Late AF but -ive test!!

Thought I might consult the mighty MN oracle re the above problem! AF was due on Sat but has yet to turn up. I know its not long but usually am like clockwork! Two digital tests (Sat and Sun) both -ive. I feel sick and had sickness and upset tum Friday night / sat morning. I also had rotten gastric flu for first two weeks of cycle so didnt really eat for week or so and was really knocked out. BD been veeerrry limited but we are vaguely ttc no 2 so was kind of around possible ov time.
I don't feel preg except feeling queasy, could illness have delayed things or could this be false negative? Am quite terrified at thought of having two but slightly broody at the same time!! Just being driven mad by this uncertainty!! Any helpful thoughts?

By BFP very suddenly became a BFN today . I've been pretty sick recently, so I guess my baby bunny bump couldn't cope.

oh very sorry to hear that CHOCCY. you never know you still might be, hormones from preg differ through the day, do a test in the morning thats best time

I haven't actually tested, have been bleeding and getting heavy cramping since late morning. Just couldn't bring myself to say (type) the cp and m words I guess.

is the bleeding bad or light?

Still no AF whitey, wow... what cycle day are you on now?

I would be day 40 today but AF just deigned to arrive. Am greatly relieved to see it as was thinking I might have run out! Am determined to make more concerted effort for DC2 now just in case!

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join in? This is my first post on this thread but I found it (and read it all) looking up late AF whitey I could have written your OP today. I mean literally seems I'm going through the same thing but exactly a week later! so sorry to hear AF arrived for you and nomorechoc -- fear I will be in the same boat in a week's time.

AF due Saturday so 3 days late. Was ill as a dog for 2 weeks right around mid-July so usual long cycle (35 days-ish) might just be extended due to the cold.

We've decided to TTC number 2 so I'm deluding myself that despite no real PG symptoms I might test positive! have ordered a pack of ebay tests and will try one as soon as they arrive.

AF due Fri/Sat. Tested Thurs/Sat, both negative.

Now, nothing!

Have been 27/28 days regular since coming off pill in March. Not breast feeding, not ill, not losing weight.... WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!

somepeople dont test posative till like over w eek overdue. give it a bit longer and see what happens, maybe if you ovulated later on in your cycle rather than middle it wont show posative yet this happend to me with my last pregnancy i got pregnant 2 days before period was due. or go to docs and they can give you a blood test, and they can detect it earlier than a preg test

If I ovulated THAT late, I don't think I could be pregnant as DH was away by then!

Well, I gave up and tested after saying I would wait.

I went to boots for hairbrush and came out with a test and got a BFN.

I am now on my own and devestated still with no AF and no idea what I should do now being 9 days late

I've been been watching this thread with interest as I've been in the same boat as many of you for the last couple of months.

I'm normally a 28dayer without fail and have been getting really excited on CD29 when there is no show only for AF to arrive on CD30 it's been the same for the last few months!!
I think I'll have to accept the fact that I'm now a 30day girl and resist the testing!

30andmerkin, well you just might have low hormone levels then, just go to docs and see what they say

30andMerkin, IfAtFirst, I can relate -- only thing preventing me from testing this morning is my ebay cheapies haven't arrived ha ha!!

Sorry to hear about your BFN cowboylover, ahhh 9 days is awhile, would it be worthwhile to call the GP to ask for advice? Is it possible to have some sort of partial conception where it doesn't quite take, but pushes everything back a few days ?

30andM I had the very same thing last week; I was 6 days late. Don't know why, I just was. I think it might have been a "near miss" as Mr Crazy put it.

I would hold off testing until you are a week late maybe...? By then if you are PG it would more than likely show up on a test... it could be that you ovulated slightly later than you thought (and swimmers can live a good couple of days so there's still a chance even if Mr Merkin was away :))

well i told my mum and dad last night, it wasnt the best, but they said its my life and, all that but cant believe how stupid ive been haha, there abit worried as im gonna have 2 kids by the age of 20, which is understandable. but thats it after this one no more ive only ever wanted 2 and im stiking to that. im also gonna go back to college i think and study something proper.

well i did a test this morning and got a very faint BFP! having had mc before i'm not going to get excited about this until at least another month or two ? (naw, secretly excited ;) we shall see ?
