nickstermum · 07/09/2010 20:54

velvet Pants! glad your RT'F'D arrived iyswim, nice to have a base to start from. Now hurry up mine!!

DachshundsRule · 07/09/2010 20:58

thanks nickstermum

just had a small miracle. It's MIL's birthday today and we were supposed to be celebrating at the weekend (ie. DH and I would go round and cook for everyone...). I thought, since there's a high possibility that the IUI will be at the weekend, that I'd better warn her that we might not be able to make it. For anyone who's read all the part 4 posts, you'll know that MIL is not exactly a reasonable human being and this would usually send her into an outrageous sulk, more often seen in toddlers than grown women. But now I think I need a haddocking. I am in shock. She said 'Oh, wow! You really mustn't worry or stress, it's far more important than my birthday'. So I guess she's taken on board what DH said to her when she was talking all the crap about the conservatory being more important than a baby. Seriously in shock now.

nickstermum · 07/09/2010 21:00

caribou glad you are feeling so much more positive today. It helps to get it all out. You obviously needed to. Sod the public display....! I have yet to go into my head office when my very pregnant friend/workcolleague will be there. Been avoiding her, isnt that awful? I dont resent her, but it was unplanned and unwanted and i just dont think i can be around her right now!

PS - yes avoid marley and me - great film but not if you like dogs or have miscarried. Have you read My sisters keeper? The film trounced the book... was gutted even tho i sobbed, and sobbed. The ending was so, so WRONG!!!

DachshundsRule · 07/09/2010 21:00

nickster maybe you should try velvet's trick and wear tightie whities! hope AF arrives soon so you can carry on TTC

nickstermum · 07/09/2010 21:03

MamaPower · 07/09/2010 22:17

Had total and utter melt down today!! I have the most insensitive friend (and I now use the term 'friend' very [excuse my french] f'ing lightly). The day after I had my first mc, she sent me a text saying 'How are you, we're just off for our IVF apt'! Now she knew what had happened and to me it read 'sorry you lost yours, we're just off to make ours'! Anyway, this is her second round of IVF the first being a success and they have beautiful toddler now and are going for number 2. And I wish them all the luck in the world and if and when I get the text to say that they've succeeded i will be thrilled BUT, why oh why, has she felt the need, to send me a message, every day for the last 5 days, giving me progress updates on the state of play with eggs and retrieval and fertilisation etc etc etc, the final straw this afternoon was the detail of the number and quality of embrio's etc etc etc and probably by tomorrow she'll be upduffed!! I'm sorry I know this sounds like the rantings of mad selfish woman but Really????? If you were my friend knowing I'd had 2 mc's wouldn't you spare me the graphic details??
Anyway I went to friends cried like an idiot for an hour then went to pub (didn't go mad glass of wine and G&T)!! Some people are so self involved and thoughtless!!

Really sorry to unleash that here, but I do feel better for getting it off my chest!

Think I'm just gonna hide under my duvet for a day or two! Nicks promise when I've got my self together will get back to you :) x

PinkFondantFancy · 07/09/2010 22:23

Hello all, just a quick hello since I should already be asleep!! Thanks all for your lovely messages of support and hugs and chocolate, I am feeling a lot more positive today, mainly because I have decided to distract myself with looking for a nice holiday in the sun in October instead! Feel like we deserve one after the totally shite summer we had with the MC....

Have updated the list:

Sorry don't have time to namecheck - spent 1 dday away and things have gone crazy on here again! Really excited about dachs follicles though and nicksters hopefully imminent AF!

I have decided that if the guy at work tomorrow puts his scan picture up as his screensaver, I'm going to put a screenshot of the miscarriage association website up as mine, and see if anyone takes the hint..... As one of you sensible ladies said though, his happiness doesn't take away my chance of being in his shoes in future - fingers crossed we'll all be the smug ones in the very near future.

Night all, love you all lots, thanks for being so great xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 07/09/2010 22:29

mamapower (((((hugs))))) Why are some people so insensitive?! Sad. As I've said before my dsis had her 2nd MC a few weeks ago (after several years of trying for #1 and 1 round of IVF). Her best friend is aware of this but persists in sending text updates daily of her own successful PG, swollen ankles, mat leave et al (baby arrived yesterday I believe). dsis is very close to her best friend and really pleased for her, but it does seem like rubbing salt in the wound. I know how upset it has made her so I see where you're coming from and I don't understand why people don't realise that this might be upsetting to someone who would love to be in their position but has recently lost a baby.

I hope the wine/g&t numbed the pain a bit and that you have a better day tomorrow x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 07/09/2010 22:31

pff mmmm, holiday sounds a lovely idea, lucky you!

MummyAbroad · 07/09/2010 22:51

Wow, dont quite know what to say except your "friend" sounds like a bitch. Or very very stupid.

Do you feel strong enough to tell her to back off? You really dont need that kind of stress on a daily basis, this is your time to heal and recover and she is making that very hard.

How about texting her with

"I am finding it very hard to get over the loss of my babies, and hearing your news about IVF is really upsetting me. I know you are looking for someone to support you through the process but right now I am not up to it, I just need a break from hearing about babies, I hope you can understand."

Or alternatively can you ask someone else to have a quiet word with her? She obviously doesnt realise the harm she is doing. (how can anyone be so clueless??)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

nickstermum · 08/09/2010 07:37

Hey mamap forget the lesson!!

BIG HUGS

youremindmeofthebabe · 08/09/2010 09:20

velvet, my cycle buddy! Sorry your year nines were shits. Are you ok thopugh? As you say I am quite delighted that it's just bothered turning up at all!

nickster Is the ending to My Sisters Keeper the same as the book? I really like the book.

mummyabroad I have a mental note now to come to you whenever I need something putting eloquently( I am V bad at this), that text message reads well!

mamap sorry your pal is being very insensitive, obviously she's happy, but it's not that hard to see that we aren't, surely.

PFF where you going to go?

daschs i am Shock at MIL. Is she the same MIL you had last month? No body snatchers or reports of Aliens or UFO's near you?!

owlshoes · 08/09/2010 10:00

Morning lovelies :)

Shock MamaP that's not really what you need, is it. Perhaps she considers you a partner in crime when it comes to fertility ishoos, but still. Perhaps you should start sending her daily updates on the state of your cervix in retaliation, she might get the message then Grin

PFF Holiday in October sounds like an excellent plan; I'm trying to sort out the same. Perhaps in southern spain, I have a hankering for rioja and tapas :)

Dachs good lord above, YRMOTB must be right - this is the work of alien body snatchers. Yikes. Good luck with the follicular happenings.

PinkFondantFancy · 08/09/2010 10:23

mamapower crossed posts last night. Your 'friend' is a nob. She needs to pack in the texts now because the last thing you need is her whinging on a daily basis about all her pg aches and pains etc etc. Is your dp close to her dp? Maybe they can have a man to man chat about how your friend is being less than supportive of your situation. I guess the problem is that becoming pg has become for her as all consuming as it is for us, and so she doesn't realise what impact what she's saying has on anyone else. Big hug for you.

dachs is your dog better? velvet sorry yest was shite, hope today is better. Sorry for selective name check, just going on what I can remember as phone loads v slowly!!

Hope everyone is doing ok today!

MummyAbroad · 08/09/2010 13:53

bloody hard work all this baby making isnt it??!Blush Its a bit of a shock after the huge long postbaby-pregnantagain-mc dry spell I have just been through.

MummyAbroad · 08/09/2010 13:54

Happy Holiday hunting Velvet!!. Dont come to Costa Rica in October, its a mad mad rainy season this year and Oct is the worse.

nickstermum · 08/09/2010 16:49

loola2shu · 08/09/2010 16:50

Hi everyone,

Would you mind if I joined you? I am currently in wtf cycle since my mc (mc#1 ttc#3) on 6th August, and have been lurking for a little while.

MummyAbroad, you've given me advice on a few of my op's - really helpful thank you! had a giggle at the image of the flushed/bedhair/backwards t-shirt combo!

shitforbrains · 08/09/2010 17:10

I feel like shit. Just recovered from ERPC and then yesterday I got hit with the chundering bug.

Great for weight loss but I feel wretched and am I right whingy cow right now.

Just wanted to share that with you all.
