Had 5 min's so here goes: Harriet, hmmm, the guidelines around your particular case are a bit wooly to say the least! I know you are paying but, there are guidelines and criteria for funding so might be worth checking via National Infertility Awareness Campaign (NIAC) via email at [email protected]. I feel gutted for you that because you managed to get p/g you are now not able to access help even though it ended in a mc! What is the world coming to?!

all interested in your right to investigations: done a bit of digging and unfortunately the nice guidelines state investigation to begin where recurrent mc occurred, and ?recurrent? is defined by the RCOG as 3 or more mc.
Therefore no health authority is required to begin investigations until you?ve been to hell and back at least three times and it would also seem that the determining factor in being referred for investigations prior to that is, as per bloody usual, your post code! The DoH must be proud!

Have a lovely Friday night all (Hi Kat sorry you are joining us)...gonna have a lovely large little G&T tonight as a reward for a very healthy week :)
Hugs to all in need x

Harriet75C · 13/08/2010 18:19

thanks for the info mama

hello to kat and any newbies or lurkers I've not said hello to in person before.

think i might join you for that g&t mama, but make mine a large supersize one!

DH is coming home early today (yay!), so I'd better try to find the quickest thing in the kitchen to cook for dinner go and lovingly prepare a meal that will takes hours to cook so he's got something nice to come home to (other than me and the dogs, of course Wink)

hairytriangle · 13/08/2010 18:21

hello all.

I had another 'peak' today and also positive ovulation sticks today and yesterday OH is knackered (SWI for the last five days - except the day before yesterday ) but hopefully we'll SWI later too :)

highfive to all of you pissed off about not getting IVF on the NHS - and not getting investigated til you've had three MCs - I think the rules are blooming silly

Harriet75C · 13/08/2010 18:22

hey, thought i could blank out a sentence and not have to do the individual words, so sorry - the above post should have read:

hanks for the info mama

Harriet75C · 13/08/2010 18:25

yay hairy good luck!

I'm hoping my OPK will start giving me :) soon - so far just blank. CD15 today, so if it were my usual cycle I'm sure I'd be in SWI territory too, but maybe it's just because I'm on the WTF cycle I'm still getting nothing :( Here's hoping for SWI indicators over the weekend!

hairytriangle · 13/08/2010 18:44

Ah Harriet do you know which day you usually get a :)?

I was starting to panic as I thought min positive wasn't happening.

I am now getting the 'how the heck will I cope with the two week wait' panics. :(

I think I'm going to have to find a way to just forget about it. Otherwise I will go truly insane.

digitalgirl · 13/08/2010 18:53

Hey there hairy I reckon i've also got one more night of SWI and then we're on the home straight. We can stick our fingers in our ears shouting 'Lalalala! What? What 2ww? Sorry, I can't hear you!'. Was hoping to hold out on any poas till am definitely overdue, but there is another massive boozy night out planned at work which I would probably want to join in on if there's no BFP. This happens to fall on 14dpo.

Yes, have taken to the drink again. So much for clean living to avoid another mc. Lo GI has gone out the window too, have had pizza two days on the trot. And a sandwich for lunch. If I'm going to be unpregnant, I might as well eat and drink what the heck I like. (will probably change tune once CD1 rolls around again)

PinkFondantFancy · 13/08/2010 19:27

Hello all, hope you're all having a lovely friday night. Hi to kat sorry you're here but on the upside there is a lot of wine and chocolate about. Talking of that, am going to need a huge glass of the wine please, have got myself into a complete state today for no real reason. Had to go to the loos at work for a cry and then started crying just now on the train and have no real idea why :( I thought I'd turned a corner this week so am v frustrated at going back to this random ridiculousness. Af started on Monday so surely this isn't hormonal buy can't think of any other explanation... I think I am scaring poor DH..

What's everyone doing at the weekend? I'm having a chilled one and hopefully will be catching up on some sleep!

Sorry not to namecheck, on phone so v hard to scroll..

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 13/08/2010 21:22

hiya guys, just a quick wave to everyone, lots of last minute wedding stress. going away tomorrow morning and won't be back for a week, hope to come back to lots of lovely BFPs!

sorry to be a little mememe, horrible day, ear infection, wedding panic, even managed to bruise my forehead!! and had DS screaming at me for 3 hours solid at bedtime. grrr.

See you all soon!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 13/08/2010 21:22

Cheepz · 13/08/2010 21:44

battery hon how ya doin? hanging in there, managing not to symptom spot too much - do i need to step in with large fish ....

i am too busy to symptom spot and stress and coffee and all the craziness means have had dicky tum this week (not great when you have to go on company plane which is so small theres no loo!) at least the flights only half an hour to guernsey

i am going to watch tv - first time this week!

hope you all doing ok, sorry to drop in and run but just wanted to make sure battery was behavin herself!!

PinkFondantFancy · 14/08/2010 00:07

ivy best wishes for tomorrow! Have an amazing day and a lovely honeymoon!

mamapower mmmmm nice wine, thanks v much! That plus a little boogie round the lounge with DH has put me back into happy mode :)

harriet how was the speedy dinner?

Night all!

Moofold · 14/08/2010 00:43

Ah, all the best Ivy - have a brill time, hope it all goes swimmingly x

Hopefully · 14/08/2010 08:18

Wrote a massiv post yesterday evening and then stupidly lost it all and couldn't bebothered to rewrite Angry.

The gist was:

  • Had scan on weds, showing a teeny weeny 6+3 weeks heartbeat, all measuring OK, no particular reason anything should go wrong
  • Have now passed previous MC date
  • Am still shitting myself that something will go wrong

DG pants to healthy living - I (and probably you) conceived DS over the least healthy period of the year last time, when I was drinking and eating all the wrong things in all the wrong quantities Smile

Harriet try not to get in a state (oh, so much easier said than done) about lack of smiley face on OPK - I'm 90% sure I didn't OV the month after my MC, and I'm not completely confident I even OV'd the month after that, despite my MC being really early, straightforward etc.

hairytriangle · 14/08/2010 08:29

Digi can we be 2ww buddies with plenty if fish slapping? :)

have fun ivy!

Hopefully I have everything (except my legs) crossed for you hon .

PinkFondantFancy · 14/08/2010 11:10

Aww hopefully really great news about the scan! I don't have any advice and even if I did, it would be totally hypocritical as I know for a fact I'm going to be the same. From everything I've read getting past 6 weeks with a heartbeat and everything measuring ok means you've got a fantastic chance of everything going swimmingly for you now. Is it worth trying acupuncture, reflexology or hypno to make you feel more chilled? MIL has been giving me some hypno to make me more accepting of what happens to me and to accept that I can't control everything-something I'm finding tough as I'm a complete control freak :(

owlshoes · 14/08/2010 11:26

Hopefully a massive hurrah for the bean + heartbeat! :)

Now is surely the time to treat yourself to lovely things. Book a foot massage, laze about in bed and demand cups of tea, eat chocolate, go for a long relaxing swim/float.

You deserve it!!

batteryhen · 14/08/2010 11:56

Hello lovely ladies.

I have not been around much so will try and catch up a bit!

cheepz Thanks for the check in! I am actually doing ok and not sypmtom spotting too much - I think the fact I got some serious fish slapping from some of the ladies on here - has done me some good! I am sorry you are so busy- but at least your mind is otherwise occupied!

Hairy - I have been down to the accupuncturist in town to enquire. Do you know if accupuncturists have to be registered? I want to make sure I am not having needles stuck in me by some chinese cowboy!

harriet - I use the OPK - and last month I got a :) on the day before and the day I ovulated. This cycle I only got a :) on the day before, which worried me but it seems I ovulated when I should have. I won't use the OPK again though - I only used them to check I was back ovulating after the MMC ( my first cycle after MC -I didnt ovulate) - I was getting myself really stressed about not getting a :). So I will leave them next month.- As IVY says - stress is not good as we know!
hopefully good news about your bean - would you like me to do the sticky bean chicken dance?? Grin
Digi -I am with you on the health living thing - I am trying to do my best, but had a glass or 2 last night, but then again in January I conceived when I was 3 sheets to the wind on red wine, so what can you do??!
pff I like to be in control too, but we sometimes have to accept that we can not be in charge of everything :( x

Where is mrpv -am concerned she is trapped in a rather large roll of wall paper!

viv how goes it lady? tigger and moof hope you are ok too x

Well life is quiet here - am keeping myself occupied on the 2ww. I have found an interest to keep me from going insane - it's called 'retail therapy'. Some of you may have heard of it Hmm. So far this week I -have bought an Ipod, a baby g watch, booked a facial and ordered a 'taking control of your fertility book.

This baby making is expensive!

I did have a wobble earlier this week - I had my cat to the vet for a check up and the vet said ....Oh so casually... 'Do you know she has a heart murmer?' I nearly started sobbing there and then as I have had her for 10 years and I couldn't bear it if I lost her too this year :(

Sorry not to name check everyone - hello to new people, welcome to our little home.

Have a fab day everyone xx

Harriet75C · 14/08/2010 13:03

glad to hear it was good news hopefully

pinkff - the dinner was nice. Went for steak and chips in the end, so quick AND got me brownie points from DH 'cos he loves steak :)

thanks for all the positive comments about the lack of smily faces on the OPK. :)

I'm going to stop stressing now. Yes, really I am. Honestly. (Well, I'll try at least!)

For all those on the 2ww, I feel much haddocking is probably required, so I went to the fishmonger this morning and there's haddock all round.

battery - I like the retail therapy idea. Now, where's DH's credit card?... And good luck with the cat. Over the last 18 months we've had scares with both our dogs (miniature long haired dachshunds if anyone is interested) - Eric is 8 and Ellie is 5 and last year Eric had a mystery virus that he nearly died from and earlier this year Ellie's back went and we though we might have to have her put down, but they're both fine now, so I know how you feel but try not to worry too much. Sending positive cat health vibes as well as good baby vibes :)

Sorry for not namechecking everyone, but greetings, wine, chocolate and hugs to all that need them. Or want them.

Have a good weekend all.

Hello all

Hope you're having a good weekend

My doggies have been being very snuggly and comforting this weekend so I've changed my nick in their honour

I was Harriet75C

I've been being very domesticated today - I've done 4 loads of washing, tidied my wardrobe (ie. picked up all the crap from the bedroom floor and actually put it away properly), pre-prepared two meals for next week, chopped up the vegetables and prepared the meat for dinner later, AND washed up all the things I'd used in all the cooking. Oh, and made a chocolate pavlova for pudding for tomorrow. And dried up and put away everything that was sitting on the draining board in the kitchen. Displacement activity so I don't have the urge to keep wasting OPK do we think? No, not me. No way. Never. Definitely not. Grin

Have I earned a glass of wine?

Cheepz · 14/08/2010 18:16

PFF - you put me back a day instead of fwd, I am with battery hen

so is diarrea a sign of early pregnancy - or is that just stress because I have had the runs on and off for a few days but its like a sudden whoosh then nothing all day - can't get my head around it unless its maybe hormone induced which would not be 'normal cycle bowel behaviour' !!

otherwise no sore boobs, nothing else to report

love to all
