Late AF but -ive test!!

Whiteybaby · 02/08/2010 11:42

Thought I might consult the mighty MN oracle re the above problem! AF was due on Sat but has yet to turn up. I know its not long but usually am like clockwork! Two digital tests (Sat and Sun) both -ive. I feel sick and had sickness and upset tum Friday night / sat morning. I also had rotten gastric flu for first two weeks of cycle so didnt really eat for week or so and was really knocked out. BD been veeerrry limited but we are vaguely ttc no 2 so was kind of around possible ov time.
I don't feel preg except feeling queasy, could illness have delayed things or could this be false negative? Am quite terrified at thought of having two but slightly broody at the same time!! Just being driven mad by this uncertainty!! Any helpful thoughts?

thx !

Haaaaaaaa of course, duffment test, great! I can't wait to hear whether you are - let us know please!

Whitey sorry to hear about your BFN. I am so with you on the frustration of it all. I have to say I never expected to get up le duff first cycle, but the way things have gone have made me obsess. I think my body is just playing funny buggers and poking fun at me

I will not be exfoliating for a while to teach it a lesson

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/08/2010 15:12

CrazyB Woke up at half 2 this morning (ah the joys of 2 1/2 year olds) and as I was lying on my tummy (while DH dealt with DS hehe) I suddenly realised that my tummy felt like it did when I was pg the first time. Sort of tight and full (and not in a need to wee kind of way) low down. Felt like that since I woke up too.

I dunno, I'm probably just pulling sypmtoms out of a hat. Didn't think I'd achieve duffment first go again either. I've got to say I've ruddy annoyed cause I don't know what to plan for my birthday dinner next week, if I can have shellfish or not, if I can have wine or not (well not to that cause my kidneys are still a bit sick )

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 15:27

choccy i went all weekend not having wine or anything then BFN. I felt cheated! Lots of people are pg without knowing it and we can;t spend the next however long depriving ourselves of stuff only to get a BFN. Obviously when we have the BFP we will be more adherent to the guidelines

...Not that I am blackmailing my un-yet conceived child...

Whiteybaby · 03/08/2010 15:42

Hmm I am trying the double jedi approach now.. sushi yesterday and just had a luvverly (small) glass of wine with colleagues. Not suer its the best approach but if the tests keep saying I am not pregnant??? choc* thats exciting that you are getting some signs of previous symptoms!!

OP posts:
Whiteybaby · 03/08/2010 15:43

whoops that should have been "not sure"! Its that small glass of wine affecting my typing!!x

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/08/2010 16:06

As the wine is out anyway am sort of thinking shellfish (just encase it's the last time for 9 months). And there's a giant choc cake on it's way regardless.

My goodness I shudder when I think of how much alcohol I drank and all the deli meats and shell fish I ate before finding out I was pg with DS. But he appears to have turned out just fine.

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 16:10

There you go then, the defence rests

luckbealady · 04/08/2010 08:12

When I was at the doc's on Mon I mentioned that I may have (ahem) drunk slightly more than the NICE guidance at a wedding last weekend and he said that NICE err very much on the side of caution, so it shouldn't be a problem. So long as we're not out every night chugging back the Bacardi Breezers and Aftershock chasers.

Anyway, it's all academic unless we're all be-duffed! And I will find out from the doc at lunchtime today...

Choc sorry to hear about your kidneys. Spoil yourself on your birthday with shellfish and cheese! Have a good one

xxx

Whiteybaby · 04/08/2010 08:42

Morning all, luckbe hope you have good news today. Will have fingers crossed! Choc you have to treat yourself on your bithday.. you might have more news by then though anyway !

Still nothing here, AF or symptoms, am starting to hum "why are we waiting" on repeat!! I am ashamed to admit when you ladies talked about being on day 42 I thought that sounded ages but have relised thats prob a week today for me.. when should I be consulting the gp?? Assume I can wait till then or did you go sooner?

Crazy I fell first time with very limited BD with dd. Was a bit cross actually as dh was desperate for children and had told me it would def take at least a year so we should get cracking!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/08/2010 09:44

Ohh Luckb would love to eat cheese, but I have a stupid lactose intolerence, so can only eat a small amount of goats dairy. Will be swallowing a huge handful of lactase tablets and eatting a HUGE chocolate cake though .
Hope you get the news you want today [crossed fingers emoticon]

Still nothing here. Kidneys are playing up again though, so back to thinking could just be that putting AF on hold (boo).

Am thinking there needs to be a new digi poas test. One that gives answers like; 'Your AF is just screwing with your head and is due in x days' and 'You're sick not pg, you daft cow' or 'You are pg, but the baby doesn't want you to now yet. Haha what a brat you're going to have.' or best of all 'Thanks for wasting all your money peeing on sticks, someone is getting really rich off your habit '
(NoMore wanders off to contemplate the possible fortune to be made)

I am going to try not to POAS today.

crazybutterflylady · 04/08/2010 10:38

Morning everyone, hope you are all ok.

Still no sign of AF. I went a bit dizzy in my spin class this morning which I am adding to the huge list of PG symptoms. Yet still no BFP

choccy I said the very same thing a few days ago! The b*stards say "test 4 days before your period! even though it won't work"... and still we buy them. Who is the fool?! I like your suggestions but I do think they would include a disclaimer at the end of each answer suggesting we buy another test just to be sure! Lactose intolerant? eeeeek... hence the nomorechocbiscuits? really? you poor love!!! I like that you can buy counteractive tablets... guzzle them down girl.

luck I am so pleased you posted that info, I had another glass of bubbles last night - well it would have gone flat otherwise
and until my brat of a baby or evil AF turns up, I have no excuse to not drink. Or so I am telling myself.

How late are you now whitey? same as me at day 34 of 30 day cycle?? I am not really sure what to do either, when do I think about going to Dr??

Gahhhh oh to be blisfully ignorant again...

x

SaorAlba · 04/08/2010 11:39

I'm on day 37 of a 32 day cycle. I fear I may be going insane. DP was entirely confused by my lack of being able to sit still or concentrate on anything last night - I haven't explained the situation to him. Got a BFN last night though. Twas the last of my internet cheapies. I'm now convinced the cheap tests don't work. Going to try my hardest to hold out until Saturday morning to test again. (hahahhahaha)

Whiteybaby · 04/08/2010 12:26

Crazy I think I am on day 33 of 29 day cycle. If its not here by Friday might try and see doc as work Monday - thurs so will be tricky to get in start of next week.
Welcome to the madness Saor. Waiting to poas is not a strenghth I have found yet!

Am just so cross as tested on morning of af due date last month as was going out with friends and didnt want to drink to excess if pg, test neg and af turned up within couple of hours so I recruited dh to ensure I didnt test next time (this month if you are still reading this v confusing post) until the day after af due. I'm still here 5 days later!! No af, no + test!!! What is going on!!

OP posts:
crazybutterflylady · 04/08/2010 12:52

...so we're all preety effing late anyway! I wish there was someone I could complain to, like a missed period train manager or something

MarthaSlatternStewart · 04/08/2010 13:10

Morning girls went for blood test yesterday will get results tomorrow/Friday but AF came this morning,
straight after I used my last test wouldn't you know,
anyway I'm pleased as we wanted to wait another couple of months before TTC

but fingers crossed for thase waiting on BFP I will be looking out for you all

(I'm PlumBum btw)

luckbealady · 04/08/2010 13:27

aaragh the doc's 'in a meeting', the practice is closed on Wednesday afternoon and I am going insane carrying my phone everywhere and trying to concentrate on my work. Why tell me to call at the end of morning surgery IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE THERE??

Breathe...breathe...

Crazy, there might be an OfCon(ception)that we could complain to ha ha ha ha (thinks: am mildly hysterical now).

Good luck laydees, hang on in there.

crazybutterflylady · 04/08/2010 14:12

Hi PlumBumInDisguise I can totally believe it, b*stard AF! At least you can have a glug of booze now and enjoy a bit more procreational activity

luck go and knock their door down. what is all this surgery closed business anyway? It's not like they are open at weekends (well mine isn't!) tsk tsk tsk.

OfCon(ception). Love it!!!

Let us know what happens please x

Whiteybaby · 04/08/2010 14:42

Getting test results from the GP has to be up there as one of the most irritating things to do ever (alongside waiting for AF )

Plum glad you have some news and wishing you lots of baby dust when the time is right for couple of months..

OP posts:
luckbealady · 04/08/2010 16:52

Computer says no...it's a BFN from the doctor's. So I am on day 50 with no AF and no idea why. Let the tests - and the large glasses of wine - commence.

baby dust to the rest of you! Got my fingers and toes crossed, and thanks for keeping me sane today.

xx

Whiteybaby · 04/08/2010 17:03

Hey luckbe sorry to hear that and doubly sorry it leaves you in limbo still. Did doc have any words of wisdom / idea of what to do from here? Big un MNlike hug and a large glass of wine to you x

OP posts:
MarthaSlatternStewart · 04/08/2010 17:19

Whiteybaby thanks for babydust, I think with this month of testing it will bring the ttc forward as dh was excited checking test this morning I had wanted to lose bit of weight but ho hum, we want to go on holidays then we'll see

luckbealady [eek] what did they say?, the nurse mentioned early menopause to me, I think I nearly shrieked but I want another baby at her but I really do think its my thyroid all ads up with my bit of weight gain & tiredness

So whats happening with the rest of you girls???

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/08/2010 19:55

Crazy the NMCB name is supposed to help me lose a bit of weight. It should really read NoMoreChocBiscuitsForMe as it sounds a bit like I'm telling everyone they're not allowed choc bikkies. Never mind. Bought my Green and Blacks for that big cake

Still in Limbo Land here and hiding my remaining pee sticks for a couple of days.

Hope you're all enjoying your babydust laced wine. I'm swigging away with you all in spirit.

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 07:00

Hi all,

Still there in limboland with you choccy - I had cramps during the night which would usually be accompanied by AF but still nothing. Starting to get bored of this game...

Have a good Thursday (friday tomorrow wooohooo) and good luck to everyone!!! xx

luckbealady · 05/08/2010 08:20

Hi gals

The doc has gone away to check what tests he should do when (!), and of course we have to wait for my next AF. No explanation other than 'must be hormonal' but then it was over the phone, at work, and I was just keen to get him focused on the tests. Plum, I wondered about early menopause too...

Tell you what, I REALLY enjoyed my wine last night! Choc, I want to hear all the details of your cake, it sounds lush. I'm doing Weight Watchers so need a bit of food porn!

Thanks for your lovely messages ladies.

xx

crazybutterflylady · 05/08/2010 08:56

luck I did WW last year and I love their range of snacks - have you tried the cheese puffs/choc slices/caramel wafers? YUM oh and the frozen profiteroles!!! all around 1 point from memory...
Good luck with it x
