Late AF but -ive test!!

Thought I might consult the mighty MN oracle re the above problem! AF was due on Sat but has yet to turn up. I know its not long but usually am like clockwork! Two digital tests (Sat and Sun) both -ive. I feel sick and had sickness and upset tum Friday night / sat morning. I also had rotten gastric flu for first two weeks of cycle so didnt really eat for week or so and was really knocked out. BD been veeerrry limited but we are vaguely ttc no 2 so was kind of around possible ov time.
I don't feel preg except feeling queasy, could illness have delayed things or could this be false negative? Am quite terrified at thought of having two but slightly broody at the same time!! Just being driven mad by this uncertainty!! Any helpful thoughts?

thx !

Hi all, I had some crampy feelings this morning but have just done loo check and nothing I did however realise that my knickers were on inside out so not a completely wasted trip !!
Now feel a bit queasy again but think thats the inkings of fear as the idea of early menopause keeps playing round my head too. Sure AF cant just disappear for good? AM wondering if I might get more flipping tests and poas tomorrow morning..

Hi whitey I had the same all night last night and expected the arrival of AF this morning but nothing... it is driving me MAD. I just want to know one way or t'other.

And yes not a totally wasted journey for you

Stay positive, I am sure early menopause is pretty rare xx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 10:06

Luck Not even on the next page yet and I'm PSML at the food porn. 3 words. dark chocolate and cherries. (dribble emoticon)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 10:12

I had a good look at my calendar last night and it turns out today my AF is a whole week late! And still no sign of turning up either. Am trying to hold of testing for a few days.

So; how low can you go? (sets up limbo bar, opens the bar, cranks up the music and shows early menopause the door)

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 10:26

I use an app on the iPhone to help me work out when I am ovulating. Every time I open it it screams your period is five days late!. I fricking know this!!!!!!!!!

Kick that early menopause to the kerb choccy I am waiting till Saturday to test - we should do it togevva xx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 10:31

Ohh testing buddies

MarthaSlatternStewart · 05/08/2010 10:37

Sorry have to say NMCB.... test, eek shoves hand over mouth I didn't say it, but........... 10 days................test......

Oh I'm away to bake too so I dpn't cause any trouble

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 10:48

Martha I've tested Monday, Tuesday (twice) and yesterday. I couldn't even imagine a line onto the test strips! So need to take a rest from all that.

Ohh ohh, just looked at my diary again. If I am up the duff, it'll be an Easter baby, and if I start to crave chocolate like I did with DS, I'll give birth to a chocolate easter bunny!!

Oh help I need slapping with a wet kipper!

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 10:53

Awwww an Easter baby!!! Yay! And PG over Christmas - awwww.

God I need to stop. I am only 5 days late FFS...!

Whiteybaby · 05/08/2010 10:56

Nomore have you not tested yet at all? I am in awe of your self control!! I will be a week on Sat.. yawn. DH is convinced its just because of the aful gastric bug and uit I had at the start of this cycle but I'm a natural born worrier so keep thinking it could be more suspicious!!

OP posts:
Whiteybaby · 05/08/2010 11:18

Wawzers have just re read this and realised the frankly shocking typo's! Awful gastric bug and uti

Folks, have you discovered this site yet?

Pregnology

It reckons that if I ovulated on the 18th and conceived then I'd be 13 weeks and could tell people on October 4th, at Christmas I'd be 24 weeks and 5 days, On my birthday I'd be 36 weeks and 6 days, and the baby would be due on April 11th, the day after DP's birthday.

Not that I am at all obsessed.

Like Crazy and Nomore I'm going to test on Saturday if there's still nothing, and I'll give my GP a shout next week if it's negative on Sat and AF hasn't showed up. My GP will probably just say to sit tight, but I'd rather hear it from them than make assumptions.

Hopefully this will be a busy thread on Saturday and we'll have three BFPs Are you going to join us on Sat, Whitey?

Explained to DP last night that I'm late. He said "well you were later than expected last month". So I explained that the average cycle is 28 days, my last cycle was 32 days, and this cycle is now on day 37 (this was last night, it's 38 now). He went rather pale, it was quite amusing!

We are TTC, but he has convinced himself that it'll take at least a year, while I've been more insane optimistic about the whole thing as I'm still pretty young.

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 11:26

Hi saor cycle buddy
Yeah I have looked on pregnology, i really like it except that the conception bit confused me, there should be an option to say "my cycle is broken please can you help"

I agree about the GP - I just want to pacify myself rather than anything else. The waiting is driving me insane. I'd like to think that the odds are in our favour though, at least one of us has to get a BFP!!! Then the others can live through that one hehe.

Poor Mr Saor! I bet he needed a stiff drink bless him. Mr Crazy was dismissive of me at first saying it would take longer than a month, but as time goes on he seems to be thinking there's more than a slight chance of me being pg... I just hope I am because I will never be able to work out my cycles after all this palaver!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 11:40

Holy crap Saor according to that site I'm 4 weeks pg! only 2 weeks after having the IUD out and ov'ing! I hate how they add two weeks like that. I guess the fact it's only been 2 weeks would explain the BFNs I've been getting.
Eh, and I may try a home pg test in 25 days! this is a site written by a man if ever I saw one! It's also telling me I've just had several days of AF. Well no I haven't that's the problem.

Whitey if by not testing today you mean I have self control then, yes so far I do. otherwise, no I have no self control, having wsted 4 tests in 3 days this week already. Looking forward to the mass saturday am test though.

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 11:42

choccy I have the same problems with it!

I worked out last night that if I am up le duff, I can only be just over 2 weeks... so yeah wouldn't that explain the BFNs for us? And why I have no real morning sickness to speak of? I just don't know. Can you remember with your first whether you had symptoms so early on??

I DESPAIR!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 11:55

I wasn't trying to get pg with DS (he was a one hit wonder, opps), so I wasn't looking out for pg symptoms. Really the first clue was the missing AF, then at about 3 and a half weeks I started to throw up (was on holiday in Italy so wasn't impressed by that!).

SaorAlba · 05/08/2010 11:56

Crazy Not everyone gets morning sickness. In fact, it seems that not everyone gets symptoms at all. Clearly missing a period is something that happens to most folk, the other stuff seems to be less definite. Having had a nosey on the ante-natal boards, the folk that are in early pg seem to be more tired than normal and that's about it.

I did notice that the 'when to test' calculator doesn't work if you're late, but the 'due date' calculator does. I can't decide if it's scary or exciting to be looking up my due date when I don't even know if I'm pregnant or not .

It took me ages to work out that 40 weeks is counted from 2 weeks before ovulation. Why do they do this?! I suppose the up-side is that it makes the first scan 2 weeks earlier though

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 12:04

Saor I guess they can't tell for sure when you ovulated or when it was fertilised since everything has a relatively long shelf life

I am too scared to find out when mine would be due. I really am trying so so hard not to get my hopes up because I know we would be incredibly lucky to get pg after one attempt haha.

I am even watching "Who Knows Best" on Channel4 player about sleep deprived parents to put me off the idea of being PG, so I am not too disappointed if AF shows up, the tardy b1tch. Desperate I know...!

SaorAlba · 05/08/2010 12:08

I wasn't stressed about pregnancy until I saw a thread on here called "When did your innie become an outie?". I know pregnancy changes your body, but eww!

Whiteybaby · 05/08/2010 12:12

OK I am in for Sat am poas . As the only one with a dd already I am pretty sure I will be the first to the loo too!!
I was a first time lucky before so its very possible!!
crazy i am also worried about how I am supposed to know what my cycle is doing once AF does turn up..

OP posts:
MarthaSlatternStewart · 05/08/2010 13:42

Just to confuse matters when I found out I was pg with dc3 and went for my scan the mw told me I was only 10 weeks pg

I said no way that would mean I got pg the same week I did the bloomin test, and anyway there was no way she was going to convince me the baby on the screen was 10 weeks as I had an early scan with dd1 and she was just a jumping bean at 9.5 weeks, and the baby on the screen I could count every finger and toe, guess who was right?????

Me!! Especially with my long cycle I'm always about 5 weeks when I test (thats including the silly 2 weeks were your not really pg)

We're nearly starting our own bus here girls

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/08/2010 13:50

Hmm, feeling a bit funny, like maybe AF is finally going to show up. WTHF is going on?

Whiteybaby · 05/08/2010 13:51

Duh, have just realised obviously I'm not the only one with DC already here. If complete absentmindedness is a sign (and it was last time) then the tests may well be wrong!!

Whiteybaby · 05/08/2010 13:53

Jeez.. we just made it to most active!!
