Ravenlocks you are much better than me at keeping the resolutions. I am starting a "health kick" thing over again involving consuming products with vitamins in them - too much junk food recently.

Still waiting for AF post MMC - think I probably have another week to go. Although I hope I'm wrong cos that would mean no chance next month due to impossibility of SWI on those dates.

BF thinks I am just "letting nature take its course and seeing what happens" not obsessing about ovulation and dates. Ho Hum...

We did have a lovely anniversary weekend though and stayed in a very lovely hotel :)

Back at work today after six weeks off :(

Knitter your DH must have some serious stamina!!

Totallyfloaty35 · 01/09/2010 18:28

Hi all,can i join? I thought this would def be my bus,but DH just told me he might be away for 2wks mid month Angry
Im certain he is charting me an knows when to leave to avoid fertile times.
Anyway.....

Hey all

I am proud to say I did my FIRST ever OPK today. A CB digital one.
No smiley, but we have managed some SFF - I must admit it's a lot easier to enjoy it when there's no pressure on TTC.
For sull disclosure though I am feeling very frisky and have lots of fertile CM, so I am sure OV is approaching.

kat2504 - 1st day back for me too, yuck. Oh well, not that long until half term..

knitter - very impressed with your DH, mine found last month hard, and we only managed 4 times in the week around OV. I must try harder.

Pixie At least no one can miss the stats for today, eh Grin

Totally welcome to the bus, I hope you bring chocolate!

at all the others riding.

kat2504 · 01/09/2010 19:46

delilahbelle hope your inset day experience was more exciting than mine! School was, as ever, nice and quiet without the kids. As always, anxious about new class tomorrow. With any luck I won't be doing this time next year, fingers firmly crossed.

totally welcome to the bus. Think I'll be in the same situation as you, but will enjoy the bus ride even if I have to extend my trip. My dp is likely to be away on a bloody fishing trip at the right time. grrrr!

Nicolaplus1 · 01/09/2010 22:04

GoodVibrations · 01/09/2010 23:30

Shock at 3 times a day. I have been aiming for every other day, I am clearly just not putting the effort in!!!

What are you all doing about drinking alcohol? I mean are you drinking or have you given up?. I haven't quite got my head around stopping drinking yet so am still having a few glasses of wine a week, is that bad????? With DD1 I stopped drinking as soon as we started trying, but this time around I have no willpower am more relaxed.

I think the guidelines have changed since I was last pregnant (which was no booze whatsoever). Actually I feel a little clueless this time around Confused

BenignNeglect · 02/09/2010 09:21

Hi CharlottesClan - I've recently started temping too. I can recommend signing up to FertilityFriend for guidance (there are detailed explanations of what the charts mean, and a quiz - showing you charts and seeing if you can spot ovulation - so you can check that you get it).

fatheadsgirl · 02/09/2010 11:00

We only manage every other day too, clearly not making enough effort either!

Im back to my no/low carbs diet again today as nothing fits me anymore which only encourages me to spend the day in elastic waisted PJ's.

My GP was very strict on NO alcohol what so ever. She stared me straight in the eye and said "DO NOT drink alcohol" I nearly stood to attention and shouted back "Ma'am, yes Ma'am!!" Feeling guilty for not taking folic acid so I'm back on that again this morning.

We might be taking a bit of a break from TTC for a couple of months. My BF is getting married in April next year which means I'd be about the size of a beached whale during her wedding, at which I am a Bridesmaid. BF knows all our history and doesn't care if I'm the size of a house or not, she just wants measurements regularly so the dress still fits. But I think maybe it's a bit unfair to be that pregnant at her wedding since I'm a bridesmaid Confused I just don't think it would look very nice in her pictures. What do you think about pregnant bridesmaids?? Please also bear in mind that our dresses are like a cadbury's purpley/pinky colour so im very much in danger of looking like I escaped from a tin of Roses!

Hi all, i have indeed brought chocolate, its in the form of a birthday cakeWink
Im 40 in a couple of days,i had always planned to have had my baby by thenHmm so much for plans.
Plus everyone keeps saying "get a move on,its so much harder to get pregnant in your 40's "
So im not feeling that great about my age now Boo Hoo..

ravenlocks · 02/09/2010 18:14

Hey charlotte I also recommend Fertility Friend if you are temping. I started last month. I did miss a few days and didn't always do it at exactly the same time each morning, but on the whole it was ok. And FF doesn't seem to mind if you don't input the time you take the temp or if you miss a few days. Best thing for me with it is it gives you an actual ovulation date (well it did for me in conjunciton with OPK) based on your temp increase so you know your DPO's are accurate and can stop the SWI with confidence (at the end of the SWI week I am always a bit grateful to be allowed to stop... poor DH, but it does get a bit tiring doesn't it?).

Arg Fatheadsgirl I thought I could drink with no guilt in the first 3 weeks of the cycle, no binge drinking benders obviously, but a bit - I have been tracking and I average about 18 units a week - your GP would lynch me if I was her patient by the sounds of it.Blush

I think you should go ahead with your TTC plans regardless of your friend's wedding - if she has already said she has no issue with you being preggers atall don't feel you should hold back because of her wedding pics - you might end up regretting it don't you think? I think a 'blooming' bridesmaid is rather sweet, plus you might have one of those neat barely there, basketball style, bumps!

Knitter OMG Shock at your SWI count!! How impressed am I at that titanic effort?! I thought once per day from day 10 to day before Ov day, twice on Ov day and day after was good going. I find by the end DH's pecker can't muster much enthusiasm Blush

ravenlocks PMSL at dhs pecker! mine feels the same after our week. what does SWI stand for anyway? we call it rumpy :o

went to the surgery today, im taking a couple of months off ttc on doctors orders. ive got to have a scan for my endometriosis, i need some laser treatment i think. although we have only been actively ttc a few months, we haven't exactly been careful since ds was born, and i should have fallen pregnant by now.

she said as my periods are so bad that i cant leave the house for the first two days, ttc or not it has to be sorted out as its having an impact on my life.

i do love my doc, shes a star

i think im going to stay on the bus/s tho, do my temping and opks see if i can work out my cycle ready for after the treatment. does this sound like a plan?

BenignNeglect · 03/09/2010 08:57

Alright - I hereby cave in - please can someone tell me where I buy the cheapie OPKs on the internet?

ravenlocks · 03/09/2010 12:29

Hi benign, I recommend eBay, I ordered 30 OPKs and 10 preg test and cost me less then 10 quid and OPKs will do me 4 cycles so not bad valua atall.

Good luck.

delilahbelle · 03/09/2010 16:12

Hi all
I am going to get off the bus... finally saw a consultant (we have been TTC for sometime, with only chem pregs to show for it)
She was very good, took 9 tubes of blood to test for genetic/clotting reasons for miscarriage, but also scanned me. I have one blocked tube (hydrosalpinx) and need to have it removed, and then probably procede to IVF.
So we are stopping TTC naturally.
Feeling a bit dazed by it all, but at least I can have a drink without feeling so guilty.

Good luck for the rest of you on your journeys. x

BenignNeglect · 03/09/2010 16:24

Sorry to hear that Deliahbelle. Hope things go well for you if you go for IVF in the future.

kat2504 · 03/09/2010 18:04

delilahbelle sorry to hear your news. Hopefully at least you will now have a way forward without having to go through more chem pregs. I hope you have success with the IVF quickly.
