...was going 2 wait til end of the week 2 test with my 1st response....BUT I CANT HOLD OUT THAT LONG!!!
have taken the advice of someone on another thread i read a few days ago and gone out and brought a couple of superdrug cheapy ones that i can pee on 2 my hearts content (sort of!), and unless 1 shows up as positive (here's hoping) will save more expensive 1 for end of week-or longer IF i can manage it!
so.... here's waiting til i next need 2 go, and will b taking my special little gadget with me...
wish me luck

By the way am not suggesting that temp-ers are mad :o , just that it would drive me mad :o

MummyAbroad · 17/09/2010 13:37

I used to think that, but it turns out to be much easier than I thought, plus I love knowing whats going on, it feels like a veil has been lifted and all things that were once a mystery to me are perfectly clear.

I do take your point about madness though, I am definitely on the mad side at the moment, (especially as its the 2ww!), but for me its more to do with having had a mc and desperately wanting to have a healthy pregnancy soon. I would bet money that where you find a woman who temps you will also find a history of infertility/mc.

Anyway, good luck to you! xxx

broodywantcoilout · 17/09/2010 17:09

sorry to hear that runnyeggs its horrible seeing that 1 line or the words 'not pregnant'. you cant bare 2 look at it until the 3mins is up, sat praying that it WILL be positive and thinking how happy you'll b when it is, then when it isnt - 'stupid thing it must b wrong' and keep going back 2 double check the result b4 finally giving in and chucking it in the bin.
mummyabroad best of luck with ur testing!!! someone on this thread had got 2 get a BFP!!!! lets hope its yours!
i'm now pinning my hopes on winning the lottery 2nite, we'll see......

Hi all, Im really sorry to hear about the BFNs. Fingers crossed that this time next month will be completely different.

So, turns out my instincts were right. I knew I was pregnant. I never knew this early before (and although I have 2 children this is my forth pregnancy). On Thursday night I was in college and got this strong metallic taste in my mouth, which I'd never had on any of my pregnancies but had heard about it. Came home and had to jump out of car and spent 10 mins dry retching outside (sorry tmi).

So today is 11dpo and Im not due periods until next Wednesday. Done a first response test at around 4pm today and am delighted to announce I got a very strong BFN!!!!!!!! Smile Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Feel a little bad announcing it here as I really know how badly you all want it too but because Im due on the 1st June and hoping you'll all be having June babies with me.

A little scared and apprehensive at the minute, had a miscarraige early last year and it has definately made me more nervous. Please cross your fingers for me that this goes ok and baby thrives, and if your religious, please say a few prayers Wink

BarbieLovesKen · 18/09/2010 18:57

Oh my!!! must be baby brain already!!Wink cant believe I wrote that!!!

BFP obviously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

MummyAbroad · 18/09/2010 19:41

oh, thats wonderful news!!Smile Smile Smile Smile SmileGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin Thanks for coming back to tell us!!

I had an mc in March, and know how it makes TTC so much more stressful. I really hope this next 9 months is a smooth ride for you, try not to worry too much (probably easier said than done, I know, but it seems the right thing to say.)

I am 11 DPO too, testing with internet cheapies at the moment and all BFN's so far. BUT if I AM preggas we will have the same due dateGrin

keep us posted xxx

broodywantcoilout · 19/09/2010 16:51

how exciting barbielovesken am so happy 4 u!!!!!!! and glad that u told us 2! :-)

wow! some stong symptoms u had there suddenly!!!
1st of june sounds lovely!! u can enjoy the summer with baby and (if u work) the summer off work 2!
i briefly heard something on teh news channel the other day about maternity pay changing to full pay for the first 20weeks?sounds like a major change 2 me, do any of you know any more about this/when it may be brought in?
i have ordered the amazon cheapies recomended on this thread, should arrive in a few days. mummyabroad dont know if it helps but i read reviews on them, and a few ppl mentioned getting VERY.v.v.v. faint positive lines (which were strong on more expensive tests), so look v.closely at the result. also that some ppl dont show up positive until the day af due or a few days later. dont know if tat helps at all. good luck with the testing! it can get a bit of an obsession i know.
barbielovesken keep us up 2 date with how everything goes-from symptoms to scans and telling ppl (if u havent already!)
big hugs 2 u all

Well broody you said that "someone on this thread has to get a BFP" and it happened, so can you now wish for us ALL to get a BFP please? You got the magic!!

I am hoping you are right about the sensitivity of the internet cheapies. I searched the packet everywhere but cant find any details of how sensitive they are. Last time I cracked a couple of times and went and did ones from the shops too (you are right it is an obsession) this time I am sticking to the cheapies so as not to end up bankrupt.

I think also that I actually LIKE the idea of them not being sensitive. If you get a BFN you can always tell yourself its because the test is crap and test again the next day!Grin

Sorry dont know anything about maternity pay.

Where are you in your cycle now? Any more testing coming up for you soon?

xxx

TicTac · 20/09/2010 12:10

Hi, I never have had an early + test but its driving me crazy, I'm 6 days after ovulation and we did baby dancing. I have now had period pains and sore boobs for the last 3 days with an iffy taste coming and going. I did a test this weekend but BFN (as expected) and I know I shouldnt bother testing until the weekend when I will know one way or the other anyway but I am soo tempted to whizz out and get another test!

I have 1 DD age 4.5 and had a MC in 2008. This is the first time we have tried since.

MummyAbroad · 20/09/2010 13:21

Hi Tic Tac, I am 11-13 DPO now and still getting BFNs everyday! I tell you it gets really depressing seeing a negative every morning. Much better to wait if you can! I am using packs of 25 tests bought off Amazon (about 5 pounds a pack, so much cheaper) I think I might have to buy a pack of 50 next month though!Blush

sunface · 20/09/2010 13:24

Oh TicTac i can totally sympathise. My last period was at the end of August and i have a cycle of roughly 28days.. just did a test and it was BFN - no surprise! Bought a twin pack so am trying hard to leave the next test till the weekend! Same as you, i've been having sore boobs and mild period pain and feeling a bit icky in the mornings, but am figuring it's way to early to get any symptoms.....

TicTac · 20/09/2010 13:34

Thanks..its like an addiction isnt it! I just discovered Asda do a 2 pack for £3.60 and that only needs 15muls of hcg where the cheaper ones usually need 25 and the expensive ones 10 so I have just bought some of the asda tests. Even though I know I am gonna get a BFN. Its so frustrating isnt it.

MummyAbroad - not long to go before you can find out for sure!

My AF is usually 34 days but it threw a 37 day in last month so I started on the ovu test, looks like I a back on a 34 dayer again....

Why do we do it???

sunface · 20/09/2010 13:37

heehee it is like an addiction, as if we don't have enough going on in our lives already!!! oh thanks for the Asda tip, i bought mine from boots and they were about £9!! Getting to be an expensive addiction this!

How exciting for mummyabroad here's hoping!

broodywantcoilout · 20/09/2010 13:53

mummyabroad and tictac the cheap amazon ones (im sure it was something like 25 for £3.60 free delivery are meant 2 b 10mls of hcg so ultra sensitive as it says, and look very similar,if not the same as the ones you get from drs.
my period lasted 2days then turned 2 almost nothing. has stopped now, as got (lots of) BFN's am now waiting 4 the arrival of the rest of my af (as it usually lasts 7days it must b lurking about somewhere)!!

OP posts:
TicTac · 20/09/2010 13:56

broody - Have you had any symptoms?

MummyAbroad · 20/09/2010 16:21

More addictive than crack this lark.. I think we should take the "waiting" out of this thread title as it seems no one is actually waiting, just testing as much as their wallets can afford.GrinGrin

Broody Thanks for the reassurance that my internet cheapies are indeed sensitive.

I am still Buggery Fucking Nothing. Sigh.

xxxxxxxxxxxx

TicTac · 20/09/2010 17:27

Well clearly I didnt wait and tested earlier on today...guess what..BFN. Of course! Better hold on until Saturday when I am actually due AF.

mummyAbroad you're right, the "waiting" is clearly not happening..LOL!

Mumsnet in general is pretty addictive, I know when I joined up I was PG with my DD and joined a few other brave ladies who where discussing pregnancy even though only 5 or 6 weeks, I am stil in touch with some of them but via facebook now! Would be great to join a "Due June 2011" group....

Babydust to all us testing addicts ;-)

MummyAbroad · 20/09/2010 19:24

cheers TicTac baby dust right backatcha.

I wanna be in that June thread!Smile

broodywantcoilout · 20/09/2010 20:16

wish i could b joining u! tictac i'm sure i've put my symptoms down several times on this thread-now add extreme tiredness 2 them...but i know i'm not preggers :-(
mummyabroad - here's to everyone on this thread getting a BFP!!! will miss chatting 2 u all on here as everyone moves on 2 the pregnancy threads! -tho obviously they're much better threads 2 b on!!! ;-)
sunface when's your af due?

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 20/09/2010 20:22

chin up broody,

There is an old MN myth that the one who starts the thread gets the BFP, so you should be up the duff in no time!

When we all get BFP's we can turn this thread from "waiting to test" to "waiting to birth" Grin Grin Grin

broodywantcoilout · 20/09/2010 20:45

haha yes, liking the sound of that! :-)
when ru planning 2 take ur next test? - i'd plan 2 take 1 on a sat and take it the mon b4!! haha

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 20/09/2010 20:56

I am testing everyday now, AF due on Wed, there is no point kidding myself I am going to wait till then!

TicTac · 20/09/2010 22:20

I'm going to hold off testing again until Friday, but I wouldn't bet on me! Lol!

We turned our old ttc thread to feb 06 babies.. I wonder if it's been archived!

Night all x

sunface · 21/09/2010 09:29

broodywantcoilout - love the name! my AF probably due early next week, i'm pretty sure it's just my usual AF signs that i'm getting at the moment, although the sicky feeling isn't a normal sign... wish i had a time machine! oooo mummyabroad keeping everything crossed for you

sunface · 21/09/2010 09:38

well, of course i couldn't hold off and just tested again and it was BFN. Just know this will be AF making her slow and steady presence felt... Boo!!!!
