100 years we x posted- i remember when i was pregnant last time and i was suffering from a chest infection and the only thing they told me that i shud take is paracetamol :(

AC- i forgot to mention b4 about your work situation, i really feel for you, i am in a similar situation i work for complete bullies who it seems there aim is to make my life miserable, when they took me on it is only a 6 month contract but they took me on and gave me a verbal agreement that bcos of DD i cud work 2 days from office and a day from home, now basically i do nothing at work i have no specific job role and spend my day bored out my brain, now last wk he had a go at me in front of everyone saying i have to do my hours from the office bla bla bla, i replied about having an agreement to do a day from home, his answer things have changed
all i have left at work is 5 wks till my contract is up, i asked whether it was really worth me trying to find an xtra days child care for 5 wks his reply yes, i was almost in tears and close to punching him, in the 2nd breath he told me theres not really anything for me to do in there anymore and he wouldnt be renewing anyones contract NO S**t i just cant wait to leave now, hopefully something will turn up for u on the job front soon

100years · 07/09/2010 11:10

Yep, this is what I am worried about re the medication. I should really go and see GP, I shall do that a bit closer to the TTC time, I think it's a wee bit premature to be asking things now, I don't need worry at the moment.

Ah, glad someone likes my idea, I'll let someone else start the new thread though :)

JustShaggingForNow · 07/09/2010 11:19

Oh - excitement on my day working from home!! The recruiter called me about a role that I have been dying to interview for and they want to see me tomorrow afternoon. Good job I am at home and can spend the rest of the day doing research into the company!!!!

100years · 07/09/2010 11:27

Good luck :)

jbells · 07/09/2010 11:31

oh wow JS that is good news

JustShaggingForNow · 07/09/2010 11:48

Yup - fingers crossed! I am so desperate to escape my nightmare boss (althought he rest of the team are ok) and also to move to Bath permanently!!!! IT will mean DH "weekly boarding" in London but it's great in the long run as it will mean we can start to actually make a life in Bath.

squirrel007 · 07/09/2010 12:53

Hi all! I have just got back from an amazing holiday and have spent the morning sneakily catching up on this thread from my phone. Apologies in advance for not remembering everyone's news, will do better later on the laptop.

Good news on the man front from lots of people, glad your OH's are coming round.

Goodbye and good luck to everyone who is leaving! Hope to join you soon :)

Sorry to hear about your work situations jbells and Amanda :( can't be nice to go through, so I hope you find new jobs quickly. And good luck js with the interview.

The exciting news from me is that I now have an appointment in Oct to get my coil removed - eeek! Suddenly it's quite scary but also exciting.

Where did you go on your hols Squirrel? Good to have you back and well done for catching up on the iphone. I tried and failed miserably!!!

squirrel007 · 07/09/2010 15:09

Hi js :) I was in Africa, on safari. Was an amazing holiday, just sad to be back at work now!!

100years · 07/09/2010 18:30

Does anyone else get upset at the whole waiting? Having discussed it, and decided on what is going to happen I am suddenly all impatient and want it now to the point where I am feeling upset over it. Grrr.

Welcome back Squirrel. Great news on getting a date for the coil removal.

jbells · 07/09/2010 19:22

welcome back squirrel, bet the safari was amazing id love to do one of them, ive got a list as long as my arm of places id like to visit, wont be for a long time yet tho :( was it as great as u anticipated?

100 years- yes i can get quite down about it to, it seems to consume everything u do when u want a baby and sometimes seems to be all u can think about, i sometimes convince myself i am pregnant when im not, i wud be near on impossible lol

strawberrypie · 07/09/2010 19:59

bebejones (Hopefully) TTC #2 Jan 2011! (Watch this space, subject to change ) Waiting co DH 'isn't ready' (well he better get there bloody fast) & because I have to stop my meds for 3 months first!

strawberrypie TTC #1 sometime next year hopefully depending on money and house being ready!

Added myself onto the list.......Great to have you back JS and squirrel!

JS thanks for the long post- it was great to hear how you dealt with the big chat! It really does help (me anyway) to know other people are having similar feelings and thoughts! Well done for signing up for the half marathon also! You must be mad! Not really, a target to work towards is a great idea :)

I'm sorry to hear about the bad job situations AC and jbells- it is so hard to deal with bullies in a work environment. Sometimes it's just better to get out rather than let them bring you down- well done for applying for jobs AC- I think it makes you feel better just to be doing something pro-active.

100years I think we have all been a bit upset at some point on this thread at waiting to TTC. Maybe try to look at the positives if you can - I think it is easy sometimes to get too focused on TTC/not TTC rather than all the other good things in our lives (I know I have been guilty of this). Easy to say though, I know, when you are desperate to get started! Great idea for staying together on this thread though rather than splitting off onto different buses etc! :)

Hope you have not caught DD's cold bebe and that she is feeling better! I think the supplements are a good idea- they certainly can't do any harm and might be making a difference! You have done so well with the weight and healthy eating too, hats off to you really!

:)

AmandaCooper · 08/09/2010 00:04

100years I have bawled my eyes out in a Leeds nightclub and in a restaurant over it. I also once wept copiously whilst on the treadmill at the gym as I was watching Supernanny and the little family were so happy! Hormones I think.

100years · 08/09/2010 07:15

Thank you so much gals, I was so convinced that I was abnormal and making a big deal over things that I kind of made it worse. It's nice to know (obviously not nice for others to feel the same) that I'm not the only one who gets like this. I'm not sure blokes feel the same although wanting children/family, I don't know as OH quite gets it. He is however extremely patient, understanding and offering hugs if I get upset. And yes I am guilty of only focussing on one thing as opposed to looking at all the good stuff around me!

That's the line I have drawn and from now on enjoy these last few months before TTC and the things we have planned.

AmandaCooper · 08/09/2010 08:32

Well of course we're focused, this is probably the most important and hardest challenge of our lives we're preparing for - emotionally, physically and practically. If we weren't focused there would be something wrong!

JustShaggingForNow · 08/09/2010 09:53

I haven't cried in a public place (yet) but have had several teary nights with DH on the subject.

I feel that now we have had THE CHAT I can stop obsessing about it and focus on enjoying everything that I do have and not focus on the one thing I don't.

Super nervous about the interview this evening. I never usually get this way before them but I guess it's because I really need to escape my current nightmare boss want this opportunity! Have got a pretty good interview track record so far so trying to focus on that and not the nerves!!

AC how is the hunt for a new job going? I know that it can be a pain to start looking for something new. I started looking in May and have only just started getting interviews but even looking makes you feel more positive and as though you are actively doing something to get out of the situation!!

AmandaCooper · 08/09/2010 13:04

No side effects no. It's been very straightforward, I haven't noticed any change.

AmandaCooper · 08/09/2010 13:31

Oh hang on - I have noticed a change though. I've had no CF since coming off the pill, which is a bit worrying.

JustShaggingForNow · 08/09/2010 13:39

I don't think I had any side effects when I came off it. I have no idea if my cycles went back to their pre-pill ways as I'd been on it for 10 years but (other than a very odd long cycle 3) they are now 30 days every time.

What is CF? Am I being incredibly thick?

Afternoon girlies! :o

Had a busy morning with DD & feeling quite stressed with her at the moment. Had a lovely weekend & day on Monday with her & since then she has been a right handful! Remind me why I want another one?!?! Wink (Coz they are cute & adorable & precious & rewarding etc etc! :o)

100years - I feel complete fed up sometimes too. Haven't cried in public but do tend to go a bit quiet around friends/relatives with little babies! It's generally do that or cry! Stupid hormones!! I do have to remind myself almost daily how lucky I am to have DD already & for all the blessings that I have! But it is hard :(

JS - good luck for the interview! Got my fingers crossed for you! :o

AC - that sounds like a miserable situation for you. Hope that you find another job soon!

My friend is having her baby today...in fact she has probably had her already! Am mega excited & going shopping 2moro for something cute! :o
