i dipped a test and got a faint positive, dipped another three in the same sample, but one of them was a superdrug hpt, the superdrug one came up negative but the other two which were the same as the one i got the line from also came up with a line ... so im thinking that all three cant be evaps,i have some rotten luck with evaps so never believe it till i see more than one. Took a photo and put it on my profile - its a bit crap though and you have to squint to see them! They are more obvious in RL.

Dipped again this morning hoping for a line but i couldnt see anything after 5 mins however after 10 there was the faintest of faint lines (much fainter than yesterday) but i dont think that the sample was as strong as yesterdays so im really Hmm about it all, maybe its a chemical pg which would explain why its not stronger this morning but i am only 10dpo today so i guess ill know more tomorrow or the day after. Im not getting my hopes up though, like i said in my last post mother nature is fickle and a little bit cruel sometimes :(

Right, just updating my stats as im actually a day behind.

rosieposey · 25/09/2010 09:52

Sorry for the mammoth post!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 25/09/2010 11:20

rosie - thank you for explaining it again, I have yet to see the magic thermal shift but if I do (please please!) I might try your tactics next month. It's a bit trickier to test in the afternoon as have to fit around work, school run etc, but worth making the effort if I get some sense out of it!

What if I don't see a change in temperature? Would it be possible that I'm not actually ovulating and still getting lots of highs?

Anyway sorry for the mememe, onto the important business - very exciting for you to be getting lines, however faint! Will be keeping my fingers crossed that they start to get darker - after all it is very early days so bound to be a bit hit and miss as to whether they show for you x

rosieposey · 25/09/2010 11:43

I would think that if you dont see a change in temperature then you probably havent ovulated - i have heard of women ovulating without thermal shifts though, its rare but it does happen.

If you are getting highs then its detecting the hormone you secrete before LH which probably means you are going to ovulate but just late - two months ago i got a positive opk (smiley face ones) on day 23 of my cycle whereas normally i get it on day 15/16 - that was a very long cycle that month as sure enough i still had a 14 day luetal phase once i actually did ovulate.

I think that because you are getting highs its a good sign and hopefully you will ovulate soon - the thermal shift is the thing to watch out for.

I took those photos off from yesterday as i got three positives (and one negative) from some internet cheapies i dipped a couple of hours ago. First Response was negative too but i suppose its a bit hit and miss at the moment - have a look at the first pic on my profile and please tell me they dont look like evap lines, im trying hard to convince myself that they arent ...

Wish it was Monday already so i knew for sure.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 25/09/2010 11:59

Right well I'm viewing them on my iPhone which while it is wonderful in many ways, does not have the best resolution for viewing posted pics. And I can def see some lines. So it looks pretty good from where I'm sitting Grin

I'm guessing you'll be going mad over the weekend wondering "am I, aren't I?" so will keep my fx for you on Monday. In my view, a line is a line, doesn't matter how light it is. Try to relax, think positive, and enjoy it!

rosieposey · 25/09/2010 13:19

Ah Izzy you made me smile :) had another look at the FR i did from this morning and i know you arent supposed to after the allotted time but i couldnt resist and there is the faintest of faint pink lines on that too - its a few hours old and i didnt see that earlier so its probably an evap however they cant all be so im going to try and do what you say, relax, think positive and enjoy it :)

Keziahhopes · 25/09/2010 19:37

Starlet each PCT has their own rules... where I am no funding for unexplained until 3yrs after first start testing. With a problem it is one cycle only. Don't like postcode lotteries - same everywhere would be helpful!

It went ok thanks, we have a problem with DH's sperm, as we knew about and my progesterone is a bit low so we need ICSI due to dh's problem with semen... our cycle is for Nov, so one more natural cycle eek. Went well thanks, but only after 9mths of testing.

Starlet - have you had a transvaginal scan also? My HSG was ok, they do get busy as it depends on yoour cycle as it can only be done days 6-10 of cycle - I had to wait 2 cycles for mine, but worth it!! All the best.x

rosieposey · 26/09/2010 09:17

Ok, deep breath - lines on all the tests i did this morning Grin so cautiously optimistic - only 11dpo but think that its safe to say it worked this month, next few days will tell for sure but im nervous as had a really horrid ms at 11 weeks at exactly this time three years ago. Fingers crossed though.

How is everyones weekend going? Lgj are you ok? Hope you are resting up and taking it easy.

I dont know about anyone else but its bloody freezing here at the moment, i refuse to put the heating on this year till October but my teens are moaning at me, I usually have it on when its cold and sod the cost but we are trying to cut back this year and last year our gas and electric was 200 per month Shock which is pretty pricey so i dont think we can do that this year - its jumpers and cardigans all the way!

Last night i had a look at what time the moon was rising online (7.06) and took the girls, DH and DS to see it on the highest point outside of the town we live in in Wiltshire - at this time of year its all big and orange so it was truly beautiful to behold - it was such a clear night, if its clear again tonight might take them up there again. It wasnt quite dark so the sky was bright red in the west and the moon was rising in the north east. Lol i sound like a closet hippy but this really is my favourite time of year, i enjoy Halloween, Bonfire night and Christmas so much.

Well hope your all having nice weekends and that its nice and restful, im off to start prepping a roast - yum!
