LottieCrump · 22/08/2010 10:28

I am really enjoying the trotting images in my 'ed!

Thanks Viv - am already doing the Evening Primrose on days prior to OV and have now reordered my She Oak supplement too. Have also ordered the Serenity Progesterone cream but not sure it'll arrive in time for me to take on hols on wed and am also not completely sure about using it. What if my body doesn't really need it? What negative effect could it have?

Hairy - firstly that is really quite early to test, no? Secondly a wet fishy thwack (soz but you did deserve that) and thirdly, don't get too disheartened. I've been feeling kind of the same (I'm 41) - we need to keep a positive outlook and not stress out and remember that it takes a normal average woman several months on average to conceive so expecting to fall at our age, with our histories, just because we think we've forced the sperm-u-like to meet with oeuf at the right time doesn't guarantee a baby. I've just given myself this talking to, last cycle (hence the buying of supplements, potions and odd foodstuffs). You have done it before and will do it again.

hairytriangle · 22/08/2010 10:30

Thanks everyone. I'm not ever ever testing again til my af is due. Just got to get on with the pma I guess. Am in doldrums right now but will be better soon.

LottieCrump · 22/08/2010 11:13

oh and Viv tell me about the zinc . . .what's it supposed to do?

randomimposter · 22/08/2010 11:18

lottie it seems there are no downsides to prog cream - you can't OD on it. Remember someone saying once they thought it made them a bit emotional, though how the hell you cound pinpoint prog cream in the hormonal maelstrom that is TTC I have NO idea... (my view FWIW is that the AC clinics recommend prog to everyone and noone knows more about conception and early pg than them?) And for us on the northern side of 40 our prog levels tend to start to slide.

LottieCrump · 22/08/2010 11:22

Thanks Jollster. That's kind of what I was getting from reading up online but then amongst all the positive I also read one warning which said that it can throw your oestrogen levels out of whack (ie make them too low)by supplementing with progesterone . ..it's a feckin mental and emotional minefield. I'm only going to use it post OV and a pea sized dab twice a day 9as recommended on the Wellness site) so we'll see.

Thank you for your help. x

Freezingmyarseoff · 22/08/2010 11:29

Hairy squeeze for you. I know how you feel, I tested on Friday night and it wasn't positive. Didn't even have the guts to tell you all. Don't know why I did it - on the due date of MC#1 of all days. I'm just stupid as feel really down now. Sad

Am reading about the cough mixture and prog cream with interest.

AF due this evening or tomorrow so just waiting for that to move on and start thinking positively again. Thanks for the list lottie Smile

Waves to everyone else.

Some worrying news from magic8 towers my sisters waters started to go yesterday She is almost 29 weeks, they have given her steriods/antibiotics and will do a scan tomorrow. I hope that little boys hangs in there. Fills me with dread though having been there myself although she is much further along than I was. Poor love, the waiting game is the pits :(

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 22/08/2010 14:01

magic8 - will keep my fingers crossed for your sister, she must be so scared.

FWIW, and I know it doesn't necessarily help to hear, but I know friends' babies born at 24 and 30 weeks who made it. The little one born at 24 weeks was in intensive care and on oxygen for quite some time but is doing really well now and just finished his first year at school. My friend's little girl born at 30 weeks (closer to your sister in timing) was home after 3 weeks with no apparent long-term health problems. I know it's not always a comfort to hear other people's success stories, but just wanted to say even if they can't stop things now there is hope of a happy ending x

randomimposter · 22/08/2010 18:23

magic lots of love to you and your sis; what a worrying time. (Did I read that correctly that you said boys plural for her? Or is there a random s making me think of MORE twins?!)

Hi to all - about to do bath and bed for DS. Only very light bleeding here, so looks like I'll have to have ERPC on Tuesday after all. Bugger.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 22/08/2010 18:32

Thanks ladies, she just having one boy - she is pretty chilled and they are not too concerned (yet) will know more once she has had a scan tomorrow.

Pants about erpc Jolls x

VivClicquot · 22/08/2010 18:38

magic - crikey, have just seen this, hope your sister is doing okay honey. (and I hope you're doing okay too given everything you went through)

jolls - rubbish news about the erpc x

lottie - tbh, zinc is more beneficial to men as it helps sperm quality and mobility but it's good for just general reproductive health in women too.

PinkFondantFancy · 22/08/2010 19:07

Evening all,

magic - fingers crossed your sis is ok, it's good to hear she's not too worried

Sorry about AF freezing :-( here's hoping for next month!

I am confused about what my cycle's doing, I think I'm going to start temping next month to try and figure it out. I had EWCM and pains for a couple of days last week but it's gone now and I'm only on day 14 so am very confused now, surely it's too early to ovulate?? Anyway don't have too much hope for this week as DH is out of the country now until Thurs night which I would have thought would be the optimum time for SWI....

I've had a lovely chilled out weekend but had meant to do mega housework and have have done absolutely nothing!!! Rubbish! I am definitely not up the domestic goddess status that some of you ladies are! :-)

hairytriangle · 22/08/2010 19:50

Freezing - thank you for your message, and so sorry about AF arriving. Sounds like you are feeling like I am.

Magic8s so sorry to hear about your sisters troubles, I'll keep everything crossed for her.

Jolls :(

wave to everyone

Had a nice day out walking today and at the beach, the popped in to see my lovely pregnant sister, who has had IVF and a long and horrible journey prior to the IVF, so that was nice, as she really understands what it all feels like.

I feel a mix of sad, and angry, and stupid. I've waited til 42 (no fault of my own) and found out I have a blocked tube... to be pinning so much hope on it ever happening seems so silly, I really do wonder if I should just give up, but I know I wont' ever be able to be. :(

And I have to go to work feeling like this tomorrow :(

and I don't know if I can cope with the monthly mood swings brought on by being off the pill and by ovulating. :(

Sorry , just feeling a weeny bit sorry for myself.

CaribouMoo · 22/08/2010 19:55

8s that's a nightmare about your sister, hope its not bringing back painful memories for you too. Good to see Izzy's story but I know you'll all be awful worried. Keep us posted.

Jolls rubbish! I just assumed because you were bleeding you wouldn't have to go into hospital afterall. I know its disruptive to your cycle but at least its over quickly. Right in the middle of your house move as well, you poor soul x

Viv do you take the zinc etc on top of conception vitamins. I caught myself taking my expensive conception vitamins after dinner last night and washing them down with wine - how ridiculous! I also found myself in boots today buying the cough medicine!

PFF I'm a big temping fan. Although its only useful for confirming you have OVd, once your cycle is stable its handy.

So I did change my name, will drop the Moo once everyone knows its me. Hope everyone else is well

MamaPower · 22/08/2010 20:40

Hi ladies,
just updating me on the list as cycle 2 not 1! LadyB won't move to the wttc list just as yet as everyone pointed out that with my cycle being of the WTF variety, I might end up in same place as DH at the right time after all, who can tell!!

Few sad faces around it seems, so I won't name check you all but pass around the lovely vino and some delicious g&b choc (just as well as it's virtual because I well and truly over indulged for real over the weekend!!) and hugs for those who need one x

PS X-factor started last night and you know what that means?! Count down to Christmas has begun, that's depressing!

Hi everyone,
Haven't been on here for a couple of days and so many messages to catch up on but as am on phone I'm failing.

Just wanted to say a massive congrats to battery that's brilliant news. Fingers crossed for everyone else.

I'm still v worried although trying not to be. Have midwife booking in appt tomorrow so will either feel more real or more scary- like there's more to lose (which is silly as whether I let myself get excited or not won't affect whether my pregnancy has progressed since the last scan. Anyway, sorry for self indulgent post, know i should be thankful to be pregnant it's just hard to let myself get excited

owlshoes · 22/08/2010 20:51

Evening lovelies :)

Hairy and Freezing - it WILL happen again :) Sorry you're both feeling pessimistic, it's rotten. Hopefully tomorrow will be a nicer day (if you can find some cake that will definitely make it a nicer day).

Mrs PV we're all watching you in anticipation of the Big Event (the POAS of course) Mood swings is a Symptom is it not? Grin

magic8 fingers crossed for your sis - I've met lots of little 'uns that decided to turn up early around the 29 week mark and I can reassure you that they are every bit as naughty, noisy and full of beans as the full term ones :)

Big boo for the ERPC Jolls - good excuse for muchos pampering afterwards I reckon.

Am liking the sound of this zinc stuff. Will start grinding it up and hiding it in Mr Owlshoes's cereal immediately!

Cheepz · 22/08/2010 20:57

hello all, have not had / got time to read back and might be abit awol for the next few weeks as run up to move is abit mental - also have had totally stressed out weekend where couldn't sleep or eat - lost half a stone so theres upside but still feel very tired and emotional so best to just focus on getting through each day right now. will be back in a few weeks and will check up on you all as and when

hello newbs - welcome these ladies are the best

mrspv if you have good news i will swing from the chandeliers

freezing - chin up lovely

oh and battery - love to you and congrats lady

PinkFondantFancy · 22/08/2010 21:15

Sorry Jolls I missed your post first time, will be thinking of you on Tuesday.

Big hug for hairy - I'm completely ignorant on this front so apologies in advance if this turns out to be an offensive post but is your other tube ok? You definitely shouldn't give up. Sorry you are feeling down, hopefully tomorrow at work will be much much better than you are expecting.

Love the new name caribou! :-D

cheepz you poor thing, half a stone is a lot to lose Shock, hope things calm down for you soon

Everything crossed for you tomorrow northern, let us know how it goes.

Hugs all round girlies

hairytriangle · 22/08/2010 22:08

Hi PF not offensive at all, I don't mind :)

And thank you for asking. Yes the other tube is fine (by the look of the hycosy test I had)

and thank you for my hug :)

I had an ectopic pregnancy so I booked a private Hycosy (tube test) and that's when I found out my right tube is blocked.

I have had different doctors tell me differnt things - some say it probably caused the ectopic and say I'm ill advised to try again as I could have another, others say that the ectopic possibly caused the tube to block, and there is no harm in trying again.

I'm on the waiting list for a lap and dye test (where they look with a microscope (I always want to say telescope LOL Confused)

I have rotten PMT today so maybe that's why I'm feeling so pathetic and like giving up.
