Moofold · 06/08/2010 12:43

Wow, thanks Jolls that's really interesting. Just turned 35 so falling into that category now

Can someone indulge me with a TMI question please? We haven't had one of those for a while so here goes...

I have been feeling a little uncomfortable down below and finally plucked up the courage to check what the old cervix is doing. Its very open indeed - should it still be like that?

PrettyVacant1 · 06/08/2010 12:51

Yeah Moof sorry. SadConfusedHmm
Mine took a week or so to close.
Tis not nice thing to be done to ya old cervix.

wave to everyone!

Viv I have managed to not yet drop a CBFM stick down the loo, but I am so clumsy it is likely to happen (am only on second day of peeing on them).

I'm on day seven and have got a 'high fertility' symbol, so slightly confuzzled.

Ordinary POAS says 'no', but that detects about 24-48 hours before the actual egg is released, afaik.

But I do have left side twinges, so am kind of getting on the starting blocks with the old SWI-like-mad-frenzy that is about to happen sometime in the next few days! (crystals: check, orange bedding: check, Lilly of the valley flavoured bath bombs: check, pre-seed: check, partner warned; check...and on and on and on....)

I have a day off today and have been to the hairdresser and now have obscenely short hair (with a big sweepy fringe on the other side) ah well, it'll grow. And at least they sorted the colour out.

still no news from empty?

Happy Birthday Cheepz

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 14:14

and I've tried and tried to find my cervix but can't - I know it's there cos several doctors have seen it and commented on it!

LadyBee · 06/08/2010 14:53

hairyt from memory (only used one cycle) I got several days of 'high' before getting a peak, maybe it's still learning what a high is for you cf the averages that must be in its computer brian.

It must be POAS day today then, I did another test and got a nice clear -ve, so now I know my hormones should be back to normal I think I'll start back on the ol' metformin and will dig out the temp charts.

Had a request from GP to make an appt with him, will just be a 'I'm sorry' chat, but I think I'll make the appt to make sure he's up to speed with the fact I've been referred for tests and to ask if there's anything else worth looking at.

Happy Birthday Cheepz Grin

Hello, mind if I join in?

MC last weekend at 7 weeks. Have DD1, 18 months. One minute I was on the baby names board, the next minute I'm here :( Didn't see that one coming!

It's taken me about 12 pages to try and work out all the acronyms! Is WTF cycle my what the f**k cycle? ie waiting for first AF?

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 15:07

Hello gettawiggleon welcome to the thread, sorry to hear of your MC.

Yes, the WTF cycle is when you're not really sure what's going on after a MC - several of us have had confusing cycles.

In other news, did anyone see this on the news today? No physical reasons to wait to ttc after a Mc.

"Women who have had a miscarriage do not need to wait before trying to get pregnant again, according to a new report by Dr Sohinee Bhattacharya.

A study by the University of Aberdeen of 30,000 women found that conceiving within six months offered the best chance for a healthy pregnancy."

PinkFondantFancy · 06/08/2010 15:11

Hello ladies I was wondering if I can join you? I mc'ed at 8.5 weeks in June, and after having bled for 5 weeks I got a long awaited bfn and af is due today! Tho no sign of it yet... It was my first pregnancy so v. upsetting but feeling much stronger now and desperate to try again. Have had period pains for a couple of days now but no sign, it's weird! POAS this morning as going camping with friends and would be good to know if I could drink wine out of a plastic mug with abandon but bfn so guess that doesn't strictly clear things up either way really!!

Anyway sorry to ramble on, hope you all have brilliant weekends!

getawiggleon · 06/08/2010 15:19

My brother sent me the link to that story this morning, hairy. Very encouraging, especially if you're as impatient as I am!

Still have v light bleeding at present and have hospital appt next Thurs to see if anything else needs to be done but already wondering if we could start trying straight after?

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 15:23

Hi PinkFondantFancy and welcome. Sorry for your loss - my ectopic/miscarriage/wtf was my first pregnancy too. Horrid thing to go through, especially the prolonged bleeding and waiting for normality to kick in!

Getawiggleon I'm impatient too - at forty two I guess I need to be lol. As far as I can tell, there is no reason not to try straight away if you feel up to it - and I have also heard (possibly urban myth) that you can be more fertile straight after a MC.

Good idea to see the hospital though - see what they say - and maybe mention the new guidance?

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 15:25

Thanks Ladybee. Someone on the CBFM thread says it also may have detected an oestrogen (sp?) surge :)

VivClicquot · 06/08/2010 15:58

hairy - I've been using the CBFM for six cycles (this is my seventh) and I've ranged from having only one high before the peak (in June, when I was on hols) to having seven on the first time I used it. Most months I get four highs before the first peak.

Welcome to pinkfondantfancy and getawiggleon - I love both your names. :)

We've had a work experience girl in for the last fortnight and she brought in some home-made rhubarb and custard cake for us today to say thanks. It's amazing.

Harriet75C · 06/08/2010 15:59

Oh, and I'm looking forward to shoving the TTC after mc news up the MIL's you know what! Wink

MamaPower · 06/08/2010 16:02

Hi all,

I'd love to join this happy place :)
Having felt very negative after a horrible MC (opted for conservative mangement, better for my body hopefully but not nice at all) in May that was complicated further by the growth of polyps (apparently caused by the rush of hormones) that forced the cervix to stay open and meant I bled so heavily for weeks and weeks on end, I was losing the will... but this thread has given me hope and put a smile on my face.
TTC #1 and have started charting using an app(period tracker on IPhone - brilliant! Also, when you get a BFP you can switch it to a counddown to your EDD).
Hubby missed this weeks window of opp as he's working away from home (kinda adds to the stress) but hope that we'll be in the same country at end of Aug/start sept!
Fingers crossed x

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 16:05

Cheers Viv that's useful to know about the highs and peaks. I'm jealous of your cake and may have to go and re-stock the biscuit box (as I have raided it rather a lot this week!)

welcome Mamapower - sounds like you've had a particularly hard time :(

and LOL @ Harriet75c

hairytriangle · 06/08/2010 16:50
