hi all,

thank you for all your advice... i will back as myself tomorow.

tigger I keep picking up the phone to call chana cos i heard they have councelling I just feel so silly calling the IYSWIM but i really think i need support through this pregnancy. what do you think??

clareanna · 11/08/2010 21:06

Just popping on to say hi and see how ladybee and moof are doing.
ladybee I spoke to my mw about whether I had possibly had a bit of depression after my mmc and because of how I was feeling in this pg (not excited, anxious, not wanting to socialise). She said to me that what I'd been feeling was normal and that like any form of bereavement it can take a while to recover, and that even though I am pg that's not necessarily a miracle cure for making you feel better.
I hope your GP is helpful- you do get cut adrift by healthcare professionals after an mc which is rubbish . Take care x

Big waves to everyone else!

tigger15 · 11/08/2010 22:56

Hi sarahmia I'd call Chana. They deal with straight miscarriage as well as miscarriage after infertility. If you look on their website under services and who we help they have "Chana helps those who: have thankfully become pregnant but are experiencing anxiety in the early stages of pregnancy".

Does that sound like it fits? Grin

They are very good. (although they didn't return my last call during my last crisis)

The other thing that may be worth trying is hypnotherapy. It has helped me a bit. The lady who did it for chana is the one who advertises on Edgwarek for "virtual" gastric bands. I can dig out the details if you're not a member. A lot of it was positive visualisation which sounds like something which might help you. I know someone who has unfortunately lost 2 babies at 6 months. Would you like me to contact her and find out how she managed to get through the subsequent pregnancies?

sarahmia · 12/08/2010 09:06

tigger how much are the hypnotherapy sessions?

think i am going to call today.. (altho i thought that yesterday)

clareanna you have literally descibed me and how im feeling.

hairytriangle · 12/08/2010 09:25

Sarah have some more chocolate! passes large bar
I'd recommend hypnotherapy - I've had it for stress in the past and it was great and did the trick. The most useful thing I've found, though is acupuncture.

Clareanna sounds like a lovely MW. Hope you feel better soon.

Harriett I feel the same - don't know how I'll cope with the worry if I'm lucky enough to be up duffed again!

I had a 'peak' on the CBFM today hurray! and I have a lovely spot to prove it LOL.

So.....swim fellas, swim!!!!!

digitalgirl · 12/08/2010 10:51

Positive opk number 2 last night. Good to know at least some things are consistent in my irregular cycle. Feeling very mittelschmirzy at the moment so am joining hairyt in her chant 'Swim little swimmers! Swim! Swim!'

Couple more days of swi till my temp rises good and proper then can get on with pretending I'm not on the 2ww.

sarah I will be continuing acupuncture even if I get a bfp to keep me relaxed and help bean bed in. Might be worth a try?

Hi,

I'm actually on CD23 so lost a couple too so have updated below.

Haven't been on MN recently as work crazy but was wondering for anyone who is unfortunate enough to be on cycle 2 or more, did AF arrive in line with UCL after cycle 1?

Just asking as my UCL is 25days so AF would be due on Sunday. My WFT cycle came 38 days after my ERPC. Don't want to test too soon so am prob best waiting for another week or two - just not sure I will be able to.....

Any advice?

Freezingmyarseoff · 12/08/2010 13:40

oopps, sorry. Maybe I won't do the list again - I'll leave that up to people who can actually get it right.

penguin I think sometimes it can take more than one cycle to settle down completely, but it's different for each person. I don't know if it takes longer after an EPRC.

It's always better to wait as long as possible before testing but I'm not really the right person to talk to having wasted used 4 tests before AF came along 1 day late last time Blush

youremindmeofthebabe · 12/08/2010 13:57

Ladies, do we have any legal knowledgable types here? if so can I refer you to this topis I have posted in legal, that I am befuddled by!

A bit grr here today as regards above legal thingy, but did manage some SWI this morning before the shit hit the fan!

Waves to everyone and scarpers.

Sorry mememe, will be back after the weekend to catch up proper! Wink

PenguinsMummy · 12/08/2010 14:04

Freezing You're probably right. Am feeling very bloated and crampy so guess AF is on the way and this months efforts didn't work Sad. Will try not to test till the end of the month to give my cycle a chance to regulate.

MamaPower · 12/08/2010 15:21

Hi girls,

Not sure weather to collapse in a heap of tears in an Alice in Wonderland style or just scream and rant about the shit state that is our NHS!!
I only get to live with my husband 5 months this year as he is currently working overseas and other than that we get the odd weekend togther. The fact that I have conceived is more by luck than judgement! The fact that I have mc both is desperately upsetting and frustrating. I have just explained this to the GP along with my anxiety that I am almost 35 and asked them to consider carrying out some exploratory tests but they are insisting they will only go down this road if I mc again, and too add insult to injury reitterated my age! Yuh huh, like I'd forgotten I'm against the clock!!

I need tea and sympathy...and some kleenex would be good too! Thanks girls.

Harriet75C · 12/08/2010 16:28

passes mama a big cup of tea, a massive box of supersoft kleenex and a big big bar of chocolate, and provides a soft comfy shoulder to cry on.

the NHS is crap. TTC 7 years, 35 this year, nothign they can do until I'm 36. no. not anything. apart from tell me that it's ridiculous and that i'll be too old so should go private. which luckily we are able to do, but so many people can't. why wait until you're past prime conception age to try to help?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

let's get together a posse to go beat up the health chiefs!

MamaPower · 12/08/2010 17:40

Is now laughing at the thought of a gang of TTC hormonally frustrated women knocking down the doors of Westminster waving OPK?s and POAS?s at the Secretary of State for Health and demanding better rights for soon to be, Mums to be!
Sorry to hear you are not having much empathy or understanding either Harriet, the DoH do treat pregnancy like a conveyor belt; one off, one on and if you?ve got a problem, err join the queue! And a big thank you for making me see the funny side and all the treats, feel better already.
Hugs all round today :)

PinkFondantFancy · 12/08/2010 19:14

Hello all, sorry to hear about everyone having such a rubbish time with the nhs :( it's not as if it is actually free either when I look at how much tax I pay!!

my MIL is a hypnotherapist in Birmingham and is brill-I've been using her for some freebie treatments! Let me know if you'd like her details.

are any of you getting your DP/DH to give up booze and coffee? I've been reading the perfect pregnancy cookbook as I thought it would make me feel more positive about the natural things I can do to reduce my chances of MC but now it's scared the hell out of me that we're inevitably going to miscarry again as he likes to have a bottle of beer most nights and drinks coffee all day :( and even if he gave up now, apparently it would take 4 months to have an effect...

Anyone seen inception at the cinema? I saw it last night- I thought it was really good but not as amazing as I was expecting. The guy from third rock from the sun is v good though.

Harriet75C · 12/08/2010 19:26

DH is supposed to be cutting out caffeine and alcohol. He SAYS he is, but I can't see what he's drinking at work, so I reckon he's still doing the coffee thing...

But on the subject of alcohol, we've been having lots of chocolate and cups of tea on the thread, but not enough wine, so I've been to the virtual offie and have a massive variety of wine for anyone that wants it!

I think I'll have a nice cold glass of chablis... Wink

sidles off in real life to drink her mineral water...

clareanna · 12/08/2010 19:43

sarahmia others on the grads thread have said they felt the same - come and find us when you feel ready.
Nice to see lots of SWi-ing on here! Go for it ladies!!!

Moofold · 12/08/2010 20:04

penguin my story won't make you feel better but my WTF cycle was only about a week longer than normal after my first ERPC. However, the 1st proper cycle was 10 weeks long, i shit you not. I was at the top of the list for weeks! I'm on the WTF cycle again and hoping I don't have a repeat performance. For what its worth, I am taking Agnus Castus again as I really believe it helped regulate my cycles.

mama and harriet I'm outraged for you. Was just saying to DH our NHS has actually been pretty decent (reassurance scans, options for MC, referral to MC clinic after 2 MCs). I've been thankful for that, sorry you're both getting poor service.

Clare thanks so much for your message and checking back. What happened with your scan? Last time I was on grads thread you hadn't posted. I'm torn between wanting to know how you are all doing but at the same time not wanting to torture myself checking on the grads thread all the time. Its good you're keeping in touch x

PFF I've been nagging DH about coffee and whisky consumption - to no avail. Also about carrying mobile in trouser pocket. To be honest, I over indulged in wine to console myself too so can't really complain. Going back on a diet and health kick on Monday. Yes, Inception was amazing!

Sarah glad to see you're feeling better about things. Go go go Hairy and Digi!! Hello to YRMOTB, Freezing, Tigger, Ivy, Cheepz and anyone else that's about x

My first day back in the office today after some working from home. Only a few awkward moments with folk asking how I am and if I'm feeling better - and one person who asked if I had a nice break! I managed through the day with only one small weeping episode in the loo.

Harriet75C · 12/08/2010 20:11

I think I've had a breakthrough today. I haven't cried once! That's the first time in two weeks I have been sob and snot free!

LadyBee · 12/08/2010 20:23

clareanna thanks for stopping in and checking in, it's nice to know you're thinking about us Smile

[harriet] I know you've gone off privately, but I've just be reading the NICE guidelines for fertility and there's nothing in there saying you need to wait. It just says if you've been trying for more than a year your GP should start doing initial investigations. It makes me very Angry to think that someone has told you wrong information. If it were me, I'd be printing this out pages 139-159 and slapping my GP around the head with it until they did what they were supposed to. Anyway, it's got a tonne of information about the options - a long but fascinating read.

Got to dish up dinner...will try to catch up a bit more later.

sarahmia · 12/08/2010 20:54

evening ladies!

harriet yay for being snot free!

moof i wish i "knew" you cos if i did i woould give you a large hug and then we could have a cup of hot chocolate and a slab of cake (or two)

mama would you like to share my choccies with me???

hello to everyone!!!
