...was going 2 wait til end of the week 2 test with my 1st response....BUT I CANT HOLD OUT THAT LONG!!!
have taken the advice of someone on another thread i read a few days ago and gone out and brought a couple of superdrug cheapy ones that i can pee on 2 my hearts content (sort of!), and unless 1 shows up as positive (here's hoping) will save more expensive 1 for end of week-or longer IF i can manage it!
so.... here's waiting til i next need 2 go, and will b taking my special little gadget with me...
wish me luck

Oh I know your right, but cant help wishing time away. Think Im going to pay for an early scan - just for peace of mind.

Think if your testing later in the day and not morning wee, general rule of thumb is to hold it for 4 hours (if you can manage that!!) before peeing on stick.

broodywantcoilout · 23/09/2010 13:49

with our 2nd we knew a few ppl who'd had miscarriages around that time, when i saw dr 2 say id got bfp he seemed confused saying it would b 2 soon after af 2 test positive. so we got nervous and paid 4 a scan with lifescan, was about £35, could only c a small sack, so she got us 2 go back a week or 2 later (no extra cost)and we saw bean and heartbeat! well worth it, tho i think they may b more expensive now, so i wont b doing the same again this time as have moved a few hundred miles away. but would recomend it if thats wot ur thinking of

broody- i did the same thing wiv the test & got the same line, it doesnt mean anything its still a neg x

im two weeks late today not that it means anything cause i was two weeks & 3 days late last month & i got a very strong false positive as well. i think i may be ovulating today but im really not sure :-[ got no pains but lots of eggy discharge x

broodywantcoilout · 23/09/2010 16:49

thanks mummyabroad
hopefuly you'll get your answer in a few hours and wont need 2 even consider taking tests apart!
tashx welcome! thanks 4 that, i kinda knew it would b but as i've never taken 1 apart b4 didnt know wot 2 expect-and also didnt realise how easily they came apart either!
false positive?!?!? sounds pretty harsh!

tashx · 23/09/2010 16:59

yes i took the test but my friend rang, so i just put test in my back pocket of my jeans, an hour later lol i remembered it was there looked at it & thought oh my gosh!! as i saw a very pink line ( i have 4 kiddies so wasnt trying to get preg really) sent the pic of test to my friend who agreed it was pos. anyway thought i would take another test 2 days later just to make sure, it was neg!! auntie flo arrived two days after that lol

broodywantcoilout · 23/09/2010 17:02

they say 2 ignore tests after a while, so perhaps thats why. sorry

OP posts:
tashx · 23/09/2010 17:05

yes i think that too, so this time im a bit funny about testing cause even thou i wasnt before & now really broody lol & would love another!! i know 5 sounds alot, i just would love my girl to have a sister.xx

broodywantcoilout · 23/09/2010 19:05

damn these cheap tests!!haha, prob wouldnt have tested if i didnt have them, now left in limbo!!
r blood tests more sensitive than poas? i dont want 2 sound like a fool going 2 dr asking 4 1!

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 23/09/2010 19:53

Says here that they are more sensitive

BUT I dont think your GP will do one unless they have a reason other than just to find out for pregnancy (because they normally use urine test for that)

TicTac · 23/09/2010 20:04

Hi all, holding out for broody!! I have had af aches all day and just been to loo and there is some spotting so I guess that's me out of the running for a June baby :-(

I didn't spot with previous pregs so am certain.

I hate that I have been totally symptomed up this time with bad taste in mouth, bloaty, sore boobs and dog tired...

Never mind, there's always next month hey.

tashx · 23/09/2010 21:01

MummyAbroad · 23/09/2010 21:18

tashx · 23/09/2010 21:23

oh no mummyabroad not u too, wheres all the baby dust gone on here x

Lexipope · 23/09/2010 21:26

I know how you feel I thought I was pregnant this month and tested 4 days before with the First Test Response one!
Mine was negative though :(
You can get some mega cheap ones from Wilkinson 79p!! for 2! But there the ones they use in surgeries you pee in a cup and then dip it in there!
Not as glamourous but WAY saves the pennies!!
:)
