The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Ohh Brassica a tentative well done! Grin

I too took a pee on a stick today (10 dpo) and holy crap positive!!! Am being very low key about it though after the last 2 months. Rest assured I'll be doing another test tomorrow and then again on Sunday (I still have 2 in the cupboard), then down to the Dr on Monday to beg for help to make it stick.

BrassicaBabe · 08/10/2010 20:54

I'll join you in that nomore BFP on a digital test for me Grin

Right I've got to be careful about this one. I think I am 29DPO. But I've been bleeding since last Saturday. And had a "period" 2 weeks ago.

I've spoken to the out of hours GP who said to take things easy but the miscarriage is associated with pain and bleeding isn't uncommon. So we'll just have to wait and see.

I can now take my head out of my arse to catch up with the goings on that I've missed this week Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/10/2010 21:00

Heh, well now you're not allowed to prop up the bar, you've got stacks of time to read! (thank goodness I didn't name names earlier!)

milanomum · 08/10/2010 21:07

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) Grin
at nomore and Brassica WOW! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! staple your cervixes shut immediately the both of you.
I'm feeling enthusuastic and positive all of a sudden Grin

BrassicaBabe · 08/10/2010 21:17

And low-key congrats to nomore too! Grin

I've been drinking like a fish for the last fortnight! It's all going to have to stop for now (see, trying not to get excited)

The pesky business is that immediately after BFP the first thing I wanted was a drink!!!

OP posts:
milanomum · 08/10/2010 21:18

p.s. you are both incredibly calm... too calm.

BrassicaBabe · 08/10/2010 21:30

I've got little twingey pains. I'm very excited but don't think this bleeding is good. So trying hard to play this down.

Off to drive pesky student to the pub!

DH is joining me later as he's still working. We won't be able to talk properly because of pesky student. So I've left the BFP test under a peice of kitchen roll with his dinner.

Farmer types don't get excited yet about this kind of thing anyway Hmm

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/10/2010 21:33

Milano, once I know this little blighter is going to stick I'll be juming up and down and squealing like a squealy thing.
Am feeling a bit superstitious, so the things I did the last 2 times I'll be avoiding like the plague this time. Ekk!

Can you believe my DH really does have super sperm and has knocked me up 3 times in 3 months?!

Brassica I've been having sneaky vodkas this week as was so convinced I had PMT!

Eskarina · 08/10/2010 22:44

Wow congrats (however tentative) NMCB and BB. Sending lots of positive "sticky" thoughts your way. BB I hope you get the bleeding checked out and sorted soon.
DH has buggered off out with some guys from the office for drinks and curry to celebrate/commiserate one of his good friends leaving. Won't be in til late so no JS for me tonight. But my body has given up telling me when it's decided to ovulate, so even though it should be about now, I have no idea if it's actually happening.

NervousNelly · 08/10/2010 22:48

OMG what happened!!!! I turned my back for 5 minutes, and look what happens Shock Grin.

I will offer tentative fingers crossed sticky thoughts for you both :)

NervousNelly · 08/10/2010 22:55

I meant to say, of course, tentative congratulations and fingers crossed sticky thoughts.

NOT - tentative fingers crossed Confused.

Miffles · 09/10/2010 00:10

Yaya yay aya!! (sorry - I haven been fropping up a bar and ny typing is reallu squiffy. Apologise.)

Tnetive congrats to Brassica and NMCB

That is fab news - just what this thread needs. BB - it does sound mufddled what your body is doing, but a BFP is a NFP )man, typing half cut is really hard!) What i mean is, I hopw that all is well and although the dates and bleeding is all a bit cinfused, I hope it is all goos.

Good.

Sorry,

Had friedns over and had 3 bottles of wine wetween us. it didn't seem that muchm, but I guess th singing around the piano should have suggested how dribnk I was - and now the typing si confirming that.

Please don't reminde me of this tomorrow.

I am ok. Happf for all my viroids that have good new.

Best be off now. Much love

xxx

Miffles · 09/10/2010 00:11

man - reading that back, that is the worst post ever in the the hist=yf of MN. It's not improving. The laset one ended like a text to my mum. I must stop. oops then. [grin[

BrassicaBabe · 09/10/2010 01:50

Pmsl @ miffles drunken typos Grin

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 09/10/2010 07:26

Right, I'm finally catching up with you guys

PMSL at nervous remembering the weekend converstaions of 15 years ago. Ramdom shagging and pucking in the street is unlikely viroid behaviour these days. We're more likely to be sat in front of crap telly with a wine cup of tea Grin

But nervous why would we want to kick you off for rule breaking?! I've been rule breaking all over the place! I'm pretty sure takethat is not far behind me either Wink I have a full (paid for Shock) FF account! I've peed on more OPKs than I've had hot dinners. I've taken my temps for the last 2 months (actually very helpful to know what's going on). And I've seen a fertility consultant and taken fertility drugs. Hardly the relaxed approach Hmm Possibly the worst.....we've had enforced and timed shagging Shock Anyway, I'm 37 and a half and older than you. I'm sure you are good to go!

Welcome newbies, escapeartist, alien and cuckoo

escapeartist Glad you think we rock, but don't be too sure we're as chilled as our ethos suggests. Scratch the surface a little.....Grin

Yeah for taketaht and her thursday ovulation! Grin (Adds more bunting to the collection...)

Am I the only one who was fed up kitten came and went holding a BFP after only one day in our midst?! Grin There! I said it! Blush

Crap for red fecker milano

Still pmsl for miffles and her typos Grin

Well, yesterday's digital test said 2-3 weeks. This morning when should have been the most concentrated said 1-2. But the more I play this game I think that the digital tests are crap. Still bleeding. DH tentatively very excited. But too realistic so we're all trying to stay calm.

I am now offically caught up, back on board and not leaving for some time yet

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 09/10/2010 10:54

Hahahaha miffles that post is hilarious. Hope the hangover isn't too bad

BB awww thanks! I'm glad you are sticking around for a bit, but only if it's for the company! In the nicest possible way, I hope you bugger off to the grads thread soon Wink. I can totally understand your reluctance to get excited, and you too no more. I think milano's staple suggestion is an excellent one. Seen as I'm in the 2ww and OH is away anyway, I'm even going to keep my legs crossed for you both Grin

Also, yes I see where you are coming from re Kiten! I think Milano had a subtle comment buried in her reply Hmm

My Amazon purchases arrived yesterday. A bbt thermometer, 20 cheapie tests, and an opk kit. Which is weird cos I thought I'd ordered a digital hptConfused. so questions. The bbt suggests rectal as the best place to take your temp. But as I have to do it as soon as I wake up, I'm not keen on OH observing that Hmm. so would armpit or Tongue be ok so long as I'm consistent? Next question - the cheapie tests say ultra early. The number 10 features Confused but the instructions don't say when they should/ would be reliable from. Any ideas? Bear in mind I'm 4 DPO so it's probably not yet Wink

vallinnapod · 09/10/2010 11:04

Oh brassica and NMCB so, so excited, happy and crossing everything for you both. Fantabulous news that has really cheered me up.

Very, very down about everything yesterday. Should have felt really positive as went to GP for sexual health check and bloods that the fertility place require. Then got a letter from our first clinc with over £100 outstanding balance - which in fairness we did owe but we left there 2.5 months ago and I specifically asked if we had cleared our bill. Cue argument number 1. Then vet email from current clinic reminding us we owe them £155,which is for the scan I am refusing to pay for as they kept me waiting for over an hour. They are still to get back to me on the progress of my complaint so this is the 4th or 5th time I've had to explain it. I then get a call from them telling me that my appointment in 12th has been moved. OK, so to 13th but at that point I completely lost it. Burst into tears. At work. Had to sit in the loo for 20 mins whilst I cried and then tried to deredify my face. Rang them back, told them their service was appalling and that I wished I was in a position to stop it all but that I wasn't, that they were trading off women's desperation and vulnerablity. Sent home, saw DH and burst into tears. All in all not great.

Want to say 'fuck it all' but I am not going to get PG without help :(

cremegg · 09/10/2010 11:04

Hi all, hope you don't mind another newbie?! I joined MN a while back to look for TTC info, and only just saw the inbox symbol to get to these forums.

Have had a good read of yours and been LOLing (which is making hubby look up from his fishing mag (!) in a questionning manner...should also mention laptop is turned away from him as I think he will think I am obsessed..!...I have been (in his words) 'taking advantage of him' a bit this week!)

Have been TTC for a month, not really got head around Ov times yet... and went camping over days 12,13,14,15 of my cycle! Romantic..! So very unlikely I will be 'doing a kitten'.

Anyway hope all are good, and loving the positive news at the end of this chat :o

Should also mention I'm a Brit living in Aus so posts may be random times.

CE x

cremegg · 09/10/2010 11:09

sorry valinnapod, I didn't see you msge before I posted (was going back and forward from email trying to activate a/c.) Didn't mean by first post on here to appear insensitive, sounds like a rotten day.

Miffles · 09/10/2010 11:11

Morning! I am up and in my right mind without a hangover. My ovaries might be crap but my kidneys do a fine job!! Grin

Though reading back over those posts was amusing Blush

Ok....confession....this is probably becuase reading and posting was the last thing I did before bed, but I dreamt I got a BFP. And I was a mixture of BB bleeding but still getting a positive, and NMCB being at pilates telling the instructor I was pg. Woke up very disappointed....but DH was in a playful mood, so I thought I might as well keep trying!!! Wink

Nervous - loving your Amazon purchases!! So JSing!! No idea about where to stick your thermometer, though agree that rectal would NOT be fun first thing! Ow. ow. I wouldn't rely on your cheapie early tests as early as 10 before AF. Mainly cos with a standard 14 day 2ww, that'd be today and surely 4DPO is WAY to soon! Even for us lot!!

Through the post this morning I had a letter from the hospital. The fertility clinic are "trying to imporve their service" and have sent a full questionnaire for us to fill in before we go on Tue. Am very encouraged by this. Both the idea that they are trying to improve the service and that they're collecting lots of info first. That means I'll have more time to grill the consultant with questions!! Also at the top it asks my occupation. I can therefore indicate that I work for the hospital trust, and they often are nicer to you!! Wink

I echo what BB said about kitten. Am slightly ashamed cos it isn't a nice thing to feel. But am truely delighted two of our own have get tentitive BFPs. Even if they weren't obtained through true JSing!! Glad to hear you'll be sticking around for a bit longer.

Gotta get washed and dressed. Am going to my grandparents 80th birthday celebrations at noon. Wish me luck!

Miffles · 09/10/2010 11:16

And another crossed post from me....super insensitive!!

Vallinna- you had one hell of a crappy day. Im so sorry that this all happens to you. Can you stick your fingers up at it all for a week or two and have a holiday? Not because I'm saying to need to relax to conceive, as that's bollocks!! But so that you can have a break from it all.

Your clinics do sound atrocious. Well done for saying about vulnerable women. There may be others who don't know how to speak their minds.

Welcome Cremegg. Love the name! Sounds like you'll fit right in here

takethatlady · 09/10/2010 12:05

Oh my god I haven't been able to post for a couple of days and look what's happened!! Newbies, BFPs, drunken posting - this thread's got it all!

Right, first things first. vallinna I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. I hope being able to talk about it on here might help just a little tiny bit, although I know it's not going to make much difference until you get your BFP. But there are so many routes for you to go down yet, and although they'll be stressful, there's every chance that you'll get there. I hope your DH is looking after you and that you've got lots of real life support. You are one amazing viroid and there is going to be a hell of a party on this thread when you get a proper appointment get your BFP :)

miffles those are some of the funniest posts EVER on this thread! I love it Grin I especially loved it when you realised you weren't getting it right but clearly didn't know how to fix it :) Got friends over today and the wine's all ready to go. I'll try not to MN later Grin

nervous PMSL about the JSing. I am JSing in name but totally NOT in nature (as brassica knows ;)). Don't stick the thermometer up your arse lol! I do mine underneath my tongue as far back as I can push it. As long as it's the same time every day you're fine. There will be little variations every day but you need to see one big shift to higher temps during the cycle. Fourth day of high temps for me yip f*ing yip. Defo expecting a 64 day cycle.

And finally, brassica and NMCB WTF??????!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! You have well and truly NOT 'done a kitten' (loving that phrase cremegg) - you've put WORK into this BFP and it has made my morning seeing that you are both preggo! You give me hope that problems with ovulation and chemical pregnancies can all be overcome. HOwever, having donated days in the cycle-sharing scheme, I now propose that NMCB's DH donates his turbo-sperm to all us struggling viroids. Heck, he should market it! Honestly ladies, a huge congratulations. I hope the bleeding is just normal brassica - I'm sure it is.

No news from me except for a thousand rule breaks. Gonna crack open that wine and commiserate with vallinna, who needs cheering up, and celebrate with all our knocked up viroids :)

HarderToKidnap · 09/10/2010 12:38

BB and NMCB I am just...wow!!! YAY!!!!!
BB let me give you some advice. Go and see your GP and say you are six weeks pregnant (which, at 30dpo you are) and have had x positive tests and you have been bleeding over the weekend. Keep it simple. Do not tell them the ins and outs of you thought you were on a period but it was short and then bleeding again and then more Clomid etc etc or s/he will think you are just having a CP or whatever. They should be referring you to an EPU for scan early next week.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/10/2010 13:30

Absolutely PMSLing at you Miffles!!! BTW this is the result of a stealth shagf thank you very much! Grin can't get much more JSingish than that!

Would people please STOP mentioning staplers and fanjos (specifically mine!) Ow ow ow!

G'day Cremegg! Welcome and make yourself comfy. Which part of Aussie are you in? I'm a Kiwi in Britain, but used to live in OZ.
Love the term 'doing a Kitten'. (feeling bad I suggested she join us here!).

Looking forward to the Mifflesesk drunken posts later TTL Wink

Have been to Superdrug and bought myself some vitamin B6 to help make this one stick. Couldn't sleep last night because my brain was a horrid mix of nausea and worry and excitment. The next 2 weeks are going to be worse that the 2WW! So if you don't mind shall be hanging about here for a bit, until I know it's safe to move on.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/10/2010 13:34

Sorry Vallinna. Totally didn't mean to blank you just now!! It sucks that you consultants are still mucking you around. It's utterly utterly crap basically.
But if Brassica can get her ovaries into line and manage a BFP, your turn will come. Sooner rather than later I hope.

Hmm not sure I like the idea of sharing my DH's swimmers around....
