Sorry AF got you Rosie Pink & KC

Just a quick post from me today.

Hope you are all well XXX

EmmaC29 · 29/09/2010 12:41

Hey girls, would love to join your stats, not sure what all the shorthand means though, as i've only just joined the site Smile

so far i can give you

TTC#1, Cycle 11, CBFM 0 (starting on 8th Dec!), aged 29 then the UCL & CD I'm not sure what this all means Confused xx

EmmaC29 · 29/09/2010 12:42

sorry that meant to say CBFM 0 (starting on 8th Oct!) xx

StormBird · 29/09/2010 12:49

Hi Emma,

UCL means Usual Cycle Length
and CD is Cycle Day

So add your UCL in and then when you set your monitor on Day 1 of your period this will be CD1 for you.

Good Luck

xx

fedupttcnosuccess · 29/09/2010 12:51

UCL: usual cycle length; CD: cycle day( what day of your period you are on,cycle day 1 being the 1st day of your period).
Welcome to the thread. Hope it brings you luck.

EmmaC29 · 29/09/2010 12:52

Thanks StormBird Smile

Starlet22 · 29/09/2010 13:20

Hi Boba - I wish. The tests that showed high oestrogen were taken in July so just had day 3 bloods repeated .....

Fingers crossed Storm.

boba82 · 29/09/2010 13:33

Ooops sorry starlet I must have missed that post Blush

essenceofSES · 29/09/2010 20:22

Hello all!

vnewmummy - very brave of you to take a firm decision but I can understand why it's the right decision for you. Take care and feel free to keep in touch on here if you want to.

Emma - welcome to the thread :)

PinkCustard - sorry your DH is not co-operating :( I agree with Starlet's comments. Maybe try asking him at what stage he would be prepared to go and get SA? I know if I were you though I would be tearing my hair out. Here's hoping you don't need it anyway and you get your BFP in the next couple of months!

Storm - that does sound promising! Hopefully it will be your month!

Rosie, KC, Keziah - sorry for AF

Lychees - glad your HSG went ok

Thanks for lovely comments about our new kitchen. I have Wednesdays off work so spent the afternoon in there with DS playing and I cooked a beef casserole for tea, some stewed apples and and apple sponge. (We have 3 large apple trees in the garden!)

Hello everyone else I've missed - hope we get some lovely BFPs soon :)

BabyHoping · 30/09/2010 08:15

Hi everyone,

Well, another BFN, this months after a full ovulation treatment and being completely drugged. I´m really sorry but I just decided to move away from the forums and try not to think about it in the next months.

Thank you for all the support you have been giving me. Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

Starlet22 · 30/09/2010 10:54

Morning babyhoping - so sorry to hear about your BFN this month. I really hope you get your BFP one way or another soon and that you come back every now and again so we can see how you're getting on. You never know, taking some time out may be just what you need. XX

boba82 · 30/09/2010 11:35

Sorry to hear that baby good luck to you too hun, hope to hear from you in a couple of months. x x x

KnackeredCow · 30/09/2010 18:21

Hello to everyone today.

Have been feeling a bit blue since the arrival of AF. I need to think a bit more positively at the moment and try and not to dwell so much on the fact I am not yet pg Sad

BabyHoping I am really sorry that you are leaving us, but I completely understand where you are coming from. I hope that you are able to come back soon with a BFP.

Keziah I think we will see some major changes when the PCTs are abolished. As GPs will be commissioning under guidance from the NHS Commissioning Board, services provided should more closely meet the needs of the their local population and it is more likely to be evidence-based and that essentially means in accordance with NICE. So there may be hope for us all.

It's fascinating that there is actually a standard protocol for fertility in the NHS in England and Wales (it's called Map of Medicine), but most GPs are unaware of it's existence, which is pretty shocking. I can't do a link directly to it as it's not a www address. It checks where you are in the world. Those ladies in England and Wales can access, those in Scotland won't be able to. However if any of you are interested having a nosey then click on this link www.mapofmedicine.com/accessthemap/accessthemap Choose the option 'get login free access to the map of medicine now'. Then choose Obs & Gynae under 'Browse Pathways by Area'. Choose Gynae. Choose Infertility and then choose the pathway that you're interested in. It comes up with a fascinating flow chart of what protocols should be followed....

With respect to Keziah's question about whether my first appointment was so thorough because of DH's job, no I don't think it was. I live in a large university city very close to the medical school. Our GP Pratice is a training practice for medical students and therefore the GPs all teach and are pretty clued up on best practice. I think therefore we got lucky Grin

Pink I think Starlet hit the nail on the head wrt the bloke's potential embarrassment. My DH is joking about the SA, but I know it is worrying him. He keeps saying that he is "worried he might be firing blanks" - his words, not mine.

Storm wishing you loads of luck. Hope it's a BFP for you soon. FX and babydust for you.

StormBird · 30/09/2010 18:29

Hi Girls,

Babyhoping I'm so sorry it was a BFN. I do hope that a bit of time out will help and you get your BFP soon. God luck hun hope to hear from you soon xxx

Pink I'm actually kind of shocked that your DH is so reluctant to go for an SA. What does he think will happen? or is it a case of not being able to cope with the wait and the worry of what might be? (which I hope to god would be that there is nothing wrong with the little tiddlers). How do you tackle this? Its definately a bit of a Quandary! I have absolutely no idea what to even suggest to do but I hope you can work through it and that he comes round to the idea hun....Good Luck x

SES I could eat a mahoosive hunk of your Apple Sponge with a big old dollop of Custard (normal yellow custard though Pink, don't worry), it sounds deeeelish.....

Well CD26 for me and another record temp. 36.63 to be exact. I'm super tired and super spotty and look a bit like Waynetta Slob (maybe I should change my name LOL)

Anyway, apparently dinners ready so I must dash or I'll get in trouble.

Speak to you all again soon.

XXX

Keziahhopes · 30/09/2010 18:44

KC sounds like your gp practice needs to be everywhere. I just got tonsilitis again, saw triage dr and he said "got 16 more people to phone, lets hope they don't all need seeing like you in next hr!" - well not my fault I got septacaemia last time from tonsillitis so sort of wanted to see a dr before I needed a blue lighted ambulance!!

All the best Babyhoping

KnackeredCow · 30/09/2010 18:53

Keziah that's awful. What a rude thing for your GP to say to you. Could you change practice? I am Shock. Sounds like he hadn't bothered reading your notes. Truly awful behaviour.

Keziahhopes · 30/09/2010 18:57

Hi, thankfully this dr is retiring! It was the only one who could see me urgently, as went to see nurse for asthma check and she got me the apt!

Could be worse, the ENT outpatient dr told me to go to ENT ward at first sign of sore throat for 24hrs iv drugs... so did that yesterday, they basically laughed at me, the registrar not even examine me, the other one didn't even want me to have oral antibiotics. Said come back when your t-shirt is stuck to you .. well due to my immune problem I don't get a temperature, which they ignored. At least got antibiotics today! Need to get well to get pregnant !!

StormBird · 30/09/2010 19:56

Hope you get better soon Keziah . Like KC I am [shocked] at your GP. and the dr's at ENT, why don't these people listen??????

KnackeredCow · 01/10/2010 10:15

Keziah I hope you get better soon too. It sounds like the doctors that have seen you haven't developed or communicated a proper management plan for you when you get poorly. x
