The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

PS - only kidding about the OAS on facebook. Just realised that looked serious (and nuts).

vallinnapod · 27/09/2010 12:36

Thanks takethat...I don't think I have stopped eating! Need to sleep so badly...the disabled loo is looking appealling.

Awful flashbacks to last night...I clearly though I was some sort of sex-goddess when I got home...had very noisy (possibly very bad!) sex where I believe I tried to recreate most of the karma sutra....oh the shame!

Miffles · 27/09/2010 12:50

Ha ha ha, Vallinna both on recreating the karma sutra and also to snoozing in the disabled loo. :) A good boozing session every now and then does no harm.

Thanks for the good luck for today, Takethat, although I am only going to work as usual! I appreciate the thoughts, but suspect you're meaning for my consultants appt. Not for another 2 weeks. Wink

(instead of wink, I put [wino]. Although this may be true, it sounded a bit rude!! Shock!)

JosieSmith1 · 27/09/2010 12:53

Oh no! I?ve caused a bad tooth/gum outbreak! Sorry everyone! Blush

Hope you feel better soon Vallinna!

I'd join the OAS on facebook TTL Grin

Tooth is a little better thanks, still on the liquid diet (soup not alcohol Grin) but generally feeling a lot better in myself, though the top wisdom tooth on the other side is quite sore but not infected thankfully!

JosieSmith1 · 27/09/2010 14:53

Don't wanna stir up trouble, but I just heard on the radio that first response tests are BOGOF at Boots...........

takethatlady · 27/09/2010 16:24

Sorry miffles. Bit of wishful thinking that term was 2 weeks further down the track than it is I reckon. I have spent the day trying and failing miserably to get mistaken for a student. They know I'm old Shock

vallinna I'm betting that your drunken attempts at the kama sutra didn't put DH off. Once I had sex with (sober) DH and I was so drunk I don't remember it. I think he took advantage of me. He says it was more like the other way around Grin

takethatlady · 27/09/2010 16:26

BOGOFs, not BOFOFs.

Now thinking of silly things that BOFOF could stand for ... sounds like the kind of competition me and my nerdy friends might have had at school Smile

Might get the Freshers to do one.

SpareRoomSleeper · 27/09/2010 18:43

Right. I need help.

What is 2ww, and how does one know if cycle is too long?

Eskarina · 27/09/2010 21:35

Hi SRS
The 2ww is the two week wait between when you think you ovulated and when your period arrives. It's called the luteal phase and should last 10-15 days (I read that on t'internet somewhere)

Cycle length varies from person to person (and in my case from "month" to "month" Sad) but a so-called average one is 28 days. Have you just come off the pill or similar? If so it can take a while for cycles to settle down. I was 7 weeks between the withdrawal bleed and getting a proper period

BOFOF - Buy one for a friend?

CrochetGirl · 27/09/2010 22:19

Evening all,

SRS, I was thinking the same thing - I literally just finished cycle 1 which turned out to be 33 days, and had absolutely no idea when I ovulated. If at all.

I went and took advantage of the BOGOF/BOFOF offer today, only to nip to the loo in my lunch break, whip the knickers down only to find AF had arrived. Boo.

Good luck to anyone waiting to test still Smile

takethatlady · 28/09/2010 07:56

Day 42 in the Takethatlady house. Takethatlady has been furkling, almost incessantly, for pant snot. What she doesn't know is that Big Brother has removed all the pant snot from her house until further notice, so the furkling is totally pointless. Takethatlady hasn't ovulated since the end of July. How long will it take for her to crack?

That's how you know when your cycles are too long! Anything between 21 and 35 days is considered normal but it can take 3-6 months for the pill to come out of your body. It's because it takes two weeks on average for you to ovulate from the first day of your cycle (ha ha) and then two weeks for fertilisation/implantation. If that doesn't take place you get your period.

Thinking of peeing on a stic, just for something to do...

BrassicaBabe · 28/09/2010 08:12

Sorry for AF crochet

No hint in temps of ov takethat? You're on a waiting game for bloodtests now aren't you? Pesky!

I am resolving not to pee in or on anything this cycle until AF is late. Last month's madness of POAS at 9DPO is still ringing in my ears. And more importantly those of my poor DH Grin

I W-I-L-L S-T-A-Y S-A-N-E this month. Sooooo easy to say at CD4 Grin

Yeah, right Hmm

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 28/09/2010 08:49

Sorry ERTD got you Crochet

And sorry your furkling isn't getting you anywhere TTL

I don't want to keep going on (I'm sure you're all sick to the back teeth of me - pun intended) but I effing hate effing teeth!!!!! [mad] It's not constantly sore anymore, which is a huge improvement, but my bite is no better. Took me over half an hour to eat 3 slices of pizza last night, which was devine being the first thing I ate after scrambled egg for three days! My back teeth squidge the gum when I try to bite, although I can use the right side of my mouth to almost chew it's a huge effort and actually quite tiring!

I can put up with it a bit longer but going out with Mam on thu and she was gonna buy me tea, and we're going for a meal for her 60th birthday on sat and I really want to be able to go, then we're going for sunday lunch at the pub on sunday but if I can't eat it's pointless me going! I don't want to miss all of mam's birthday celebrations Confused. I'm sure I probably just have to keep at the antibiotics and it'll improve eventually Sad [fed up and sore face]

Hope everyone is ok on this dull and dreary morning?

takethatlady · 28/09/2010 09:11

Hey brassica you can keep sane! You can do it! I won't help you wallow this month :) We're all entitled to get pissed off with it all ever now and again I reckon. It's like a pressure valve- if we didn't we'd go seriously and permanently crazy I reckon.

Oh josie I can't believe how much pain you've had. But the antibiotics have got to kick in soon. And then it sounds like you've got my perfect weekend lined up - parties, dinners out, pub lunches. Fingers crossed your munchers are munching again by then.

Nope, no temp rise. 97.05 this morning. Bloody body. Oh well, JSed two days in a row and TV is bloody good at the moment (have a terrible love of reality TV Blush so X Factor and Strictly being back is great; plus Downton Abbey, Spooks, Masterchef, University Challenge .... the list goes on). I am a big loser but at least staying in watching telly means JSing a lot more Grin

HarderToKidnap · 28/09/2010 11:06

I think we have missed this month. Tried JSing last night (prob last chance saloon) and DH couldn't!! Shock We have JSed a LOT recently though. I oved Sunday I'm sure, we managed Thursday night and Sunday morning.

Decided I will temp next month and see how that goes.

Moral dilemma girls: next month shall I sneakily get my progesterone levels done at work? Even though only third cycle TTC? And also if there is somthing wrong I will be shamefacedly telling my GP that I did a sneakly blood test on myself??

JosieSmith1 · 28/09/2010 11:16

Hmm HTK that's a hard one. If I were you I probably couldn't resist. At least if there's nothing wrong you're mind will be at ease, and if there is then yes you'll have to come clean to dr but you can get something sorted. I say go for it.

Thanks TTL, I hope they're better by then but breakfast was quite successful this morning. And someone suggested pasta at the restaurant on sat night so that's a good idea! I will not miss my Mam's 60th birthday. Got a great weekend planned now that you mention it - jumping show with horsey on sat morning depending on weather, meal and Ladyboys show sat night, pub lunch sunday then me and Mam are going to a spa in in Marriott hotel on monday! Even if I can't eat it'll be enjoyable, and relaxing.

BrassicaBabe · 28/09/2010 11:23

I'd def get bloods done harder No brainer Grin

Sorry you tooth is still sort josie

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 28/09/2010 11:23

sore not sort

OP posts:
Miffles · 28/09/2010 11:40

Wow - Josie - I'm jealous of your weekend planned! Sounds great. Although you deserve it after the rotten week you've had with that tooth.

Brassica - do we have permission to slap you with the thread kipper and any other fish that comes to hand during your 2ww? Wink

Loving X Factor too Takethat and my sister mentioned The Apprentice should be back soon. Yay for autumn/winter TV!!

HTK - I think I'd do it. If it does need investigation, I reckon your GP would understand why you did what you did. I bet they did all sorts of tests they shouldn't have! I work in the Ophthalmology dept and we certainly fast-track and do extras on people we know (and each other!)

My older sis, who is pg with no 2, had her 20 week scan yesterday. Another girl. My sis-in-law already has 1 DD and is pg with DD2. Likewise with my sister now. So 4 nieces! I really really hope that I have a boy, then it will be the first on either side of the family.

Looked up the NICE guidelines on assised fertility yesterday. For PCOS:
First clomid for 6 months
Then clomid plus metformin for 6 months
Then ovarian drilling
Then some other hormone drug
Then IUI (6 gos, I think)
Then IVF (2 gos in my area).
All under the NHS. Scary, but gave me much hope that there are so many things to try!

JosieSmith1 · 28/09/2010 12:03

There seems to be a lot more options than you initially realise Miffles. Boys run in DH's family, twins in mine so we might end up with 2 boys at this rate! Got 3 nephews and 2 neices

Thanks Brassica, I'm sure it'll be sorted soon.

Was it on here that someone said facebook is the scum of the earth? I have to agree - my Dad just 'posted' that he's been in and out of hospital 5 times, has to have an operation, and that he's found out he has a problem with his heart. Hasn't mentioned a bloody word of it to me or my bro! Nice to find out through fb don't you think! Angry

Chocoflakes · 28/09/2010 13:39

Everyone seems alot more upbeat after the weekend, very good to see!

This #TTc# JSing has got me obsessed!

so I had a bleed for 48 hours, then nothing for 12 hours then another bleed for a couple of hours -was it implant bleeding- look it up on here and google; if I poke my boobies alot they start to hurt Shock Im really tired (4 children to look after at weekend) Im not hungry (very odd that one) if I think about it, is that a queesyness?!
Why does it take over my mind so much?

Hope we all have a better week ahead.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/09/2010 14:07

How happy was I to go into the bedroom last night to be informed that DH was startkers under the duvet? OH yes soooo Happy!!! Grin I may just be in with a chance this month and if not, at least I've had some rather enjoyable JSing.

Thank goodness I don't know any of you in RL! Blush

Chocoflakes · 28/09/2010 14:31

Thats funny nomore! Good for you!

My OH has had a couple of shocks when i've come in from the bathroom to whip my knickers off and jump on top of him! He doesn't know if im on or off from 1 minute to the next!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/09/2010 14:40

Hmm startkers? that ought to be starkers.

Miffles · 28/09/2010 14:41

Brassica - just re-read the NICE guidelines. It clearly says (and I quote) "There is an increased risk of multiple pregnancy with this treatment [clomid]. Therefore, if you are treated with clomid your healthcare team should offer you an ultrasound scan to monitor your response in at least your first cycle of treatment. This cuts down the risk of having more than one baby at a time".
I remember you saying they wanted to just give you 3 months prescription and you had to push for 21 day bloods. Sounds like you're being fobbed off to me! Are you NHS or private?

Sorry everyone else for barging in with thoroughly un-JSing information.

Well done Mr NMCB!!! :)
